Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Friendly hosts, comfortable room, excellent breakfast.
Water pressure was low in the shower, and dried up completely during one of our showers.
Excellent breakfast. Good quality items throughout ranging from food, coffee and biscuits in rooms, shampoo, soaps etc. Free juice from fridge.
We didn’t really get a chance to meet and chat to hosts properly but that was probably as they were busy and making sure we had a great stay which indeed we did.
It's unique style and they made you very comfortable; everything in the room was thought of. Cotton pads ear plugs etc The little things really that large chains don't think of. Breakfast was fab
Lovely quiet room. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Nice breakfast.
Lovely old house with a lovely view. Rooms were nicely decorated with renovated bathrooms. There were juices and water available in a hidden fridge free of charge, a kettle, tee and coffee was available in the rooms.
I cannot think of anything.
Everything was perfect. Spotlessly clean, comfy room with everything you could want. Warm, helpful owners and a really delicious breakfast!
good breakfast
struggled with shower
Lovely converted old school, tastefully decorated and furnished
Nothing to mention
Good location, owners very welcoming, one night stop over, breakfast very good.
No dislike.
A stunning and unique hotel set in a beautiful location with free parking, attentive staff / owners and lots of nice 'little touches' that make it an incredible place to stay. On arrival we were instantly met by the host who gave us a very swift and comprehensive tour - which included the availability of fresh fruit juice, milk and chilled water in a fridge in a nifty little tucked away space - the dining room, and the most beautiful sitting room before taking us to our room. We stayed in the Tennyson - and it is completely magnificent. The ornate window set in stone surround is breath-taking. The room is large, very well equipped: tea / coffee making, biscuits, tissues etc on the large dressing table and L'occitane products in the bathroom along with shower caps (a thrill to find as so many places neglect to provide these nowadays), cotton pads etc. - and to cap it off, two large and fluffy bathrobes. There was ample storage in the dressing table and the standalone wardrobe. The lovely furry bed throw was a very nice addition to a very comfortable bed. The whole place was spotlessly clean - which is of huge importance to these travellers - so our thanks. Breakfast in the morning was excellent - great choice - from toast, cereals and yoghurts to full English (catering for vegetarian diet). The dining room is lovely and we almost wished we were staying in mid-winter so we could experience the log burner in the corner. All-in-all, this is a fabulous place to stay with hosts who clearly understand how to provide excellent facilities and services. We are already looking to rebook (maybe that winter break is on the cards...).
Just solid, honest, value for money
nothing
Ground floor room was well equipped, clean and well maintained. Excellent en suite. The staff were caring, efficient and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and well prepared though a continental breakfast (pain au raisin and a range of pastries) plus fresh fruit would be easier and, for some, more than adequate.
The bed was a little hard, a good quality mattress topper would make it more comfortable for older customers with hip replacements.
The availability of the refreshments was very good. The breakfast was well presented and tasty. The bed was very comfortable.
The extract fan in the bathroom did not work, and had not worked for some time apparently.
Beautiful building in a lovely location. Our room was stunning and had all the amenities you'd expect. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The included breakfast was absolutely delicious, cooked from scratch with locally sourced ingredients. Would 100% recommend.
No negatives at all.
Liebevolle Begrüssung im B&B. Ruhige, ländliche Lage mit Ausblick über die english countryside. Würde ich jederzeit wieder buchen!
We only stopped over on our way to Cornwall but what a lovely oasis of calm before rejoining the 303. Cute, comfortable and breakfast was lovely.
Nothing, all just perfect
Good location for onward travel. Nice bathroom and towels
Very hot at night.
Lovely place to stop and breakfast was great. Bed was really comfortable

Clean, friendly welcome, lovely room & absolutely fabulous breakfast.
Hosts great Facilities and parking great Great breafast and choice. Pub across the road , be careful crossing road as it is on a bend. Shared lounge area with tv and reading material. Outside tables and chairs
All good mo issues
The owner gave us a very warm welcome and the room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Lovely location with parking. Owner gave us early access to our room. We requested a vegan breakfast and it was delicious.
The shower was scalding hot and we were unable to reduce the temperature.
Beautiful and thoughtful presentation. The host has thought of little things to make the stay more comfortable.
Breakfast
Location,
Stayed at Belfry for 2 nights. Been greeted by Neil with all information needed for our stay. We had Feature Double Room. It's spotless with really nice modern shower (nice toiletries and gowns included). Hosts are so considerate that even fans were in each room due to hot weather. Breakfast was homemade, nice and hot. Building itself is beautiful and so as location. Highly recommend!

