Wonderful, comfortable stay. The included breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The views from the pool are absolutely stunning.

The only thing to note that it was a little difficult to find Uber drivers willing to travel to Casa Geraniol. This was not a problem since we could always catch a taxi within a minute or two of waiting outside but just something to note. Also, the stairs are steep and narrow which was not a problem for us but something to note for people with mobility issues.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts and staff were so friendly, the amenities were fabulous, it was very clean and the breakfast was amazing.

Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr besonders. Der Garten, die Terrasse, der Pool… Wir hatten das Zimmer ganz oben mit dem Balkon und haben den Ausblick und die Ruhe genossen. Das Frühstück ist sehr schön gemacht. Es kommt jeden Tag anders aufbereitet direkt an den Tisch, mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Santa Teresa ist ein spannendes und alternatives Viertel und tagsüber steht Erkundungen zu Fuß nichts im Weg. Besonders toll fanden wir, dass wir am letzten Tag zu fairen Konditionen noch den Pool weiter nutzen konnten, unser Gepäck sicher verstaut war und wir sogar eine Dusche mit allem drum und dran zur Verfügung hatten. Dadurch hatten wir trotz sehr spätem Flug einen tollen Abschluss. Die Gastgeber sind sehr präsent und Teil der besonderen Atmosphäre. Sie haben uns einige tolle Tipps gegeben.

Un hotel especial i únic que és un recés de pau al centre de Rio (Lapa / Santa Teresa). El jardí és preciós i frondós, la casa principal és preciosa. Finalment el tracte de tot el personal, des de la parella de propietaris fins als treballadors (en particular les noies de l'esmorzar), ens ha fet sentir com a casa. Per cert l'esmorzar és nutritiu i excel·lent. Un plaer.

Eu amei este hotel. Sempre prefiro hotéis boutique, e escolhi este principalmente pela vista e pelo quarto. Foi aqui que decidi fazer meu pedido de casamento, e não poderia ter escolhido um lugar melhor. A vista, as instalações, o atendimento... tudo parecia feito para tornar esse momento ainda mais especial. Nós queríamos um lugar tranquilo, confortável, reservado e que proporcionasse uma experiência inesquecível, e foi exatamente isso que encontramos. Não consigo imaginar uma escolha melhor. O café da manhã foi, sem dúvida, o melhor café da manhã que já tive em um hotel. Já me hospedei em hotéis de luxo, como o Four Seasons, e mesmo assim este hotel conseguiu oferecer algo que poucos conseguem: uma experiência realmente personalizada. Você sente que as pessoas estão ali, de verdade, para cuidar de você e fazer com que sua estadia seja perfeita. As instalações são impecáveis e a sensação de estar cercado pela natureza torna tudo ainda mais especial. Ficamos na suíte com piscina privativa, e foi uma das melhores decisões da viagem. Valeu cada centavo. É um daqueles lugares que você vai embora já pensando em quando poderá voltar.

Casa Geranio is an absolute gem! We stayed for 5 night in the Carioca Suite and it was more beautiful than the photos convey. The place is beautifully designed. Claudio and Gabriel are very generous hosts. I can honestly say that the serve the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Staying five days meantbthat we could see how much care went into it, different serveware and table dressings, different smoothies, cakes fruit salad, eggs, charcuterie... it was amazing. We also appreciated Claudio's recommendations on things to do- it meant we had experiences in Rio that we otherwise would have not. Thank you so much!

Todos os funcionários eram muito educados e engajados a nos ajudar. Todos os problemas foram resolvidos. O quarto era muito bonito e confortável, com roupas de cama e toalhas de extrema qualidade. A localização é excelente para quem quer se afastar da loucura do RJ, além de proporcionar belas vistas do alto da cidade.

O único ponto de melhoria no quarto é o espaço do box do banheiro, que é um pouco apertado. A entrada é de difícil acesso (excesso de escadas), portanto pessoas com mobilidade reduzida teriam dificuldades para acessar a propriedade. O ponto que mais deixou a desejar na nossa opinião foi o café da manhã. Como a modalidade não é self-service e não há um cardápio pré-estabelecido, ficamos a mercê do que temos disponível naquele dia sem a possibilidade de escolha. Isto na minha opinião fomenta o desperdício e não dá muita flexibilidade para o hóspede, podendo ser um problema para pessoas com restrições alimentares.

Gastvrijheid van de eigenaar en personeel. Ontbijt was leuk met veel oog voor detail. Het huis was op een hele mooie manier tegen een berg aan gebouwd, iets wat je niet vaak ziet. Ook hebben ze twee leuke honden.

Warm water duurt wat lang om te krijgen maar dan moet je gewoon even wachten.

The shower was not very hot and was a bit weak. Also I missed a good expresso in the morning.

The room was less quiet than I had hoped. Close to the street where you hear the cars on the cobblestones. Nothing they can do about but less quiet than I had hoped.

