A wonderful location and about 4.3km to the main town of Cochem. The hosts were great, the room was comfortable and clean. The evening meal was superb. In all a very nice stay, thank you
I’m so lost for words. Yasmin and his team felt us at home, away from home. From the lovely rooms, to the sunny terrace where drinks and food was enjoyed, to the close proximity of the Mosel river and the beautiful sights of the wine ranks. I love this place and recommend everyone to stay here! 😍😍😍
You mentioned it on tripadvisir as a hotel with quiet rooms, even made soundproof. Yes, they made effort trying to keep the noise of the road away. But you can stil hear it , other quest showers, talking, laughing in bed (among other noices). Solid roomlocks you hear being slammed. Televisions etc. So please reconsider it. Because of you we stayed here. For the rest, friendly staff.
We wanted a short break in the Mosel area to get to know the wines and this hotel seemed perfectly located. Cochem just up the road is quite a large town but the hotel is on the edge of a small village which is mostly made up of wine businesses. The hotel is large and modern. The staff were all very friendly and our room nicely decorated and well equipped. It had beautiful views over the Mosel river but a slight downside was some traffic noise in the morning. Rooms on the other side have a lovely view over the vineyards. The restaurant has a fixed menu each night with a choice of 3 main courses, one of which seems to be vegetarian. The first night the food was decent but nothing special, but the second night it was really excellent, with a very good carrot and ginger soup to start, then a delicious venison stew or a well-cooked steak in Gorgonzola sauce. There’s a large wine list of course, including the hotel’s own label. Breakfast is standard for German hotels: plenty of cheese, ham, yoghurt, etc. We rented bikes from the village of Ernst and cycled along the river. Just be aware that many businesses including cafes and restaurants are closed between November and April except in larger towns. All in all a nice place to stay.
Very comfortable and good maintained hotel. Easy reachable, own paking place (they even have chargers for the e-cars!). Good size rooms with beautiful views. Very polite staff and attent owner. Distillery tours available. Restaurant could use a more imaginative menu. Underdeveloped internet infrastructure in the area and this hotel suffers with the rest (although it can aslo be seen as a repreive from the plage of electronic / digital devices...)
My partner and I stayed in Filla Andre for 4 nights. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Mosel with fantastic views. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. The food was delicious albeit a very limited menu. Wines are amazing. Although we can speak very basic German, only 2 members of staff helped us out when we were struggling!!!! Also the only place the WIFI worked was in the breakfast room. However, we would recommend this hotel for touring this lovely wine district.
Very nice family hotel. Very nice rooms and a fantastic loaction 40 mtrs from Mosel with view from balcony. Breakfast and dinner was very good, and the atmosphere in general was very good. Lot of parking places and nice little city.
Eten, bediening, netheid ..... zeer goed.
It's not only the beautiful area of the Mosel, beautiful hotel and amazing room with a whirlpool that keeps me thinking again and again on this amazing weekend! It's the people - very firendly, helpful and always there for you! Add vine and great food (in the hotel restaurant) and you've got your perfect hotel. Totally recomend it!
Just returned on 11/3 from 11 days in Germany with 3 nights at the Filla Andre in Ernst. Ernst is about 2.5 miles south of Cochem and is a great hotel and restaurant. I would highly recommend to anyone as an alternative to Cochem, especially if one is driving. The hotels in Cochem are very nice also but if you have a car, parking can be a problem. The town is just not laid out with convenient parking and in many cases you just have to park and walk to get to your hotel.
As a member of Small Leading Hotels of the World we knew this place would be special and indeed it was. From the eccentric proprietor and the chef who came out to make sure the kids were happy to their food, to the beautiful riverside location and impeccably renovated and updated spaces....we were not disappointed. The highlight was dinner al fresco overlooking the river with a three course spectacular meal....choosing between roast pork and spaetzle, entrecôte with potato cakes and cabbage, and a vegetarian option.....and starting with a carrot ginger mint soup that was unusually good, and finishing with fresh strawberries, cream and homemade vanilla ice cream. An incredibly good value all around.
Lovely location, very friendly staff, beautiful room! I had a quiet room overlooking the vineyards. There are also rooms overlooking the river, but they get afternoon sun on the balconies and you may get some street noise. The dinner and breakfast was lovely! They can reserve your favorite table. Lots of parking. Right next to bike trail- easy ride to Cochem! Super relaxing. They also have a nice looking spa area, i didn't use it though. Very good Riesling wine.

We thought that this was the best Hotel we stayed at whilst cycling from Metz to Koblenz on the Mosel cycle path. Friendly welcome despite being somewhat tarnished after cycling in a September heatwave. Rooms were well equipped and clean, excellent shower. As the grape harvest had just begun the menu for the night was a fixed three courses for 19.50 euros. We had a typical german menu with gammon/sauerkraut/mashed potato/ onion sauce main course which was splendid. Wide selection of local wines. Just perfect.
Rigjht on the Mosel with non of the tourist trappings of Cochem. Room was large, modern, with a great view from the balcony. Much better than the three star rating.
