Fixtures like curtains and curtain rods need proper fixing :)
The location is definitely superb! The cabin was spacious and had basic appliances. Staff is very nice and welcoming too.
No AC which was difficult at night. For that price, there could have been included at least tea and coffee for the morning.
Beautiful view out the front. Right on the water.
Cookware and grill were pretty much unusable. Scratched up non-stick coating on pans. Grill was dirty and rusty. Grill brushes were very used and need to be replaced. Back bedroom on bathroom side smelled moldy. Had to toss a couple blankets and duffel bag and other items after we left. Couldn’t get the smell out. Fans were cracked, noisy and very dirty. My wife had to clean the grates on them herself so they didn’t blow dust wads around. Our first time in the area so we were a good distance from Manitoulin island. If you are going just to fish and don’t care about the accommodations, you will be happy.
This stay allowed pets, which was difficult to find in the area. And we were able to book day of with flexible check in time, which was useful after a long day on the road.
Check in instructions were very lacking and we had a difficult time locating the correct cabin. There were no provided map or signs to indicate how to locate the cabins. There was an additional charge for individual linens and towels which was off-putting, and yet we found long dark hairs and small stains on the provided linens. There was no provided hand soap anywhere in the cabin. When we arrived there were clear urine stains on the toilet seat and the bathroom had not been properly cleaned. This was just a place for us to stay for the night on a long road trip and I would not have wanted to stay any longer than we had.
Right on the lake, good quality outside furniture.
Indoor furniture was old. Bed and sofa need replacing.
Jen and Mark were very helpful with the technical issues we had with Starlink to our unit. There was no wifi access, we used our own data. The unit we had was spacious right on the lake, lovely views. There was a 2 ring cook top, toaster oven and microwave. A BBQ was on the deck. Bathroom was a good size and had a lovely shower. It was blackfly season and we donated a lot of blood. Loved waking up to the lake view. It is very quiet and there are boats available for guests.
Suggestions, instructions for appliances and tv would be great. Starlink is not easy to negotiate. Fans would also be great for second bedroom.
Large cabin with lots of room that suited our family. For the most part it worked well.BBQ on the deck was a bonus
The step from the bedroom area should be clearly marked - “watch step”
We let ourselves in. No one was there, late at night when we arrived. Bed was very old! Not a nice mattress. Bathroom was small but clean.
The bed. Room was very dated.
Very nice accommodation. The receptionist was very helpful. Make sure to book the sauna Apartment. It has a hot tube outside with lake view a great patio and a private sauna. The lake access over a wooden pier is easy and perfect after sauna.
Beautifully located at the lake.
It was definitly no deluxe cottage, rather rustic. The specified heating was only a heating coil, not enough for cold october weather. We froze a lot. The equipment was very old and partially broken. It did not seem very clean overall. We had a mouse in the cottage, although we kept the door closed.
Lovel small little cottage. Mark was great in corodinating everything.
Beautiful place around the lake
This is amazing place !
Mixed bag of a stay Pros: beautiful landscape, really nice lake with a dock for swimming, free lifejackets for the kids, nice firepits and BBQs at each cabin, good communication from front desk lady Cons: no air conditioning, so it was extremely hot in the cabin even with windows open and fans on. Cabin was quite rustic and rundown -- cracked windows, front door doesn't close properly, parts of the floor collapsing. The pullout couch frame was broken so we had to put the mattress on the floor. Beds were not comfortable at all. Was told there was a fully stocked kitchen but there was the bare minimum imo (no salt or pepper, no mixing bowls, not enough cookware, etc). Worst part was they charged us for every little thing (wood, towels, even bedsheets!!! Shouldn't bedsheets be included?!) and it felt like we were being nickle and dimed -- just include it in a higher overall price.
The host is very friendly and helpful. The cottage is very clean and spacious. Fishing on the dock is excellent. We also had fun kayaking
We had the perfect room with a deck right off our room overlooking Lange Lake. It was a stunning view and location for sure. Our room had a sauna, and we had a hot tub on our deck at our disposal. We also had a barbecue grill which we were able to use to grill in the evening and a lit little stove and kitchenette for cooking breakfast as well. Jenn, the property manager, was extremely friendly and helpful to any of our needs. It should be mentioned that the units do not have air conditioning, thankfully the breeze off the lake helped keep the rooms cool at night for sleeping. Thank you, Lang Lake resort for a wonderful night stay!
Very quiet. Peaceful. Accommodations are rustic but everything is there
The hosts were very friendly and approachable. The view of the lake was beautiful, a lovely place to enjoy with the family.
