All the staff worked hard to make our stay enjoyable.
food, welcome.
Colazione tradizionale veramente ottima. Continentale buona e varia
La biancheria da letto e il bagno.
The owners and staff are exellent seeing to you in a personal way, making you feel at home.
Nothing
Clean and comfortable good bar facilities and breakfast
Wi-fi was really bad and no 4g reception so cut off from the world 🤦 the hotel should really sort it out as you can get good wi-fi at Mc Donald’s so why not here?
Great breakfast, great host who was very accommodating and helpful with train schedules, comfortable beds. We also enjoyed dinner here with live music.
The bathroom fan and toilet were louder than I'm used to
Great breakfast ..Great choice..included in price which was good. Pleasant staff Great food in restaurant
The side entrance is being refurbished....looks awful and creates the wrong impression on arrival.. Room only had small window with minimal view
Zeer slechte wifi. Echt, zeer slecht.
The owners and staff were brilliant. The location is great, super easy to get into Conway and good access to the coast and the rest of Snowdonia. Dog friendly and free parking.
Very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the overall vibe of the place.
Nothing.
Gavin is a fabulous host. Room was lovely. Food very good. Would definitely stay there agein
Still some refurbishments to be done which might put people off when they arrive but these are extra things that need to be done as and when
The property is on the sea front and the views are spectacular. Easy to get into Llandudno and Conwy
Nothing it was a lovely place
Food, room overall ,friendly staff.
Some mould around one the bath corners
This is truly a dog owners paradise It’s so dog centric
Nothing. Food in restaurant amazing and fab breakfast
Very friendly and helpful staff
Nothing, all great
This was our favorite hotel of our entire trip. The staff was amazing. Our room was gorgeous. My dream is to come back.
Nothing. It was amazing.
Dinner was excellent. The food was really good, with generous portions and plenty of choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would definitely eat there again. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which really made a difference. The atmosphere in the pub was relaxed and friendly, and the customers were just as welcoming.

Lovely, cosy and welcoming place. Gavin and his team are great hosts - so friendly and helpful. Food lovely. Beautiful sea views and just a great atmosphere. Many thanks!
Amazing location. Great view of the Irish Sea. Family feel!!
Loved it all.
Friendly staff, comfortable room overlooking the sea!! Relaxed vibe in bar and restaurant. Cosy restaurant decor. Breakfast!
Needs some TLC in some areas. Exterior of building does not reflect the restaurant interior and food.
Room and bed were comfortable. The twin room had a lovely view of the ocean. The staff were friendly and the food good.
The staff went out of their way to help.
Camera spaziosa
Ristorante chiuso il lunedi
Lots of places TALK about being Dog Friendly but these guys really are! This was a last minute booking for us though we have driven past many times. I had already been struck on a couple of phone calls how pleasant and helpful the team were and this continued instantly on arrival. We are (rightly or wrongly) a couple that are happy when our girl (dog!) is relaxed and happy and she seemed to instantly be at home at The Gladstone. I immediately saw the lovely outside area which looks across to the bay and the sea ...yes, you can also see the A55 however we were surprised at how little road noise there was and how you just 'miss it' if you are looking at the sea anyway. There were dog blankets , dog treats and water available to help yourself to! Gavin showed us to our room which was a lovely touch! The room was clean, fresh and a great size with a huge window looking across to the bay. Plenty of room for our girl to wander round and lie down comfortably (and she isn't small 😁) The plus points: - Excellent views - Comfortable surroundings - Extremely dog friendly with dogs having access to all areas (dinner/ breakfast) - Gavin (one of the owners) has probably the best customer service skills that we have encountered for a very long time! He is a natural and just absolutely fantastic! Attention to detail, nothing is too much trouble, attentive, incredibly hard working, very knowledgeable about the area having grown up there! - Clean and comfortable - Outside the bedrooms are extra coffee sachets, tea, milk etc for you to help yourself! Great idea ! - Breakfast was fresh and delicious with a choice for hot food as well as cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc as well. - Good hearty dinner menu and very reasonably priced - Literally about a 6 minute walk to a big, quiet, dog friendly beach! - Great outside area with lovely views - Just a lovely, comfortable ambience - Excellent base to explore some key North Wales places ..Llandudno, Conwy etc!
