Good value and nice staff

The staff were amazing. So helpful and friendly.

No elevator, stairs only to rooms.

Convenient location, on highway. The pub food was good and pub staff were great.

No big problem. The yard on the side is a bit trashy, not something you want to look out on. The curtain rod holder in the bedroom was broken and the curtain hung at an angle. The room was fine otherwise. But if something is obviously broken, it would look a lot better if it were fixed.

Very rundown

Staff and Nanager were amazing and so accommodating when we checked in, had not even been in our room and we got a call about a family emergency and had to check out right away and they gave us a full refund!

The hotel is very dated and needs updating. However, for the price you’re paying and you’re just stopping for the night as you’re traveling is OK.

The food and service were great, room was comfortable and clean.

We couldnt watch much on the tv but we were tired anyways

The bed was comfy.

The lamp didn’t work, the TV didn’t work, the pillows were very thick, shower rod was moldy. The soap was moldy. The pictures looked like it was nice, but it was very old. We didn’t get any check-in pamphlet or Wi-Fi access or anything.

Breakfast was hearty. Bit of a commute to Wells-Gray Park every day. Mattress was great!

Silverfish in bathroom. Couldn't keep luggage on the floor in case I took them home.

The fact that someone carried my baggage from my vehicle to my room

TV was not working to my standards. Could not change channels and there was no instructions found to make changes.

Not much in Barrier so it was nice to have some he restaurant and bar as part of the hotel

I was hoping that Guests were given free breakfast. Ordered the Waffle with blueberries for myself. Waffle was cold.

The Air conditioner was blowing cool air but it didn't cool the room adequately No garbage bin in room, only a recycle bin

Bright clean hallways, despite being near the highway and having a restaurant and bar, it was very quiet. We slept well, and were several times approached by staff asking if there was anything they could do for us.

The building is old, this is not a luxury resort, but it was a much better experience than I anticipated when I first saw it. I'd certainly recommend it and the staff if you are looking for something affordable.

It was very good value for Budget accommodation

Staff were friendly, rooms were clean, and it wasn’t noisy. A little sound travel from nearby rooms but a decent room at a good price. Plus it was toasty out and the AC was up to the task which was nice. Plus the restaurant downstairs is awesome, large portions and really good food.

Oddly from the end of my bed to the dresser with the mini fridge was about 12 inches, so you could get to the other side of the room towards the window but it was just oddly narrow. But it wasn’t like that in the other room we booked. Mattress was softer than I usually like but everyone else found it to be about right.

The cleaning staff were kind and helpful

Checking in was ridiculous. A long wait at the front desk then unable to find my reservation because they had not checked the reservations from booking.com since the previous day. Charged 30$ extra for a pet when the signage said 25$, which was posted on the bulletin board at the top of the stairs. No available plugs in the room to charge devices. No coffee facilities in the room. I was not informed that weak coffee was available in the restaurant for free between the hours of 9 am and restaurant closing. The cleaning staff enquired and kindly dropped off 2 cups of coffee which was undrinkable. The room was very small and walls were paper thin. The room got very hot overnight and we had to put the noisy window aircon on. We left before the restaurant opened so no coffee for us.

There was a large gap around the entire door where we could see light from the hallway. Flimsy lock which was just a push lock from the inside. Air conditioner was super loud and if you shut it off, just became too hot in the room. Only 2 power outlets in the room, one for the tv/fridge/microwave and tv box. Other outlet was for the air conditioner and lamp. Good thig I brought a power bar so we could plug in our phones and other chargers. No hangers in the closet. Only about 10 tv channels that we could get, mostly news, sports and 3 french channels. Only 2 channels available with a show to watch. Remote didn't work for the tv power or volume, so if you wanted to change the volume or turn the tv off, you had to climb out of bed. No glass in the washroom and two flat pillows, we had to borrow a couple from our daughter to be comfy. Room was clean at least. Oh, I forgot, wifi didn't work

We informed before and reached at night. It takes a while and little long waiting for the staff attained us to handover the room key

Smelled like strong toilet cleaner, silverfish in the bed, everything very worn. Could hear any hallway noises, curtains didn't really cover the window and there was always light coming through at night.

A lack of an elevator was a concern. The doors were hollow core, and the locks were not commercial grade, resulting in security concerns. The room was clean, and staff were courteous and professional.

Lack of letting me know ahead of time that they were closed due to a scheduled power outage. Like I indicated, was a scheduled power outage, so they could have been in contact so I could have taken a different route or made different booking. Very poor communication.

there was a power outrage and I was unable to charge my electronics. Also the old AC unit was off for the same reason therefore I did not got myself to rest as I should. There was no staff on my check out to complain. I am requesting a full refund!!

