Mooie en ruim opgezette locatie. Ruime kamer.
Matrassen bed erg dun en op een houten onderstel gelegen.
the whole place it was lovely,
nothing
Posizione comoda in una zona silenziosa, parcheggio comodo, pub per cenare, orario di arrivo comodo
Stanza con vasca e non con doccia, lavandino ancora con due rubinetti al posto del miscelatore, prodotti per la doccia inadeguati
Clean and cosy. Really good portions for breakfast and dinner. Quiet and really lovely staff.
Shower gel sachets weren’t quite enough for a couple of showers! But everything else was lovely.
Staff were friendly and good beer on tap.
Outdated and tired interior, odd smell in the room albeit relatively clean. Shower was terrible, clogged with limescale. I needed to bend my head over to stand at the toilet due to the sloping ceiling. The breakfast was terrible. The worst ive had in a long time. So poor in fact that I declined anything on the second night, despite it being included. Overall it felt like stepping back in to the 90s.
A lovely, old building nicely situated on the small green. Room was clean & comfortable, shower was good. I ate both dinner & breakfast, the food was very good & large portions too.
Goed bed in leuke kamer. Prima eten, ontbijt ook tiptop! Personeel ook vriendelijk en behulpzaam
Niets
The room was very comfortable and spotless
Waited for me to arrive at 1am (due to road delays) Huge breakfast and yummy yogurt Hot bath Comfortable bed Sky light - good for when it rains
Burnt toast
I requested a shower cubicle and this request was fulfilled Breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choice and the staff were polite and helpful Menu was varied for dinner and the portions on the large side Room was adequate for our needs
It was noisy at times with guests banging their doors but thankfully they were more considerate late evening Didnt really find the pub itself to be friendly
The history of the village the locals were great. Very welcoming. Fab room as we had a dog with us. We had our own garden. Perfect.
Good food friendly staff nice rooms
My parents died. They said the bedroom was large and comfortable in the breakfast was fantastic.
location
Stuffy room, the window wasn't open when I arrived late at night (probably could not be helped because of the hot weather) Tv didn't work other than on a couple of obscure channels and QVC! Breakfast - no refill offered on coffee, only packaged sugary cereal/yoghurt. scrambled egg really over cooked and dry. Basic toast. Very young (summer holidays) staff who didn't really know how to attend.
Nice old building,
The furniture in the room could do with a makeover plus the cold tap in the basin didn’t work
Catering is exceptional
Little concerned about lack of fire door or self closure in room A.
The welcome was genuine. The food was home cooked and excellent.
It’s a little tired but I cannot really fault it for that.
Spacious rooms with big comfy beds and lovely bedding and towels. Good breakfast included, well cooked and plentiful. Dinner was also excellent food large portions leaving no room for desert!
Bathroom was a bit cramped and a shelf for toiletries and hook on back of door or a towel rail would have been helpful. Although we had reserved a table for dinner at 6.30 when service began, and were there to give our order at that time, we had to wait almost an hour before our food arrived.. The waitress was very pleasant (said they were very busy) but others must have been served before us. We were a large group (8) and the food was lovely, but it did seem a long wait
Breakfast was great, Room was nice enough, bit small. Only issue is that this site clearly states there's a fridge but that's not the case for every room. Mine did not have one.
Staff were very nice. Had dinner in the pub which was excellent.
Double room was very small. Pillows were as flat as pancakes. Pillows kept falling behind bed as bed had no headboard. No wardrobe to hang up a long dress for a wedding the next day. The room backed onto the entrance of a gravel car park which was very noisy as cars came in and out. The room had no windows , just sky lights which had to be left open as it was so hot. Not a good nights sleep.
Just perfect. Grounds are amazing. Rooms are stunning. Bed very comfortable. Staff brilliant.
No negatives.
It was close to where we were going.
We ordered our breakfast and we knew who would be served in which order and 2 tables were served before us and they ordered after us, when I asked about it I was told it came out in the right order which it did not!
Convenient stopping point, bike friendly, helpful staff
I thought the room was comfortable, with new soap and nice big bath towels. The breakfast was freshly cooked and the toast and continental section were exceptional.
Tv
Staff and locals very friendly and chatty. Staff couldn't do enough for you. The food was lovely when it arrived. Waited 50 mins from point of order. But was notified when ordering that there was a wait on in the kitchen. Bed was comfy in room.and managed a decent sleep. Breakfast next morning was beautiful and set me up for the day ahead.
Rooms are dated and could do with a freshen up. But very comfy bed.
