Barali Beach Resort Koh Chang

Barali Resort was simply stunning. The staff are so warm, helpful, and attentive. Sadly, the resort and Island are being affected by the events on the Thai-Cambodian border, however, from our experience and understanding, Koh Chang is very safe. We had a beautiful few days here with family. Help out the locals and support Koh Chang. A special mention to the F&B team, especially Justin.

The hotel did not fully live up to our expectations. The location is remote but peaceful, which is nice if you want to relax. The rooms appear to have been renovated recently. However, we booked a deluxe villa advertised with a rain shower, but in reality it only had a handheld shower. The bed linens had noticeable blue, red, and yellow spots, as did the blue beach towels, and the white towels also had stains and holes. The beds were firm, as is common in Thailand. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and assisted with our luggage. The pool area is decent, and breakfast was satisfactory with an egg station available. We were unsure if the spa mentioned on the hotel’s website is still in operation, as we did not see it during our stay. Overall, the hotel has some nice features, but the room quality and advertised amenities did not meet expectations.

Excellent location, setting amongst established grounds, pool, beach, bar, restaurant - everything was perfect! Rooms were spacious and very private - we had a mix of deluxe and premier in our group. The reception team were brilliant - even arranged for a snorkelling trip and massages by the pool. Nothing was too much trouble! The only thing that could have been better, and I’m scraping the bottom of the barrel here, is the temperature of water in the shower, was luke warm at best.

We spent 3 amazing nights at Barali Resort in Koh Chang and loved every second of it. Our villa was absolutely beautiful—spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with a large balcony and a private bath/spa that opened into a peaceful little garden. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we slept like babies every night! A highlight of our stay was the romantic beachside dinner organized by the staff. The food was delicious, and we had the most breathtaking sunset as our backdrop—an unforgettable experience. Each morning, we looked forward to the generous breakfast buffet with so many tasty options to choose from. The staff at Barali were outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely welcoming. From reception to housekeeping to the restaurant team, everyone made us feel truly cared for. We highly recommend Barali Resort to anyone seeking a serene beachfront getaway with top-notch service and stunning views. Thank you, Barali Resort, for an unforgettable stay! We hope to return one day.

If staying at Khlong Prao Beach, would recommend staying here. Nice quiet complex of bungalows. A slight bit dated in the rooms in spots, but very spacious, comfortable, and clean. (The bathroom is VERY spacious!). Beach towels and carrying basket provided. Breakfast was terrific - lots of variety and some items changing each day. Pool is lovely; beach area not very crowded. Dinner near the bar as the sun set was very relaxing and picturesque - and food options very good, too (try the green curry!). Staff very helpful arranging transfer to Trat airport, an afternoon snorkeling and swimming trip from Bang Bao pier, and a scooter rental another afternoon (definitely rent a scooter!). Very enjoyable time in Koh Chang and at the Barali; would stay there again!

Nice resort

We stayed here for six nights in October. We had a wonderful time. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens. The pool is large. We ate at the restaurant a few times, which was lovely. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. I would’ve liked a wider choice of breakfast cereals, but that was the only downside. All in all, a beautiful hotel.

Great quiet hotel and by the sea but its not a beach for sitting or swimming, its very flat so tide is either in or miles out. When out though can walk for miles. Fantastic breakfast in lovely surroundings

We stayed here for 6 nights. Good points: spacious rooms, lovely setting within the garden, right at the beach, friendly staff. Points for improvement: breakfast is ok, only sugar yoghurt is served unfortunately no muesli is served, the whole premises needs maintenance, the deck at the beach definitely needs attention. Next door via the beach there are some lovely restaurants to have lunch or dinner.

Nice hotel, we get up-grate, friendly personnel all was OK.

Lovely rooms and location with a nice clean beach. The staff as per usual in Thailand friendly and keen to please a true asset. However it appeared there at the time start of the high season new staff or trainees so a few issues with knowledge and skills. Here and there a little maintenance required on the decking areas I think being independent and having a few lean years in Thailand owing to lack of tourism cash flow may of been an issue I’m sure after a good season this will change as I could hear maintenance taking place I would be more than happy to come back to this bit of unspoilt Thailand and this hotel.

Just left hotel with a bad feeling which is shame we stayed in villa with our own pool for 5 nights perfect But the catering at the hotel needs reviewing it was raining so decided on room service no menu's in the room tried to call on 3 occasions no reply so gave up Breakfast we like to eat early so arrived at the restaurant at opening all the food including Thai food was completely cold the person cooking eggs and bacon was untrained on the 5 morning bacon was only ready 1 day the fried eggs were cold no poached eggs boiled eggs or scrambled were offered only omelette I stayed at this hotel in April and the breakfast was 100 percent better the chef today was taking photos of the food but what it didn't show all the food was cold

The resort is accessed from the main road via 500m of narrow paved road. Welcome was lovely and the resort has an open feel with beautiful paths (lit very tastefully) in the evening. Our bungalow was set back from the pool area, fully detached with windows on all sides. Step down into the sunken bath for a luxury dip. The room is well appointed with mini bar and safe. Bags for the beach with towels. When arranging our onward journey to a nearby hotel the staff were very helpful and asked no charge for the trip. All together a delightful stay.

