Santa Helena Hotel Ialysos

Good hotel just outside yalisos. Nice building with a minimal aesthetic. Great courtesy and service, good breakfast. Nice pool garden. Anyway the rooms are big but outdated in style. Room cleaning way below average (the floor was never vacuum cleaned even when I got into the hotel - there were hair of every color and type that remained for my whole week but I didn't care too much because I was out every day). Daily room service but floor cleaning was also done with a dirty mop that left a bad smell in the room for hours. I also think the bathroom surfaces especially tiles were left uncleaned. Cannot smell any kind of detergent. Prefer the rooms toward the pool because the road side is noisy due to very nasty scooters with open mufflers speeding also at night but not too often.

To be very honest for the cost, we experienced a small simple friendly and clean hotel with a lovely pool However there is not anything there after 7pm and you will be much better off hiring a vehicle as the walk into Ialysos is not ideal but all in all pretty good

Hotel staff are nice but often not even around, there was no more than 2 staff at a time and was sometimes just waiting at reception for 15 mins with nobody around.location is nice but it’s a little far from everything and you’d need to walk 15-20 mins in the heat with no shade. You’d definitely need a car to see things on the island as there are more stray cats than taxis on the island. Hotel room was very outdated and dirty, cleaner didn’t clean or sweep the whole time we was there. Only came in to fold towels at the end of the bed. Other people’s hair on bathroom floor and main floor/under beds from previous customers. And hotel breakfast was very limited and a little bland/stale. Other then water, the drinks were very expensive! Soft drinks are €7 for 2 but down the road are €1.20 each. Wouldn’t really recommend unless you want to save money and don’t care about cleanliness.

Very helpfull staff (helped with car rental, taxi to airport...). Close to restaurant and town while in a quiet area.

Struttura tranquilla a 1 km dai negozi, nelle vicinanze ristorante e market vari. Colazione dolce e salata a buffet abbondante, servizio gentilissimo e pulizia ottima.

It is a very nice small hotel with clean pool, garden and parking lot, located in a quiet neighbourhood. It is pretty far away from the beach and the tourist area, but close to the Filarimos Park, so everything is green around it; this is exactly what we were looking for. There are restaurants and shops at about a 10 minutes walk. The staff was friendly and helpful and shared some tips and tricks about places to visit on the island or to eat in Ialyssos. The room was clean with very comfortable beds, towels were changed almost every day, the AC worked properly. The big balcony had a string to hang ower towels. The bathroom needs some improvement, there is some calcium build up but it is clean (cleaning was done every day). The breakfast was simple and kind of repetitive, but it was good. All in all, we had a relaxing time and enjoyed our stay to the full. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a nice, quiet stay, away from the town's bustle.

Trevlig personal, rena rum.

My wife and I have just spent 9 nights here and had a fabulous time we arrived in the early hours to a lovely letter written by Vangelis the owner with the room key. The room was huge and a good standard for a 3 star having had a good few trips to Greece the bathroom was probably one of the nicest and the breakfast was more than adequate for the rating and we were well treated by the freindly family and staff. The nearest taverna is a ten minute walk then more around 15 to 20 and the strip and beach around 25 minutes, the hotel is semi rural but that didn't put us off we liked the peace and quiet and only one small criticism was a few of the towels were past their best but were changed every few days

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Walk to bus or to beach. Very clean. Beautiful pool area. Good breakfast. Quality stay for the price. Rhodes is a wonderful travel destination with great, affordable food and very friendly people. I felt very safe here and look forward to my next visit. 🏖️😘😎Thank you

Very clean, great breakfast and very clean pool Very close to everything with scooter or car Kitesurf very close, many good restaurants Always a bit wind to cool down Thanks to Vangelis for great hosting

We have just spent a night here before catching a flight back home, but we’ll undoubtedly be back the next time we are in Rhodes. This is a beautiful family-run 22-room hotel. Our room was huge and extremely clean. The hotel is a short drive (ten minutes or so) into Rhodes and is in a lovely landscaped property with a big swimming pool. After Rhodes Town it is a haven of peace. The owner, Evangelis, is a lovely man who speaks excellent English. He was very helpful to me, as I am visually impaired. If you are lucky enough to stay here, make sure you allow lots of time foe breakfast which is far too copious - eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, cold meats, yoghurt, all sorts of delicious baked goods, juice, coffee, tea, etc. All this served outside on the large patio with the tree-covered mountain in the background. If things work out, we’ll be back next year with our family for a longer holiday.