When I first booked we were out off by some of the negative reviews but we found it a lovely place with good food and friendly staff and excellent location. Our room was a bit tired but it was clean and we slept very well
Nothing
Room and the house we were in was lovely and suited us well. Breakfast was very good but found the lunch/dinner menu lacked options if you didn't want pub food. Other than that was a very nice place to stay and would recommend it.
Location near where we needed (wedding)
Bed was not as comfy as we’d have hoped.
Geweldige accommodatie. Pub/hotel. Mooie bosrijke omgeving. Lekker eten. Zeer vriendelijk personeel.
Location was spot on for my work needs
Nothing
Vriendelijkheid
Quiet location.
The second night I stayed in one of the cottages. Good value, but very poorly maintained.
The location was convenient, the staff friendly a the food was very good..
A little old fashioned for my taste
Great place, lovely staff and amazing food. I would recommend the Cottage pie
Good location
Slow breakfast service
Very clean Good food Great staff
Location and garden
Decor tired and bathroom not very clean. The notice about staff shortage may have impacted on this.
In a great village Comfortable room, good size
Dated bathroom and room decoration.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Great breakfast.
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was good and nice to have some flexibility on what you could order . Pub meals were also very good . Have stayed here before and would visit again . We only stayed two nights but they changed towels and cleaned room . Really enjoyed it
Was all ok and what we expected
A lovely old inn in a pretty village square. The room was easily accessible, well equipped and comfortable. The dinner meal in the bar was very nice and served with a smile by the attentive staff. A good range of beers on sale and plenty of seating. Breakfast was superb. Well cooked, very tasty and plenty of it - I would go back just for that!!
In the current high temperatures a fan in the room would have been a nice touch and I think this is the only place I have ever stayed that doesn’t provide soap, shower gel etc. Thankfully I travel with my own!
A charming oldy world pub/hotel. Really warm welcome and lovely staff. Great breakfast! Lovely rn suite.
The room was quite hot, up the top of the roof, after a hot day. They’d left a fan, which helped, but difficult to get any sleep.
Evening meal and breakfast were excellent. A lovely ploughman's dinner and English breakfast. My room had the choice of a single and a double bed and plenty of room for hanging clothes in a spacious wardrobe. Nice and clean with large towels and hand soap.
If I were being extremely picky, the shower was a tiny bit tricky as it hung off the mounting hook a little bit unevenly. When running it was no issue at all and there was plenty of hot water for a good scrub. As I travel on business, the WIFI in the room was a bit slow to carry on with my work.
Ruhige Lage. Gutes Frühstück Urige Kneipe
Sehr kleines Badezimmer Kein richtiger Schreibtisch im Zimmer.
everything
nothing
Nice and Cozy with the touch of History
I was too tall for my room 😁
Lovely stay Lovely breakfast
The staff and food were excellent, all set in a lovely place . Liked the outdoor garden . Was very easy to locate and set in a beautiful little village.
The double bed in our room was so soft it was hurting my back and made sleeping with my husband uncomfortable however being lucky enough to have been placed in a family room I switched myself to the single bed which was perfect for a good sleep.
Think the accomadation was fantastic, had a cottage to our selves which was perfect for the kids to have there own room and then breakfast the next morning was so accomadating, the kids enjoyed the stay and the staff was so friendly.
Friendly staff Good food Facilities for our puppy fantastic
Great location Pleasant and helpful staff Food excellent- good pub grub done well
Nothing
The bar and breakfast was exepctional
Room a bit run down in parts such as the carpet and bathroom facilities
Friendly
Dated
I've stayed at the Crown several times before. This time though, we were shown to the charming flint stone 'Swiss Cottage', which was absolutely lovely, and made our stay really special. I only had one pint, but the Volt IPA in the bar was superb.
Absolutely nothing.
I've been 6 times before. That should say it all.
Nothing
Lovely old style hotel in a stunning little village. The hotel were very accomodating as i’d booked a family room & had a disabled child with us so the hotel offered to put us in the cottage instead as it was more ground level. The cottage was stunning and much bigger than we expected. Beds were comfy and we had a great stay. Breakfast was also very nice.
We had no hot water in the cottage but it wasn’t a major problem for us.
We stayed here due to attending a wedding in the village of the hotel. Really short walk. They had a fan in the room due to extremely warm weather when we stayed. The breakfast was really nice probably best bit about the hotel
Room undersized and felt extremely cramped, bed really small would say it was smaller than a standard double. No sanitary bin the bathroom or bin of any sorts in the bathroom wife wasn’t so keen on this. Steps to room very steep but this is due to age of property so not much to be done about that very difficult if you have mobility issues even minor. The showerhead could have done with a good scrub or replacement.
Location , outdoor space and food was all very good
Bathroom (Room 14) didn’t have a towel rail or anywhere to put a damp/wet towels
The property was lovely. Very oldie worldy.
