Bailey's At The Beach Motel

Nice view, comfortable and clean, close to intersection but not too noisy, walls are thin, could hear the neighbours but was no problem, a coffee sachet for the plunger each morning would be good and maybe coffee sachets could be upgraded to a better brand. Would stay again.

Location was good, beds were comfortable and the room was modern. Our only comment was the price for that time of year, but the manager was very accommodating and easy to talk to. Very pleasant person.

Just got back from a fantastic stay at Baileys at the beach motel. If I could give this place 6 stars I would! Was such a stunning room with a beautiful view over the ocean. This unit was one on the upper floor-it was immaculately clean, modern and had everything we needed for a weekend away. Lovely little touches like toiletries and robes were a nice touch. Warm welcome on arrival from the owner-thank you for a great stay.

We had an upstairs room. With amazing views out to the ocean. Was a great place to stay. There was double glazing so all sound was blocked out. The room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well kitted out. Had everything that we could need. The hosts were amazing and so welcoming. We will be back.

The owners were very kind, gracious, and their advice on where to go in the area could not have been better. The building, grounds and rooms were extremely clean.

The property is conveniently located close tomahor attractions on the east coast fof the Coromandel and close to the beach. The rate per night however is excessive for what you pay and what you get. Early morning road noise is not how you want to be woken up in the early hours of the morning.

Nice room upstairs with great view from balcony to the beach. Just a few steps from the beach and a short drive into town. The manager was v friendly and helpful, nice stay.

The property is easy to locate. We drove from Auckland to Whitianga and this hotel is facing the beach. It is very relaxing to walk around town. Would highly recommend.

Had a great stop here, the managers are very nice and obliging. Rooms was very clean and neat. Good cooking facilities and large bathroom. Bit of a walk into town, about 2kms. Views of the beach and sunrise. Would not hesitate to stay here again if we were in the area.

A motel on beach front: parked at back immediately outside back door. Good sized room on ground floor, good facilities. Can also just walk out of front onto lawn with table and chairs both on lawn and patio. Maybe a mile walk into town but easy going on beach path ( or on beach depending on tide)

It is a bit awkward to enter the room because of the master bedroom location. It was clean but could use a facelift

Fabulous. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and very quickly checked in. The reception staff were very efficient, pleasant and extremely helpful. Our room had the wow factor. It was meticulously clean and well presented with a lovely view of the beach. The room was quiet with plenty of USB charging points, great wifi, a smart TV, microwave, sink, fridge and stove top - all the necessities required for a wonderful stay. We loved the welcoming snacks. I highly recommend staying at Bailey’s At The Beach.

We had a beautiful room with a lovely view. We checked in with no problems and were taken up to our room. Rooms were spotless and had great ammenities in it too. We will definitely be back :)

We stayed at Baileys the nights of February 27 and 28, 2023, in an upstairs unit. Positives - -Large unit with a comfortable bed -Nice shower with good water pressure -Great view from the unit and patio of the ocean -Very clean Negatives -The owner’s unit on the lower level unfortunately was damaged in the cyclone on February 12. They are having extensive remodeling done as a result and our unit was quite noisy with hammering and drilling etc. This started about 8:00 am and lasted all day both days. We were not forewarned of this despite having emailed the motel prior to our visit for a status due to the cyclone. -Wi-Fi is slow, at best had two bars. -The motel is at a busy corner with lots of truck traffic during the day - it’s noisy when the patio door is open. It quiets down at night.

Baileys is right on the beach however there isn’t much of a view from the ground floor apartment (which we requested). The beach out the front at low tide isn’t particularly good for walking because of the multitude of shells lining the sand. We did enjoy our stay…..Whitianga is a lovely small town with a village feel….nice cafes and shops. The only downside as far as we were concerned was that the bed was very hard…..though this is probably personal taste.

A beautiful motel, can’t fault it really. Excellent facilities, with an amazing sized bathroom. The only thing to be aware of is the main road outside, but this is not a deal breaker in the slightest.

This was a very basic stay. I’m not sure I’d pick this again. The view was lovely. We did stay in a very rainy winter week so that may affect how we felt about it. The room was not cold, we were very warm without heating, even in August.

Fabulous place to stay, tastefully decorated room with everything we needed for our two night stay in Whitianga. Good flat 1.8km walk into town on the path along the beach. Friendly welcome from Coco the dog on arrival!

Great place to unwind. Across the road from the boardwalk, and walking distance to town. Comfortable and spotless. The hosts were very relaxed and friendly. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom large spotless and had brilliant water pressure. Will definitely visit again.

Great apartment, fantastic views very close to beach , we took our push bikes so had no trouble getting around, town is walkable with restaurants and bars would happily stay again , owners were very helpful and our room was spotlessly clean, full kitchen if you want to cook

. Run by a very friendly and helpful young family. Spotless apartment. Late arrival was no problem. Very helpful advice about where to eat. Apartment compendium was extensive. Free wifi and sky tv. This complex actively encourages recycling.

Great location, great host. Easy to stay there. Only downside would be the terrible internet, but that’s pretty common in hotels/motels in NZ. This makes it a tad harder to search and boom experiences. Highly recommend however

We just stayed two nights here with our two year old and four year old and loved it!!!! Very welcoming and helpful hosts, clean and tidy room with all we needed and just over the road from the beach. It is a very short walk into town. Activities were set up on the grass outside our sliding door so perfect for the kids. Highly recommend

A great motel. Clean and tidy. Friendly hosts. Beach towels provided as well as bath robes. Wife appreciated the makeup wipes and separate facecloth for makeup. Nice and quiet away from town. Would stay there again.