As a dog owner ... honestly absolutely none!! It is very hard to find places that are genuinely accepting of dogs and don't just say they are! - There were people there who didn't have dogs as well so I could only say that IF you are someone who doesn't believe dogs should be in dining areas - this probably wouldn't be the place for you. But you have to trust that people would be responsible about only taking their dog to such a place if they were well behaved ...just as you like to think the same about children ....🤔😂
Clean, beautiful views from the lounge, exceptionally helpful owner and friendly welcome. Lovely stay. Highly recommended
Nothing
Great Welsh breakfast and good quality bar food. Superb views from the beer garden. Bus stops to Bangor or Conwy near by. Gavin the host is very welcoming, friendly & helpful
Absolutely beautiful property, spotless and comfortable , we had a fantastic view and the owner was absolutely lovely
Nothing to say here
Great place,in a lovely position.
Shower in the bathroom wasn't the best ...but ok.
We loved everything about the property, its quirky characteristics it excelled all of our expectations. Will definitely be visiting again 🥰
There was nothing we didn’t like about the property.
The stay was average. The staff were friendly enough. There was a good view of the sea and sunset from the window which our room had from the side of the hotel. There is a big bar and a dining room - a bit eclectic.
The room wasn't all that big, and the decor everywhere is a bit tired. My pint on arrival was not the best. I think breakfast was fine.
Alles bestens, netter Gastgeber, gemütliches Restaurant/Pub
Great location and staff friendly and helpful
Lovely view from our room, good light from a large window overlooking the sea. Bathroom was large. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Mattress needs replacing, you can feel the springs
Both my wife and I were extremely pleased with the quality of food and service in this establishment, Gavin and his staff are very attentive without being intrusive. A fab dining experience
Staff were so friendly and the owner was amazing, he couldn't do enough for us and as vegans went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. Our evening meal was great, also our cooked breakfast. Nice tea/coffee tray and complimentary toiletries. Outside area looked out over the sea and we had great live music on the Saturday night. Very close to the lovely Conwy. We will be back 🙂
Nothing
We went for “Steak Night” on a Tuesday and it was really well cooked, well served and my wife (who is fussy about onion rings) said they were “the best onion rings she’s had in ages”. Portion size is good and the staff are friendly. My only (tiny) moan is that the decor is a bit tired, as is the garden fence and pub sign which is missing a couple of letters, but don’t let that put you off eating here.
great location
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was cozy. The breakfast was really nice, we loved the fresh brewed coffee. Great location as well!
My sister and I especially enjoyed dinner and breakfast in the dining room. The food was delicious, the staff helpful and friendly and the decor comfortable and pleasant.
Great good and breakfast Staff great
Made to feel welcome. Clean, convenient, comfortable.
Staff welcoming and friendly. Room clean and comfortable.
Nothing
The staff were lovely and the breakfast was great. Fantastic view of the shore, loud and happy sheep in the back, lots of fun!
The Wi-Fi kept kicking us out which was a tad annoying
The staff were excellent, room was clean and spacious with a sea view. Lovely 😍
Some of the decor was tired downstairs. Beer garden fence was a bit spooky along with the decking but they haven't been there long and are doing a great job.
Amazing breakfast staff so friendly top place
Nothing
The hotel is perfect for pet owners. It's in a good location. The toiletries with ginseng are lovely and breakfast was included in the overall price. The owners were pleasant
Bathroom needs a bit of tlc with mould/mildew on the ceiling. Radiator has rust and bath panel is flaking as well. Our bin was stained at the front too. As mentioned above, the toiletries were lovely. Wouldn't cost too much to give the bathroom a lick of paint. Would really brighten it up.
We booked The Gladstone purely because it is dog and budget friendly and location - but we were SO impressed with the welcome, the room, decor throughout, cleanliness and amazing view across to Anglesey and Puffin Island. The major road and railway between the pub and the sea are far enough away not to spoil the view or create much noise. Ample parking, seafront is about a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive. Obviously it's a pub, you expect some noise, and while it wasn't really disturbing you could hear the loudest sounds from the bar (in our room at the front at least) so guessing an early night on live music nights might be difficult ( depending on where the band is ) but otherwise it was pretty peaceful. We and especially our little dog were made to feel very welcome and felt very much at home in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We had a lovely nights sleep, a big, beautifully decorated room with a large, modern en suite and a decent breakfast where they went out of their way to accommodate a food intolerance. Would love to stay again
not much!
