Very uncomfortable bed - spring mattress - needs to be replaced asap. Not good enough when charging over £300 a night.
Dinner service was quite chaotic and any dietary adjustments didnt seem to be liked. I asked for ice cream as the cream contained alcohol. I thought this was an easy swap but the chef said no. As soon as we decided not to have pudding, the request was suddenly possible.
Expensive food -£80 for 2 mains, one dessert and 2 drinks.
Room felt basic for the cost
No warning about having to book a time for dinner or breakfast - guests should be warned before if no availability. We were originally told there was no room until 8pm and again as soon as i queried it there was suddenly a table at 7pm.

The bedroom was the only thing that threw me off. Just the location. I got room 1 and I thought it was going to be a room with a view but it was located on the side with a view to the street. It almost seemed like it used to be a storage room prior and converted to a handicap accessible room. The look of the room was cute and cozy it was just the location

Unsure on value for money. It's a lovely hotel in a nice location with great staff & nice complimentary bits. But for approx. £400 a night I would've thought rooms & bathrooms would be cleaner with some complimentary access to sauna/spa facility.

Furniture in bedroom resembled that purchased at public house liquidation sale.
Music in dining room too loud and random music choice - odd incohesive menu.
Awful dated nic nacs around the property and along the walls.
Paintings badly hung / dated whiticisms adorning the walls. These issues could be remedied quite easily.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Die Lage an einem See ist sehr schön. Bei gutem Wetter kann man auf der schön ausgestatteten Terrasse gut Essen. Das Personal war freundlich. Die Bar bietet eine sehr hohe Anzahl an guten Whiskys.
Das Zimmer. Es waren sehr kleine Räume und sehr kleine Fenster, die außen zum Teil sehr schmutzig waren. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schlicht und nicht besonders hochwertig. Zusätzlich war im Zimmer an der Decke ein grünes Licht, das das Zimmer nachts hell ausgeleuchtet hat. Wer im Dunkeln schlafen möchte kann hier definitiv nicht schlafen. Fraglich ist auch der Nutzen dieses Lichts, da es sich nicht um den Feuermelder handelte.

كما تعرضت لعملية احتيال ونصب عن طريق الواتساب من شخص ادعى انه من هذا الفندق وارسل لي بيانات الحجز ( الاسم كامل وتواريخ الحجز ) وكانت صحيحه وارسل لي رابط لتأكيد الحجز والدفع !

The beds need to be replaced.
Location was great, bed was comfortable, staff polite and did phone me when i left my jumper which was kind and considerate of them and i appreciate that.
Bathroom had black mold on the grout up to 2 feet up, shower drain didnt drain and almost flooded the bedroom, food was soo overpriced and quite rank (£95 for what seemed like microwaved food), room was £160 for the night and for the amount wrong with it id still be raging if i paid £100. Absolute waste of money

Best French Toast I have ever eaten :) Delicious cappuccinos and great selection of everything. Fantastic view whilst having dinner and breakfast. Staff also very friendly and helpful at breakfast.
Room with lake view was very small. For one night it was ok but had hardly space to put down suitcases.
an elevator would perhaps be useful.

L'hôtel fait partie d'un ensemble d'hôtels appartenant à un propriétaire indien. Comme nous apprécions beaucoup la cuisine indienne nous avons commandé un repas indien pour le diner (parmi des plats plus locaux). Nous avons été très déçus. Mais le personnel était charmant!

The atmosphere is truly magical, the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant is excellent. Everything about the stay was wonderful, and my only regret is that I didn’t stay longer. I would happily come back again.

The location was beside a busy road with nowhere within walking distance. The dining room didn't appear large enough to accomodate the number of guests. We almost couldn't get a table but eventually got squeezed into a corner away from the windows beside the service entrance
No fridge, glasses, biscuits in the rooms, despite being £636 for two rooms for one night. Expensive for what it was.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026We really enjoyed the location, it was an absolutely beautiful scenery. The facilities were also very clean and well stocked. And the staff was kind.
Overall, we were disappointed by our stay. For the amount of money the hotel costs ($420 USD/ night), we thought it would be a quiet oasis with amenities and great food. The reviews also made it seem that way. Instead, our room was small and extremely loud as it was right on the main highway. The staff kindly offered to move us but the other room was tucked into the hotel and was loud due to people walking by. There were no amenities - the only was the spa where you had to pay to use the hot tub and sauna. The dinner was okay but expensive and the breakfast (which is included) was bare bones. If the price was lower all of this would have been fine but considering what they charge, we did not expect this and would have booked somewhere else.

The welcoming staff at the resent was not very friendly, when we came for supper without a reservation because we just arrived, we were told we had to have reservation and they are not sure they can seat us even though the dining area was pretty much empty. They ended up seating is outside which is fine, just found this a bit unwelcoming which left a sour taste.