Small things - like no coffee cups in the room. Only one shampoo package when it's known ahead of time that there will be two people in the room.

Loud at night. Housekeeping never attended to my room any of the 3 days/4 nights. Bed was never made.

Had supper in restaurant, was good and staff very good and friendly. older faculty. beds cleans and comfortable. needs lots of TLC, repairs holes in wall, remove old cabinets, light bulb in bath and better cleaning. no face cloths - had to ask, no chairs in room. there was room for small table and a couple of chairs. no mini fridge. bed side lamp old and dirty - need to replace both lamps. could use towel rack by sink (in separate area from tub). suggest they consider installing safety grab bars at the edge of ALL bathtubs. Probably won't stay there again - will drive to nearby community

The TV does not work. Handle for the refridgerator was broken off. Microwave was not plugged in. To make it work, one would have to unplug the refrigerator to secure a power outlet. You get what you paid for, I suppose.

This is a budget hotel, BUT,, the staff is awesome and it has a restaurant and bar attached with good pricing and quality food. Room doors are old style key lock and rooms are nostalgic, but it is clean and surprisingly quiet. Would stay again.

On the app my price was supposed to be $98 a night and when I got there I was charged $114 per night. They said because I booked online

This might be the dirtiest, most decrepit place we have ever stayed. The ceiling is cracked & falling in, the beds are ancient, covered in hair, etc. I have never seen a carpet as stained and gross as this place. The bathroom was better than the living space but still awful. Both kids cried because it was so awful and scary that they thought we would be kidnapped in the night. Tge entire place also smells strongly of weed. The staff were friendly and nice though. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We went to every other hotel there but everywhere was full so had to sleep one night in this awful dump.

My car breakdown and called the property they said your booking is through Expedia so we will not charge you anything and Expedia helpline also said we will not charge you but after 2 days they charge me and upon asking they said we did not said and when asked to talk to manager they said we have given your number to manager but even after a week he didn't call me l. Other hotels even returned the advance payment if something happens due to unforseen circumstances but these property is really disappointing and highly not recommended

Stay was good and peaceful. Staff is friendly. Food was good. wifi could have been better.

It has a separate bedroom in the back which was good because it was quite and had dark shades do room was dark.

It was not very clean. But bedding was clean so appreciated that.

This is not a place I would stay again. It’s old and in a pretty bad shape. The cafe was awful too. The girl who checked me in and served our supper was lovely though.

I will say the property is old and my room had wall damage, plumbing was iffy and my tv wasn't working; however the staff was very friendly and very quick to resolve the tv problem. If you are just there to sleep, the beds are comfortable, and the price is decent.

The room was clean but very dated and small. They should probably knock the building down and start from scratch. But for 100 a night we were not surprised.

The motel is located in a small town. Rooms are small and old. I found hairs and black spots in the matress so I am not sure if they replaced the sheets for new customers. The place is very quiet with many parking places.

We stayed one night at the Barriere Motor Inn, and while the staff were incredibly friendly and responsive to our needs, the condition of the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. It’s clear that the employees are doing their best with what they have — the room was tidy, and you could tell housekeeping put effort into keeping things presentable. Unfortunately, the overall state of the building shows a serious lack of investment and upkeep from ownership. The walls in our room were noticeably dirty and in need of fresh paint. The carpets in the common areas looked very worn, and the bathroom tiles and baseboards could really use a deep cleaning and some attention. This hotel has potential, but it’s obvious that the owners have not been reinvesting into the property. It feels like money is being taken in without much going back into maintaining or improving the place. First impressions matter, especially for travelers passing through — and right now, that first impression isn’t a good one. None of this is the fault of the working staff — they’re doing the best they can under difficult circumstances. With proper care and investment, this could be a much more welcoming and comfortable stop for guests.

Dirty, shabby in need of some major cleaning and repair. Very short staffed. The staff were still very pleasant and did what they could to help. Housekeeping was not a highlight. Carpets in the rooms were filthy. Walls so in need of a wash and paint. Shower curtains filthy. Rooms are very small. Would not stay here EVER again.

Reception was great, she could have a job with me anytime. Food from restaurant was terrible, specially the seafood linguine. The room was not well lit. While taking a shower the water temperature changed several times I got scorched when it changed to hot. No counter space in the bathroom.

The rooms are old and very basic, but it was clean and the bed was comfy. Served our purpose for the night. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. There is a restaurant and separate lounge within and the food was good.
