The accommodation was very good and the location was an excellent base for exploring all the attractions (eg historic houses & gardens) in the Kent Sussex border area. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was very good.

Whilst the food was very good (mentioned above), we thought there were some issues with it. The dinner menu was pretty expensive and the quantity of food was limited. For example I had the lamb (at £32) but it only came with a 3 very small pieces of lamb on a huge bed of cous-cous (I think it was cous-ous). More lamb and less cous-cous would have been more appropriate for the price charged. Breakfast was good but it appeared (from the menu offering) that if we had the cooked breakfast that there was no cereal or fruit juice offering. We asked for fruit juices, which we got (at no extra cost), but we are no the wiser about whether we could have had cereal as well. Most B&Bs offer cereal/yoghurt and fruit juice before the main cooked meal and it was disappointing that this didn't seem to be the case here.

This is a great place to stay. The staff are so helpful and pleasant. The food is very good! We ate in the restaurant, the service was excellent, as was the meal.

Lovely quiet room which was a decent size. It was very clean and the bathroom was down some stairs (room 7) which I thought was cute but can imagine some people won’t like it if needing to use it during the night. Great selection of breakfast options.

The English breakfast was ok taste wise but not great - e.g beans seemed to be cold straight out of a tin and the sausage was dry and over cooked.

Lovely luxurious ‘inn’ - with such friendly people. Lovely food, and sumptuous breakfast as well.

The staff made a good stay into a memorable one, a great team, of mostly women who worked seamlessly, happily and with keen expertise. Also the really old (1500s I think) inn had been expertly renovated by an interior designer who really knows their stuff. Bravo to the owners Nice local bar and restaurant as part of the Inn. Friendly staff who provided great service and there were lots of thoughtful touches in the room - fresh milk for tea & coffee, lovely Bramley products, big towels, big comfortable bed. Very good breakfast too.

Die Unterkunft liegt perfekt in der Nähe von mehreren National Trust Sehenswürdigkeiten. Auch der kleine Ort ist wirklich prima. Das Personal ist sehr entgegenkommend und freundlich. Saubere Zimmer, ordentliches Frühstück, großer Parkplatz.

Wir hatten ein kleines Zimmer zum Hof. es war etwas eng. Bei geöffnetem Fenster roch es nach der darunter liegenden Küche. Keine Klimaanlage - ist aber erst im Zug des Klimawandels ein Thema.

Banging doors by other guests. Noisy and strong vibration. Perhaps they could fit the hydraulic closing mechanisms to fix this? Or put up a few signs asking guests to be courteous of others sleeping. Back fire escape needed cleaning. This was used as another entrance for the back rooms.

A fantastic overnight stay here, lots of character and charm. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. Our room was absolutely immaculate with some lovely touches like Bramley hand wash etc. This is how’s it’s done! 🙂

The staff were welcoming and excellent. The clientele as a pub demonstrated how popular the Inn is with fine food in an air conditioned restaurant. Our room was air conditioned,large with a welcome huge king size bed and modern bathroom. Since the weather and sun was incredibly hot and there were large numbers outside we thought that that the tables there needed more umbrellas to shield them.

Breakfast was A1 . Really good, the service was A1 , the staff was delightful, very well trained and very happy to help at all times. The room and bed was very comfy

The ensuite was down some steps, and the steps was a bit narrow, otherwise very good

Not The Queens Heads fault but our booking of a “twin room” turned out to be a queen size bed and an unusable sofa bed. The staff were fantastic at offering solutions and making the best of a booking.com fail.

Staff were warm and welcoming and efficient. Food was great...fish and chips and well kept beer for lunch. Breakfast was very good tasty. Well presented and served with a smile.

Wedding guests who came in at 2 am loud and noisy....but that is not the hotels responsibility.

Found The Queen's Inn excellent and exceeded my expectations. Katie and Simon were exceptionally helpful to assist especially my baggage which need to go up stairs to the 1st floor. Also, the temperature in UK was extremely hot 30c so having an air-conditioner was wonderful. Food in the dinning room was very good also.

Only the stairs was an issue with me. But that is my problem.

Room had milk in fridge - SOLID! Inadequate tea/coffee; breakfast - poached egg tasted of vinegar (why do people use vinegar when doing a poached egg?? Ruins the egg-taste!);

Updated heritage accommodation with A/C bedroom and Dining Room essential for comfort during a heat wave.

Beautiful quaint rooms - not enormous but everything we needed. Loved the fresh milk delivery in the morning for our tea in bed! Staff so helpful and friendly and the breakfast was amazing! So much choice and delicious!

Would have liked a non slip mat in the shower bath please!

Lovely small town with a great town close to 2 fine gardens. The staff were so friendly and helpful. the room wa so good. good selection of beer and wine locally and the menu especially the lamb dish was superb.

The only issue that some people would find awkward, i didnt, was walking through a bar full of blokes having a drink after work with your cases in tow.

The weather was unseasonably hot and there was no fan in the room. We had the window open which helped a little but made it very noisy as the hotel is on a busy road.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, the room was beautiful, spacious and very tidy. The breakfast was delicious and rich! We had everything we needed.

A grab bar in the bathtub would have been good for safety.

Bed was extremely comfortable and had a good sleep. Very pretty room with all facilities and quiet. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Good service and complimentary brownies in the room were the best. Enjoyed my stay immensely.

The staff went out of their way to help, always very friendly. Room was lovely, very comfortable bed and good quality linen. Personal touches like homemade brownies in the room. Breakfast was exceptional. Will definitely return when we are next in the area!

The room was very small so difficult to find a place for 2 suitcases, the Wi-Fi was marginal or non existent in the evenings.

The staff were all so friendly and chatty. The food was very good, both the pizza, evening meal and breakfast. We married there 18 years ago so had gone back to celebrate and stay in the same room! The room was very comfortable with the biggest bed!!

The shower in our room was so poor. Weak flow.

The inn is a refurbished 16th century part timber framed building. It has been sympathetically restored and is very appropriately furnished and decorated. It is a pleasure to stay in. Breakfast offers a wide selection of options which are generously served. Staff were pleasant and accommodating in every respect.

The Queens inn , we checked in before 3, the room was beautiful, Sharon the manager upgraded us. All the staff were very friendly, attentive. The roast dinner was the best, would highly recommended this place

Not really a criticism - there isn’t much to do in Hawkhurst, apart from go to the queen’s inn restaurant & beer garden - both of which are fantastic!

We loved the location, with some little shops, bakery etc down the road. We had a lovely big room with everything you need, and a very comfortable bed. Lots of parking. The staff were all so friendly and attentive.

The building is very attractive, the restaurant and pub are clearly popular with locals and understandably. There is a lovely garden to the front of the pub which is a super sun trap. The room we had was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent. We were welcomed by an attentive member of staff and the food was very good.

Our tv wouldn’t connect, we were too tired to find a member of staff to fix it, but we tried quite hard and in the end gave up. It wasn’t a big issue and I’m sure someone could sort it.