We stayed for 3 nights wish it could have been longer. Amazing breakfast. Beautiful private beach. Infinity pool. You feel like your in a tropical paradise all the greenery around you. Loved it ❤️

Nice resort and beach. Only problem was the bed (or pillow - or maybe both), it was too hard. After 3 nights I could barely move my neck. Thailand seems to have really hard beds overall, but this was worse than other places. Could just be us though.

Mysigt boende med egen strand. Trevlig, hjälpsam personal. Bra frukost. Vi var jättenöjda med vår vistelse.

Stunningly beautiful place, but had a bad experience with the receptionist and the room. We booked a sea view villa and it was not worth it - worn out and the check in experience was bad. It seems we unfortunately had a bad luck with this place or something. Was not wort the price we payed, would probably been much happier if my expectations would have been of 2,5-3 star hotel. Breakfast with the incredible views and exceptional selection was worth 4+ stars.

The setting is stunning and we found ourselves at the pool or beach every day for unbelievable sunsets. The staff are friendly, helpful, and well trained. The rooms are large and the bathrooms are very nice, with a garden shower. Unfortunately, not a comfortable chair to be found if one would like to sit and read.

Resort was nice but not specially memorable. Breakfast was quite basic, staff very friendly. Pool in need of better cleaning. Goof location close to village and straight on a beach. Sea not good for swimming (march) because water shallow all the time. Beach shore good for walking and clean.

The location is wonderful, a good sized pool located on the beach which stretches around this side of koh kood several miles. Good sunbeds and friendly staff. However the breakfast is not so good, limited Selection, the bread was hard, one type of cheese and one type of youghurt. The bungalows was probably at one point great but it needs to be updated! We had roaches coming from a hole in the bathroom that We covered with a Towel. When We complained We where offered to move the last day and got a fruit plate as compensation - not very we’ll handled! There’s better places by the beach in koh Chang.

We stayed at this resort for a couple if nights and I was a but scared at first due to some of the bad reviews. We however did not recognize any of them so they must have improved based on the feedback! Our villa with private pool was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Lovely junglestyle decor but not cheap or old. Everything we needed was there and we had a lovely romantic stay. The pool and beach area are clean and well maintained. We had lunch once there but the restaurant is not that special. Breakfast is very extensive with also a la carte fresh baked eggs, waffles and pancakes. Staff was friendly and some spoke really good English. So overall, we would definitely recommend this place! Maybe just a few things to consider to make it even better: - more active attention from bar personnel to beach area. Would be great if we did not had to get out of our chairs to get a drink plus it will increase hotel revenue - i though there was no hairdryer but the morning before checkout I discovered a drawer and there it was 🙈 so maybe make this more noticeable or something.

Great location, very pittoresk vistas, lots of privacy, fabulous beach, good pool, very nice landscaping and super friendly and polite employees who would benefit from some additional training. Food and beverage product is limited and could do with some imagination and improvements. Villas were well cleaned and supplied with amenities- the drawback and failure of this property is the poor state of repair and lack of re-investment. This is apparent nearly everywhere - malfunctioning, noisy, old air conditioner in rooms (a replacement program appears to be on the way), defect beach chairs and in poor condition, decorative lamps in restaurant/pool area nearly falling of their supports (totally rusted through), wooden pool deck area - rotten in parts and a trip hazard, some roof structures in need of repair and cleaning, a larger single family house in the centre of the Resort looks like it has been temporarily abandoned and is used for storage, etc, etc. a real shame, this could be and should be the premier or at least among the premier resorts of Ko Chang by adding some professional management providing some needed training to the young and friendly but inexperienced staff and most importantly some reinvestment and much needed repair and maintenance. It looks like the owner opened a splendid resort some 16 years and either forgot all about it or run into cashflow problems. I still recommend a stay since the major and nature driven ingredients for a relaxing holiday are there.

We had an incredible five nights here! Our room was spacious, clean and beautiful. Amazing big bath, free water, good wifi and aircon. The buffet breakfast was an amazing spread with Thai and Western options, and we ate lunch and dinner at the resort too! A whole vegan menu and fresh, tasty food. Beautiful infinity pool, right on the beach with beautiful sunsets. Friendly, helpful staff and so quiet at night for a restful sleep. 100% recommend! We'll be back!

Nice and quiet places to stay right next to the beach. Less than 10 minutes walk to the mian road for shops and restaurant.

Save your money and stay somewhere else. I had a terrible experience, I paid good money to stay at this hotel and was treated rudely, wifi never worked and electricity kept cutting out, I understand these things happen but staff are just rude and unfriendly. Hotel is extremely outdated and furniture is old, the insects and mosquitoes are terrible. Breakfast was awful and food was 2-3 days old. Please don’t waste your money by staying at this hotel.

