Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Didn't provide breakfast. Location was good. Our room was a good size, so our friends usually met at our room for happy hour.
Didn't like the shower. Floor was slippery & water pressure was poor.

Reviewed Jul 19, 2026Close to town but quiet enough to be back one block from the main road. Price point comparison is interesting - I've just stayed in Auckland overnight and the venue was more modern, offered free breakfast and cheaper than Taumarunui. Having said that we also paid $15 parking overnight in Auckland - whereas it's free in all towns and most cities in NZ (except for Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington where alot of venues charge). We would stay again.
Upstairs room and having to carry luggage up 2 flights of stairs. But no big deal.

Reviewed Jul 13, 2026Nice comfy bed. Clean facilities.
Units dated and tired. No safety chain on door. Noisy groups with children who ran up down the stairs and along the balcony until quite late then rose early and repeated their noise.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2026I Liked the quiet location and the bed was very comfortable, so although I arrived very tired, I woke refreshed the following morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. They provided a bottle of fresh milk which was appreciated - much better than the small thimble-sized sealed containers of milk that are often supplied in motels. The shower was a goid size and shampoo and body wash were conveniently provided.
I liked everything about our one night stay. But I can't comment on extras like ease of using the laundry, for example, because I didn't use any extra services.

Reviewed Jan 26, 2026Clean rooms and friendly staff. The rooms are a good size and clean. It was a bit of a strange set-up with the bathroom and kitchen sharing a sink, but we managed to make it work. There was an airfryer in the kitchen area (very welcome) and the tea, coffee etc. and towels were restocked daily. Location is quiet but perfectly situated for local walks and only 5 mins from the high street and shops and restaurants.
Rooms were checked and restocked daily but they weren't vacuumed, we stayed six nights and beds were not made up, nor was the linen changed.
