Der Strand ist nicht zum Baden gegeignet (zu flach, viele Felsen und viel Müll) aber dafür hat man ja den eigenen Pool.

Mención especial a Roni, del restaurante del hotel, por sus buenas recomendaciones y su ejemplar atención en cuidarnos y hacernos sentir como en casa!
Por decir algo y no siendo en realidad cosa del alojamiento, la playa preciosa que tienen enfrente tenía demasiados plásticos. Si se limpiara esta playa recogiendo esos plásticos adecuadamente y no enterrándolos en la misma playa como hemos visto, sería ya un alojamiento espectacular. Igualmente lo es. Hablamos con el alojamiento de este tema y al momento enviaron a alguien a recoger los plásticos. Fue una respuesta inmediata y estamos seguros q en nuestra próxima visita lucirá mucho más estas vistas de la playa. Aún así, fue espectacular todo.

Reviewed Jul 20, 2026Es war eine tolle Oase des Rückzugs und ich habe dort eine wunderschöne Zeit erlebt. Das Personal war herzlich zugewandt ,wertschätzend und rücksichtsvoll und trotz der vielen Arbeit haben sie sich immer Zeit genommen für einen Plausch wenn man wollte....👍👍 Insgesamt ein sehr gut geschultes Personal 👍😍🥰 sie hatten ein Ohr für jeglicher Art meiner Wünsche ( und ich hatte zu der Zeit nicht wenige.....) Es wurde sich ohne Nachfragen drum gekümmert.👍🥰 Ich wollte dort eigentlich nur vier Nächte bleiben und konnte für eine Woche verlängern Danke nochmal an dieser Stelle an den Manager dieses Resort 👍🥰👍 Ich kann diese Unterkunft aufgrund seiner Herzlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft einfach nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen Beim nächsten Mal werde ich mir noch mehr Zeit für den Norden nehmen und auf jeden Fall ist dieses Resort dann meine Anlaufstelle 👍❤️👍
Das Interieur ist bei genauer Betrachtung ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen.

Reviewed Mar 22, 2026We absolutely loved our stay here, the location is beautiful and perfect for a quiet get away to relax. Very spacious and tastefully designed rooms. The restaurant in particular was a highlight, a range of options all done exceptionally and a fantastic complimentary breakfast. We used almost all the facilities here: laundry, excursions, spa, and were incredibly happy with them. An especially huge thankyou for Mayo organising a transfer to our next accommodation despite it being the day before a big national holiday.
Only complaint would be the patchy WiFi and dated TV & DVD player (this was a nice touch but didn’t work very well) A note that it is worth buying snacks before your stay if you’d like them as you are not near by to any markets - not complaint just a recommendation!

это место видел лучшие времена, все довольны старое, дверцы у шкафа отсырели или на петлях осели, и не закрывались. Даже дозатор для мыла был сломан. неудобный чайник, неудобные выключатели, нет свободных розеток.

But they cleaned my room anyway while I had breakfast stealing over $500US from my money belt.i normally never leave this belt but I simply didn't expect the room would be cleaned.I didn't know about the missing money hat until I checked my belt two days later. This resort has very very few customers when off season so they hire freelance cleaners from outside. Never again.

Есть небольшие замечания, но плюсы и наши положительные эмоции стерли все эти мелкие минусы!!! Спасибо большое!!!

Reviewed Sep 30, 2025Sehr ruhiges und gepflegtes Anwesen…auch wenn es abgelegen ist, was wir ja bevorzugt haben, gibt es fussläufig am Strand ein tolles und wirklich gutes Restaurant. Die Ruhe ist hier Gold wert, auch der Private Strand ist super schön. Das Personal ist durchweg freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Hotel eigene Restaurant ist mehr als gut, auch das Frühstück lässt keine Wünsche offen…

Reviewed Sep 28, 2025Really lovely, small resort on the beach. The rooms are very stylish, and well appointed. We got the Green Room, with a bit of ocean view, up on first floor. The resort has its own restaurant, called Bora Bora. We had dinner there every night, good food and even better service. Open a small gate, and you are down on the beach. Look half-left and you will get a fantastic view of the sunset over Java. The resort is a bit removed from most things, so transport will be key - especially if you have plans at night. Yogis will find a yoga place a 20 mins walk away. There is another warung a bit away (Segara Mas Special Seafood), but it was too far to walk for us lazy sods. Most days we called or messaged the restaurant and had our breakfast delivered to the room. Deliciously decadent. You can have massage in the room as well. Nearby, you will find temples (Brahmavihara Arama), hot springs (Banjar), waterfalls (Git Git, Aling Aling, Sekumpul) and dolphins (hotel can fix dolphin safari, or do it yourself).
Lots to like on the premises, but the beach disappointed. It's black, volcanic sands going on for miles. But when we were there, it was too much rubbish on the beach and floating around to make it tempting to "go to the beach". So, we deducted a point there, whether that is fair or not... Instead, we stayed near the pool (which was great). You will need car or scooter to get to any other restaurants than the resort's own Bora Bora restaurant. We did not have either, and were not comfortable to walk in the dark in the company of a bunch of stray dogs.