We booked one night here at the last minute when our flight was changed to an evening flight, so that we would have somewhere close to the airport, to relax and shower at on the last day. The warmest of welcomes on our arrival at reception to check in and get an airport taxi booked, then promptly on to our room. The room was fine for our needs - clean and bright with a balcony and effective air con fan. The pool area is in a beautiful setting with trees all around as far as you can see and a welcome breeze. Comfortable loungers spaced out well for social distancing and a table for each pair. Well stocked bar to get drinks from. The bathroom is a little dated in style and condition, but, it was clean with a great power shower with piping hot water and that's the main thing. 10 min taxi ride to the airport. A great little find.

Sehr schönes familiengeführtes Hotel. Ruhig gelegen in einer Wohngegend. Frühstück sehr gut. Angenehmer als in den Hotelkomplexen. Zum Strand 10 Minuten Fußmarsch. In der Umgebung Supermarkt und Restaurants.

We had a very relaxing stay here. Very good and pleasant place, large swimming pool, nice and spacious room with comfortable bed. Big balcony for quiet evenings. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Ottimo hotel qualità prezzo. Colazione abbondante personale molto cordiale.

They made us feel very welcome and it felt like a real good family owned hotel. The pool was a good size and it was great to see people enjoying the pool without towels being thrown over sunloungers and not being used. Its a little walk to the main town and beach but there is a really good restaurant near the football ground which is about a ten minute walk away.

Kindly staff and owner, Good breakfast with basic products. Clean and comfortable swimming pool.

A super cozy and hospitable family hotel located in a wonderfully quiet location in Filerimos on beautiful Rhodes. The owners are really incredibly helpful and provide a delicious breakfast daily. The rooms, the swimming pool and the complex guarantee carefree enjoyment Vincent & Willie de Zwaan

Stayed last week in September. It was very clean hotel. Rooms were superb. It was so peaceful. Breakfast was continental but some cooked eggs and ham great to start the day. Pool area lovely and spotless. Walk to beach takes 30 mins but a nice walk. We walked it twice a day. Bus to Rhodes on main road. Owners make you very welcome. We got caught in torrential rain the day we were going home. With still 3 hours to kill. The owners gave us a room no charge to dry off and relax till pick up. I would not hesitate to come back to this hotel and would highly recommend it. It like a 5 star for the price you pay

Posto molto bello ideale per le famiglie.

The hotel itself was pretty good, the service could have been better, but let me tell you that the cucumber in the breakfasat was something incredible!! About a 20 minutes walk to the beach in a quiet and safe Place. The center of yalissos and the bus station to Rhodes is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel, so it's not too far away. The hotel is good for families or for a relaxing vacation.

Alt for mange lokale personer.

Great location for us as we hired a car. There's a couple of restaurants and small shops local in walking distance and the hotel is on a quiet road. I would say this is a very good budget hotel, nice staff.

We stayed 10 days in the beginning of October in This hotel. Only a few guests. Breakfast was the same Every day. The pool is Great. For the rest not much to do in the area. You need a car/scooter to get around. Walk to the nearest restaurant is 20 minetes. To the Beach it is 40 minets.

camere poco confortevoli, biancheria nn proprio candida, fuori mano da tutto, colazione scadente con poca scelta è scarsa qualità. formiche in camera e pulizie nn fatte tutti i gg.ottima solo x risparmiare...

The hotel itself is not located close to the beach (40 minute walk to the closest beach) and the pool closes at 8 just by the time when you would actually want to use it. The breakfast is dull (no fruit, no fried or scrambled eggs, no fresh juices, hard bread) and every day it's the same breakfast, no variation. Air conditioning costs 6 eur extra per day but during the night it's quite nice just to leave the doors open when being towards the road. Beware of the noise though as squad bikes, trucks and other vehicles will be driving during the night and early morning so have your ear plugs nearby.

The family make us feel so welcome. The food is fantastic. Very clean and comfortable. Very restful by the pool. Lovely walk to the beach at Ialysos . And only a short bus journey to the old town of Rhodes. An early morning walk up the mountain to the Monastery of Filerimos is highly recommended .

Family run hotel, on a quiet road in Ialyssos, the staff are very accommodating and friendly. A lovely 15 min walk into the centre of Ialyssos through the village passing little cafe's and local shops on the way. 30 min walk to the beach and buses to Rhodes Town run regularly from the main road.

