wasn't exactly all clean when we opened our door fridge and microwave hadn't being fully wiped as food marks was on fridge door and microwave. bench had bits of hair as well as on the kitchen walls. the bathroom towel rail was broken the lamp light in first room doesn't work. and the smoke alarm is missing.

Nothing not to like. The room was probably a little too compact but it met our needs well. We just needed a place to sleep to break our journey. Comfy bed, hot shower, cuppa tea. All we needed.

Reviewed Aug 10, 2026We had a lovely stop over at High Street Living Motel. It was just a few minutes drive when we got off the ferry. The rooms were clean and cosy and the location was great for walking around Picton. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We also spent time in Blenheim which had good restaurants and shops. We visited Framingham Vineyard for wine tasting. We hiked along Snout Track in Picton and we booked a water taxi and hiked around Kaipupu Sanctuary which we would highly recommend.
All great for a couple of days stay.

The shower is actually terrible, one wrong turn and it’s burning you or freezing. The pressure was also terrible. The rooms are not sound proof at all. I have stayed in top 10 holiday parks with better sound proofing. No smart tv, you can get cheap ones for like $400

Reviewed Apr 25, 2026We checked in very late due to ferry delay from Wellington , booking was done on very short notice but super easy and friendly staff. We had some noise from the guests next door but nothing too dramatic. Very handy location easy to walk to a cafe super easy and convenient.
Room is bit too small and no milk in the fridge for coffee but nothing too dramatic.

Property was quite outdated, beds uncomfortable and a slight smell of mould seemed to be present. We stayed at several similarly priced motels during our drive through the South Island and this is one of the few I would not return to.

Bar opposite played loud live music in their outside space, which we could hear very clearly within the motel. Was Saturday night though to be fair!