Great food. Fantastic staff , friendly and welcoming, highly recommend for people with dogs .
Staff helpful. Room good and clean. It's the little things as well. Husband forgot to take his tablets, so while I went to get them staff member got him a glass of water. This was when having the lovely breakfast.
Nothing
Staff and food were exceptional. Gavin was the star of the show.
Room could do with a tidy up, wires hanging out of the tv, tape on the window frames, not the end of the world but for the price, and considering this was the best Room in the property, it wouldn't take much to make it exceptional.
Amazing food, staff are fantastic, always friendly . Highly recommend dog friendly pub.
Myself and my husband spent 2 lovely nights at the Gladstone. We stayed there in order to visit the local area and the nearby towns of Penmanmaewr, Conway and Llandudno. Penmanmaewr is within walking distance. Conway and Llandudno are a short driving distance away. The Gladstone is a beautifully decorated pub with rooms. We were upgraded during our stay to a seaview room with a 4 poster bed. The amenities were excellent, with an ensuite bathroom with a bath and shower. There were complementary toiletries in the bathroom and tea, coffee and hot chocolate etc in the room. There were also brochures with ideas for places to visit. The staff were amazing, so friendly and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts are amazing. We ate our evening meal there on both nights and the food was excellent. We will definitely stsy again and would recommend the Gladstone.
Traditional old school pub/guest house with clean and comfortable rooms. The bar had a great selection of real ales and drinks. Front of house was very friendly and welcoming. Making you feel like family. Food was home cooked, not the normal pub chain food. The breakfast included in the price was excellent too. We Will be booking again and will include an extra guest our Dog as it is very dog friendly. 5 🌟 to Gavin and his team.
food excellent and very helpfull and friendly staff
Dogs in the dining room
Excellent Breakfast - really good bacon - all portions good size (I could not even bring myself to order the BIG Breakfast as would have been too much!) Very good service. There was nothing to criticise - Well Done!! Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Great for three nights we stayed - probably not somewhere we would choose for double this stay or longer unless just sleeping there was all that was required - then fine. Dinner taken on two nights - both good - adequate Menu - good portions and value for money. No complaints at all. All Staff were friendly and welcoming. So nice to see 'Service with a Smile' and happy Bar Staff. Thank You All
There really is nothing to criticise. Parking was always available at different times - no issues, but if travelling far or arriving late may be best to check they know you are coming just in case it is particularly busy. As the only place serving food for some distance in either direction I guess it could get very busy although we had no problem at all at end of May half-term.
The host was brilliant and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Good value for food.
Dog friendly
The exceptionally welcoming staff who were polite and courteous at all times going out out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Our bed was very comfortable. Teas, coffees and milks were available to help yourself if needed. There was a beautiful view from our bedroom and as we were able to open the windows so it was nice and cool on a warm evening also thanks to the fan provided. We would not hesitate to stay again due to the hospitality provided and the fact that it is an extremely dog friendly establishment. The food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal and the delicious breakfast the next morning.
Unfortunately the shower temperature very difficult to control. It seemed to be due to a lack if pressure when the demand was high. The water taps ran at a trickle in the evening however the pressure was great the next morning. Both of us were stilll able to shower so not a massive problem.
The breakfast was very good
We were 6 guys arriving after a long day on our motorbikes and didn’t even get a table for dinner. We should have made table reservations we were told. But we never got a message to do so prior to our arrival. The beds are too small if you’re 6 feet tall.
Staff friendliness
Frühstück und Abendessen sehr gut. Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Great location, comfortable room, good food and great value for money. Friendly management and staff.
Not much really, can't complain.
Comfortable bed, room well equipped.
Restaurant meal was OK but nothing special.
Wonderful small inn and restaurant in a great location for touring Northern Wales. Gavin was a wonderful host, and our room was excellent.
It was quiet when I visited. I had a free upgrade to a room with a 4 poster bed. Breakfast was hot and nicely presented and the host was friendly and informative
Nothing
Everyone was so welcoming
Bed could of been a bit bigger
Average pub grub at above-average prices. The soup arrived lukewarm and less than half a bowl. Chips very good, fish was sadly limp. Garlic mushrooms should be re-titled as mushroom - a single thinly-sliced mushroom swimming in a cream sauce, not very garlicky! Beer selection is very good. Pleasant dining room with high ceiling.