Was in eerste instantie wat afgelegen en we waren enige gasten maar hebben het heerlijk gehad. Mede door de excursies vanaf hier geregeld.

Reviewed Sep 3, 2025The view was beautiful, and the environment was calm, natural and peaceful. Staff were all very welcoming, happy to greet us, and helpful. Wifi was good in the room but slow in the restaurant. Food and drinks in the restaurant were pretty good, we tried and liked a variety of the international and local foods. They can also bring it to the room. The view from the restaurant during sunset was amazing. It’s the perfect place to just relax and do nothing. Self sustained so everything you need (restaurant, pool, beach, room, massages) for a lazy stay is within 30 metres of each other. You can book fishing, dolphin, and other tours in reception. I can’t comment on them though as we didn’t do any. Very tasty complimentary drink on arrival.
Location is somewhat average. It’s a bit tucked away in the bush with a long thin road to access, so if you want to go into town you will definitely need a car or bike. There’s nothing within walking distance except what the villa has to offer. In room massages were 50/50. My partner said his was great, but mine was average. Not a negative towards the villa, but while we stayed here we could see the dolphin boats out in the water. There’s a lot of them and they completely surround the dolphin pods, so if you’re looking for an ethical dolphin watching tour, this is not the location to go.

Plage qui mériterait d'être un peu nettoyée. Dommage car la vue est incroyable, on n'a qu'une envie c'est d'aller se balader sur la plage et les premiers sont décevants (détritus), après cela va mieux. Le groom de la porte de la salle de bain (red villa) serait à revoir (fermeture violente et bruyante). Un forfait en demi pension (a minima) pourrait être envisagée. Pas de grab dans la région et éloigné du centre.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2025Villa mit Privatpool besitzt ein gemütliches Sofa und 2 Liegen mit direktem Meerblick. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut. Besonders der gegrillte Fisvh ist sehr zu empfehlen. Eiskaffee und Mangolassi sind hervorragend und werden auf Wunsch vom Lokal zu den Liegen gebracht.
Der Strand ist leider dreckig, das Haus in die Jahre gekommen… 4 Liegen wären für 4 Gäste im Haus toll. Vom Schlafzimmer aus kann man das Meer nicht sehen/hören. Bad und Küche waren nicht ganz sauber. Ein streunender Hund kam betteln und wurde dann mit einem Schirm verjagt.

Reviewed Aug 12, 2025Het was een geweldige plek om tot rust te komen. Een huisje in cottagestyl voor ons gezin, ruime kamers, leuk privé-zwembad en een strand aansluitend. Het ontbijt was à la carte (bij ons incl.) en de gerechten waren echt lekker. Wie tot rust wil komen, is dit echt hét uitgelezen plekje. Met voorsprong, het beste 'mini-resort' voor koppels. FANTASTISCH!
Ik raad aan om de keitjes in de douche te vervangen, door tegels of plaat, dit komt de hygiëne ten goede. Verder, enkel maar lof over ons verblijf.

The rooms are spacious and clean the pools are great and the garden is beautifully maintained! The food is delicious and the restaurant have a great sunset view. If you want quite and relaxing place i highly recommend Mayo resort! Shout out to the server at the restaurant Arta he is so great and friendly it made our stay more enjoyable!
Everything was great. Just an advice for the owners, if they are holding meeting (just because someone was complaining about mixed orders)with the staff during busy dinner time while they sitting on the table and all the staff standing,just advice to do it in private place it looked disrespectful.

We had an evening meal which we enjoyed. The included breakfast was excellent. This is a peaceful place to stay and for this price range is good value.

Reviewed May 16, 2025The resort is excellent for people who value peace, quiet, comfort and quality. The only thing that catches the eye with such good quality are worn towels and bed linen. These two elements, not insignificant but have a great impact on the feeling of comfort, because you feel like you are sleeping under unclean bed linen and drying yourself with a dirty towel. Time for a change. Please treat this as a good tip for maintaining the standard. The restaurant needs changes, the prices are too high for the quality of the dishes offered. I still give the resort 10 out of 10 asking for a refresh.

