There wasn't anywhere to dry our things. We were told to use the radiators in the hallway, but they were off.

The beach location, the bar, the breakfast and the friendly and helpful staff. A good place to start an early morning beach walk to Robin Hood’s Bay. Beach was beautiful as low tide. We had a three person room with an en suite bathroom for two adults which was great for an overnight stay.

No proper ramp access for baby trolley also quite price for a room in a container and basic hotel stuff like towels and also a big drawback The smoking area is located at the bottom.

Fantastic location! Good cafe with great quirky decor. Loved the books to read everywhere. Brilliant having a drying room in accommodation, liked showers, WC & change room by beach. Beds were comfy, rooms clean.

Hostel je na čudovitem kraju. Na slikah se sploh ne vidi, kako lepo je umeščen v zalivček tik ob morju. Tu so visoke plime, kraj ni ravno primeren za kopanje, so pa čudoviti sprehodi po klifih in ko pride oseka na obali postane živahno, veliko sprehajlcev, iskalcev fosilov, psov in družin. Čudovit je sosednji kraj in sprehod do tja po klifu (Robin Hood bay). Hostel je izredno lepo urejen, v mornarskem vzdušju. Možno si je naročiti zajtrk ali kosilo. Kuhajo res odlično. Jedli smo vegeterjanski curry, chicken curry, tajske rezance in hamburger, vse je bilo odlično in po dostopnih cenah. Na voljo je pa tudi skupna kuhinja, ki je res dobro opremljena za pripravo lastnih obrokov. Osebje je bilo prijazno in ustrežljivo.

Avto je treba pustiti 200 m višje, ni dovoljeno priti z avtom do hostla, kar sicer podpiramo, saj čuvajo mir in čistočo okrog hostla, je pa kar naporno za znositi prtljago. V sobah bi prav prišel vsaj kak stol.

Very nice place. Close to Robin Hood Bay and great walk to Whitby from there.

The character and charm

Everything. This is a really beautiful, quirky and otherworldly place. We were blessed with the weather but all the staff were lovely, the beds comfortable and amenities as good as a five star hotel

Our room was close to the main door which meant we heard people coming in/going out. It’s not quiet. I worked imagine this would have been more disruptive if it was in the early hours of the morning.

Location is absolutely superb. Staff were cheerful bright and friendly.

The walk up to the car park with bags was tough but doable. Also the communal kitchen is very small. When we went in, there were 3 different families all trying to cook at the same time

We loved the location and the beach. The games and communal area were lovely. Lots of thought has gone into the decorating. Great bike shed too!

Disinterested staff on arrival. Bedroom provided no seat, and not possible to sit upright on bunk bed. Too few seats available in community space for number of guests, had to wait over an hour to sit down in a chair in the warm. After walking for 6 hours in rain with back pack this wasn't a good experience. Our room was on second floor. No kettle available apart from in community kitchen two floors down. Expelair's for toilets and showers constantly on/off, difficult to sleep without earplugs. Food choices disappointing and no assistance with food intolerances when help requested. Breakfast on offer good, but plates, and therefore food, cold.

What an amazing location - directly on the inlet from the beach!! The room was really cute, clean bathroom, super nice staff and good wifi. Though it was filled with families, they were all beautifully behaved and easy to share the space with as an older couple. The fire downstairs was great, and most of the little ones vacated around 8pm, so it was easy to find a place to sit, eat and play cards. Definitely recommend!!

Car park was at the top of the hill, but that is the point for an active holiday!

Lovely friendly staff. Great rooms - clean, spacious, comfortable and great value for the price. The beach is on the doorstep. Very relaxing bar and a good range of meals on the menu, should you choose not to self cater.

Beach in front of you, chilled cafe with log fire and beautiful lighting. Away from the crowds of Whitby and Scarborough also a nice walk to Robins Hood Bay either via beach or high up on costal path

Fantastic visit. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The whole team went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, and the level of care and attention really stood out. They made a genuine effort with our toddler, especially at breakfast, where nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Peter, who took the time to make our little one a fantastic breakfast, all while expertly catering for a school group of 57 children. That kind of effort doesn’t go unnoticed. It was our toddler’s first trip to the seaside and his first stay at a YHA, which made it even more special for us as a family. Seeing his excitement exploring somewhere new, combined with the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, made the whole experience one we’ll remember for a long time. The setting itself is brilliant, and paired with such thoughtful, hardworking staff, it made for a truly memorable trip. We’ll definitely be back.

This place is a bit special. It's a stunning location for this cosy, welcoming YHA. Log fire and a well stocked bar. Clean kitchen for DIY cooking or food available to order. £10 breakie with kids eating for £1 was great value. Lovely walks to be had on the coastal path or along the beach searching for fossils and crabs. Will definitely be returning

Just came back from my stay at YHA Boggle Hole Hostel — what an amazing place! The location is simply stunning, hidden away in a little cove, far from roads and crowds. It’s so peaceful and quiet, the perfect spot to unwind. The staff were fantastic — really friendly and helpful. I ordered some food and enjoyed it by the fireplace, which made for such a cosy evening. The room was good and comfortable (for that price - perfect) I’d definitely come back again!

Walls were a bit thin, so I could hear people walking to and from the toilet. Other than that, everything was great

Only thing was there was a dreadful draft coming through the window - i had to hang up a spare duvet to stop the cold coming through. I understand that the windows and cold can't be helped so we happily dealt with it

Thin walls but to be expected

We absolutely loved this hostel, such a perfect location and brilliantly decorated. Lovely family feel right from the outset - and the gorgeous bar with a proper fire was such a cosy place to come back to of an evening.

The only minor issue with the hostel was that the bathrooms weren't replenished with toilet roll over the weekend so some cubicles became unusuble by the sunday. Thankfully there were plenty of other WCs to use so it was never a big problem.

We loved the property and location, staff were very welcoming.