Beim Nachtessen gibt es alle Arten von Essen - Schottisch, International, Pizza und „feine Indisches“ Essen! War sehr gut 👍😎
Frühstücksbuffet war sehr fein mit viel Auswahl.
Ausstattung vom Hotel und Zimmer geschmackvoll eingerichtet!
Wir können The Whispering Pine Loge weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Aug 26, 2026We booked this room eight months in advance, but unfortunately it turned out to be the worst room the hotel had to offer. It faced the parking lot and the street, and Room No. 1 could only be reached from outside the main building — it felt more like a garden shed than a hotel room.
When we raised this, we were told the hotel was fully booked. However, a check of their website showed two rooms still available. We asked to cancel, but this proved impossible under their cancellation policy. To their credit, the hotel arranged for us to stay at a sister property about 20 minutes away, where we received a much better room. We appreciated their willingness to find a solution.
Guests are not adequately informed about the risks associated with certain rooms. At £250 per night and up, this is a steep price for accommodation that is not accurately advertised.
The most disappointing part of this experience was that we contacted the hotel shortly after booking to clarify that we did not require an accessible room. The only reply we received was that this had been “noted” — yet nothing changed. It seems the hotel was simply counting on guests who would accept the room regardless of price.
It is unfortunate that tourists are essentially being taken advantage of when it comes to their money.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Un hôtel magnifique, ancien, de style purement écossais, avec des boiseries, et du tartan sur les murs et le sol. Le bar, dédié au poète Burns est très beau. La vue sur le Loch Lochy, dont on peut profiter au restaurant comme sur la terrasse pour boire le thé est superbe. C est un hôtel comme on le souhaitait pour notre dernière nuit après un beau et grand périple dans les Highlands !
Le seul bémol est la musique en fond sonore présente dans le bar et le restaurant, le soir comme le matin, et qui n est pas du tout en accord avec le lieu qui inspire la détente et l apaisement (de la variété des années 80). Du jazz ou de la musique classique seraient beaucoup plus appropriés !

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026Etablissement géré sans humanité ni écoute du client. La direction est sourde aux demandes et déploye en apparence un service qu elle fait payer sans cesse. Le sauna 40 euros le jacuzzi idem. Cette vision business est impropre à répondre aux critères d'élégance des grands hôtels.
La surdité de la direction sur les erreurs de réservation et leur préfabrication. Ne pas y aller et s 'en détourner. L'établissement a dû être racheté par des commerçants pas par des hôteliers.

The menu was very limited, and the room was not as nice as I hoped. The wooden floor wasn’t swept during our entire stay.

Die Lage ist top und das Essen war sehr gut.
Die Zimmer waren eher eng. Kein Schreibtisch bzw nur eine sher enge Konsole. Die Lüftungs-Situation war sehr schlecht. Es war sehr heiss und wir konnten nicht richtig lüften. Blick auf das gegenüberliegende Dach bei dem Preis war enttäuschend. Der Service war stellenweise nicht verfügbar, wir mussten auf uns aufmerksam machen.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2026Sehr schönes Hotel direkt am See, wir haben ein Zimmerupgrade kostenlos bekommen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war richtig toll. Die Einrichtung ist eher etwas altmodisch, aber das ist ja gerade das Tolle gewesen:) Das Restaurant war zum See hin und somit hatte man eine tolle Aussicht.

بعض الموظفين فيهم عنصرية شنيعة وهالشي اثر على اقامتنا كعائلة وتحليلي للسبب هو عدم اعطاء اكرامية!!! لكن كلمة حق الاغلب تعاملهم اكثر من رائع. العنصرية صدرت من موظفين ثنين اتمنى من الادارة يلتفتون لهم.

Ich hatte bereits im Februar darum gebeten, ein ruhiges Zimmer zu erhalten. Leider wurden wir in ein Zimmer direkt an der Straße und am Parkplatz außerhalb des Hotels abgeschoben. Das Zimmer war barrierefrei, was zufolge hatte, dass sich das Waschbecken in Sitzhöhe befand. Bei unserer Ankunft war das WC nicht geputzt. Es waren auch noch gebrauchte Taschentücher im Zimmer zu finden. Das Bett war wirklich sehr unbequem(Lattenrost). Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass Gäste für eine Nacht nicht sehr willkommen sind. Zum Frühstück gab es nur Kaffee aus der Kanne. Bei diesem Übernachtungspreis für uns ein No go. Abends hatten wir unser Abendessen in der Bar. Leider gab es Probleme bei der Bestellung, allerdings wurde uns danach ein gratis Nachtisch angeboten. Der Kellner war etwas überfordert, aber sehr freundlich.

