Tranquilidad
Good attention small hotel like boutique

We enjoyed staying here and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I really like the cook Stefania who was amazing and so helpful to my familie and I. would recommend it to all.
This was my first stay at Hotel Rey I Loved it very much very beautiful hotel I was so suprised of the room side I will book again
Nice Hotel
Room had no windows
My wife and I couldn't sleep because of the excessively loud music. It was really the only uncomfortable part of our stay.
My wife and I couldn't sleep because of the excessively loud music. It was really the only uncomfortable part of our stay.
They treated me like I was at home
Close to the city
Good value
I had to leave after 1 night. This is in a terrible part of town. The street vendors and people were playing music super load until 3 AM. The room was right on the street and the other room they tried to give me had windows that wouldn't close w large gaps. Terrible is all that comes to mind.
This property was quiet with plenty of parking. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Friendly staff. Convenience area.
The staff were very friendly. The hotel was very clean and the location is near every thing. I would recommend to friend and family.
I just like the customer service and that's it.
I got the most basic room of all.
The staff were friendly, rooms are clean as well as the hotel
to noisy, there was no meals being served at this location, restaurant was indefinitely closed. The duration of our stay from 12-15 of Feb.
The restaurant that is advertised does not exist or did not while we were there on a Saturday and Sunday. No local places to go for coffee or breakfast as the other eating establishments are at least at 10 minute walk away.
there is a disco Teck in the basement of this building, which plays extremely loud music until 2 am, so bring ear plugs and they barely work. Not sure if the other rooms are any quieter.
This property is outdated
The staff were very hospitable and supportive
The staff were very helpful and the room was large, with a fridge and everything I needed. The restaurant upstairs is a nice place to eat, and the food was good.
The wifi doesn't work in the rooms, so you have to go to the lobby or up to the restaurant to use the internet. The hotel's a bit of a walk from town too, but you can take motorbike taxis if you like.
decent inexpensive stay
Hotel nicely appointed and staff is extremely friendly
Staff was super nice, room was fine (it was cheap, and it was clean), but the club downstairs was SO loud that I couldn't sleep much. Also, it almost sounded like there was drag racing happening. It was odd. Anyway, I wanted to like it, but the sound situation was out of control. I had airpods in, but it didn't help.
The personell was great, helpfull
I love the style and the service was a great .
Only had breakfast ones
Everything was good
The staff is very friendly.
The hotel is in front of a Market, early in the morning there is a lot of noise .The hotel has a lot of stairs and no elevator. Its very difficult for older people or if you have luggage to carry up and down.
Convenient
Nothing
There was not breakfast. The location is good because it is in the center of the city.
The person at the check in is not friendly. The hotel is located in a place where the neighbors had very loud music and it could be heard inside the room, very annoying. We woke up at 7:00 am with the clarity of the sun because the curtains are very, very clear. The floor in the room was a bit sticky.
I didn't have breakfast I've left early
I could not sleep due to the large amount of sound from a disco club on the first level of the hotel.
staff very helpful!
I upgraded my room to a room with a jacuzzi tub but I was unable to use the jacuzzi because there was no hot water and the jacuzzi did not have a heater.
The hotel was ok, the staff was great. However, I made a reservation with Expedia for two double rooms and the hotel had only a reservation for one room. The hotel managed to set us up but was not what we had reserved.
the hotel is located right in the city across from the market, is very noisy and overwhelming because of traffic, we only stayed one night but we did not get any sleep because of the club on the first floor
Todo
Hotel is dated. No place to plug electronic devices
It was ok a normal county hotel
According to pictures se expect a Little more
The staff was very professional, very attentive to our needs, would definitely recommend it
Everyone is very professional and very friendly, I would recommend this hotel to everyone
Place was disgusting, staff was unprofessional and gave the dirtiest room in the hotel even though every other room was empty. No breakfast, no restaurant/bar..I do not recommend.
The place is very clean
Nice people, good food and service. The exercise room has old and broken down equipment. The swimming pool is nice
i paid for breakfast and the hotel did not serve breakfast
Is located in city center... the only negative is the noise in the morning
It is imposible to sleep after 5:30 due to the market in front the hotel. You can hear people talking, vehicules and music from 6:30 AM, every day.
