Kootenay Lakeview Resort BW Signature Collection

This hotel has beautiful views from every room, but the views from the hot tub enclosure surpassed all. Truly breathtaking. Beds are very comfortable and the Keurig coffee maker in the room was very welcome. The management has made a real effort to make the guest lounge (also complete with a beautiful view) truly comfortable and welcoming, with tub leather chairs, games and tea and coffee always available.

The breakfast is consists mostly of processed, high-carb foods. It would be well worthwhile for the management to hard-boil a couple of dozen eggs each morning and put out a bowl of cherry tomatoes or sliced cucumbers, so as to provide a more nutritious option as well.

The staff met us at the door and welcomed us warmly. The facilities are top notch and the setting of the hotel is exquisite. Right on the golf course. The entire property was beautifully groomed. We will definitely stay there again.

Very clean, friendly staff, very private

The lobby was located in another building, which makes it very difficult and challenging to ask some help at night time. It would be great if there are drinking water or hot water available after dusk or overnight.

Jesse was awesome. Very polite and welcoming. The resort area was very well maintained, trimmed and look very appealing from the outside.

Dated, the property is older and could use a few upgrades and to make more modern and comfortable, alittle bit pricey, compared to some other properties. If you are scared for spiders this may be an issue. The balconies were full of them..

We stayed for two nights and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel's biggest strengths are its location and the scenery. It's perfectly situated close to the main attractions while still being away from the busiest tourist areas, making it a peaceful place to stay. The mountain and lake surroundings are beautiful. The room was clean, and the furniture was comfortable and had everything you'd normally expect from a hotel. We booked a Queen Room with two queen beds and a lake view. Although our room was in the basement, it was still comfortable. We also really enjoyed the hot tub. Around 6 pm on both evenings it wasn't busy, so we had a chance to relax and enjoy it. Would we stay here again? Probably yes. The location, cleanliness, and overall comfort made for an enjoyable stay.

Considering the price we paid (over CAD $375 per night including taxes and fees), I expected more. I wouldn't describe this as a true 4-star hotel. It lacks many of the amenities you'd normally expect at that level, such as upscale décor, bathrobes, premium toiletries, an in-room safe, and an on-site restaurant. The toiletries provided were quite basic, and we were glad we had brought our own. Fortunately, there are several good restaurants nearby. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast service. Breakfast was advertised until 10:30 am, but on one morning the buffet was almost completely cleared away by around 9:50 am, leaving guests who arrived later to ask staff for food. The following morning, several items weren't being restocked unless someone requested them. It didn't feel very welcoming and is definitely an area that needs improvement. The staff were a mixed experience. Some were friendly and helpful, while others seemed tired or not particularly interested in assisting guests. There was no daily housekeeping during our stay, which wasn't an issue for us, but guests expecting daily room service should be aware of this. Ironically, on the morning of checkout, housekeeping entered our room about 1 to 1.5 hours before the official checkout time. They apologized and left immediately, but it would have been better if they had knocked first and given us time to respond before entering. Overall, I think the hotel is overpriced for what it offers. I understand that mountain destinations tend to be more expensive, but I think it's important to set realistic expectations. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable place in an excellent location rather than a true 4-star experience, you'll likely still enjoy your stay.

We stayed 3 nights but our room was never cleaned nor the towels changed the complete time of our stay. I would have expected room cleaning at least once and we did put out the room cleaning sign on our door each day but we did not get service

No place to hang your towel by the shower. No place to put your toiletries. And nothing to blow your nose with except toilet paper that is a very stupid location. Behind your back when on the throne.

It was a beautiful location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean but could hear everything the people up above us were doing. I would recommend being on the top floor.

There was really nothing we liked. Arrived within 15 minutes of our stated arrival and were not told in advance that there was no restaurant, consequently we had to go searching for food and most of the area food establishments were closed. The best part of the stay was Jesse at the front desk was very, very good

The room was advertised as lake view. We were on the bottom floor and could only see the lake through a slight opening between buildings. The door had light coming through it during the night and the window coverings were definitely not room darkening and light shone through as soon as daylight started. The air conditioner was so loud we had to decide whether to have it on or off throughout the night. We went back and forth, consequently had VERY LITTLE sleep. Couldn't sit on our deck because there were 2 bags of dog poop sitting on the deck from the previous occupants.

Excellent barbeque

Pleasant stay between Nelson and Kaslo. The hotel offers lake views on the opposite side of the lake but elevated for viewing. Nice balcony areas. Hotel is more rustic and quiet but clean rooms, free continental breakfast. More of a lodge than a resort. Golf course associated with it that has a small but tasty restaurant with more elevated options than expected.

Pet Friendly. Access to outside lawn right off of the patio. Staff recommended a restaurant at the Golf Course nearby that was great.

Tremendous lake views from every room. We enjoyed watching the sun rise over the mountains as well. Room was spacious, clean and bed was excellent.

Beautiful view of Lake Kootenay. Loved watching the ferry run back and forth across Lake Kootenay. The Ferry is Free, walk on and ride back for a free one hour Lake Kootenay Cruse.

Jesse was working the day of our arrival. He called to let me know the storm had taken out the power. Told us not to rush. When we arrived the power was still out but we had backup fobs to get into the room. It was clean and well laid out. Power came back on and all was great. Beautiful property. I would say Jesse went above regular customer service to make sure we were okay and happy.

It was amazing from check in to check out! The spacious green grounds are well kept and the room was perfect. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was amazing! The staff were friendly and personable. A beautiful mountain retreat! Thank you Joya!

Our stay was absolutely fantastic! The stunning views of the lake and surrounding nature were breathtaking. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented by the excellent housekeeping team. Special shout-outs to Jesse and Anouk for their incredible hospitality – they truly made our visit special. We loved having access to the BBQ and jacuzzi for ultimate relaxation. It was a peaceful and amazing getaway!

This was a last minute decision to stop here we looked on line and found this gem and it was such a beautiful place the view was amazing! Clean rooms and beds comfy Would stay here again

We loved staying here - it has a beautiful view of the lake and the room was lovely, very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were nice too.

Our only complaint is the breakfast is served on very flimsy paper plates and paper cups which we're finding seems to happen regularly in Canada. This is new to us as we're from New Zealand and we never do this there. It astounds us as it's all going into landfill. Surely it's not that hard to wash a few nice breakfast plates and cups and save the environment from more landfill? This is more an observation though, rather than a complaint. The hotel is lovely.