J’ai tout aimé : - le petit déjeuner est fabuleux, le meilleur repas que j’ai mangé au Brésil - le personnel est bienveillant; disponible, aux petits soins - je me suis sentie comme chez ma tatie qui aime recevoir - la décoration est magnifique - le service de ménage est parfait. - la communication est facile et rapide - l’aspect nature en plein cœur du centre ville - la localisation - les singes qui sont bien traités et qui s’approchent le matin J’ai fait des dizaines voire centaines d’hôtels dans le monde et c’est l’un de mes préférés à coup sûr. Dommage qu’on ne puisse pas mettre plus de 10/10 pour ce type d’établissement hors norme. Si j’ai la chance de revenir à Rio je réserverai cet hôtel et je le conseillerai à tous les gens que je connais. Tout est pensé et réfléchi pour le confort du client, rien n’a été oublié, chapeau!

The breakfast was great.

The location is a bit far and rough area. No lifts so high hike upstairs. Limited facilities like no hot water for tea or coffee. We had to carry our own luggage to the bottom as there is nobody around early in morning and we did advise that we were leaving early.

Really amazing stays

Sehr schöne Unterkunft mit einem tollen Blick, nettem Personal und einem außergewöhnlichen Frühstück. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten von Santa Teresa sind fußläufig sehr schnell erreichbar.

Le personnel et les gérants sont très aimables et disponibles. Le petit déjeuner est fantastique ! Le cadre est magnifique et la présence des petits singes rajoute une touche de magie au séjour.

Le manque d'insonorisation dans la suite gingembre, on entend tous les bruits de la rue pavée qui passe devant et les aboiements des chiens voisins toute la nuit comme si on était dehors. Il manque un plateau de courtoisie dans la chambre avec du thé et café à disposition en dehors des heures d'ouverture du petit déjeuner. Les toilettes ne sont pas isolées du reste de la chambre, seule une porte en verre flouté les séparent du reste de la pièce, mais qui ne ferme pas jusqu'au plafond, donc aucune intimité a ce moment là... Et on est obligé de tenir la porte avec notre pied car elle ne tient pas en position fermée.

Der Ausblick und der private Pool (der Pool für alle Gäste sah ebenfalls fabelhaft aus) waren einfach wunderbar. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls liebevoll zu bereitet und am Tisch serviert. Die Ausstattung war den Bildern entsprechend. Wir haben uns wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt! Mit ein paar Minuten Gehweg ist man an schönen Restaurants und Bars. Das Bett war super bequem und für die Gepäckaufbewahrung gab es auch eine super Lösung, es wurde sogar eine Umkleide mit Dusche zur Verfügung gestellt.

Die Unterkunft hatte ein verhältnismäßig strenges Regelwerk, essen und trinken in bestimmten Bereichen erlaubt, Gäste müssen angemeldet werden...vllt braucht es das damit es so überaus ordentlich bleibt aber es wirkt erstmal abschreckend.

Hotel wirkt von außen top, innen Flop!

Leider machten wir mehrere unschöne Erfahrungen! Das Hotel wirkt schon, der Service der Inhaber ist aber an Unfreundlichkeit nicht mehr zu überbieten. Wir kamen um 13 Uhr ins Hotel, checkin war um 14 Uhr und legten uns an den Pool, um die Zeit zu überbrücken. Hier war außer uns niemand! Der Inhaber kam zu uns und machte uns eine Ansage, dass wir gefälligst nur zwei anstatt vier Liegen nutzen sollen und wir den Pool noch gar nicht nutzen dürfen, da checkin erst nach 14 Uhr ist! Wir lagen 5 Minuten auf den Wasserliegen und nochmal: außer uns war niemand am Pool! Beim Frühstück wurde das Personal vor allen Gästen angeschrien, dass sie unfähig seien und der Inhaber hat alles möglich verbessert zb die Serviette um 3mm verschoben. Pünktlich um 11 Uhr haben wir das Zimmer verlassen und legten uns, bis zum Abflug, an den Pool. Hier war außer uns niemand. Dann kamen die Inhaber zu uns und wollten ernsthaft 120 Real pro Person, da wir den Pool noch nutzen! Das ist an Dreisigkeit nicht mehr zu überbieten und reinste Abzocke! Nochmal: das Hotel ist sehr schön, aber die Inhaber versauen alles daran! Ein Boutique Hotel sein wollen aber Service stimmt null!! Sowas haben wir noch nie erlebt, schade. Wir würden es nicht mehr buchen!

We had a great stay at Casa Geranio. We loved the view from the pool, the wonderful breakfasts and the friendly staff. We enjoyed walking up into Santa Teressa and being close to the bars in Lapa. Would definitely come again.

