Special place with a lovely owner. It was really nice to spend some time there and discover a little more about Indonesia’s history and culture. The garden and pool are amazing. Peter also helped us arrange our transfer and provided us with some very useful recommendations.

Het is een prachtige accommodatie, de tuin en het huis zijn betoverend mooi. Er hangt een goede sfeer. De eigenaar heeft een hoop mooie verhalen, personeel is ontzettend vriendelijk, er wordt zeer goed voor je gezorgd. Wij vonden het verblijf heel erg fijn. Het is denk ik de beste plek om te verblijven in die omgeving.

Geluid van de moskee vroeg in de morgen, maar dat is overal op Java het geval.

Prachtige villa's met een enorme tuin en fijn zwembad met zonnebedjes. Vriendelijke Nederlandse eigenaar die je graag van informatie voorziet. We werden hartelijk welkom geheten, hebben geluncht en' 's avonds hebben we er ook gegeten. We waren er maar 1 nachtje.

Helaas toch het geluid van de 7 moskeeën in de buurt. Vanaf 3.15 uur barst het los als een soort dolby surround. Wij hebben prima geslapen met oordoppen in, maar wees je ervan bewust als je deze accommodatie boekt. Maar.. dit hoort nou eenmaal bij een islamitisch land.

Lawaai van 7 omliggende moskeeën dat met name in de vroege ochtend heel hard was en lang duurde. Echt jammer van zo'n mooie plek.

Schöne Anlage, nettes Personal, Pick-Up Service vom Bahnhof, toller Pool und schöne Zimmer. Das Essen war gut. Perfekt für Familien und Pärchen. Nicht geeignet für Alleinreisende.

Die Anlage an sich sehr schön. Die Umgebung ist schön, aber total vermüllt, überall ( in den Hinterhöfen, Flüssen, Reisfeldern) liegt Plastik rum. Das ist ein generelles Problem in Indonesien, aber in seiner Ausprägung örtlich sehr unterschiedlich. Die Bevölkerung dort scheint wenig wert auf eine saubere Umwelt zu legen. Ich hatte einen Guide gebucht, der war zwar sehr informiert hat aber auch versucht mich als alleinreisende Frau in sein Haus einzuladen. Ich fand das ungangenehm

There is a mosque very close and we were there during Ramadan and the speakers and readings went on all night long off and on, we literally slept maybe 3 hours total. The bed was very hard and could use a memory foam topper to soften it a bit.

Ruime huisjes in een prachtig aangelegde tuin. Ontbijt in het hoofdgebouw was prima. Vriendelijke ontvangst. Mooi zwembad en alles zeer rustig gelegen op omheind privéterrein.

Naprostá oáza, úžasný personál i pan majitel. Pokoj pohodlný, velký, čistý, krásný. Bazén příjemný. Jídlo vynikající. Výlet s panem majitelem i veškeré další výlety do Národního parku a noční Ijen bezkonkurenční!!! Děkujeme za vše a doporučujeme.

Prachtige locatie met hele mooie tuin, zeer ruime kamers en zwembad. De kamers zijn heel schoon. Het is er heerlijk rustig. Het ontbijt, lunch en avondeten waren erg lekker, met ook goede opties voor ons als vegetariërs. Peter en het personeel zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De tour met hem langs de plantages is ook zeker een aanrader!

Un havre de paix avec un jardin magnifiquement bien entretenu, un espace piscine avec transat très conforts.... chambre et sdb spacieuse avec literie grand luxeet terrasse....il ya même une bouilloire avec café et thé à disposition.... l'accueil de Peter vous mets à l'aise tout de suite.... il nous a organisé l'excursion pour Sukamade.... nous avons dîner et petit déjeuner qualité des produits au rdv....nous y sommes rester une nuit de plus un grand merci 🤩

Landelijk vlakbij plaatsje Kalibaru. Heerlijk zwembad. Goed eten, ontbijt, zelfs melk. De gastheer Peter weet veel te vertellen over Indonesië. Schitterende tocht naar de vulkaan Ijen vanuit hier gedaan.

Regelmatig slecht wifi bereik. Lawaai, was een feest in de buurt aan de gang met 2 dagen muziek dat om 05:00 ‘s ochtends begon en tot laat doorging. Op zich kan de eigenaar hier niets aan doen maar was niet aangenaam.

