The Mount Inn

Nice to be in an annexe so no noise from the pub. Accomodation was good for the price paid and the pub was an excellent local and well patronised. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Helpful staff. Breakfast service excellent. Parking. Near to centre.

Pub very welcoming and nice selection of beers . Unfortunately didn’t do food Monday night. Nice breakfast the next day

Beautiful old pub, accommodation quiet and comfortable. Easy walking distance into the town. Friendly people.

Staff found to be very friendly and welcoming. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Rooms are a little dated but confortable and clean.

For the price cant fault the room, bed was comfortable. Issue was with the pub for meals, be warned if staying here and wanting food may be worth booking table in advance. We arrived at 5pm to find food started being served at 6pm and there was no table available until 8pm! Not the best with two hungry teenagers..

Staff and service were excellent, prompt check in, and very friendly black lab pub dog! Rooms were tired - mostly clean but shower grout needs a good clean, bathroom radiator needs rust sanded off and fresh paint. Mattress old, lumpy and too hard. Pub noise till very late. Breakfasts excellent and fast, plenty of food, good coffee.

Nice stay. Pub food excellent as was breakfast

Good convenient stay, great pub, good food and plenty of other restaurants and pubs around too

The bedrooms are comfortable and basic . The bathrooms could do with being updated

Check-in fine; room was comfortable, if a little bit too warm. Excellent breakfast. No evening meal but the Red Lion just a hundred metres or so way did a very good meal.

Nothing wrong with the property but we had extremely noisy neighbours staying above us that kept us awake!!!

Business stay over. Ideal location and good car park close to the room.

Great place good beer lovely friendly staff wonderful pub

I stayed at The mount Inn for a weekend. The room was very clean and Tidy . I had dinner there which was lovely . Nice choice of food and very reasonable prices. The breakfast was lovely too ! The staff were very friendly and welcoming ! I would definitely stay there again .

Very welcoming friendly people we all had steak dinner it was excellent

A great wee traditional pub with good beer and good food. Very friendly and efficient staff. Our bedroom was nice and spacious and the beds comfortable. The only issue we had was the shower head was positioned very low over the bath , making it very difficult to use.

Lovely old building, friendly and helpful staff, good evening meal. The shower in my room (3) needed attention.

Very welcoming and comfortable. Well equipped rooms and great location in the village. Food available and food shopping and and other pubs/restaurants nearby

The Inn was in a convenient location for my trip as there was not a great deal around. The lady who greeted us was very welcoming and friendly. Despite being a pub, I found it very quiet overnight. The rooms really need updating as they are very outdated with poorly placed sockets and no bedside tables, and the bathrooms need some TLC. There was black mould in the ceiling of the shower and in between the tiles that could easily be removed with some mould and mildew cleaner. One of our bathrooms was especially tight. I am quite small and found I had to use the toilet at an angle because it was so close to the wall. If I had closed the door while using it, my knees wouldn’t have been far from it and I could have rested my head against it. Some of the breakfast options included a Full English, bacon/sausage sandwich, porridge and cereals. Overall, I would stay there again only if I really had to but otherwise I would find somewhere else due to the discomfort of the bedroom/bathroom.

very short but worth the one night

Excellent

Always good to stop here again Love it

Friendly staff Accommodation perfectly fine with comfortable bed

Great pub, simple but lovely room and they did a great breakfast and dinner.

Great pub lovely staff good breakfast comfortable bed quite location

Lovely location with ample parking on site. The room was OK, warm and welcoming, but the mould in the bathroom really needs addressing. Breakfast was great and they cater for gluten free which is always a huge plus for me. Great for a quick stop over for work.

Great Little pub with good food available, Breafast menu was good and freshly cooked to order. The accommodation was clean and comfortable.

Lovely get away visited Hafren forest lovely. Enhanced by the Mount Inn

Property a little bit tired and in need of repairs. Accommodation generally OK basic for a stay. Staff are lovely.

Very quick at getting me booked in, less than a minute. 1 minute walk to town centre, private parking on site, tea & coffee, en-suite room + a radiator that was hot. Only issue is I needed to be away early and couldn’t check out until 7:30am. Breakfast starts at 8am. Good for private stays but not when your on the road travelling for business.

Value for money, good food and friendly staff

Brilliant value for money.

Great for stopovers

Nice comfortable stay and friendly staff Great breakfast

Motorcycle trip to Wales where we needed a base for the weekend. Staff could not be more welcoming and the pub is a really friendly place to spend the evening. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Very friendly staff, good food, and excellent beer. A great location for sightseeing. Will definitely be coming back again.

Excellent affordable accommodation

Average small town hotel withe good eating facilities. Parking can be a bit tight when fully booked. We came, we drank, we dined we slept and departed quite early .. no problems

Basic but comfortable room. Only issue was tv reception which was breaking up constantly . Beds comfortable & nice hot shower. Tea/coffee facilities were welcome

A really decent place to stay, rooms are sizeable and have what you need although a little dated; staff are really friendly and helpful and they do a good breakfast.