This place is a hidden gem! Mark and the whole staff are amazing, the views are unparalleled, and I highly suggest taking one of their boats out for the day.
If you have a boat and love to fish then this place is perfect for you! Nice little fish camp by the lake. Nothing fancy but great location.
Beautiful cottages on the water to enjoy our short stay. Host was very kind ensuring we had what we needed, and upgraded us to a cottage with a nicer view. Would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area!
Location
Price no curtains ....wildlife found in cottage...no heat...no soap had to leave
Loved the stay here. It was short-lived as we didn't stay long, but it met and exceeded our expectations. It was veryclean and super nice for just the two of us. It definitely could have slept more as there were 2 other bedrooms. There was enough space for all, and the view was absolutely beautiful. We were very happy, and we will definitely be back 🙂
Perfect view and services
Comfortable, clean, spacious, and beautiful! Mark was always available and very helpful.
Lovely location and accommodation with a real cottage feel. The place was warm and cozy when we arrived and views over lang lake in autumn were beautiful. The lake was at our doorstep and we brought our own bedding, but they will provide if needed. They are very accommodating Hosts.
It wasn't a separate cabin like we thought it would be. It was a suite connected to their main office building. It was clean enough, hardwood floors, and wood paneled walls. A kitchenette and fridge, satellite tv and a couch. No towels, but when I called they brought me some. The beds were pretty crappy. And the blinds were missing multiple slats so we couldn't keep it dark in the morning. It had a deck with a table and chairs outside with a nice view of the lake. It was warm inside, and they let us use the hot tub. It was an okay stay.
We arrived at short notice - same day booking - to stay and we were given a lovely chalet for 2 overlooking the lake. It was a beautiful sunny fall day so we spent quite a bit of time on the dock admiring the view and throwing a ball for our dog into the water. The bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped and stay was delightful.
Very nice peaceful location for 4 guys on their motorcycles
Beds were missing linen :(
Beautiful scenery, wonderful drive in, great cabin experience
Property was clean and organised
Beautiful view. The hosts are very accommodating. Clean and friendly. Great swimming.
Serene unobstructed view of the lake. Spacious cabin. Quiet area perfect for getting away from the city. Natural landscapes there are beautiful. Short drive to nearby town.
Location on a beautiful lake
This is a drop dead beautiful location at the end of a wilderness lake. We had a renovated cabin but the beds were beyond belief bad and staffing minimal to none.
It’s a true cottage, bring bedding, soap(s), wine glasses etc. It has no ac so it was very hot. The location is amazing, but small things would increase the experience. It was great to see kids fishing off the dock and you can rent canoes and kayaks. And it’s dog friendly.
We booked 2 beds, but when we arrived there was none. We had to set up pull out couch and Murphy bed. Very uncomfortable! Strong waste water stench beside the cottage. No AC! Screen patio door jammed and big gap even when closed, so we could not have the patio door open because mosquitos came through the gap. Unfair check out time (9 am).
Stayed one night arrived at dark left at 7am. Nice spot having a drink on the deck listening to the loons was nice! Would go again. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The cottage eas great, it was pull out beds, but modern and nice , scenery was nice, hot tub good!
Excellent location, on the lake. Friendly staff and fishermen around. Family swam and enjoyed that. The "cottage" we stayed in was more like a cabin than a cottage. It was very rustic. Dishes were older and not enough cutlery for all of us. Kitchen table and chairs were wobbly and breaking. It did the job for 1 night, but there was a smell coming from the sink/behind stove that wasnt pleasant. I reported to staff, and they said they would look into it. Overall, we wouldn't stay here again. It is probably great for fishing and boating, not great for families with young children. Good alternative to camping.
Communication, the web site describes a restaurant on site, it doesn’t exist. No one was available to greet us and to tell us how to get to our cabin. On the morning of our expected arrival I received a text saying there was trouble with my payment. ( I had believed that I had paid for the stay at the time of the booking ) at that time he also sent me a pre arrival form, it asked about wether linens and towels were needed and how much (?) The cabin itself was cute A frame with beds available on the 2nd floor up a very steep stair located perilously close to the wall. There were soft spots on the floor covered by relatively new laminate. It was clean. Coffee maker, kettle, microwave, stove fridge were clean and available to use ( no coffee). Having never been to this resort before or having had rented a cabin before it really would have been nice to have it communicated. It was expensive for what was provided.
Excellent location and facilities
Awesome location and friendly staff
Place was out of date and there was no restaurant or wifi. Owner was nice and the view was beautiful but other than that subpar.
It was quiet, and the view was amazing. The cabin was comfortable.