Bad communication with the employees Lot of noses
The name Hotel El Rey (The King Hotel) is way too big for the quality/services of the establishment. At check in, toilet was not properly cleaned. In the evening had problems with the A/C in which took them 2 hours to get the correct remote control to make it work. Problem with their hot water specially when you want to use the shower. If you get a room in the main floor (lobby) specifically room number 1, be prepared for all the noise specially when people are coming up the stairs. Don't rely too much in getting Wifi from your room, unless you are in the lobby. By the second day I had enough and was transferred to a bigger room in the lower level in which there was no Wifi whatsoever.
Couldn't sleep, outside workers making noise about 5 a.m.
Hotel was nice, room was a bit small but comfortable.
Hotel, lobby, coffee all excellent Easy walking to downtown/ sites Very loud, very early outside
Great Colonial Zone Location in Parque Colon (Columbus Park) which is a great plaza where the oldest cathedral in the americas is located
They could do better. A lot of noise, bad taste for decoration.
We checked in and were given room with no working hot water or AC and the wifi didn't work either. After letting the front desk know a few times we were given another room and were told that the room they were moving us to was more expensive and the exception was being made as if we were the ones at fault that there amenities were not functioning, the room is definitely over priced not worth it.
Some how I got the inccorect room so I ended up paying the difference for a better room but still not what I had reserved a bit disappointed.
Was OK considering the neighborhood. What else ? You mean that you want me to write more in this box??? That's all.
at over $100/night, but there is no windows, just very tacky furnishing resembling a love hotel.
The room we had was clean. There were no bugs. There was hot water in the shower. It was relatively quiet. The platform bed was a little worn so it was very creaky. There is a TV and a refrigerator in the room. The air-conditioning was ice-cold. The only issue we had was when the guy at the front desk got us a car service, the car service guy overcharged us. Instead, go across the street to La Vega Car Service and pre-arrange a fair price for a trip before agreeing to the car service; we did that the second time and it worked out. But aside from that the stay was pleasant.
The hotel was a decent hotel...and from my understanding the best in the area. We booked a Senior Suite...and ran into all sorts of problems. First of all...I had to argue with the front desk...and get on the phone with Hotels.com...for about an hour before getting the room that I booked and paid for. They tried to give me a room about two grades below what was booked. It is not fun to check in and spend an hour hanging out in the hallway and arguing before you can get into your room. Once we did get into our room, it was a nice room, but nothing I would call a "suite". It was a very comfortable King bed, a huge bathtub (big enough for 4), a small table, and a couch all crammed into one small room. The other huge disappointment was a car service (called for us by the hotel) completely ripped us off. They offered us a ride to Santo Domingo for a price. Took our money and then piled their entire family in the car with us. It was worse than taking the bus. Then they did not even take us to our hotel in Santo Domingo as promised...so beware of cars recommended by the hotel. Other issues we had was the restaurant not being open every day. Got up for breakfast...and it was the cook's day off. There is quite a bit of street noise, and noise from a night club (I believe it is the hotel's, but I am not sure).
The staff was very helpful in telling us what to visit and where it was and also all about the hotel
Nice place to stay
The stay was ok other than the power going out and the air conditioner was not working had to use a fan with extension cords which I thought was not safe got my room changed the day before I was leaving last year I went and stood at this hotel and he service was great even the hotel manager was awesome and it was a lot cheaper than this year the staff other than three people that were very attentive were great but the rest sucked definitely ain't staying here again think they should remodel their staff crew starting from manager to the rest employee then This will be great hotel
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Rey for four nights, three of which included the weekend. The hotel is located in the down town area, which was convenient for us since our trip was business related. The room was nice and clean, and the staff friendly and competent. Apparently there is a night club on the ground floor of the hotel, with extremely loud music and karaoke filling the air from about 9:00 pm until after 3:00 am every night, including Sunday night. The noise was so loud that it kept us from being able to sleep until after 3:00 am. When we talked with the administration about this, they were friendly and understanding, but unable to do anything about it. They suggested we write to the owners of the hotel, which we did but got no reply. We asked for a discount, which we did not get. We liked the facilities, but will never return to this hotel nor can we recommend it to anybody. The noise was just too bad at night.
There is a nightclub with music till 3AM. The room was fine, the bathroom passable.
Nice and comfortable very accommodating.
We were not far from the carnaval but it's the only advantage we found. The room for 4 was skinny, the service at the restaurant was very long, le wifi very far and the night very noisy. And they took extracharge because we were more than 2 in a room for 4 ??? I hate this hôtel !!!
Went to go see a baseball game. Very close to hotel
The staff was pleasant, accommodating, always available and very welcoming. They were always interested in making sure I enjoyed a pleasant stay.
