Breakfast very good and the conservatory area was clean and convenient.

The room was very good but could have been better if there had been an easy chair as due to the inclement weather we spent some time in the room. The plastic chairs were not very comfortable after sitting in them for a longtime. Apart from that everything else was very good.

We stayed to look after my poorly mum for a few days so the location was really good. The hotel was good and the staff very friendly and helpfull. We did not use any of the other facilities and did not have breakfast. I will be staying again later in the year.

some of the contractors leaving at 4am let the doors bang and sat outside in the carpark chatting and running the vans for quite a while before leaving.

Overpriced at £85 (without breakfast) for solo traveler, £40/£50 would have been fairer! It’s rundown in need of major renovation. Construction workers accommodation really .

Good Location

For £90 a night I would've expected better. Very dated and rooms are stuffy. Tiny tv that can't be moved. Very noisy both outside your room door and outside the room window.

As usual all the staff from Reception/Housekeeping/bar staff were all polite and work hard

Very dirty room for £130 a night i was not impressed the rooms were very dirty there was stains on the sheets , the bathroom fan was covered in dust and dirt. Do not recommend

Lovely stay and great staff. Room was clean and modern, had everything we needed. Big carpark with plenty of spaces. Food in the bar was very good and value for money.

I dropped 1 point for cleanliness as the communal stairwells had a weird smell to them. I think they needed airing particularly the 2nd stairwell.

First room was so scruffy and dirty - could have written my name on the dirt/ dust on the mirror Damaged and very very scruffy dresser I was offered another room , while better the toilet from the previous guest had been used and not cleaned Tv didn’t work and when I pulled the tv plug out it frizzled ans there were sparks Generally I had to clean very grubby light switches Such a shame - I have stayed in this hotel numerous times with no issues - I wonder have they changed their cleaning staff or was I just very unfortunate

There was no mini fridge for drinks, no air con but was offered a fan, there was wifi but this didn't work in the room which staff did tell us about. There was no phone in the room to call reception. Cleaning was a little slap dash but clean towels were always available.

Exceptionally friendly and informative welcome. Big, clean room, comfortable bed.

Generally a bit dated and tatty round the edges, e.g. chipped enamel in the bath, stained carpet, chipped paint. I was prepared for this and thought the room was totally fine. It didn't feel like good value for money though.

I booked as it was convenient for us for the one night, I did book the cheapest room so I got what we expected, it was a bit tied looking and basic but did us for the one night, used literally to sleep in, wouldn’t book this room if I was staying for longer.

The bedrooms was big & Tapas was good.

No WIFI in bedroom. Bedroom too hot couldn't open windows as broken latches, No fan provided - extremely difficult to sleep the room was so hot. Limescale and damaged bath in dated bathroom, shower off of taps and went extremely hot and scalded skin. Dust under bed. Curtain rail had no ends so curtains fell off the end. couldn't sit by the lake as was a health hazard and had been sectioned off, the smell was disgusting. the water under the bridge is stagnant and toxic green. Very dated play area for children.

The staff from reception to the bar to the cleaning staff were just amazing. We always stay here when we travel from Ireland to visit our daughter but this time was hard as the heat was unbearable but the staff could not do more for us which made our visit so much easier. We would not even contemplate staying anywhere else.

Pillows was so thin, the bath had black mould in it and moved everytime you got in it also when switching from bath to shower it wouldn’t stick so couldn’t have a shower the tv was leant up against the wall and when turned on has grey lines running through it

It was very hot and windows did not open and no air was a terrible night the handles on the windows were broken did mention it the cleaning lady said I should of asked for a fan ? And building has sub sided that's why windows don't open

I do think for the amount of money I paid for the room breakfast should be included

it was so hot and there was no AC in the room... it was baking hot in the room. The window refused to open.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating when we wanted to change tables in the restaurant. Food was pretty good, but not amazing. They did accommodate for extra things that weren't on the menu which was very helpful

The calamari was cheap and mashed instead of real rings and the apple pie that was said to be home made was not up to scratch. We ended up not having breakfast with you and having it somewhere else, because it didn't start early enough and we had to hit the road. The rooms were big and adequate but the bathrooms could do with being updated as they were run down.