Lovely honest to goodness accomodation

I was made very welcomed and had a very enjoyable short stay . Will definitely be going back. lovely place

Comfortable room, great shower. Breakfast good. Friendly efficient staff.

Great old pub accommodation. Friendly and helpful staff. Cooked breakfast arr good. Only problen was that we found out they didn't serve food on Monday evenings (the day we arrived), would have been good to know in advance so we could make alternative arrangements. Otherwise very happy with stay.

Clean rooms, good food, friendly reception and a really lovely pub. Very biker friendly too!

Nice stay great dog frenindly inn. Very nice breakfast

Great stay as usual. Always a pleasure.

The rooms were clean ,beds comfortable, food excellent, choice of cask ale and other drinks excellent, staff and managers friendly .An all round graet place to stay or visit, will be going back soon.

Breakfast great staff friendly room comfortable

Really nice staff , welcoming and friendly . Room tired and a bit dusty , kettle not clean . Food good for price

an average score for an average stay. the building is historic and in a great location but it is in need of a little tlc.

Good service, great staff. Just asking to provide some shampoos, a body washer and a handwasher.

A delightful stay in an hotel with such an interesting history.

Good room , nice pub, nice people

Always stay in the Mount when we go there Always brilliant

One night stopover to break up a very long car journey . Couldn’t have been better, the room wasn’t huge but a very comfortable bed and great shower. Breakfast was pretty good and all for £52. What’s not to like

Splendid comfortable atmospheric pub that caters for all. Excellent service bar andfeskfast

In centre of the town, friendly staff, good service, food was very good

Friendly staff, and easy meal arrangements. Food v good.

For three of us on a ride out into North Wales the Mount is a great starting point. Its the second we stayed there. The staff are great and we had a good night in the pub drinking until last orders. Nice food in the evening and breakfast the following day. The price for the stay is fantastic. We will probably stay here again another day.

Lovely friendly establishment with pleasant patio seating area. Clean and tidy room with comfy bed (single). Enjoyable breakfast choices. Would stay again.

Perfect for me and the puppy as I was able to park car/kennel right outside in the quiet car park. Secluded spot just away from the main high street. Lovely friendly pub, great food, no fuss! Accommodation basic (perfect for me and dog) but clean, all facilities worked well. The only thing I missed was a comfy chair to sit and read... but the bed sufficed (very comfy btw). Would definitely go back.

friendly helpful staff, the accomodation was good value, quiet and comfortable. Had a good nights rest. There was a space to store my bike with a bracket on the wall for connecting the bike lock to. Breakfast included in the price was an appreciated bonus

It was very nice, food was excellent and staff was very friendly, would go again if in the area

Staff were lovely, chatty and helpful. Will definitely stay here again

Warm welcome, bed comfortable and within reason, room spacious. food, as ordered but one problem, car parking., a little difficult on-site.

This has become a favourite stay 👍

Lovely staff, food was really nice. Room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again, thank you 😊

Quaint, old hotel full of character. We stayed in purpose built annexe. Usual facilities & comfortable. Shower good but otherwise water pressure poor, however this did not affect our stay. The staff are very, very friendly and hospitable.

The accommodation is fairly basic, but it met my needs fully. The room was warm and bed comfortable, the shower was lovely and warm too. Everything was very clean. The accommodation is based at the Mount Inn, breakfast was included and the Inn offered a good choice of evening meals. I was spoilt for choice, and eventually chose the mint & pea fritters as a starter and the broccoli & Caulifower bake for main meal. Both were delightful. I found the staff very polite, friendly, and accommodating. Due to problems with my car I had to extend my stay, and was welcomed to stay longer. I cannot fault anything about my stay at the Mount Inn, and would highly recommend it. I look forward to staying there again in future when visiting the area. The surrounding countryside and river Severn is lovely for walking.

Delightful area. Friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

The room , staff , pub was just alround professional, i will stay there again.

Excellent staff so friendly and caring Very old building but so quaint Loved it Will be back soon

A lovely two night stay whilst working in the area. Despite being in the middle of town, was very quiet. Room clean. Bed great. Staff really friendly. Will be back again to explore walking routes with the family.

Have stayed there many times still excellent

Very welcoming - we will be back.

location was really good and close to amenities

A good quality room at a reasonable price. Very good breakfast.

Room nr 1, middle one upstairs above pub area: Toilet 7.5cm/3" from side of wall, no door handle on inside of bathroom door, bathroom fan did not work. Kettle plug couldn't reach socket. Had to boil kettle on floor. Hazardous. One light bulb from light over pillow missing, other light way too bright. No yoghurt with breakfast to eat with fruit. Even asked about it. Full English breakfast one small item of each (no hashbrowns/black pudding). Cheap supermarket bread for toast. When checking out made landlady aware but was blasé and defensive. On the plus side. Dinner was good value for money thought portion size differed between the two of us. Sausage (microwaved), mash (packet/from frozen?), peas (to hard, not long enough in microwave). Fishcakes with chips & salad was larger and ok

Basic, but clean accommodation with a nice breakfast and friendly staff. I’d stay here again.