Very lovely I really enjoyed my stay at the Gladstone thank you Gavin Steve Lily and Victoria and all the staff for making me feel welcomed 😊
Grate location I highly recommend the Gladstone
Great food, location and lovely, friendly and helpful staff.
Room slightly small for 2 labs but we did choose economy room.
Staff and host were excellent, nothing was to much trouble. Enjoyed our stay, we will be back .
Can't think of anything.
Location is good for travelling around
Breakfast was good, large portions and well presented. Staff were very approachable and helpful for all aspects of our stay as well as local history and information. Evening meals are available if you wish and all your requirements can be met from a drink with friends all the way to fine dining.
There was some noise from the pub even though we were at the back, and front rooms will look over the bay where the A55 runs very close as well as the railway from Chester to Holyhead.
Awesome personal. Nice sea view Dogs stay free and can go everywere
Great view, great meal. Convenient to have a restaurant and pub where you stay.
The host Gavin was very welcoming, the bar staff are friendly as well. Good little pub.
Location, Breakfast, lovely room.
No food served on a Monday
Everything... the staff was so lovely helpful kind couldn't do enough for u always with a smile .. the hotel was lovely and immaculate y clean and spotless .the cleaning lady worked so hard too and always with a smile they all was so friendly ...the food was really good too the breakfast was amazing also .. great location will definitely be going back ..the rooms was also lovely ... There was nothing we didn't like no problems or complaints at all
Lovely room and lovely staff Nice Breakfast Great location for beach 🏖️ Dog friendly 🐕
Nothing
Gavin was so helpful,he knew a lot about the local area & Welsh facts and of places to see & visit. Breakfast and evening dinner was lovely with a very quick service..very well pleased😁
Great place to stay, food was excellent, our host made sure our stay was perfect, excellent.
Nothing
It had lots of character. Handy for public transport . I thought the staff were very welcoming and exceptionally helpful.
I liked everything about the property but didn’t find any shop in walking distance. Plenty in the villages . The doors were generally locked at 11pm
Good food.
Some road noise
The dinning room area with all the lovely art work and walls painted with a dark green colour. Food was great, fabulous breakfast. The Manager was the best, fantastic personality.
Nothing much. Some parts of the property could have some updating.
The Gladstone was in a lovely spot with views of the beach! With a drive to Conwy just 10 minutes away. Our room was really cosy and spotless. Although the bar is just downstairs, we didn't hear a thing. Staff are lovely & so welcoming. The Welsh breakfast was perfect. Would highly recommend this place. 5 stars all round! Dave Worrall, Liverpool
If I did have to say something I didn't like is my wife uses a walking aid so found it hard getting up & down the stairs! Can't be helped!
spacious room, comfy bed, overall a nice place to stop over
broken toilet brush .
Brilliant food has always.
Food was 1st class couldn't fault anything. Staff were friendly & attentive especially Gavin. Great views across to Anglesey
Feel the room could do with a re-vamp, wallpaper and little scruffy light fitting very dusty just a bit of attention to detail. Bed was ok but a better mattress would of been good
Had the best Sunday roast I ever had here along with the best service. Will be back. Peter Rose
Great staff, lovely food (especially the breakfast), clean and comfortable room. Extremely dog friendly
Nothing. Stayed a few times and will stay again
Friendly welcome by Gavin. Helped carry bag up to room. Dog friendly. Nice decor, clean, comfortable, quiet. Food was great !
Very friendly and accommodating
Absolutely fabulous lodging in a beautiful setting. Super comfortable rooms, well maintained and individually appointed. Gavin and his staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. From the snug fires in the dining room and den to the delicious breakfasts and close proximity to all North Wales has to offer, this was the perfect place to stay for a mid-Winter holiday.
Lovely stay. The hotel is beautiful. We had a gorgeous room with an amazing sea view. The little extra touches were exceptional, including the best shortbread ever! Plus little things available you might have forgotten such as sewing kit, toothpaste etc. Fab range of teas & coffee available. Nice big comfy bed. And a superb breakfast included. Gavin & the team looked after us so well. Thank you, we'll be back
Great view, great staff, lovely room.
Mattress and pillows were a little too firm for real comfort.
Very homely and warm with log fires burning. Gavin the proprietor is great, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The room was warm and beds were soft and comfortable.
Nothing to say, would definitely stay there again.