The hotel was nicely renovated, with comfortable rooms, free parking, good WiFi, excellent included German breakfast and reasonably priced and very good dinners. The hotel is located in a beautiful, quiet area across the street from the Moselle in a valley covered in grape vines. Just 5 or 6 minutes down the road is the picturesque village of Cochem, with dozens of shops of all kinds and a rebuilt castle with a fun tour. We could not have been more pleased with this wonderful find. Highly recommended. Ask for a room with a balcony in the back overlooking the vineyards. We didn’t take a day cruise down the Moselle, but it looked fun. You can also walk along a path next to the river which is lined with chestnut, walnut, plum and apple trees and see the swans. Renting bikes would be fun too. Oh, and there’s wine!
Easy parking . Lovely room . Staff very helpful. Food very good . Beautiful views and walks from location. Approx 4km walk to cochem but easy walk along river or you can get local bus or boat. Belstein well worth visit too.Nice to sit on hotel terrace and watch the world go by whilst drinking a cold beer or glass of local wine .
Cosy, nice view and excellent service. And the food was lovely! We would definitely stay here again.
We spent three nights in Filla AndreHotel and were very pleased with the experience. The man at rhe reception desk and the women serving breakfast were all very friendly. The typical German breakfast was first-class. The hotel had clearly been recently renovated and was very tastefully appointed. Bedroom and shower room were more than satisfactory. We also had our own balcony with a wonderful view over the peaceful Mosel river. We had dinner on our first evening in the hotel restaurant and were very impressed by the quality: good ingredients with a creative touch. I would be very happy to return to this hotel.
zeer mooie omgeving.
Dejligt sted. Dejligt personale og super mad. Bare så godt!
Close to Cochem but still very quiet. The staff was very helpful and the bed was comfortable. However, no access to a fan or A/C made the room very hot.
This is a gem of a venue. Great staff, dedicated management, and an owner that works the kitchen and restaurant. Excellent local wines and a nice course menu discounted for repeat guests. The location has a scenic view of the Mosel River and surrounding vineyards. It's quiet, and the outdoor terrace is well used for cocktails and after dinner relaxation. The hotel is a one hour drive to Germany's oldest city, Tier. Ten minutes from Cochem, and its picturesque Cochem castle, and an hour drive from the beautiful Berg Eltz. We enjoyed visiting these local treasures. (Parking is free at the hotel.) Caveats: bring your shampoo, our room didn't have a refrigerator nor a bath. (The shower was enough for the weekend, and there is a Spa on the ground floor of the hotel.)
A weekend at Filla Andre is highly recommended for wine lovers. It's location and service is suitable to relaxation and enjoyment of the region. We left the venue to visit Trier, Cochem castle, and Berg Eltz. Wifi is free and worked well. Caveat: bring your own shampoo, our room didn't have a refrigerator, and if you don't speak German, google translator is useful.
Charming ang kozy Hotel in the village of Ernst. If you prefer to stay in a place not so packed with tourists but still close to several if the «must see» places in the area, then this is the place. Beautiful rooms with a close up view to either the Mosel river or vinyards. Loveley rooms and a very friendly staf.
I would consider Filla Andre a Bed and Breakfast because of its small town character and attention to detail. Breakfast was very good and having coffee on our balcony over looking the Moselle river was a definite highlight.
Direkt an der Mosel gelegen. Weinberge im Hintergrund. Wander- und Fahrradwege soweit das Auge reicht. Nur 4 km von Cochem entfernt.
Nice hotel in village near Cochem. Extremely friendly and welcoming. Traditional food was very good with super local wines and spirits. Only drawbacks are lack of air conditioning and roadside location. In hindsight a room away from the river would have been a quieter choice. Rooms are a decent size with showers. If you have time don’t miss the new farming museum in the village.
We recently enjoyed 5 nights at Filla Andre. We were greeted by the owner & chef, who was very friendly and spoke fairly good English. The waitresses also spoke some English. The hotel was quite modern and clean with its own restaurant and own vineyard. Our stay came with free breakfast which was good: meats, cheeses, fruit along with breads and yogurt. We were given that evenings menu with 2 options for the main dish. Was nice to arrive in the restaurant with a plaque with your name on it reserving the table. Two downfalls of the hotel was the toiletries don’t get restocked so bring your soap and shampoo plus the lack of a/c can make your room a bit warm. The village of Ernst was nice. Only a couple options for dinner but more if you just wanted a glass of wine. Nice place to walk as there is a walking path along the river.
Nice, clean and large room with view over the river. The bathtub was had also fun. Breakfast was average, the staff very helpful and polite. The spot really beautiful. We would go again, recommended.
Hammer. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. MfG
Besuch der Weihnachtsmärkte in Cochem, Bernkastel, Traben Trarbach, Trier... Super Zimmer, sehr modern, sehr sauber, sehr nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück.
This hotel is about 3.5 km from Cochem centre. The building is on a vineyard right beside the Mosel promenade. It only has 18 rooms with remodeled bathroom and very spacious room. The breakfast is typical continental but good quality. Staff are all wonderful.