Good range of hot drinks
All good
Excellent accommodation! Large car park, beautiful inside and out and a superb breakfast…totally recommend✔️
Nothing
Beautiful village
Others parking without consideration
Super comfortable beds and excellent shower facilities. Breakfast is really well cooked, speedily served which helps if you're in a hurry.. lots of choice, although ( as a suggestion really not criticism) veggie sausages could be added to Eg avocado or sweetcorn/ tofu fritters for vegans who aren't eating eggs! But the fruit granola pots make up for that: too delicious! Easy to find: on A30. And it's a quiet BnB, so really relaxing if you'd prefer a setting without really young kiddies.. we had a peaceful, cheerful time.
Being immediately on A30 can mean bit of traffic noise. And it's situated on a sharp bend but you get used to that. Shame the pub opposite has ceased to trade.. but we enjoyed lovely meals in local pubs.. it's no hardship to drive in such beautiful surroundings.
Very sofisticated
Car park was busy
Amazing breakfast and very friendly and informative hosts.
All amenities and hospitality first class.
It was located in a village of the main route.
The room was warm in the evening which was not surprising given the weather.
Loved the breakfast and speedy turnaround. The fact you serve yourself after you've submitted your preferences is a perfect way of ensuring you get exactly what you want prepared freshly.
The extractor fan in the bathroom needed replacing as it wasn't working.
Lovely building in a beautiful village with a historic pub across the road and a deliciously complete full english service in the breakfast room
Good value for single person in double room, with good breakfast. Free parking, welcoming hosts.
No nice outdoor area, on main road. Small building so quite compact. Needs some updating, but reflected in price.
Great welcome, very clean room.helpfull for advising on eating out for dinner.exceptional breakfast, was a lovely stop over .Great value for money.
Nothing on our stay .
Lovely little boutique B&B. The king size rooms were beautiful. Very well appointed and clean throughout. Wonderful breakfasts made to order with local produce. Lovely people running it. Sad that they are due to leave..
Breakfast was excellent, the owner was a very good host, perfect stay thank you.
Nothing.
Historic building, once used as a school, tastefully altered to accommodate a limited number of guests. Fantastic breakfast.
Nothing, all good from our viewpoint.
Room met expectations and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have had. Careful thought had gone in to most things. Breakfast was very good. It was nice to be able to have some fruit juice from the fridge when we arrived in the hot weather.
There were some minor maintenance issues such as bathroom extraction fan not working, but overall everything was very good
Historic character and beautiful architecture, clean warm and friendly

Prima en leuke kamer. Ontbijt heel goed Gastvrij
De schijnwerper buiten bleef lang aan. Lampjes op de muur vrij fel.
De slaapkamer, prima bed, fijne badkamer, oud historisch gebouw met glas in lood ramen, uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet en goed verzorgd, personeel erg vriendelijk.

Vriendelijk personeel, prachtige omgeving, heerlijk ontbijt, goede parkeergelegenheid

Beautifully presented room in a very unique building. Good parking, a quiet location, and a pub right next door. The breakfast was excellent, and the owners were friendly, approachable, and very helpful.
Great variety with breakfast and swift service
Rooms nicely appointed with excellent facilities. All clean and fresh. Great service, very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were top quality, large selection made to order and great quality.
A warm welcome; very clean; very good facilities. Had to leave early so missed breakfast. Thank you.
Only something not in your control!
Unieke architectuur, vriendelijk eigenaars, super lekker ontbijt
Ligt aan een drukke weg, maar tijdens de nacht gaf dit weinig hinder
The Belfry Boutique B&B is located in the small village of Yarcombe, Devon surrounded by beautiful scenic countryside. We received a very warm welcome by the host who also lett us know about pubs with restaurants close by. The Belfry also has a lovely living room for guests to use and there's also a large fridge foe guests to use and they also provide complimentary juice/milk/water for guests. Our double room on the ground floor was very comfortable and very clean with attention to detail. The bed linen was of very good quality. From our bedroom window we had lovely views of the church and village and surrounding countryside. Our room had a lovely modern fully tiled ensuite with walk in shower, again with attention to detail, there was a lovely lighted vanity mirror and under sink vanity unit. Good quality towels and face cloths and lovely high end branded handwash/shower/shampoo were provided. They also provided their guests with cotton wool pads in a lovely container. Breakfast for guests was served in their lovely breakfast room and again with emphasis on attention to detail with lots of food and drink choices. Our breakfast we ordered was served beautifully presented and was delicious.
The only negative issue is that the guests rooms should be soundproofed as we could clearly hear the guests in the room next to us and the doors should be soft close as they currently do bang when they close.
Lovely location, true English countryside, silence with birds tweeting and church bells, the property is just beautiful, very clean and the breakfast was probably one of the best we’ve ever had, lots of extra touches, The Belfry is perfect if your looking for a beautiful break in the countryside
Nothing negative
Large room, comfortable, very clean, fantastic breakfast.
Little bit of noise during night due to church bells!!
Such a lovely place ,village was delightful,