The room was a bit warm with weather and the bed was a bit hard.
Good breakfast choices and kind staff.
Heating less high; I turned down rafiator
It was a good location for the things I’d planned to see over the weekend - Halls and Arboretum
The double room was a bit too basic - clean and tidy but lacked any touches
Location location location - superb breakfast - friendly staff - quirky old historic building - nice beers
A longer bar area...
Friendly staff
No hot water first morning
Clean room and bathroom, easy access from annex back into main pub, no issues with parking, ordering bar food no problem and plenty of options for seating, I sat in side 'snug' bar which was a little quieter for Friday & Saturday nights, a range of clientele but all good natured and nothing rowdy; ample breakfast on both days meant didn't have to buy overpriced food at Snetterton circuit...
Nothing really obvious, a bit further from circuit (off the main A11) than I would normally choose as was 'working', but the drive through Thetford Forest made up for that...
Location was excellent for my trip Breakfast was great.Fresh cooked breakfast. Room quite small but did the job.
T.v kept loosing signal. Extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work.
A lovely old pub. The little room in the attic was cute and comfortable.
From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional. We received such a warm welcome, and our cottage was beautifully presented, stylishly furnished and far beyond what you’d expect from a typical hotel suite. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, with linen and towels that felt pristine. The pub is a delight: cosy, inviting, and full of warmth. Dinner was superb, with both starters and mains cooked perfectly. Regrettably, we couldn’t manage dessert. The staff deserve particular praise — attentive, knowledgeable, and consistently friendly throughout our stay. Thank you to the entire Crown Hotel team. We look forward to returning.
Having to leave - Wish our stay was longer.
nice old character full hotel, friendly, clean, good breakfast , nice dinner
single room small but nice, top of hotel, poor water preasure
Very friendly
Ancient and great pub, very much alive and the heartbeat of the village. Multiple dining spaces, Bar, restaurant, private dining, food was great, not gastro-pretentious, just classics done well. Staff were also great, especially the hotel and breakfast hosting team.
Single rooms a bit bare, Worn - but that part of its charm. Showers could be a bit cleaner.
Food was really bad.
Food was good. Location ideal for walking. Comfortable bed. Lovely traditional bar and welcoming log fire, plus a good choice of beers. The 17th century building has lots of character.
Bathroom decor starting to look a little tired. Parking space is limited and we sometimes had to park along the road from the hotel.
The building is amazing, the staff were very friendly, polite, and helpful. The food was great. Parking was good.
The window in our room didn't close completely, letting in a cold draft. The toilet door would not shut completely so couldn't be locked.
Everything.
Nothing
Location for what we wanted to do. Staff very friendly and great service. Lovely cosy bar.
Rooms were a bit cold in the evenings. Radiators only seemed to come on in a morning.
Breakfast could have been warmer
Really nice breakfast
Everything was nice as expected
Excellent facilities, ideal for my stay.
First class breakfast
Food was good, staff friendly as you'd expect. Nice ambience in a lovely old pub.
I did not enjoy getting woken up at 05:00 by the chef and staff chatting loudly outside my bedroom window!
Very clean room with super comfortable bed. Great bar and friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast.
It was in a small village and very quiet. The breakfast was very good. All staff friendly and helpfull.
There was not any negative things to say.
The Crown is in a good location and was convenient for our visit to Grimes Graves
This could be a really good hotel but it needs some serious upgrading. The decor is 1980s. It is shabby. Our room was small (too small) and had poor furnishings. The bathroom was a disaster. The shower had black mould. The plastic shower curtain is well overdue for replacement and half of the floor tiles were cracked. Service in the restaurant was poor. It took exactly one hour for our main course to be delivered. The food was bland and unexciting.. The decor in the restaurant is so dated. Where else would you find an old floral fitted carpet on the floor of the restaurant! When we checked in we were immediately handed a credit card machine (before being shown the room) and told he had to pay then. I don’t object to paying in advance but the way it was done made me feel like a criminal.
Very clean, fantastic building, good was great.
Parking is a bit limited
Breakfast was fast, breakfast staff lovely, room nice,
Bedroom carpet dirty stains, although breakfast was fast obviously not as fresh as it could be due to this. Coffee could be nicer. Check in process was a little confusing and slow.
Old fashioned pub
Lots of dust on the bathroom radiator and extractor fan, also glasses and cups dusty as were the tops of the curtains. Black mould around the shower tray. Lack of attention to detail. One hand towel rather worn around the edges. Some of the Cooked breakfast was cold.
Lovely food in restaurant and friendly staff
Bathroom was extremely small and nowhere to put any toiletries. Floor was cold as it was stone tiles
