very helpfull and polite staff . Room was very clean and comfortable. we had a fantastic evening meal with lots of choice and the breakfast was superb. Will definitely stay here again .

Had a family room, was immaculately clean, but the king dize bed was very hard, would have been better with a mattress topper.

The heat - might be a good idea to put an extra fan in the room we had when heat wave is in full swing as one just wasn't enough. We only stayed one night so didn't request anything, just made do.

The alcohol gels in the communal areas and the pre filled pot of shampoo were cloudy, like they hadnt been used in a while. Some parts of the room a bit dated and pillows not comfortable for us (personal choice).

Very good value for money. We stayed for an overnight whilst travelling. Room was great, restaurant was great, breakfast was exceptional. Highly recommend.

Accommodation and food was good with an adequate selection at breakfast. We took our evening meals there, which we enjoyed, but the lack of an alternative was a disappointment.

The location was a disappointment as the village lacked character and the amenities were poor. The outside was basic and there was nowhere comfortable to sit outside.

Great staff, large clean and well-equipped family room, excellent breakfast, and a nice pub and restaurant. Great location for exploring the surrounding area.

Very clean and spacious room for the two of us. There were no stairs to climb and being away from the main building it was very quiet. The bed was very good and we were able to turn the heating up or down to suit. Clean towels/shower gel and shampoo supplied and also a very small bar of soap for hands, but I preferred to use the shower gel. Shower was powerful and quite easy to adjust the heat but the shower head was fixed and high up. A cosy chair and cushion and another padded chair at the desk was an added bonus. Fabulous breakfasts to choose from and although we didn't eat dinner there it was highly recommended by locals, though not cheap, even so the food is great and great friendly staff.

The beds were u comfortable, the staff bar one gentleman were horrific and have no idea what customer service is. The ‘guests’ had zero respect for anyone and a lot of locals were staying who had no manners and my dog acts better than them, which made the evening hard to bear.

Wonderful place, nice and clean hotel with the great restaurant and wide selection of meals and drinks. Very good starting point to explore the Lake District. Nice and renovated rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast.

Lovely clean spacious room. Staff lovely too. Food was incredible. Easy to check in and out. Smooth flow all round.

Mattress was a little uncomfortable, and no lock on the inside of the door. Which is fine as no-one can get in from the outside, but not wise in a family room with toddlers or young children who can open doors and escape while adults are asleep through the night.

Breakfast and dinner was great. Service was great. Bed was comfortable.

Floors were uneven in bathroom and bedroom. Limited tea, coffee and milk, 1 hot chocolate sachet when there's two of you.we stayed two days so only enough for one day. We put service sticker on door so no problem really,it would of just saved them time coming in again that's all.

We had a twin room, one bed had a channel in the middle of it, it felt like the mattress was trying to swallow you and the other bed was like sleeping on a slab of concrete,breakfast was poor, cereal and milk, the toaster was burning the bread.

The food was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Hotel was welcoming, very clean and staff were friendly. Food here was amazing, cooked to order from quality local produce. Would visit again without hesitation

The family room was great as they had the perfect number of beds for my wife and I and our 3 younger children. We had to rent a separate room for our 13 year old, but it was reasonably priced. The breakfast was very good and well presented, but the staff member serving the food had a shirt about 3 sizes too small and it was not very appetising to see his belly hanging out between his trousers and shirt.

The rooms are great . The dinner great choice on the menu and well worth the money. Breakfast again cooked fresh and great value. Everybody is so friendly and there is a great buzz about the place.

Both the evening meals and the Cumbrian breakfast were huge (almost too big) and the food itself was fantastic and really tasty. Clean room and bathroom.

Bathroom was a bit on the small side, but was functional.
