Super staff. Great spot in central Paris, we walked to the left bank and up to Montmartre. Historically located inside one of the “Passages” Could use in-room coffee vs. the trip to the lobby
Nice hotel, but room needs some upgrades. Bathroom was nice, a lot of towels. The area around hotel is super convenient and safe. Staff was very nice , friendly with exception of one person.
Charming stay at a traditional hotel The staff were wonderful and very helpful, Clarinet the cat - who I suspect is the real Maitre d'hotel - frequently welcomed us at reception, which was delightful. As a warning, the hotel is not really accessible. Many stairs and steps before you reach the elevator, which will be difficult for those with limited mobility or unwieldy luggage. Our room was small and quite hot and humid. No air con in the room, but a fan kept the air moving. Bathroom was good. The whole property is from a bygone age, which will delight some and frustrate others. The decor is a little tired. Location is good, very close to the Metro and plenty of good restaurant options within a few minutes (if you like Asian cuisine, the Brigade du Tigre is wonderful and a short walk away). We didn't have breakfast.
Lovely, quirky little hotel. My room was on the top floor and the sloped ceiling above the bath made the shower difficult to use, but I would certainly stay again
Hotel Chopin truly captures the essence of Paris! It’s absolutely quaint and charming, tucked away in a beautiful historic passage built in 1846, which adds so much character and a sense of old-world Paris. The setting feels like a hidden gem—peaceful, picturesque, and full of charm. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations. One of the highlights was the delicious breakfast—fresh pastries, great coffee, and a cozy atmosphere that made every morning special. If you're looking for a cute spot in Paris that offers a true local experience with excellent service and unique historic charm, this is the place!
Hotel was in a great location and quiet at night
This hotel is V Parisienne and v old and quirky. No aircon but a fan. A good breakfast. The bathroom was ok with a fab view over the rooftops of Paris but the handheld shower was awkward. The location is good. The staff are helpful and friendly. I enjoyed staying here. A true local.
We were very happy at Hôtel Chopin for our first trip to Paris! The room was cozy and clean, and fit our needs: somewhere simple, clean, and safe to sleep for a fair price. The front desk staff were all pleasant, polite, and helpful. Breakfast was also very good (continental, so nothing cooked, but the croissants were amazing). The entrance is down Passage Jouffroy, which was very fun to walk down each day! (Passage Jouffroy is secured at night - use the buzzer by the gate to call the front desk if after 9:00pm.) It is less than half a block to the Grands Boulevards Metro station (follow signs to Musée Grévin) which made it convenient to everywhere in Paris. There are also many restaurants and cafés within an easy walk, and we felt safe on the street, even late at night. The room did not have air conditioning, (nowhere in Paris does), but they provided a fan, and the room cross-ventilated nicely so it was cool enough to sleep at night. We would stay here again.
God placering i godt område. Næsten ingen støj. Fint udvalg til morgenmad. Venligt personale.
Little small but clean, good breakfast, and short walk to many major sights.
Ist ok für ein WE
This is a lovely little hotel in one of the historic Paris passages. It is wonderfully located for all the major attractions of Paris. The hotel is comfortable and kept very clean. The staff were all unfailingly cordial and helpful - especially when my misplaced glasses needed to be shipped home to me. Oh, and Clarinette the hotel cat kept us all in line!
I liked the history of the hotel, but a little renovation and better mattresses would be nice.
Quaint, but must be mondernized. No AC meant open windows and therefore flies and noisy pigeons
Cute boutique hotel enclosed with in the Passage Jouffroy making it very safe. Loved the shops & eatery there. Hotel was very clean & staff was very friendly & helpful.
A recommander
The hotel is a quaint and very nostalgic. It was a wonderful experience
An older hotel with charm. Very clean, calm, comfortable. Excellent breakfast.
Lovely little hotel. Great location and staff.
Un hôtel de charme qui mérite plus... La propreté implacable des lieux....
Loved the old style charm of the hotel and our windows opened to a nice view of Paris rooftops. Basic room but had everything we needed. Front desk supplied hairdryer and kettle on request. Our room had a fridge which was a bonus. Easy area to walk and Metro very close by. Only issue are the stairs from the front desk are a bit tricky with luggage and the lift is very small. Loads of places to eat - would definately stay again!
Excelente servicio, el personal super amable, excelente ubicación
Although the receptionist explained that the hotel would be locked after 21.30, she didn’t make it clear that there was no direct access at all. There needs to be a small card or guide which is issued to every guest as they arrive which explains that, after 21.30 the whole boulevard is chained and locked and that you have to walk right around the block to find the entry gate and even then you have to press the buzzer and wait for access. Finding yourself locked out of your hotel is not what you need after a long and tiring day!
Wonderful—will stay again!
This is a lovely boutique hotel, reasonably priced in a trendy area with lots of restaurant options. Handicap access has some challenges with several stairs to get to elevator. Also the entrance to the bathroom was a little tight... Probably my size not the hotel's fault.
