Fukuyama New Castle Hotel

How clean it was, the rooms were spacious enough for a family of 4, and breakfast was excellent.

Everything was great.

Everything,I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing, everything was good.

Amazing view, kind staff, delicious food, location

I can't complain about anything

Excelente ubicacion

The mixed Japanese and Western breakfast choices met our expectations. They were very well presented and serviced. While some Western items were missing (toast), this was a Japanese train station hotel which provided sufficiently for the small number of foreigners. I think they did an admirable job.

Everything went well - no complaints that come to mind - as a Vegetarian, this hotel did its best to accommodate our wishes but in general, Japan is VERY difficult for vegetarians due to the culture of using fish broth and meat in almost all dishes. This hotel is no better or worse in this - moreover, they made special efforts to modify menus to meet our wishes - this is rare in Japan and was appreciated..

I loved my room! It had a castle view and was very clean. The staff was friendly and helped me open a Ramune soda bottle. I recommend this hotel to others and would stay again.

First class hotel great restaurant attentive staff right across from the train station

Excellent breakfast

Location

Too expensive for room quality, breakfast was not great either. Bathroom old and doesn’t work well.

good hotel

Fukuyama New Castle Hotel is terrific. Close to Fukuyama JR Station, very easy to find. The front side rooms face the Fukuyama Castle which is a beautiful sight especially at night. Excellent and very efficient staff. The room was good size, clean, quiet, good bedding, all necessary supplies provided. Well priced and great value.

Great location!

nice view, beautiful surroundings, quiet and friendly atmosphere

location

View of the castle was absolutely outstanding

Convenient location. Beautiful view of the castle from our room.

The location is great, next to train station

The Claire restaurant provided excellent food and service. Your location by the train station made travel so easy. Your desk service/hospitality was also excellent.

This is a good hotel in Fukuyama. It has a great location, excellent views of the castle, and is located right next to the station. The breakfast is good with a traditional Japanese option as well as a western option. The rooms are small, which is typical for Japan, but are fine. The staff are very welcoming and though I speak Japanese they are able to communicate very well in English. The room levels have vending machines and ice machines which is convenient.

From the moment I arrived at the hotel the staff was amazing. Helpful and accommodating. Everything was clean and comfortable. Multiple restaurants at the hotel and right across the street from the train station with many more restaurants and shopping. Will ability stay again.

Castle view from the room was fantastic!!! Hope to come again in the future

Had a problem with Expedia booking’s email and it said

Overall good

Easy check in and they validate parking to where it’s only ¥800/noght

GREAT LOCATION AND CONVINIENT TO ACCESS

The view of Fukuyama Castle and station is great. Room was quite comfortable.

Fukuyama New. Castle Hotel has seen better days. It smacks of former glory, now faded. Perhaps this is why, instead of closing the hotel for refurbishment, they chose to surreptitiously drill on the ground floor right around 10.45 p.m. on Saturday night, when they guessed most of the guests would be well asleep. Unfortunately for us, we were just drifting off when the drilling started. It was distant but penetrating and vibrating, and appeared somewhat furtive, stopping after about 30 seconds for a pause, presumably in the hope that no one would notice if they were not too noisy about their drilling. Two of us, in two separate rooms, phoned reception several times to complain about the noise. The reception staff lied to one of us, saying that it must be from nearby roadworks although we hadn't seen any roadworks, but finally admitted that they were drilling on the ground floor. One goes to a hotel to sleep, so the idea of finding that your hotel is undertaking renovations at night so they they don't have to close is ludicrous. We booked two rooms, each for two adults and one child. Although each room had a sofa bed in it, the bed was not made up, and when we asked why this was, they told us to pay for bedding for the sofa bed. The booking was for three people per room and yet they didn’t want to provide us with the bedding for the third bed unless we paid extra for it. In the end they relented, but only after arguing about it. We used the laundry room on the fourth floor, which was very confusing and required staff to unlock the machines. The room decor was also rather tired and could do with a makeover, although it all functioned adequately. Booking.com said that no refund would be given for the fact that our night's sleep was completely disrupted. Is this a hotel or a joke? It all rather smacks of Fawlty Towers. We do not recommend. Try the Daiwa Roynet Hotel next door - it's excellent.

Comfortable bathtub and cotton washcloth in the bathroom. Chinese restaurant in the hotel serves good Sichuan dishes.

Bedroom allowing smoking smells. Luckily we could change the rooms.

Big room, quiet, convenient location next to train and bus station. A few more minutes to the castle park and museums. I didn't think about a view when I booked, but for those who value such things, ask for an upper floor with a castle view.