Stayed in the Premium Studio upstairs. Great view thru double bi-folding glass doors. Noise is mininal once doors and double glazed windows are closed. Great bathroom with a great shower. Well revonated. Friendly staff. Beach just across the road that has public toliets

I spent many hours looking for an accommodation option in the beautiful beachside town of Whitianga, some were cheap and old, some expensive and not sure why, then this place stood out on multiple levels! Price and value come hand in hand! *The bathrooms were immaculate and new which was delightful! *Kitchen had everything we needed and was again clean and new. * The view out the front door, even from the lower level room was stunning, plenty of ocean to see and the hills in the background were a treat. * Sky TV in the lounge which I wasn't expecting, but was perfect to watch sports and movies on. * Only a few minutes drive from the shops and literally across the road from the beach *The owner and host, Jo, had gone the extra mile for us after I had a few requests to help make our special trip up the coromandel that extra bit romantic and didn't hesitate to accommodate our needs. She is the definition of a quality motel owner!! I would highly recommend this accommodation option to any working professional, couple or even small family as it can accommodate for all travelers and their requirements. 5/5 from me, and know I will never need to search for accommodation ever again when traveling into whitianga. Well done and thank you to Jo and the team at Baileys at the Beach!

Baileys at the Beach was warm and inviting. The host was really pleasant and friendly. The rooms were very clean and tidy, also warm and cosy. I would recommend without hesitation. I would definitely give them a 10 out of 10

I stayed in delux 1 bed and the room was spotless clean especially bathroom and kitchen. I was quite impressed! Lovely and comfy stay overall and the view was amazing too. Highly recommended.

The place is superb - exactly the kind of relaxed, attentive accommodation that everywhere SHOULD be. Views are great, location is a very quick 5 minute drive to the shops and restaurants, the room (we stayed in the upstairs studio) was comfortable and spacious, etc. A few reviews have commented negatively on the noise - we closed the heavy curtains at night and had a very quiet sleep.

I booked this motel on line and was disappointed. I could not fault the cleaniness and the bed was comfortable. It was very tired and needed up grading and it was right at the end of the beach not at the town end so we could not walk for a meal we had to use the car. The tables outside at the front were all turned over so could not use them it was a windy day so could understand why although they were wooden so don't think they would have blown away. When I entered the office I was greeted by a dog , I am not an animal person so was not a great start.

We had a first floor studio room with super king bed and kitchen, it was lovely, great sea view from balcony, all newly tastefully decorated and very clean. Good quality furnishings and fittings. The owner was welcoming, kind and helpful.

We stayed in room 202 - one of the three upstairs studio units. GOOD POINTS The room was excellent. The manager / owner Jo, was very friendly. Bathroom was very modern and well appointed. Excellent condition. The shower head was the best I have ever used. Good water flow. Kitchen was modern. New fridge / freezer. We didn't use the stove, but it too was modern. The kitchen tap was odd - in that it was turn right for hot water. All of the other taps were turn right for cold water. It was most peculiar. A good quiet ceiling fan worked well, as there was no air conditioning. Lounge double doors were double glazed. They opened to a private verandah overlooking the road, beach and bay. Superb views. Pleasant in morning and evening. Too hot in the middle of the day. REALLY BAD POINTS The motel is situated at a major intersection of state highway 25. It is also on the flight path to / from the local airport. During our three night weekend stay there was a continuous cacophony of noise from revving motorcycles, high performance cars and heavy vehicles and single engine planes throughout the day and night. It was a real assault on my hearing & concentration. Awful. It seemed that petrol heads used Buffalo beach as a race track up until 03:00 on Monday morning. It was utterly horrendous. The number of planes taking off and landing made it appear like a remake of the attack on Pearl Harbour. One time I had to sleep with ear plugs in to keep out the noise. The last night I took a sleeping pill to ensure that I had a good sleep prior to a long drive. On checkout I told the owner that I would never be staying in this place again. The inherent noise surrounding the place far outweighed the fact that it was a lovely motel unit.

We liked the friendly and helpful owners. They went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Lent us shovels and towels for our visit to Hot Beach, help with our clothes washing and provided great advice on the town facilities. The family dog was great. Loved having him round our accommodation.

The room was super clean and had a beautiful view of the beach. The only negative was that there was no ac and when we arrived at 3 pm, we were worried that we would be hot but as soon as the sun went down, we were cold. The room was absolutely perfect and the owners couldn’t have been more helpful.

Lovely spacious motel units - where it is obvious that the extra mile has been taken with tasteful presentation - a view to die for - very comfortable warm bed with excellent pillows - luxury towels and all the mod-cons including dishwasher! I will definitely be going back again!!!

We spent 2 nights here. The motel was clean and the owner very friendly and helpful. She gave us info about local sights and a spade for hot water beach. It can be a bit on the noisy side though. If you are sleeping on the sofa in the lounge there is quite a bit of traffic noise because it's situated on a main road along the beach and a side street. If you are sleeping in the rear room and not an early riser then you may be unfortunate to be disturbed by thoughtlessly loud guests departing. It is probably a bit far to walk into town so it is best suited to guests with a car. Overall a very nice spot for the $$$.

This was a perfect spot for our wee family get away, with the beach across the road it made for such a great time. Thanks so much, the hotel staff were so inviting and friendly, which topped it off so nicely!

We were quite enjoyed the facilities and location overall, the beach front was great, but more improvement can be done, such as the equipment, a bit too out of date I believe.
