Bucket Tree Lodge

It was great for a family lots of room and spacious. The unit was clean and tidy and serviced every day. Close to amenities, shops, train and a park. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome.

There is no parking in front of the units so it was a bit of a hike walking backwards and forwards with all our gear and groceries.

Parking wasn't the best, The room needed more kitchen accessories for the size. Mould in the top bedroom. Bed in top room not the best. Ants in the extractor fan that came out at night. No one I knew who stayed there that weekend had the same issues, so perhaps it was just our room.

Location was excellent for the trip. Staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty of eateries in the vicinity.

We were put in a damp room with major mould and mildew on the walls and curtains. Very disappointing to have been charged for a room that was not up to acceptable motel rental standards. This was made all the more frustrating by the fact that we had a very pleasant stay in a much better room earlier this year when we booked at this same motel. We travel a lot, and will not be booking any more rooms at this motel. The owner is friendly, but this room should simply not be rented to the public in its current state.

Direct website showed a kitchen avaliable but was unsure which room type. Booked for the one we thought but turned out wrong one, owner allowed to upgrade for quite cheap to the kitchen room type

Very friendly staff

and smell like it hasn’t been aired for sometime. Didn’t like our room as it was so close to the train tracks, it was very noisy as trains were going all night.

Loved the apartment, everyone had their own bed and loved the kitchen facilites and the shower was amazing.

The location was great, the room was spacious and clean, and it had easy access to the motorway.

A light in the car park would be helpful, as it was dark when we left early in the morning for the ferry.

The bathroom floor was completely wet after a shower - we had to use all our towels to avoid slipping (;-(

The facility was lovely.

The car being away from the room but honestly it was no biggie . Maybe having to shower in the bath. I used a towel for a non slip mat. I have fallen before years ago and have not combatted my fears. Again that’s a me thing.

Not clean to a high standard. Tired interior walls ie wallpaper, peeling and grubby. Needed a deep clean. Found dirty dish in oven. The ground’s extremely badly kept, broken and dirty outdoor furniture. Overgrown, Lawns and pots unkept, weeds everywhere . Side path to car park uneven and dangerous especially with suitcases.

Shower flooded as floor sloped the wrong way. No standard studio with queen bed for older couple unless you were in upstairs unit

- I'm woken up early in the morning by the sound of trains. - I'm also quite bothered by the sound of footsteps from the second floor. - It was stated that the interior had been renovated, but I think it was quite a while ago. The bathroom ceiling is noticeably peeling.

Old units well looked after, close to the motorway for either heading north or south (for catching ferries). Friendly helpful staff.

The noise from the trains could be an issue for some but is an excellent wake up call for an early start to the day.

It was actually in a really cool spot, back on to a park, 2 min stroll to the outlet mall and enough out of Wellington to not have Wellington prices. The room was big and comfy and everything we needed.

Location was beautiful, Reading the bit of history about the place was good but left more questions, could of had more

I didnt like the train being so close to my room but it was what it was. Didn't know where to leave the room key, office wasn't open when I left for work, the man I meet who signed me in and showed me to my room didn't say anything also there was nothing in the book in the room to tell me as I looked twice through it.

Location is great, very handy to train, motorway, shops, supermarket etc etc. Room is obviously looked after and in great shape, has everything you might need, and is very spacious. Setting is next to a little reserve with beautiful bush, a creek and a playground.... Really hard to beat this one for families! Free parking, somewhat close to my room, with easy access for rolling a suitcase. The shower pressure is awesome!!!

Parking access is a little intimidating at first, but once I figure out how to navigate that, it was easy. Bathroom was designed for accessibility and as a result it seems a little challenging to keep any of the floor dry.

I was there to see a relative at the nearby Summerset Retirement village. It was close as well as having easy access to a supermarket. The room was a little cold but the bed was warm.

I think the motel needs a bit of a spruce up. It struck me as a 1980s with little modernisation. Having said that I had a great stay.