Great hotel located only a short bus ride from Rhodes Town, also close to Filermou Mountain with its Cross and Monastery (both well worth a visit). Hotel and café very clean and food is wonderful. staff are very kind and helpful too. If you stay or even if you just passing you should pop in and try the cocktails!!

The Santa Helena is a wonderful oasis of calm. If you do like a relaxing holiday but do need food and drink the Santa Helena has a fully stocked bar and a nice little menu. It also has wonderful outside lounging areas both poolside and front of hotel. ROOM- We were given a ground floor room just off the pool area and facing the road and open countryside. The room was very big and simple style but we liked it because of this and it was actually quite cool even though the air conditioning (included in the price) worked beautifully when we tried it. The beds were clean and comfortable and bed linen and towels were changed every day which was most welcome. There is a fridge, sink and kettle all of which worked just fine. All balconies are generous in size. It should be noted that all road / countryside facing rooms will probably be a lot cooler than pool facing rooms as they face almost directly West. Bathroom is standard size and basic but this didn't bother us as there was good hot water for a thorough clean and fresh towels every day. Poolside - The pool is well maintained and clean.BREAKFAST - ours was included in the price and was simple and tasty.

We had stayed in Rhodes the year before. Same area but close to the sea. The Santa Helena is by no means close to the sea but instead is a wonderful oasis of calm away from noisier elements. Set in a rural area the Santa Helena is a great place to get away from it all and relax. That's not to say it's isolated because it's not. A 10/15 minute stroll will take you to the main road where you can get buses to airport or (in the opposite direction) a 15 minute ride to Rhodes Town. We didn't hire a car or scooter but we noticed other hotel guests did and of course could set off to wherever they liked. If you do like a relaxing holiday but do need food and drink laid on then don't worry as the Santa Helena has a fully stocked bar (bottled beer though /no draught) and a nice little menu which will go a long way towards settling your appetite with all dish ingredients locally sourced (many from hotel garden) and all food homemade. It also has wonderful outside lounging areas both poolside and front of hotel. ROOM- We were given a ground floor room just off the pool area and facing the road and open countryside. We had asked for a room on the upper level (we liked the idea of leaving the windows open at night / feeling safe doing so) and were told we could move the next day but we decided to keep the room as it's raised up and off the ground floor. The room was very big and simple style but we liked it because of this and it was actually quite cool even though the air conditioning (included in the price) worked beautifully when we tried it. The beds were clean and comfortable and bed linen and towels were changed every day which was most welcome (they have one maid and she was a lovely smiling woman who worked very hard so take a moment to say hello and at the end of your stay it might be nice to thank her). These are not self catering facilities but there is a fridge, sink and kettle all of which worked just fine. All balconies at the Santa Helena are generous in size and we made full use ours especially after returning back from a night out where we would pour a glass of wine and just sit chatting and looking up at the stars. It should be noted that all road / countryside facing rooms will probably be a lot cooler than pool facing rooms as they face almost directly West (rooms looking onto pool are East facing so catch the rising sun then full sun until about 3/4pm -ish). The bathroom is standard size and basic but this didn't bother us as there was good hot water for a thorough clean and fresh towels every day. Poolside - The pool is well maintained and clean. You're surrounded by the well maintained gardens / lawns and there are plenty of shaded places to sit and cool down if it gets overly hot.The hotel is at the foot of Mount Fileramos and it's on full view when lying by the pool. When we stayed there (mid June) we almost had the pool to ourselves most of the time as those with cars/scooters would head off for the day somewhere...but we were there to relax.Local Greek people use the pool at weekends and after school hours to cool down with the kids but it seems clear that the hotel has a policy where they must buy a drink from the hotel cafe/bar in order to use the facilities so this is quite fair and they're all very nice.BREAKFAST - ours was included in the price (I think all rates include beakfast). It was simple and tasty (bacon, boiled / sometimes scrambled eggs, bread rolls, cereals, fresh fruit and of course Greek yoghurt as well as fresh orange juice and good strong coffee to give you a kick-start to the day. The owners of Santa Helena take pride in this family run business and it shows clearly in their welcome and their hospitality. For those who want a quiet life they're fine to let you get on with your holiday you're way but they're also well equipped to assist with every aspect of your getting the most out of your stay as their guest if you should so require their help. If we do decide to 'do' Rhodes three times running next year then we would have no hesitation about booking our stay here again. Thanks Santa Helena family. Hope to see you again. Euro weekenders :)