The location was great and the breakfast.

There was no bbc1 and bbc2 in the room to watch the world cup and most importantly no wifi in the rooms. The room was stifling hot so we left the window open to let the evening air in and when we returned to the room the staff had closed it, there was no air and the the fan was just circulating the heat.

no aircon, very outdated, room was verrry shabby , tiny tv had no bracket on the wall and was just leant against a wall so it couldn’t be watched, bathroom was old and bath was chipped everywhere, doors and skirting boards were all peeling. at 1 stage i almost went to go and sleep in my car , younger customers were sniffing i presume cousin at the beer garden table seats in the bar and dining area ripped in places. i am very far from being a fussy person but all the above for £90 per night is very overpriced.

There is a heat wave going on. How can you have no fan in the room????????????? How can your Windows not be opened... I was very uncomfortable stay...

Car park untidy ( building work in progress ) Room very hot with no air conditioning. Leaving the window open on the ground floor is a security risk. Bathroom very dark with out of date fittings. Bed made up in two sections - not aligned. On a positive note it looks like they are in the advance stage of building some new rooms. The original rooms need modernising urgently.

Comfy surroundings, great breakfast, reasonable rates for a twin bedded, spacious room. A visit to family and to remember our Dads on Father's Day. The Oysterfleet had been the venue for my Dad's Celebration of Life two years ago on 11 August, a bright sunny day similar to today. We took a moment to reflect on a peaceful Sunday morning after a lovely homecooked breakfast.

Stayed for one night. The room was dated, the carpet was old & dirty, the bathroom was in desperate need of refurbishment, it was old & smelt . I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The room to be updated, beds flat & uncomfortable. Bathroom i couldn't have a shower as it looked old & dirty. I wanted to ask for a refund as it was not worth the £85 that I payed.

Food awful some staff short with guests despite booking last September and checking twice room was not ready and staff really couldn't care less. Hotel is tired and grubby in parts. Ok if only using to sleep. Carpet covered in builders dust. Main door to rooms never locked and caught drunk teenagers trying to access on multiple occasions. It feels they know they're the only Hotel on Island so guests should put up with it.

It was in a great location on the high street, plenty of parking and the room was surprisingly spacious.

It felt slightly old so just needs a little bit of work done to it, but everything worked fine and was clean.

Angela’s restaurant was shambolic and head waitress needs training on how to deal with a polite complaint food was mediocre and 1.5 hour wait for food to be served Our room was dusty and carpet not vacuumed so we got a free bowl of corn flakes and a round of toast big deal Would we visit again No. The place seems to lack any kind of managerial leadership but the lady recetptionist was very good and nothing was too much trouble

The staff were so helpful and friendly, the housekeepers went over and above their roles. We're looking forward to our next visit.

My room was like an Hostal, room 18, I have stayed in other rooms here and was happy, but this room was pathetic.

Location ,as Canvey is an island had to get taxi to and from southend, but having said that ,i made the choice to stay on the island rather than southend as i believe it was much safer at night, even most people we saw on the streets or bars were very friendly

We have stayed here at Oyster Fleet many times, on the whole from the reception staff to the bar, restaurant staff, great. Food whether in the restaurant or bar excellent. Beds, room facilities, adequate and comfortable. Would recommend and will stay here again. We'll done.

The ONLY negative comment I want to make is about the bathrooms. I feel the cleaning staff are lazy and inefficient. The build up of mould in the shower room was obviously lacking in a thorough clean, using suitable products that would address this issue should be a priority. The toilet paper, false economy because one has to use 2/3 times as much. The absolutely disgusting condition of the toilet brush made us heave! Supervision of the cleaning staff and inspection of bathrooms should be addressed. Get this matter sorted and it would be an excellent score ever time.

Room was nice and spacious. Bathroom was okay.

Felt like everything was too much trouble, Required early check in, and hadn’t even checked the messages to see I had requested it. Room was okay, but not up to the usual standards. Felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff which is unusual as I have had no problems before. Normally stay here once a month, but don’t think I will be returning after Wednesdays experience.
