The room smelt damp and musty. The bathroom was very dirty and dated and flooded when you showered.Bedding was worn.Neighbours looked like tennants and with the interactions we had with them they seemed to be drug affected.

Friendly staff, nice food and the accommodation was large room and clean

The rooms are very spacious including the King size comfortable bed. There is also a sofa to sit on and a dining table.

The parking is a little way from the room so you have to carry everything quite a distance. If you go out in the evening pub goers can take up all the parking spaces, annoying

Good value but dated room, old fashioned and tired carpet, furniture. Tried to get dinner at 7.30pm In Matakana but it’s low season and everything closed early.

Easy to check in at reception with very friendly staff. The room was spacious and very clean with a large comfy bed. The Salty Dog has a restaurant and bar opposite the accommodation which was really great 👍 Great value for money

DISGUSTING! Found a used condom wrapper next to the bed!!! used earplugs under bed, half eaten packet of biscuits under bed, Didn't like the absolute rudeness of management staff, blatant lyers!, room not vacuumed. cleaners went through my belongings last time I stayed, electric blankets not on bed as advertised, missing tiles in bathroom, mould on grout.

The location seems good and there is plenty of parking spots available. The rooms are relatively spacious and they do include sufficient heating in the form of a oil heater. The electricl work as they should.

The room had many sandfiles in the kitchen and bathroom area (there was really a lot). There isnt an aircon/heatpump system so it can be difficult to manage temperate using the oil heater. There seems to have been some state housing people that were staying there at night and made a lot of noise which made it difficult to sleep there. We tried our best to sleep but they were very very loud and it felt like we paid good money for the room while others are ruining it for others.

We stayed for one night. The property was fit for purpose, especially as we had our dog with us. Restaurant/bar was onsite. Food was good. Location was good, close to other shops and beaches.

The room did have a musty smell, and the shower water was cold - did not warm up at all. The single bed was uncomfortable.

The hosts were very friendly the place is in a nice location close to all amenities. The bar and restraunt was a amazing with great food. We could play poll have a drink and watch the all blacks with a short walk back to our room. The room we stayed in was clean and bed was comfortable also. Amazing and the price really exceeded our expectations. Thanks Salty Dog Inn. We will definitely be back.

It was a large space for our family, nice and quiet. Lovely views to the countryside. Great beds, lots of heating options Convenient location to beach and shops

The property is tired and could do with updating, especially the bathroom, furniture and carpets.

I loved accomdating the staff were, i initially only booked for 2 nights and extended my stay for a further 4 nights, i was upgraded on night one due to a small mishap but they resovled it pretty quickly and we loved our upgrade to the apartment! Everything was clean and location was perfect. Staff were friendly and we loved being able to pop over to the inn to enjoy a lovely meal.

We stayed a Friday night and the people noise outside the pub until very late hours was disruptive to our sleep. We probably won't stay again.

Nice surroundings, an on site bar and restaurant . The unit was quiet, well set up and pretty much everything that we required for our one night stay.

The shower is not particularly well set up because the floor is not angled and the water runs against the wall and all over the floor, even out into the kitchen area. Quite dangerous on the tile floor. Also, the path leading to the units was quite uneven making it difficult to transfer a suitcase along it.

Booking was simple, easy access to unit and well placed for Four Square market

The building seems to be suffering from leaky building. Strong smell of mould and physical mould evidence at floor level. Facility due for a major upgrade.

Room was gross. Carpet was stained TV sound didnt work. Heaters didn't work Spa bath that 7 year old insisted on using took 40 minutes to fill fo bubble jet line. Shower was mouldy. Bought infection wipes for bath and shower.
