Good firm mattress. Excellent shower. Good blinds on window. Authentic 15th century features (beams etc.). Complimentary gin in room and whisky in guest lounge. Excellent quality and quantity of breakfast and other meals. Bar and restaurant service was very good, good selection of wines, beers and spirits.

Noisy macerator attached to toilet, kept making a noise overnight. Appalling pillows, far too soft. Unpleasant looking stain on carpet. Standard of decor was poor e.g. blobs of mastic evident in bathroom. Extractor fan did not work. No wardrobe, just 4 coat hangers on hooks. But the most disappointing part of the stay was the dust. When I moved the bedside lamp a shower of dust fell from the shade. Area behind bed had not been dusted for years (I was trying to find a power socket). Water glasses in room were dusty. Plants in restaurant were dusty. In the first floor guest lounge dust was everywhere and one of the seats was propped up on a pile of books. Wifi was available but wouldn't work on our phones. We were not asked how our stay had been when we checked out - this was disappointing. There would have been little point raising our concerns while we were there as I believe all 9 rooms were occupied (bank holiday weekend).

The room was absolutely lovely and very comfortable. I loved the bath!! Nicely decorated and clean. It is in a nice quiet village location. Staff member that helped us was so kind. She allowed us to come in late after a wedding as we had not check ed in earlier in the day.

Quite expensive. Not easy to get a taxi from this location.

Mr. Tony checked us in. He was extremely helpful and settled us in very comfortably. He was quick to suggest fine points about the area and places to visit.

Excellent food for an evening meal and a delicious breakfast. The room was very comfortable. A lot of extra little touches and attention to detail which make it feel like home from home. The extra bonus is the residents' lounge area for quiet reflection and a tipple! This is a lovely pub with rooms and the staff are exceptionally friendly.

It’s very convenient for me to be in the village. My family joined me for breakfast and we used the bar and garden several times. Lovely bathroom and shower. Loved the drawing room and complementary whiskey.

Poor lighting in the bedroom, wall lights didn’t turn off from the bed. No overhead light. No sockets at the bed side.

古い建物だかメインテナンスは良くしてある。しかし、一番大きな部屋を予約したが、バスタブの排水が悪く、部屋を交換してもらった。とても親切に対応して頂いた。レストランは素晴らしく美味しく、地域の常連客も多くアットホームな雰囲気だった。

The door was locked and nobody answered the phone so I couldn’t get in to the hotel

It’s very comfortable and quiet. There are lots of historic photos of Highclere. Rooms are individually designed. The design is well thought out with twists. We really liked our wood carved and hand painted fish door stop on the bathroom door

There were areas of the hotel that needed cleaning from the day before. Downstairs loo and small dining area

Very clean, great quality bedding and a fabulous touch with the sloe gin. Food excellent , staff efficient and friendly. All in all nothing but praise for this stay.

We had a fabulous stay at Bel & The Dragon Kingsclere and would happily return. Our room was absolutely adorable, beautifully decorated and full of thoughtful touches that made it feel extra special from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights was the guest lounge, which was such a lovely addition to the stay. The complimentary tipple was a wonderful touch and made the experience feel even more welcoming and relaxed. The staff were fantastic throughout our visit, friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and their warm hospitality really enhanced our stay. Overall, a charming country inn with beautiful rooms, excellent service, and thoughtful extras that make all the difference. Highly recommended.

Wir waren zwei Nächte dort und es war perfekt für unsere Aktivitäten. Super Frühstück, komfortable Zimmer, nettes Personal. Gemütliches Pub und man kann draußen sitzen um kleinen Biergarten. Unbedingt empfehlenswert!

It was perfect for our group, lovely rooms and very clean. Nice touches like a complimentary drink and coffee maker in the rooms. Everything was decorated to a good standard and the food was amazing.

Excellent Hotel chain. Great attention to detail. Very helpful staff. Great menu and food was exceptional. No QR code ordering which seems prolific and results in lower standards. This is my third stay at Bel and the Dragon and wouldn’t hesitate to return. Keep up the great work

All very good really, staff were all very pleasant and welcoming from arrival through to departure. The room was not huge but had character and was very comfortable, very large bed. Bathroom good size, hot tap needs a new washer though. Shower was very good. Breakfast excellent especially the bacon. Evening meal was good.

Spacious room, superb dining and phenomenal friendly staff

Lovely, characterful inn. The rooms aren't huge but the facilities and little touches are excellent. We only stayed one night for a nearby family event but it's the kind of place we wished we were staying longer to make more use of the facilities such as the lovely beer garden, shared drawing room with games and drinks and the breakfast was fantastic with great service and lots of unusual choices alongside a classic full English. Hope to stay again if we have the opportunity.

I booked this room for 1 night after visiting highclere castle. This turned out to be a great decision. What we found was a cosy and friendly country pub with great rooms and amenities. From the check in to check out the staff were all friendly and efficient and actually seemed to be enjoying their work. The room itself was amazing. The furnishing were all very cute and of quality. The added touches like the bottled water and the complimentary sloe gin were very nice. Add to that a lovely little drawing room with sofas , complimentary whiskey and books and magazines was a great touch. We had an afternoon tea so come to our evening meal we went for several small plates. All of which were amazing. Breakfast again was really good. Eggs Benedict was my option while my wife had the full English. Both excellent. I don’t normally write reviews and I stay away a lot. But this place deserved a mention for the excellent touches and service it provides. Thank you.

This stay was the nearest we have had to perfect and we have stayed at a lot of places , the food was amazing , the room spotless and clean , the snug area was lovely we just spent the evening chilling in there , the staff were super friendly

The room was spotless and had everything that you could need in terms of towels and toiletries, tea and coffee, water, even sloe gin to try! There was a residents only lounge with complementary whisky and board games/books/magazines. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant which had a very varied menu, not the usual pub grub.

There were very few plug points and no USB points to charge phones/ipads.

We stayed overnight here after a day at Highclere Castle. Just 10 minutes away by car from highclere .. What a fabulous place .. staff really friendly Food was brilliant evening meal and breakfast menus very tasty. Served hot and no long waits Cocktails very good value Also whiskey and sloe gin free in your room. Cozy little upstairs lounge with board games and cards if wanted again free whiskey tipple if wanted (lovely touch) Room was warm and comfortable fabulous toiletries.. modern en suite and spotlessly clean. Shower was very good. Tv and a radio, hairdryer good quality one too. Definately 10/10 for everything hope to stay here again

We were impressed by the warm welcome and the service overall - arrival, dinner, breakfast. The rooms are on the small side but comfortable and quite well equipped. The food was good (especially the Snacks menu at dinner) and fresh. The wine list was especially ambitious and fairly priced