We were grateful for the staff in accommodating our luggage before and after check in/out.steps away from metro station . Hotel was in a passage, so very quiet and safe, overall a wonderful experience. We would definitely stay there should be be travelling to Paris again.
Very unique property that we enjoyed. People with accessibility issues would need to steer clear—steps to front door, inside lobby, even up to the tiny elevator that is not big enough for a wheelchair! However, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast (10 euro extra per day) was delicious, and the whole area was charming. Easy access to two metro lines and many places to eat. We had a back room without a view (except top of the passageway and roofs) but that made it super quiet!
A charming, unique hotel with a very comfortable bed and very friendly staff! Great value and a perfect location to tour Paris' most famous landmarks. I will be back!
El hotel es una joya. La ubicación excelente. Nos encantó. Sin duda volveríamos a hospedarnos aquí.
we stayed here as a last minute decision and we couldnt have been happier. love love love, would recommend one million times
Very friendly staff, nice venue at the end of the gallery, and nice atmosphere in the hotel. Rooms a bit worn, bathroom could have an update, a very soft shower. Breakfast was quite basic but OK. Easy, fast and flawless check-in.
It is a quaint hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was hot for a few days. The hotel cat is adorable
This hotel opened in 1846 and it is in great shape in a true Parisian neighborhood in the center of a passage of shops and cafes. My room had bedroom and bathroom windows that opened to the roof tops of Paris and the glass roof of the Passage Jouffroy that glowed pink at night; such a great view! I didn't pay for hotel breakfast as there are plenty of cafes and restaurants outside the door and in the neighborhood offering a variety of cultures of food. Close to bus lines or 20 minute walk to Gare du Nord central train station. I am older solo female and felt safe in hotel neighborhood but always careful around any central train station for pick pockets, etc
Staffs are very kind for us. And domestic cat of this hotel is very quite.
Such a unique hotel, lots of character. Nice to stay somewhere a little different with so much charm. Staff warm and welcoming, even the hotel cat is very chilled which our daughter loved. Great location, lots of bars, cafes, bistros and restaurants nearby and transport links fab. Hotel is down a beautiful passageway which means a good quiet nights sleep too.
Un peu chaud malgré le ventilateur
Hotel Chopin is perfectly placed for a short trip from London. Central position making access to most major attractions walkable. The hotel itself is fabulous, beautiful decor, first class staff, comfortable beds, fantastic dining room and a hotel cat! Highly recommended!
Hotel Chopin was a lovely stay. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Especially as I left one of my belongings there as I was leaving, they helped return it to the UK. The hotel itself its in Jouffrey passage with independent coffee shops and gifts stores etc so there is a lot to do. Its right in the centre with Gare du Nord being a short taxi ride away. The room was clean and had everything that was needed for a basic stay. Small hotel, but great value for money.
We reserved the budget friendly room for one night. We knew it would be small, but it was filthy. Carpets, walls and hallways were disgusting. I have pictures if needed. The bathroom had been remodeled, but we couldn’t even stand up in shower due to the dormer. Breakfast was ok with fresh squeezed orange juice. Room 413 is an abomination.
Good!
Very nice hotel and great staff.
Safe hotel with friendly staff. Highly recommended for famliy staying in Paris on a budget.
Me gusto que tiene minifrige
Perfekt!
Situated in a lovey quiet alleyway. Quaint shops and good restaurants all around. Good breakfast but very small space for breakfast. Staff friendly and helped with luggage. Front desk should have explained about after hour closing of the alleyway. Got stuck outside and had hard time getting back to the Hotel. A bit scary, especially when your tired after a long day. Otherwise nice Hotel.
No hot water kettle,no hairdryer,no air conditioner, everything is old condition, only location is good.
Great location, lots to do nearby and great restaurants
Beautiful hotel with lots of character. Great for the price. Superb location in one of Paris' premier passages. Would benefit from a little maintenance in shower so head doesn't need holding. Would be a quick fix and make it much easier to use. Otherwise loved it!!! Lovely bars and restaurants right near by. Close to metro. Comfy.
Perfect place, good value for money, friendly staff, a hidden gem in Paris.
Friendly staff and excellent location.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. It was clean and cosy and felt like home away from home. As an added bonus, they have a cute little lobby cat
We were able to walk to most places. Very central. One night we heard the neighbours, but apart from that it was fine. The shower was a hand held one.
posizione perfetta mezzi pubblici comodi zona ricca di ristoranti albergo molto carino
It was great journey for us. They helped us for everything. Passage was very good and metro was too close to hotel. All famous streets are very close to hotel, you can walk everywhere. If i will go to Paris again, I will prefer same hotel to stay.
M.I.A.family ~ PR🇵🇷
A 3 night stay, close to everything, Gar du Nord etc Room clean and comfortable beds. Recommended a fab Restaurant nearby, very helpful staff
All the charm of Paris, in a great location!
We chose the hotel based on a glowing review in an Australian newspaper without researching any other options . Staff were fantastic. Room good although hot. Electric fan but didn’t help in excessive heat. Bathroom no fan which I thought odd. Bathroom small. Shower needs larger shelve for toiletries. No hairdryer in room. Needs redecorating and modernising. Decorators were onsite decorating public areas. Overall a great location to key attractions with very good staff. Refurbishment and sorting out proper air con would improve my ratings
The front desk workers were SO NICE!
