Hotel Restaurant Brasserie Feestzaal Ahoi, Kortrijk

Quietness of the room on the boat, and the location and the Captain.

Super fijn hotel, proper, vriendelijke mensen, gemakkelijke incheckprocedure

Alles was toppie

Excellent experience, highly recommend

Ideaal voor kort verblijf

Fantastic stay with the Bootel Ahoi. Its a charming place with friendly owners, great beer and food. Highly Recommend!

It's an ok hotel, not luxury, moderately comfortable but the rooms are small and the bathroom has no door. It's a novelty to stay on a boat and the bar is pretty good (when it's open). I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast, again it's ok but nothing better than that.

Room was very small, making it virtually impossible to open a suitcase for a change of clothes. Air conditioning was via a portable unit, which had to vent into the corridor. This meant that to have anything like an acceptable temperature in the room, the door had to be left open all night. There is a glass partition between the shower/toilet and the beds, giving very little privacy. However close you are to your travelling companion, you are unlikely to want to be in such close and open proximity to them when they carry out their morning ablutions. With the air con unit plugged in, there was one other plug socket, so we were unable to charge 2 phones at a time. The host was an absolute gentleman, and if i was 9 years old i would undoubtedly have enjoyed the adventure; but as an adult looking for a restful night before onward travel, this place was lacking for the price paid. I have pictures to illustrate my points, but the Hotels.com site will not let me upload them.

The staff were amazing! They made us feel comfortable and cared for. It felt like being at their home because they cared so much about us. The food is delicious and we really loved the huge variety of beers! It is also a unique experience in Kortrijk, so being on Ahoi makes you feel like you are elsewhere. As a bonus, you have a wonderful view on the sunrise and sunset. I highly recommend Ahoi to anyone who wants to experience something different than a typical hotel.

The only downside I can think of was the toilet/shower room which does not have a door. So if you poop or pee, your partner hears it. Perhaps it is fine for those who have been together, but it can be awkward for new couples and/or parents with children/siblings. But this can easily be "fixed" by the guests themselves as you can either put headphones on or leave the room temporarily :)

The hospitality was welcoming and warm. They answered to all my requests with pleasure. The food and drink were all delicious!

interesting location

unfortunately owner did not respond to our many enquiries asking for an invoice. still no response. would not recommend booking it for a business trip.

Very nice staff

It is a perfectly placed location: 5 minutes walk to the Broel Towers, short and pleasant walk distance to Grote Markt or any significant place in the centre of Kortrijk. The visit to St. Martin Cathedral was so rewarding to us - somebody was playing at the organ, so the atmosphere was calm and warm. Good breakfast (just what we needed for the morning ahead) prepared by Pedro (thanks for your jokes, Pedro! ). Captain Stefan prompt and welcoming. Good note for the bathroom - big enough considering the total space of the cabin. Was such a nice feeling to wake up in the morning with a direct view to the calm waters of Leie.

That we had to leave...! :) The place was perfect to our purpose and duration of staying.

Brasserie wasn’t open and no on site facilities to make tea coffee water or breakfast. Room was hot and stuffy unable to open the windows. Also be warned the bathroom has no door and has a glass window so very little privacy!

Bootie Ahoy is fabulous! Easy parking out the front, restaurant and Bar it’s a super fun stay always

Excellent location near to the Grotke Market Excellent host to welcome you and to suggest places of interest

Room was compact

Erstaunlich wie schön die Zimmer eingerichtet sind. Alles sauber. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

Great place to stay, very near the centre of town. Very welcoming, very good bar and very good breakfast. Easy Parking on the Quay side.

Nothing

This is a fun place to stay, location is great handy to everything great Brasserie/ Bar charming Host

This is always a fantastic and fun experience, handy to the centre of the city easy parking great restaurant and bar on board and close by really comfortable rooms

Had a lovely stay. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good. Walking distance of the city center. We enjoyed it, so would recommend it.

good spot near market square, good food and music.

Very good location, clean and quiet.

This is a totally fun stay we love it and have stayed a lot it’s quite a unique experience and so handy to the Tiwn Centre

Great experience!

This is a unique experience we love staying here and have done so many times it’s fun and convenient

A nice change from the normal hotel. The host Stephen provides good beer and basic but nice food. I will stop there again.