We were not aware until the day of arrival about an additional fee for linens and towels. The coffee maker turned on but didn't work. The check out time is 0900, which is extremely early if you're not a fisherman.
Dining on the balcony with lake view and the Milky River is fantastic
There are no bathroom amenities.
Cottage was lakefront, view was great. Washroom a little tight. Had rain all night when we stayed and lots of killer mosquitoes next day. Still reeling from mosquito bites lol. Pack good amount of repellents if planning to stay. Very serene and quiet for relaxation. Only twelve minutes drive from town of Espanola. Mark and his dad were were very accommodating and communicative. Overall, it was great.
As Canada's top UFO Hunter & The lead researcher of the Unknown Intelligence Communication Project (UICP), I can honestly tell you that the Espanola area and Lang Lake resort in particular, is a high volume UFO traffic cordor Which presents unique opportunities to view unknown anomalies in the night sky.
We had a great stay and the host was extremely helpful. Provided everything we needed.
My family and I absolutely had the most wonderful time at the cottage. It was beautiful and the view was absolutely stunning. We will definitely be making this a yearly thing. We'd like to start going every summer and maybe winter. Weather was cold but we still had a blast and loved the wood stove. We will definitely recommend lang lakes to people.
Property is good but the room we got was dirty, but it was changed to a better room and a clean ones too. Food is not available and no bar as well
Extremely well organized and beautiful resort. Would definitely return and recommend!
Scenery was beautiful.
Staff requests for additional payment for bedding and towels. Lights on exterior of cabin not working so could not see coming or leaving on rock path at dark. Freezer to fridge wasn’t working. Coffee maker took an hour to make a pot of coffee. We were going to have guests stay over but they were put off by the staff. We had wanted to rent boat to fish and be on the water but ended up going away from resort to do activities instead. Rented for celebration of life with family members and were met with requests for additional payments for bedding and towels. Bedding provided was old, see through and ripping.
More of a suggestion. We had to check in really late (not resort fault)so it was already dark. The property could probably use some more lights or a map of which cottage number is which as it was really hard to find to in the dark and for safety reasons.
Not enough water supply for the whole house kitchen & even 1 restroom stripping water. Free Wi-Fi but so disappointed.
Location was easy to find Very well kept
Beds were a little uncomfortable And location of fire pit
We spent 3 days and 2 nights. Management was very inviting and responsive to our needs. The cabin was immaculate and had all the things we required for our stay! It was a ten minute drive to town for groceries or other needs. The only concern we’d have is that not all patio chairs were in the best of shape, so not all of us necessarily had something to sit on while out on the deck.
What a lovely little cabin on the lake. We stayed one night whilst en route to another location and it was very convenient because we were getting picked up right there at the dock the next morning.
The only issue we had was that the cabin was hard to find at night. Although the cabin was up the hill, we had to go down to go up, which was a little confusing- I recommend getting there during the daylight.
Use less detergent when washing towels and sheets. The smell is unbearable. You can see that a lot of it has been renovated and is very new. The surroundings are very nice, but the facilities are old and a bit dirty.
We enjoyed the location of the property. Lakeside and close to Espanola for supplies and Manitoulin Island for excursions. Advertised as a "resort" but is really a basic cottage. (fine by us). Enjoyed watching the fishers and had the urge to try fishing again myself. Be sure to go to the property's website for proper costs.
Excellent location on beautiful lake.
The area is beautiful and views from the room were great. The description claims there is Wifi which we did not get, and a restaurant/room service which is not true. A breaker kept going off turning off lights. Mouse feces on the fridge and also on matress of the pull out couch. Were not given a key to the room, just told to go in via text.
An enjoyable property. Will definitely book again.
Lovely and cosy cottage right on the lake. It rained a lot when we visited, but that made for a very quiet and relaxing stay.
I liked the property, our cabin was right on waterfront. Quiet resort. Very clean cabin.
The property had millions of flies inside so it was very hard to sleep without them buzzing in your face. The outdoor space is nice and boat rentals are right onsite.
Opportunity to rent a boat with a temporary boating license, and a wide collection of boats to pick from. Clean, and safe property and friendly manager who accommodated all of our requests.