Staff were fantastic and very accommodating, rooms had character, comfortable bed - bathroom on the smaller side but suitable for a two night stay. Would reccommend!!
This was a great historic hotel and such a fun area to be in. Steps away from the metro which we took daily. Breakfast was perfect and the staff was fantastic.
This place is lovely! The breakfast is cheap and delicious, the rooms are cute and the staff are so helpful. I would stay here again.
Simply wonderful and charming in every way!
The Hotel Chopin is a charming, historic hotel at the end of an indoor passage full of shops and a restaurant. The location is GREAT for exploring Paris on foot, taking the metro, etc. The neighborhood around the hotel is full of shops, cafes, and amazing restaurants. There is always a lot of activity near by. We loved the area, and we always felt very safe there (especially since the passageway is gated & locked at night, and you have to be buzzed in). The room itself was TINY, and very hot (we were on the top floor). There is no AC (it's an old building!) and we were there during a heat wave. We requested 2 twin beds since we were friends (not a couple) traveling together. However, the room is so small, the beds were pushed together so it was like one bed. This may be uncomfortable for some. The bathroom did not have a shower. Just a tub, with a moveable spray handle for washing hair. It was not possible to shower standing up due to the length of the sprayer and the slanted roof. We made this work (for 14 nights!). But I can see how this would be challenging for some. Again, this is a historic hotel. There is a tiny lift (elevator), but you have to access it by stairs first. If you are on the 4th floor, there will be some more stairs after the lift. Consider this if you have mobility issues. It worked for us, and was only a little challenging at check in/check out when we had to haul all our luggage up and down some stairs. The staff is helpful and kind.
The staff at Hotel Chopin is very friendly.
Excellent location, close to many restaurants, bars, shops and most importantly the train station, very good for the price
Unique vibe, very clean, great service, excellent location
Hot, smelly room and uncomfortable. No air conditioning. How do people give this hotel 5 stars?
If you want big rooms with air conditioning and all the amenities, this place isn't for you. If you want clean and well maintained, but quant with tiny elevators, half flight stairs everywhere, pets in the lobby, located on internal pedestrian passage (mall), etc. than this is the place. Not cheap but what in Paris is.
Great location and lovely set up hoping to go back again
Cute hotel in a fantastic location, a quiet oasis in the centre of elegant Paris.. Convenient for visiting Paris and using Gare du Nord / Gare de L’est. Easy to find with lots of quirky boutiques, all kinds of restaurants and shops just outside the door.
Overall good service and experience staying in the hotel
Hotel Chopin was perfect for my needs. It was convenient to everything with a Metro stop right outside and tucked away from the street so that it was quiet from any outside noise. Housekeeping cleaned my room every morning and there was always someone helpful attending the desk. Thank you!
Very well placed in the centre of the city and quite.
Charming hotel in a family style. Location full very convenient in a romantic historical arcade of Paris.
Quiet and good location. Changed our room at our request. Let us check in early.
Quaint and old fashioned hotel. Needs some remodeling but not uncomfortable.
Like the area and had a lovely stay at hotel Chopin. :)
This hotel is in a very urban area, it is very close to public transportation and the staff is very polite. However you are at the end of a mall, there are no green spaces around and there was construction going on while we were there. The rooms are very small, you have to carry your luggage up two flights of stairs just to get to the elevator. There is no air conditioning though you are provided with a small fan, which was not helpful during the heat wave.
Old hotel Needs renovation Needs air conditioning
Hotel is very close to the Metro, down a short pedestrian walkway. Charming older building only 2 or 3 stops from the Louvre. Some rooms don't have air conditioning, but have multiple windows.
Great right bank neighborhood, walking distance to Opera, Louvre, Marais, Les Halles....
I would describe Hotel Chopin as quaint with friendly and helpful staff. We had a room on 3rd floor overlooking the rooftops and it was, for me, a wonderful view. The room was very small, not much space to walk comfortably round the bed but that is to be expected from hotels in Paris. The bathroom was airy and light but we had a deep bathtub with a shower overhead. I prefer a walk in shower as it is difficult to get in and out of the bath. The hotel is in one of the "passages", which fascinate me with their eclectic mix of shops, and it also meant that we were unaware of the street noise, which can be overwhelming at night. Breakfast, at 10€ was lovely, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. There was plenty of choice and I found it good value. Great central location for those who don't like using the metro as lots of tourist sights are within walking distance. Grands Boulevards metro station is also practically on the doorstep. Lots of restaurants and cafés nearby, including Le Chartier, which must be on every tourist's list of places to eat, just for the experience. A good place to stay, reasonably priced for the location. I would be happy to stay there again.
Cute and quaint.
Good old hotel with history, great location, good service at the reception.
Charming old hotel near the subway lines with easy access to downtown attractions as well as train station. Staff friendly. Carpet a bit dirty in the room, but otherwise just what we needed.