We stayed at the Mount Inn for 4 nights and I must say for the price per night, it was fantastic value. We each had an ensuite twin room which had a nice homely feel to it. The bed was very comfortable. It had a nice big car park at the rear of the pub which was perfectly safe for our motorcycles. Breakfast was great and there was a nice varied menu for evening meals in the pub. The Landlord and landlady were so helpful and couldn't do enough for you. This pub / hotel is thoroughly recommended.

Excellent friendly stay. Made to feel very welcome.

Property was in a great location

The room was excellent and the staff was very friendly. A real joy to stay there. A very comfortable bed, a quiet location and breakfast freshly cooked.

I stayed here for a one night as a stop over. The room was very clean but it is very basic accommodation probably ideal for overnight ramblers. The bedroom ceiling needed attention as it was seriously cracked which gave me some concern whilst lying in bed. The bed was very uncomfortable and I managed only 4hrs sleep and whilst the linen was crisp and clean there needs to be mattress covers/protectors added to give more comfort. It was nice to have a TV in the room and a good selection tea/coffee/milk was made available along with a kettle. The showering facilities were very good and the bathroom was clean. A concern that I had was that the door to the building was not locked by other guests coming and going and anyone could have come into the building at anytime of the day or night There were locks to bedroom doors although these very much need updating as it was a 'jiggle and a wiggle' to lock my bedroom door. The landlady was lovely and saw me to the block where my room was. Breakfast was at 8am however perhaps this should be made available earlier as I had to miss this due to leaving at 8am An old fashioned pub with friendly staff and a good ambience.

Great hotel, lovely breakfast and great for a snug drink in the evening! Will stay again!

Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Thoughtful toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities were appreciated. Paper thin walls and very outdated furnishings meant it wasn’t the best night’s sleep. Generally clean but the bathroom was miserable. Couldn’t get the shower on more than a luke warm trickle. Didn’t actually want to be in there but needs must. Although it was one of cheapest rooms available for our quick stop off on a longer journey, the accommodation was sadly lacking. Don’t include breakfast (although it was nice) and charge less. I should have spent the extra £30 for the next one up. Wouldn’t stay here again.

The room was in a different building to the busy pub, so it was quiet. Very friendly staff. I'd definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Hotel room was clean and serviced every day. A very old pub setting with lots of history. Very convenient for the town of Llanidloes. Friendly staff. Good breakfasts. Tea and coffee making facilities are good in rooms, but I can only drink de-caf coffee, which was not available. Only downside on this trip was the non availability of dining until after 8.0 o'clock on our first night as there was a large party booking in the pub. However, there are a few restaurants in the town as alternatives. That said, the food in the pub is very good.

I really enjoy staying in Mount in hotel . The room was clean , And I meet the host James . He is a lovey parson , I feel welcome there , and breakfast was lovely to ,

Very reasonable for the price, rooms and particularly the bathroom would benefit from a refresh but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Food was good (both breakfast and evening meal) and pub had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Limited parking. Great for a short stay if your budget is limited as the other hotels in the area are pricey.

The Mount is a good basic hotel for a Llanidloes visit. There's nothing fancy here, but nothing really lacking either. The staff are excellent and so was my breakfast. Within walking distance of everything in town.

Can’t put into words how bad this was. The bathroom was disgusting not to mention the space. We wasn’t allowed to order food either which I’ll never understand how you don’t accommodate for guests And leave them to see everyone else being served food. We was made to pay for games of pool then 2 locals come in and they give them the keys for the table and they drank two water not even a pint but charged us £5.40 a pint and it was average at best. As soon as we arrived locals just looking at us like we had televisions on our heads and acting really strange. So strange Book somewhere else anywhere but here trust me you will regret it. Strange people.

A perfectly nice place to stay and good location. Only spoilt by noisy guests outside the pub talking until 2am on the first night. Second night was fine.

Nothing fancy but a good choice for a night with its central location. Spacious room (although bathroom was a bit small). Quiet at night, even though there isn't any traffic, it had double glazed windows. Super friendly hosts who let me check in early because of the rain.

Very comfortable room, bed and bedding. The couple running the place were really nice and friendly. I appreciated the early check-in.

Second time I’ve stayed and James and the team are very welcoming, food is great and the locals are incredibly friendly. It is becoming an annual pilgrimage for me on my motorcycle and I will definitely come again.

Did everything we needed it to. Very friendly staff, good breakfasts, and room as described. Maybe slightly dated and in need of a refresh but overall we were happy.

Lovely stay would recommend. Many thanks to Claire for her friendly service.