Our room had a fairly bright green /yellow emergency light on at night which disturbed our sleep.
When I mentioned it to the gentleman at the front desk, he explained that it’s there by law, and for me that was that.
Later after checkout when I was seeing comments here and on other reviews , I noticed that this has been repeatedly mentioned months ago as well. Also the same light hasn’t been a bother during our other stays elsewhere. So , my present conclusion is that the the bracket holding the light in place needs replacing, which has not been done despite previous reviews
Would request the management to address it rather than brushing it off . This place is more expensive than the surrounding peers, hence expectations will rise

Beautiful location. The room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. Ross, the bartender at the pub was great and took good care of us.
Everything was fine. We just had some steps to climb with luggage to our room but the staff did offer assistance.

Toilet not flushing. Hot, stuffy room. No staff at 5am checkout. Breakfast not served until 7.30am, so we missed out as we had to leave early to find a usable toilet. Staff unwilling to admit the toilet was faulty. No apology or refund. Very disappointing.

The Indian front desk employee was amazing 👏 he was very polite and professional compared to others.
The breakfast service was horrible, garmby staff ,and the food was not up to standard.
By the way I noticed when they see Arab or Indian they dont smile the moment European or British persons appear a big fat smile and greating them to them wonder what the management 🤔 doing during hiring a racism employee.
I didn't have breakfast on the second day to avoid the bad service and the unpleasant experience.
I rated the hotel 8 only because of that.
I suggest a mini fridge in the room will be much appreciated by the guest, attention to detail important this what make a suite room luxur

Reviewed Jun 13, 2026Staff were exceptional, really supportive, helpful and friendly without ever being intrusive, giving feeling that nothing was too much bother. Reception staff suggested room change after realising my friend had mobility issues as there is no lift - this was done without any fuss or embarrassment. In dining room later staff offered change of table to window which was greatly appreciated and throughout our stay were amazing, despite sitting out late on veranda after dinner we were made to feel welcome and not pushed to leave.
Minor comment was overcooked fried eggs & bacon at breakfast but this didn’t detract our experience as there was an extensive choice and plenty of other options so still enjoyed.

The hotel’s location was excellent and very convenient for exploring the area.
However, we felt that the staff could have been a bit more helpful with some of the issues we encountered during our stay. While they were polite, additional assistance and guidance would have improved our overall experience.
I was also concerned to notice a stain on the bed linen, which affected my impression of the room’s cleanliness. I believe greater attention to housekeeping and quality control in this area would be beneficial.
Despite these points, the hotel has many strengths, particularly its fantastic location, and with some improvements it could provide an even better guest experience.

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026Pretty much everything was fantastic. The room was beautiful with a double aspect view of Loch Lochy. Spotlessly clean as well. We had our two dogs with us who are made very welcome. They even provide little dog goodie bags which was a nice touch and the dogs are allowed in all parts of the hotel except the bar. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is fantastic too (I've eaten there before this stay as well and the food was excellent then too, so not a one off. The outside terrace at the restaurant is great, with stunning views across the Loch to the hills. We were blessed with excellent weather too which helped.
Literally nothing. I couldn't fault this place at all. Can't wait to return.

La salle à manger est avec une vue magnifique.

Chambre spacieuse très "british"
TRES GROS problème par arpport à la salle de bain: il est inadmissible d'avoir de tel defauts d'entretien : mitigeur de douche dont l'arrivée eau froide se detache du carrelage et SURTOUT taches de moisisure dans les angles du bac à douche et sous la frise basse à l'interieur de la douche - c'est dommage que l'on ne puisse pas mettre les photos prises illustrants cela.
Le rapport qualité / tarif devient alors hors norme : 365£ la nuit n'est pas normal ! je ne suis pas difficile, mais à ce tarif, on peut attendre une salle de bain IMPECCABLE ...
Cela fait passer en arrière plan le fait qu'il n'y a pas de tablette pour poser ses affaires de toilettes

La déco, les équipements et le côté cocon, chaleureux de l'hôtel. Sans parler du calme et de la sérénité du lieu, au bord du loch Ness. Un régal pour les yeux !
La chambre très agréable, grande, bien agencée et équipée. Tout confort.
Mention spéciale pour le petit-déjeuner et le restaurant. Un délice ! Bravo au chef !

Reviewed May 19, 2026Sehr schönes Zimmer, das Bett war wirklich bequem und das Bad sehr stilvoll. Abends im Restaurant hatten wir beide ein superleckeres Curry mit dem besten Naan ever.
Das Zimmer ließ sich nur schlecht lüften und es war recht warm in der Nacht. Die Lage an der Straße fanden wir nicht so toll, da auch in der Nacht reger Lkw Verkehr herrschte und es ziemlich laut war.