We didn’t stay long but looked like fishing heaven. Quiet with amazing views
lakeview
Pros. Mark was a great host for our visit. Anything we needed the staff here made sure we got. We got blankets and pillows supplied and for an extra fee got sheets for all the beds and towels for the bathroom less we had to pack. This resort is right on the water and we had fantastic views of the lake. The cottage #8 had recently been redone so everything was new. Had a TV with satellite but no internet. Beds were comfortable and the cabin had 3 bedrooms and living room, bathroom with a shower and kitchen with stove, fridge and microwave. Rented A pontoon boat for the whole week and the cottages had thier own docks so we could park it right outside for easy access. They had thier own gas pump right on site so anytime we needed to top up it was easy. The resort also had canoes and paddle boards for a fee to use for the day. The resort was only 10 minutes from town which made it easy when we had to run and grab something. The lake was great to swim in and the docks had ladders attached to get in and out of the water. The lake had spectacular fishing caught alot of bass large and small mouth and even a couple of walleye. Now for the few cons. The pontoon boat had seen better days and could have used a major power washing of the seats and floors. The motor when we were out would occasionally sputter when pushed above 3 RPMS although it had a 60 horse power motor. The front gate was totally missing and had a rope across it and the lights weren't working so we couldn't be out after dark. All in all a great vacation and would definately would visit here again
Beautiful views from a cozy and clean cabin! Staff was attentive and kind.
The cottages were clean and right on a beautiful lake. Staff were friendly and helpful.
I loved the fully furnished cottage, with the BBQ!
For people who tent camp, this was a treat. The appliances worked really well and the cottage was warm and relatively quiet. Parts of the cottage had been renovated and upkeep was great. It was disappointing to be given one towel for two to share but thankfully we brought along things like towels and toilet paper etc which were in short supply. As our plans were to explore Manitoulin Island, we were close to everything we wanted to do and see. However, there did not appear to be a lot to do at the resort outside of renting a boat if you wished. The view though was worth a million dollars!!!
kitchen dark, narrow hard to use location right on lake fabulous if you book through them you need to provide towels and sheets if you book through expedia they provide them
Never had a chance to stay here as we had to cancel our reservations due to an illness in one of our party. We had submitted our deposit cheque months ahead but were dubious we would ever see that money again. Happily our refund cheque arrived about 2 weeks after our original booking date exactly as stated in their rate and refunds policy. This is one resort you can trust and for sure we will book with them again. Thanks Aizenberg family.
It was close for the venue. Thou it was fairly pricey for the area
This cottage was beautiful. It was nice simple environment. Look like work on cottage was ongoing. Washroom was very small.
Was a bit skeptical but was pleasantly surprised at the interior of our cabin. Very clean and had some resent renos/updates
Water wasn't the clearest, and beds weren't very comfortable. Cabin was nice. Roughing it type cabin, but with water and electrics. Worked well for a short stay during road trip.
The cabin was great and the staff was very helpful and accommodating. My car got stuck in the snow and they were very helpful in getting me out. I would definitely stay here again. Just make sure you have good winter tires if you go in the winter. I would love to come back in the summer.
Staffs very helpful and kind, they told us places to see around the area.
We rented one cottage for 3 days - we felt alone on the lake - such a quiet moment - and so simply used motor boatvand canoe to enjoy the place . And the staf is very simply helpful and effective ! We totally recommend the place !
The wi-fi didn't work, the bedside lamp didn't work and there was only one TV channel. You may have to bring your own sheets and towels.
Awesome, clean Above expectations. Manager was so accommodating. Lovely resort. Would go back anytime and would recommend this resort to anyone.
We spent the May long weekend here. Although the weather was wet, we had a very relaxing stay. Cabin 9 is a great cabin, very close to the water. It has corner windows on both ends, giving beautiful views to the east, south and north, and light comes in all day. The cabin is rustic and charming, like the cottages of our youth, before Muskoka got crazy with 5000 square foot McMansions. The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and fully equipped. The owners are helpful and hospitable, and they allow dogs. There is a snowmobile trail right off the property, making dog walking very easy. Lang Lk is a very pretty lake, and we hope for better weather on our next visit, so we can rent one of their boats and explore more of this (mostly) undeveloped lake. Although this is a semi-wilderness location, there is excellent cell service, and groceries & supplies are available only 15 minutes away in Espanola. Best of both worlds!
We drove past the sign for this resort needing a place to rest our heads for the night. We called and they held the room for us while we went into town (only a few minutes away) to buy groceries. The owner was great and very accommodating. Knowing that we weren't prepared for a camping experience he didn't charge us for sheets/towels. Since our cabin wasn't rented the following night he offered us a late checkout without us asking. #8 was the perfect size for us and our two small kids. Right on the lake with a fire pit, BBQ and chairs. It beat any hotel/motel we would've ended up pulling into instead. I'd recommend this place for their amazing hospitality and friendliness and of course the cleanliness of the cabin and it's superb location!
