Brilliant location and very comfortable room, great for a relaxing weekend. Near wonderful facilities.....farm shop, cafe and gastro pub!
Old cottage building but had all the modern facilities you would need. Proximity to local walks, restaurant and old fashioned local social club

Lovely to meet our welcoming hosts instead of a key box. The room was charming and comfortable and we slept really well. Breakfast was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Location, lovely owners, fresh milk! It’s the small things which make the difference. ☺️
Very friendly hosts. Met on arrival. I was early but my room was ready. I arranged an earlier check-in, but that was no bother. Spotless room, comfortable bed. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice. I was well catered for as I have a gluten-free diet. Beautiful area, lovely place to stay. I enjoyed my short stay. I was made very welcome.
The property was centrally located in the same building as the Post Office so not quite a cottage but none the less charming for that. Su and Tony, the hosts, were very friendly and helpful, the room was cosy & well equipped, it and the bathroom were immaculately clean. There was a very generous hospitality tray which we made good use of. Breakfast was outstanding, locally sourced produce cooked to order with generous amounts of cereals, juices, toast etc. We were recommended to use the nearby pub and a reservation was made for us. The pub, The Wortley Arms, was every bit as good as the cottage; again, enthusiastic users of local produce with exceptional service. All in all a very pleasurable stay!

Sparkly clean everywhere. Very welcoming hosts. Lovely breakfast. Friendly guests staying there at the same time as me.
Just one little thing; bigger, fluffier towels would be nice! Everything else was great.
Great breakfast, lovely people
Friendly couple who went out of their way to make us comfortable and showed concern when there was a power outage due to the storm, apologised profusely but of no fault of theirs.
Very clean. Great attention to detail. Very friendly and helpful. Also helped dig our car out after overnight snow!
Nothing to dislike! It was lovely.
Really friendly and welcoming. Had all the facilities you could ask for

I found the duvets a little small to my liking and the bath towels could be slightly bigger too, but it was not really a problem.

Such a lovely little place to go, the owners where so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely and had a nice homely feel to it and was extremely clean. The breakfast...wow just wow! everything was cooked fresh and you get a menu when you arrive to pick what you want. We will definatly be back sometime in the the summer :-) and we might see you at the Straw Bear next year. Thank you for great stay for our first wedding anniversary.
So, so clean. I'm picking and it easily met my standards. Nice and welcoming room, warm in the cold weather but not too hot, lovely spacious and hot shower, super comfy bed and quiet room. We'll be back.
When the heating comes on in the night you have about 10 minutes of loud clicking from the radiator, but either turn it off or just wait it out. No issues after the 10 mins.
Breakfast Staff Location to Wortley hall
Tony & Su are lovely and were so accommodating and have a lovely home. The room was really great really clean and well presented. Breakfast was really nice plenty to choose from. I will definitely be going again. Highly recommended.

Wortley Cottage Guest House was an enjoyable place to stay. Tony and Su were quite a pleasure to talk with. Breakfast was great. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. All together, we would highly recommend it.

Warm welcome. The owners love what they do, pay attention to detail this makes for a wonderful stay.
I never received breakfast but i think it because i arrived late and when i returned from the christmas do i saw a form to complete but it was too late. Had to purchase a breakfaast from the cafe next door.
Very homely, friendly, clean and a lovely breakfast. Definitely going to stay again.
Nothing. Everything and everyone was lovely.
Tony and Su who own the guest house were really friendly and accommodating. Very clean room, lovely location and I really enjoyed the breakfast. Highly recommend.
Great idea to have the option of breakfast delivered to room. Property is right in TPW bridleway. Room was clean with nice extra touches such as chocolates.
My partner checked in as I was walking. She told off for going in the wrong entrance after check in and told she was on private property. When I heard of this a when I arrived it made me feel a bit on edge as I have been suffering with stress and extreme social anxiety and hate conflict of any sort even if it hasn't happened directly to me. The village unfortunately has an extremely busy road running through it although the location for the trans pennine way is fabulous.
Nice veggie breakfast , great location for countryside and Sheffield itself. Good walks on doorstep
Superb hospitality, Tony and his wife were very accommodating what a lovely place to stay. Petty it was for only one night but I would highly recommended.