I really like to stay at this boat hotel. It's been my second time. The atmosphere is great and unique. It rocks a little bit when other boats pass by but, hey, life is not perfect and after a while I got used to it. The bar and restaurant upstairs are welcoming and the food is good. Every time I go I meet nice interesting people!

Fabulously warm welcome by the Bootel Ahoi staff. Brilliant location, quirky accomodation, a superb selection of Belgian beers and a bonus conversation on all things cycling. Pure bliss.

We love staying at Bootie Ahoi it’s such a unique hotel, great facilities onboard bar restaurant nicely positioned on the river, very convenient to the City Centrum and easy parking

Very enjoyable stay, with a great host.

Great location, rooms are good but on the small side.

It is a little quirky or unusual however comfortable. The owner Stefan is excellent.

Mal was anderes - sehr originell, nette Bar und super engagierter Chef

We love staying at Bootie Ahoy, it's such a different and unique concept. Walking distance to the town square, easy parking Warmly welcomed by Host Stephan does an incredible job

I prefer to sleep on boats, if possible. BOOTEL is in the river Leie in the middle of the city along a quiet quay/road. You enter through restaurant/bar with all-glass walls. 10 spacy rooms below that, with a window just above water level. Surprisingly large and cosy. You pay separately for a breakfast that you choose from a breakfast menu, often served by the engaged owner. Recommended!

really enjoyed my time here. nice and clean rooms are small but comfortable

The only way to describe this place is unique. Don't bother going to a stuffy normal hotel, stay on a barge for the night. The bar upstairs is well stocked and there are various types of places to eat within 300 metres. The rooms have ensuite shower/sink/toilet and the view out of the windows makes you the animal in the zoo as the local wildlife looks in thro the window on a morning. The host Stefan is a joy to be with. Next time I am in the area I will not hesitate to book a room (cabin)

This was a fun place to stay quite unique we loved it Stephan was a great host

The Bootel Ahoi is a small-ish ship that is docked along the non-shipping channel of the Leie River. The rooms are river view, and by that I mean the river is at the bottom of your window! My room was clean, comfortable but basic, and a little stuffy -- the fan helped but not a place you open your windows for fresh air. There is a happy hour bar on the top deck that is relaxing and you are not that far from the city center. I think they have done a good job in making it a unique place to stay. Kortrijk is a city experiencing much growth and revitalization.

Loved the area and accommodation was what we needed at the time. People who run it were lovely as well.

The overwhelming reason for staying here is the experience of spending the night on a boat. Having said that, the boat and the rooms are very clean. Staff is friendly, the deck sitting area and it's bar are very relaxing.

Excellent hotel, very difficult to believe that it has been open for five years every where was spotlessly clean and the décor in excellent condition. We had the grand cabin that was large and spacious, only downside was that the window could not be opened to allow fresh air into the room. Beds were very comfortable but the nights sleep was disturbed by the loud knocking and groaning created by the boats movement caused by the waves from passing large boats. Breakfast rather expensive (€9.90) for what is offered. Overall a very good place to stay.

Staff was super helpful and friendly. Small room, but comfortable and a very unique experience to sleep on a boat!!

Stayed here at 2 different times on a bike trip through Belgium. Can't beat the price. The service was really good for breakfast and the chef/server is super nice. Only complaints were that our room smelled a little too strongly of cleaning spray when we arrived. It wasn't a great night's sleep as the boat shifts when people are getting on/off it and this kind of shook my bed. Also was a bit noisy even after 10pm. There isn't a door to the toilet area so make sure you know you are really comfortable with your roommate's bathroom habits.

This is a great hotel, situated in a short walk to the town centre. It is very clean and well kept and is very unique being in a boat. If there were any downsides to staying here they are caused by the upside - that is because it is a boat. The first is the fact you cannot open the window, and hence the rooms can get hot (a fan is provided) and the second is because you are in a metal boat you can hear people walking around in the restaurant / bar above. Neither of these issues spoilt our stay and we would certainly return.

Great for a change of scenery located in the centre of Kortrijk. Recently opened so very clean and tidy. Good use of limited space. Very friendly staff make your stay very enjoyable. Easy parking on the quayside after 6pm. Will visit again.