Upon arrival I felt that the staff was not looking after us. They are there but don’t want to work. The breakfast is really not good. The bread was from 2,3 days ago. The coffee is horrible and the other products in general are not home made but very industrial. Not tasty at all. When we asked for an iron they wanted to charge us! How an hotel can charge you for an iron ? When we did the check out they wanted as well to charge us for the laundry bags! We left the hotel three days earlier as the quality was poor.

Nice resort with a great staff, the bungalow was clean and well appointed. Only real complaint is the mattress was hard and needed to be replaced since the springs caused discomfort. But the overall experience was great thanks to the staff.

Nice resort with good qualities and service. 5 min walk to the "main road" with shops etc. Nice pool and beach area with attentive service.

Beautiful villa, beautiful island, beautiful country

Good resort, good service but wifi very weak

Okej boende.

I really like this hotel and have a good time here, but air conditioner can't adjust temperature and WiFi is not very good.

Good location, but poorly maintained. We found a large spider in our bed (just between the pillows) at check-in, but was removed by housekeeping. The thai food was ok, but experienced a terrible seafood barbecue (everything was cold when served and communicating this to the staff prompted no response). The location is really good and the view from the restaurant and private beach is beautiful. The WiFi was unreliable and the breakfast buffet was slightly below expectation.

Beach is very clean and sandy no rocks - waves are safe for children - shallow waters. Good for visit even during rainy season. Room is recently renovated hence very new and nicely done. Staffs always helpful.

We all had an amazing time at Barali me my mum 2 little boy's and my wife, very relaxed atmosphere and friendly and helpful staff, absolutely delicious and great choice for breakfast we would definitely return. Thanks again Barali see you soon.

All staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. The villa was a good size, the bed was very comfortable and a minutes walk from the pool and beach.

Peaceful hotel compared to nearby hotel Centrara but rock hard bed and rain showers in out off date .

Not crowded, felt like u only one in hotel at times, breakfast good choice of Thai and American. Good sand water warm was great any time of day, pool was cooler than ocean.

Overall we were very happy with our choice of the Barali Beach Resort for our stay in Kho Chang. As there are many resort locations to choose from on the island we found this resort met all of our expectations. The facility is well maintained and is in a beautiful quite location. The beach is wonderful (sunset walks were amazing), great swimming pool. The food and service is quite good, they provide a very nice buffet breakfast that allows you to have a wonderful ocean view. Transportation is very accessible and the staff will certainly assist you with any needs you may have. As we drove our own car to the island the resort has ample quest parking. Please note if you drive yourself please drive with caution as the roads are very narrow and mountainous with some steep grades and very sharp turns, but a wonderful experience that should be explored even but taxi, scooter or car. If they were to improve on anything I think it would have to be the hot water pressure as we found it a bit low.

Amazing staff. Rooms need upgrading.

Quiet and private beach Tropical landscaping and resort design are beautifulindividual chalet type suites are very unique and comfortable. Sofa bed is not comfortable for adults. The available cots have a split mattress which is not comfortable either. Breakfast is a large buffet of a selection of western and Thai foods, something for everyone and the dining room overlooks the ocean. I would return to Barali Beach and would highly recommend this facility.

Nice size room and bathroom, easy access to pool and beach. Helpful staff. Kids loved looking at the hermit crabs on the beach.

This hotel was lovely and me and my boyfriend enjoyed our stay here. To begin with the staff didn't seem to be very organised and we didn't get to check in to our room on time and not having a room number made it difficult to order food and drink and have towels on the beach whilst we waited. Nevertheless, our holiday improved each day and we would stay at Barali again in the future. The beach is lovely and the pool also. The beach bungalows give a special feel to the place and I really enjoyed my stay. It's just a short walk up to the main road where there is lots to see and do.

This facility had an amazing villa with a lovely bathroom with a sunken tub and rainforest shower. HOWEVER, the water pressure was horrible so you could not take advantage of it. The location is fine for the island and it was a very comfortable stay, but it would be more pleasurable to have the villas better serviced to enjoy the tub and facilities. The staff seem to not check and manage this as a standard room cleaning procedure which is regrettable.

We stay twq weeks and my dougther and hes boyfrend two weeks d

our stay at barali beach was excellent, the area is perfect for nearby restaurants and the beach was good, has some Corel but when the tide is out you see the area to avoid for when the tide comes in. The grounds and buildings are very well looked after. The only problem withe the resort was that there was no hot water but this was not a major issue as the cold water was not too cold but refreshing.

Booked a weekend here, enjoyed my stay, easiest was to rent a motorcycle from the main road for half the price! Get to breakfast early, all the best is out, the average breakfast for thai islands, i did feast though. Hot water was a dissapointment when it comes to the awesome bath! But def worth it for Low season prices!