We zijn hier 1 nachtje gebleven maar dat hadden we ook wel meer mogen zijn. Het zijn grote huisjes in een prachtige tuin. De eigenaar is Nederlands en erg gastvrij en behulpzaam.

We really liked our short stay here (2 nights) and found the town very friendly with some nice walking in amongst the fields nearby. The room was large and clean. The gardens are pretty. The food we had was nice.

De gastheer is heel erg vriendelijk en geeft goede uitleg ,personeel ook heel vriendelijk ,en ze doen alles om het naar je zin te maken .

Geluid van de moskee

Wir wurden direkt vom Bahnhof abgeholt. Super schöner Garten mit herrlichem Pool. Grosses Häuschen, leckeres Essen und sehr nettes Personal. Der Besitzer nimmt unsere Bedürfnisse sofort wahr und kennt die Gegend ausgezeichnet. Alles ist perfekt.

Tout était parfait, personnel aux petits soins. Havre de paix à Kalibaru parfait pour recharger ses batteries après un éprouvant voyage à Java. Idéal également pour préparer un tour à Sukamade avec le guide local pour découvrir la vie au milieu de la jungle et son refuge pour bébés tortues,

L'accueil de Peter et tous ses précieux conseils, le lieu magnifique, paisible (on s'habitue aux chants des mosquées), les excellents repas. À tel point que nous avons prolongé de 3 nuits notre séjour en y glissant une excursion à Sukamade organisée par Peter.

Tout était parfait pour nous.

We hadden een hartelijke ontvangst van onze host Peter en zijn personeel. Mooie tuin waar je tot rust komt en heerlijk zwembad. Mooie, ruime, propere kamers. Goed ontbijt en mogelijkheid te lunchen en te dineren. Lekker eten! Mooie excursie gedaan naar Turtle Beach. Kortom, super!

Peter is een goede gastheer met mooie verhalen over de omgeving en het dagelijks leven in Indonesia.

Niets (behalve het geluid van de moskee wat maar door bleef gaan ivm 80 jarig bevrijdingsfeest, maar daar is niets aan te doen - ze hadden zelfs oordoppen klaar liggen in de badkamer)

La proximité de 4 mosquées qui se mettent à chanter dès 4h20 le matin sans discontinuer de manière alternative. Cela peut ressembler à du harcèlement. D'où les bouchons d'oreilles dans la salle de bains, on a compris après

Prachtige tuin, heerlijk zwembad en geweldig personeel! Het is echt even tot rust komen in Rumah Kita. Al kun je ook genoeg leuke activiteiten doen als je geen zin hebt in rust, daarvoor hebben ze veel opties met fijne gidsen. Zoals Soeprie die je het hele dorp en alle ambachten laat zien.

all is perfect

Stunning accommodation set amidst a beautiful garden with great views of the nearby volcano and paddy fields. A peaceful and serene haven with attentive staff and great food.

Really truly beautiful place. A wonderful garden with the volcano looming in the background, all seen from the veranda where we had a good dinner (be sure to order ahead of time) and breakfast. The pool to the side of the house was, as the rest of the place, well-maintained and we enjoyed using it. Rooms were large and accommodating, and the ceiling fan worked well. Peter and his staff were excellent and attentive hosts, and they arranged for his to see the nearby former plantation.

At some point in the early morning I heard the calls to prayer, being a light sleeper. Having read some reviews I thought I would be blasted out of my bed. But having slept in Javan cities, I didn't think the calls were very loud at all out here in the quiet countryside. All the other four members of my family slept right through them,

Geweldige tuin met mooie aankleding en zwembad (troebel water),zeer ruime gezellige bungalow, lekker eten en ontbijt. In ons geval was de villa niet tel bereikbaar tussen 14 en 14.30, geen Grab noch taxi, aankomst moeilijk.

This is a wonderful hotel set in beautiful gardens with a pool and stunning views. The villa was large with a comfortable bed, lovely linen plus a spacious ensuite with towels for showers and pool provided. The Indonesian breakfast (western available too) was generous and tasty - as was dinner. All the staff were helpful and smiley.

The room was amazing, very spacious, and clean. Dini was out host the two first nights, and I have two say she was really kind helpful and attentive. My girlfriend is vegan, and Dini managed to do some delicious vegan meals with local recipes.