Good experience
Lovely comfortable room, very warm so we turned the radiator off, great nights sleep, lovely shower and fluffy large bath towels. Breakfast was incredible with massive choices. Thought lovely one night stay.
Attractive character property, beautifully decorated with a blend of original features and contemporary amenities.
Beautiful property, clean, friendly, comfortable bed and room, amazing power shower, great recommendations for where to book dinner, lovely breakfast, great set up to order food etc.
TV in the room could have been better.
The property is beautifully furnished and appointed, the hosts were arm and welcoming, the rooms and breakfast were superb
Amazing location, facilities, breakfast, and owners. We were 2/3rds through a 95 mile charity walk, and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and well fed!!

Room was comfortable and warm. Water pressure in the shower was superb. Breakfast was beyond what I expected - lots of choice and tasted delicious. Will highly recommend staying here.
A lovely warm welcome

Very comfy bed 👌🏻
We didn’t consider that it was boutique. There was no atmosphere. The windows steamed up showing lack of ventilation. Bath and shower was good. Bed was comfortable. There was water left in the kettle when we arrived. The room wasn’t as big and luxurious as we thought it would be. We didn’t feel that the breakfast was award winning, as there was no fresh fruit, the smoked salmon and poached eggs were on just one slice of toast and I wasn’t asked if I wanted brown or white. There was a jar of marmite for everyone to share which we feel is unhygienic as someone could lick their knife and then put it in the jar. Lack of the personal touch at breakfast having to tick a list then put it through the hatch. We were then called through the hatch to go and get our own breakfasts. Table service would be much nicer.
See the comments in the above section where all positive and negative feedback have been given.
Beautiful historic building in a picturesque countryside location. Room was great, free parking, welcoming and helpful host and a lovely breakfast all at a very reasonable price.
Wow! Amazing character building, where we stayed in the Coleridge room with its extra large king size bed. Neil was a very friendly host and the breakfast was large and exceptionally tasty. It was everything we wanted.
It was a little bit of a drive from Taunton, but even then a nice drive through hills and woods.
Breakfast was exceptional. Staff super friendly. Location and room was very unique. Towels were plentiful, lots of different tea and coffee. There was also fresh milk supplied in a fridge down stairs for guests. The lounge area was very very nice.
Very minor, the shower tap was stiff and maybe need repair in 6 months to 1 year.
High quality facility, with luxury wash products- locctaine, towel robes, wash caps and complimentary ear buds, which helped with corridor noise. Nice soft bed and little window view. Tea and coffee provided was high quality - Clipper, coffee bags, biscuits and hot chocolate. The host was friendly and quick to greet us. Great locally sourced breakfast with goose fat fried bread options and oats. Great for a veggie breakfast. Sweet little library room, sadly we only stayed 1 night so didn't get to use it. High quality for a great price!
Take care with the road, it's very narrow. Limited parking, though we had no issues. There is a lot of noise in the coridoor and the kitchen, but ear buds helped this. Shame we could only talk to the host through a kitchen wall hatch, as its was harder to give compliments :)
Friendly welcome, clean warm room, lovely breakfast
I loved everything about this beautiful BnB. I was made to feel welcomed immediately, and was taken to a lovely big room which was nice and warm (mid winter, I was worried about being cold in an old building!). The bed was possibly the most comfortable I've ever slept on, and I loved hearing the nearby church bells. The bathroom was modern and full of gorgeous L'Occitane toiletries which was a real treat. Breakfast was superb. I would definitely stay here again.
Warm, comfortable accommodation with nice touches eg. lovely towels, bedding and products, coupled with a delicious breakfast and a scenic location. Hosts kindly gave us a bigger room as it was available, which we very much appreciated. We really enjoyed our overnight stay and would stay again!
Nothing!