Staying here last September was so amazing. We were on a whirlwind trip with grown kids and we ditched the kids in Cochem to have a relaxing stay. (Thirty year olds want to see a region and "bounce.") We needed a break. The owner is over-the-top with hospitality. The rooms are unbelievably thought out. The bathroom was a dream and the owner even designed a piece of furniture that turns into a suitcase table. Great bedding too. The bed in our room was his grandfather's. A mix of family heirlooms and modern convenience. The view of the Mosel winding through vineyards was breathtaking. Dining was a class act. You choose your meal and they reserve your table with a name plate. They make you feel so special. The breakfast offerings were varied and plentiful. You will never stay in a lodge where the owner is more involved or interested in his guests' comfort. We were in a situation where we needed a place to hang out until our very late train voyage and he was just so wonderful. I found the German tourists in the region to be stuffy and unfriendly. And we ran into problems with people not speaking English. He was just what we needed. We restored ourselves and then on to Octoberfest, Pompei, Positano and Rome. Thank you, Harald! You are a class act and Linda and I think of you often.
Hôtel très bien tenu.très bon accueil. .
Schönes Hotel in traumhafter Lage direkt an der Mosel mit sehr nettem Personal, hervorragende Zimmerausstattung, sehr nettes Personal
Bra, men något hårda sängar. Fri parkering. Hiss. Helt enkelt kanonbra !
We stayed three nights at Filla Andre and it was the best part of our European vacation. The manager has a vineyard on the property and is a trained chef so the food and wine are top notch. We had an amazing room -- Etiketten #4 -- that had a huge jacuzzi tub looking out over the river. Breakfast was a large buffet with meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt and pastries and even some scrambled eggs and bacon (which we enjoyed along with the more traditional fare). We rode bikes along the Mosel River from Ernst to the larger town of Cochem one day and it was a glorious ride. Cochem is much more touristy and bustling, and I loved coming home to our quiet hotel in Ernst and sitting on the outside patio enjoying a bottle of wine before dinner. Dinner was a fantastic affair each night and as a hungry, exploring couple we decided to just order one of each entree so we could try them both. The menu is set every morning and there is one starter, two entrees to choose from, and a dessert. The food every night was phenomenal and we saw no reason to go anywhere else. They also place a placard with your family name on the table for breakfast and dinner, so it really feels like home while you are there. The staff is amazing and attentive and really wants your stay to be enjoyable. We got great recommendations on wines and, when we had to leave before breakfast on our last day, they packed us a special take away package for the plane ride. What a treat! I also have to give special thanks to the manager who offered to personally iron my sweetheart's suit shirt so he could have it fresh for the morning trip. This is the type of service you always hear about, but rarely receive, at expensive hotels. We would definitely stay at Filla Andre again and will be recommending it to all our friends who are looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway.
In één woord geweldig.
The hotel is in a very nice cozy location, very nice views and quite,. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful, the delux room is very comfortable with and cones with a Jacuzzi,. If I plan to visit Cochem again, I will definitely stay at Filla Andre again.
Perfeito!
Upgraded to lovely room overlooking Mosel
Last night of our trip around Germany and we were starting to feel a little jaded. However Filla Andre repaired all of that. From the very friendly booking in process, through the comfort of the bedroom, the wet room facility and the restaurant everything was wonderful. They helped us with our poor German vocabulary when needed and gave us advice on the local tourist attractions. We will return for longer than one night sometime soon.
Internet in the room was very bad. Kept resetting and was more frustrating than useful. Other than this one negative, the place was very nice, newly remodeled and comfortable.
From the moment we checked in our visit to Filla Andre was superb. The staff was very welcoming and their customer service was top notch. Parking was provided and the included breakfast was a great way to start the day. Make sure to check out their wines and don't miss out on staying here!
Great views. Friendly staff. Placed looked brand new. Restaurant very accommodating for our picky 6 year old. Food was great. Would stay again.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel has a very nice restaurant, convenient parking, River walks, views of vineyards, River boat traffic, very clean contemporary room - ours had a balcony - we enjoyed our stay
Lovely position with river view. Food was amazing and excellent facilities.
The staff was very nice in making sure we had what we needed and the room was very clean, beds were comfortable and the wifi was very fast. Breakfast was good as well.
A great place to stay in Cochem. The most positive aspect of Filla Andre is the personnel. Michaela in the restaurant, Jasmin behind the bar and Eva in housekeeping made our stay memorable. Andre, the owner, chef, maintenance man, gardner is the engine that drives this machine. Breakfast was plentiful, both in quantity and variety. We learned too late that dinner may be the best in the Mosel Valley as Andre is an accomplished chef. If you stay here, please don't wait until the last night to enjoy his cuisine. The room was spacious and clean. Our only negative was the inability to control the temperature of the room. The only covers on the beds were thick duvets that would be good on cold nights but were too much for warm nights. We were sweating most of the time. We recommend the Filla Andre and would stay there should we ever return.
Recently renovated, the hotel was lovely