The hotel has a wonderful garden. It is very calm, quiet and relaxing, you are sourrounded by nature. Breakfast is excellent. We did the tour of the plantations with Pepe and it has been one of the highlight of our trips in Java

Mosquee is very near but we slept well anyway

We werden zeer gastvrij ontvangen en er werd met ons meegedacht mbt de verdere invulling van onze reis. Via deze locatie een tour gedaan naar sukemade. Fantastische ervaring en geweldig geregeld. Onze guide en driver waren zeer ervaren en aardig. Aanrader.

The owner Peet is an amazing man! Shares lots of important information, even if you haven’t booked the tour with him. After all I guess we should have booked with him… .

absolutely spectacular garden and pool, lovely spacious rooms, nice food in restaurant

if you are sensitive to noise the call to prayer from the nearby mosque in the early morning may bother you. we did not find it a problem and our children slept straight through it.

Breakfast was nice. The guesthouse is situated in a lovely garden away from the main road. We arrived in the evening and had to leave the next morning so not sure about further surroundings. Would recommend staying a bit longer do to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Bed/cushion too hard for me so did not sleep very well.

The room is very large and very nice. They have a beautiful garden. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The only problem is the noise from the mosques. The hotel can do nothing about that. Because they are aware of the problem they provide earplugs which help a bit.

Everything was good, only 1 thing to know is to wear some earplugs at night if you do not like an early rise from the Mosque :) Was no issue for us, but a nice experience!

This place is gorgeous. Beautiful room, clean, grounds and pool are lovely. Breakfast was all you could need. Would 100% stay here again. We even arrived late after check in and someone was happy to help us get in still!

Just be aware that the room opens straight into the rest of a villa where people eat breakfast in the morning - minor issue only.

What we liked: The host (Dutch) was very friendly and welcoming. He picked us up from the train station, we had some interesting talks, he gave us very good tips and tricks for our journey further in Bali. As such, we came in contact with Ronnie (+62 812-3911-297) whom guided us in most of our travels in Bali. Back to the hotel; it is a small 'center parcs' with 1 main house and two smaller houses. The smaller houses host both two rooms for guests. The pool was great. The room was great! Everything was nicely decorated. It was like a small relaxing paradise.

The WIFI connection in the room could be better, at the main house were breakfast was served it was OK. Furthermore the bed was a bit to hard according to my girlfriend, for myself it was OK. Finally, at 3 AM in the morning the mosque nearby started shouting it's morning pray. Normally I sleep through anything (ambulance, trains, et cetera) but this even woke up me. But, the hosts provides ear buts to ease this discomfort.

Wonderful place with a very beautiful garden and swimming pool. Very clean and big room, good breakfast. The owner helped us in everything and organized plantation tour and Kawah Ijen tour.

Alright, hear me out! We've seen some things in Indonesia. Your expectations get crushed over and over again, until you lower them enough to just be happy to get a bed that doesn't bite you. Especially with pictures. Most places you look at with an 8+ rating look stunningly beautiful and clean and everything. Until you arrive. Then you notice that everything is falling apart, filled with mold, bugs, hairs from people who stayed there before, etc. When we were on our way to this place, on our 7 hour drive, I told my partner to not get her hopes up too high. (There was a pool on the pictures, after all, but so far most of the pools were green and murky or "broken") Boy, how did we gape when we arrived! I've got a hard time rating something a 10/10 because there's always things to improve. Not with this place! Not at that price! It's almost insulting, when you compare it to every single other offer in Java (on Booking) that has rooms at this rate. (The owner is European, which made a lot of sense all of a sudden. Because money is invested in maintenance, property upkeep, etc. The place looks like new.) All that said: the room was amazing, as were the bathroom, shower, garden, pool. And the food was divine! We got a tour on the Glenmore plantation, guided by the host himself. He has so much to share about his life and life in Indonesia, etc. Did I mention how divine the food was?

I gave this a 10 out of 10, what do you want? Okay, here's one thing: Kalibaru is so far away from all the typical tourist stuff. (Bromo, Tumpak Sewu, etc.) But if you're on your way, by train, from Probolinggo to Banyuwangi (after doing Malang - Tumpak Sewu, to Probolinggo - Bromo), I definitely recommend putting in a stop in this place to check out the plantations.