The on-site restaurant is excellent, with well-made cocktails and a solid mix of local and Western dishes. The garden studio was spacious, clean, and equipped with effective air conditioning. The massage service was very good, and boats can even pick you up directly in front of the hotel for dolphin-watching trips. Exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended.
The Wi-Fi was spotty and not very fast. A minor inconvenience overall, but I’d recommend using a data eSIM if you need reliable connectivity i.e., for online meetings or streaming.

It was a great choice, lovely little room, good pool, no issues with food and drink from restaurant. Great friendly and helpful staff. Massage was very good and very reasonably priced. Lovely hearing the sea when resting on sun lounger
The sand outside the property was a bit of a disappointment but great pool and facilities inside.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was absolutely stunning – beautifully designed, spacious, and very comfortable. We also loved spending time by the pool, which was clean, well-maintained, and offered a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant was another highlight of our stay. The variety and quality of the dishes were outstanding, with a special mention for the local cuisine. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such a special occasion. Highly recommended!
Nothing, just a small suggestion for the host: the rowing boat offered for free rental to guests could be improved by adding the missing oarlock (the metal structure that secures the oar to the boat), making it easier to use.

Reviewed Jan 2, 2025Beautiful resort located right on the coast with a black volcanic sand beach right in front of the property. Quiet and peaceful area with no crowds. It was easy to find using Google Maps and check-in was smooth. Restaurant on site catered to our every need. They even organised aspe ial New Years Eve party to ring in 2025. Staff are great and very courteous. The resort offers local tours and transportation all over the island at reasonable rates.

Reviewed Dec 26, 2024This is the first time I'm not disappointed by this kind of accomodations. Mayo Resort is just the perfect location to relax and chill out. Both the accomodations and the restaurant are reasonably priced, the staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are large, spotless and full of light. The food offer is complete and features many vegetarian options. Maybe some dishes are a bit plain but overall everything was good. The beach is clean and just steps away! a nice alternative to the swimming pool.

Reviewed Dec 25, 2024The room was spacious, had AC and enough beds for a family of 4. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The water supply and pressure was a problem, we went many days without water having to travel to the villa or room to room to find water for a shower. The beach was heavily polluted and no activities to be done. The cupboards didn’t close properly and had been damaged by termites (or something) The restaurant regularly ran out of beer.

Reviewed Dec 9, 2024It’s very quiet and serene. The beach is just steps away from the resort! Great place for silent retreat! No distractions! I would also like to commend the Staff at Mayo! From the front office; to the housekeeping; gardeners are so polite and friendly! You just feel so welcome in their resort! The restaurant staff - Lina; Putu and the team are great! They always greet you cheerfully and serve you with smile despite being short handed in the restaurant! Great team! Thank you for your service! I will be back again if time permit!

The disc player didn't work, although there were many discs with movies, but we couldn't watch them. There were a lot of flies in the bed, which the staff sprayed with an aerosol, but this caused inconvenience.

There are a couple of other eating options along the beach but you really need your own transport to go anywhere else.

Reviewed Sep 22, 2024Absolutely perfect! Nothing to complain about, the Villa is all very well, the pool facing the sea very pleasant. The staff was exceptional. Access to the beach is direct, no walking or detours. The hotel restaurant and its cocktails are great for both local and Western dishes. Absolutely perfect 10/10 without hesitation, I'll be back as soon as possible! Yes, the hotel isn't in the city, but for relaxation, enjoyment and peace and quiet, it's exceptional!
I wish I could have stayed longer! Apart from a problem of understanding on arrival which was sorted out in a few minutes, nothing to complain about. Reactive and exceptional staff.

The beach has quite a bit of trash and does not appear to be cleaned by the hotel. There are also large rocks which can be seen at low tide so high tide swimming might be challenging Bathroom had a slight sewage smell. The balcony was very large but unfortunately you can easily hear the neighbors and smell their smoke No screen on balcony doors - we would have liked to sleep to the sound of the ocean.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2024We absolutely loved our stay at the resort. The Villa was so perfect with the beautiful décor, well maintained garden and pool and the ocean view. There is nothing nicer than listening to the sound of the sea. The staff were so friendly and a helpful and nothing was ever too much. If we needed anything organised it was done staff were happy to help, from tours, to trips to organisisng my birthday celebrations. My husband and i had the most relaxing holiday. I would highly recommend a stay here and I would absolutely recommend the privacy of the villa