In the lower room you can hear the classic tram and some cars from the street starting early morning, but it’s part of the neighborhood vibe and at around 21:00 it was quiet again and didn’t really disturb us.

Very tranquil and serene. Staff are very courteous and helpful. Great neighbourhood.

La chambre était plutôt sombre et mal insonorisée, mais sinon belle. Contrairement aux hôtels, l’établissement facture un supplément si vous souhaitez rester à l’hôtel et utiliser la piscine après votre Check out

Im Casa Geranio versteht man, was es heißt Gastgeber zu sein. In dieser kleinen Oase kann man dem hektischen Treiben entfliehen und sich nach einem anstrengenden Tag erholen. Claudio und sein Team sind einfach perfekt und man fühlt sich rundum zufrieden. Jeden Tag gibt es ein anderes, frisch zubereitetes Frühstück, welches einem bereits den Morgen versüßt.

Het is een prachtig hotel waar je goed tot rust kunt komen. Het ontbijt is heerlijk en zeer uitgebreid. De kamers zijn smaakvol ingericht.

Super Lage und sehr freundliches Personal (auch wenn sie manchmal etwas schwierig zu finden sind). Am Pool gibt es kostenfrei Handtücher für die Liegen und beim Frühstück wird sich wirklich jeden Tag aufs Neue viel Mühe gegeben, es gibt immer andere Süßspeisen, Säfte und andere Tischdeko. Für meinen Partner wurde sogar extra Glutenfreie Brot besorgt, nachdem sie am ersten Tag mitbekommen haben, dass er normales nicht essen kann.

Everything! It is obvious how much care has been put in to the property, the service and its maintenance. Claudio and Gabriel were incredible hosts, so kind and caring and keen to ensure we had the best stay possible. We stayed in the Carioca suite which was incredible, beautifully designed and a real retreat. We loved the private plunge pool and the amazing views from so many angles. The location itself is very special — Santa Teresa is a really special place, and Casa Gerânio is nested in the beautiful jungle hill within in. The breakfast was also AMAZING, and they were able to cater for my food intolerances without me feeling like I was missing out. All the staff were also so eager to help and ensure we were well looked after.

The breakfast on the terrace was phenomenal! We really loved our stay, really felt like a special start for our holiday in Brasil! We are kinda sorry that we only stayed two nights - could have been more!

The neighbourhood of Santa Teresa is not for beginner travellers, just make sure to follow what the owners tell you to do!

Die geschmackvolle Einrichtung der Zimmer, die wunderschöne Außengestaltung des Frühstücks- und Poolbereiches. Die liebevollen Details. Die Herzlichkeit der Angestellten. Das abwechslungsreiche liebevoll angerichtete Frühstück.

Dass es keine Möglichkeit für Snacks zum Abend gibt. Es wäre schön, wenn es wenigstens ein paar typisch brasilianische Kleinigkeiten im Angebot geben würde. Aber schlimm ist es auf keinen Fall, weil es genug Restaurants in der Nähe gibt.

Le décor soigné et de très bon goût, propreté des lieux, vue sur la ville, qualité de la literie, taille de la chambre, un petit-déjeuner exceptionnel, et le propriétaire au petit soin, ainsi que son personnel. L’endroit est calme aussi. Jouissance d’une piscine et d’un jardin dont l’aménagement invite à la détente!

Santa Teresa est un super quartier mais la rue étant très calme le soir, il faut prendre des uber pour tout déplacement la nuit tombée, parfois ils ont du mal à arriver.

The property is a wonderful boutique hotel located in the heart of Santa Teresa . The beds are comfortable and there is a lot of thought and intention behind the design of the casa. The staff was extremely wonderful. Astrid was welcoming and always going out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Claudio was always checking in on us and helping answer our myriad questions and giving us the best recommendations on where to go. The breakfast at the hotel was great too- they provided us fresh fruit, smoothies and homemade pastries. Would highly recommend staying here

Great location although not in the tourist areas, we loved the location and how unique and artsy it was. Really easy getting around with uber anyway. The room was also really amazing with an amazing view and pool overlooking the main pool area. Truly a view to die for. The breakfast was different each day with some amazing homemade cakes. The owners and the staff were really friendly, attentive and incredibly helpful.

This is the most beautiful place to stay! We enjoyed it so much, we felt safe and everyone was so nice. The owner helped us so much because the airline lost one of our suitcases. He contacted them while we were explaining the city. Thank you so much again. He also gave us so many good recommendations, and whenever we had questions, we could write to him. We absolutely can recommend this beautiful place and I hope we come back one day.

Esse hotel parece um sonho, em harmonia com a natureza, nos faz sentir numa floresta exótica e com muito luxo... A decoração é perfeita, elegante, leve, alegre. Tem uma vista incrível!!! Perfeito pra quem quer explorar Santa Teresa sem pressa... E o café da manhã é uma experiência deliciosa!!!
