Beautiful and authentic set up, in keeping with the natural surroundings. Tents and accommodation is very comfortable while still enabling you to feel immersed in your surroundings. The staff were very kind and helpful; they gave us 5-star service across the board during our stay both while at camp and on safari. We felt very welcomed by all. Safari was brilliant. Our driver was incredibly skilled, getting across the park quickly and safely so we saw as much as possible. Our guide was also incredibly knowledgeable. All made sure we could see as much wildlife as possible. Lastly, the food was incredible. Every meal was 10/10 - the best we have had during our time in sri lanka. We even got to make our own hoppers. They were very accommodating for my girlfriend who is a vegan also Cannot recommend this place enough if you want to go on a safari in Yala

We loved our stay-we were the only guests so we were very spoilt. Everything from our welcome to our goodbye was excellent. The lunch was trad. SL food, which was divine. Our safari was excellent with Nikki as our guide who spoke very good English. The dinner outside with a bonfire and freshly made food was spectacular too. We were very comfortable. Doggies were great protectors!

Die Lage der Lodge ist sehr gut, für uns war es sehr passend, da wir so angereist sind, dass wir morgens eine Safari machen können und im Anschluss direkt ans Meer weiter konnte. Durch das Gesamtpaket war es für uns sehr passend & unser Ranger war top und hat uns wirklich gut geführt und uns Leoparden gezeigt (wir waren Lucky an diesem Tag). Das Dinner wurde mit bisschen Interaktion präsentiert, war ganz nett, aber muss jetzt für uns nicht unbedingt sein.

Die Sauberkeit ist okay, nicht mehr. Das Abendessen war deutlich zu teuer und geschmacklich eher schlecht (kaum gewürzt). Preislich ist die Unterkunft okay, mit Safari doch eher hoch für den Stay.

Una experiencia fantástica. La cabaña era nueva, amplia, cómoda y con todo lo necesario. Pero lo mejor fueron el personal y los safaris. Ruwan estuvo siempre pendiente de nosotros, adaptando las comidas al nivel de picante que queríamos y explicándonos la gastronomía local. Disfrutamos muchísimo de las cenas, el show cooking de egg hoppers y los picnics durante los safaris. Hicimos dos días de safari y la experiencia fue excelente. Nuestro guía Earl fue fantástico: muy atento, con muchísimos conocimientos y siempre intentando que viéramos el mayor número posible de animales. Vimos leopardos, elefantes, búfalos, chacales e incluso un oso. El segundo día quisimos cambiar el plan y el equipo se adaptó completamente a nosotros, combinando safari en el Bloque 5, baño en el río y picnic. No es una opción barata para Sri Lanka, pero es una experiencia mucho más personalizada que un safari convencional: vehículo y conductor excelentes, guía privado y personal de la reserva acompañándonos. Para nosotros mereció totalmente la pena.

Durante nuestra estancia hubo algunos cortes de electricidad. Al quedarse la cabaña sin aire acondicionado, con el calor la temperatura subía rápidamente. No parece un problema específico del camp y el personal siempre estuvo pendiente de solucionarlo, así que para nosotros fue un inconveniente menor.

Beautiful location- perfect for our family of 7 with 5 Teens. The accommodation was excellent and we were all really well looked after and made to feel comfortable. The staff are all so friendly and it did not feel fake. Our Teens had great fun playing games in the communal area and relaxing together. We stayed for two nights and did a full day safari in Yala block 5…. This did not disappoint and we saw a wide variety of animals including Leopards, Sloth Bear, tonnes of amazing birds, elephants and crocodiles. It felt ethical and our guides were very considerate of the animals and we did not feel we were in crowds of people at all. The food at Camp Leopard was some of the best food we ate during our 3 week trip in Sri Lanka- we ate evening meals outside and had a great variety of meat and vegetarian food to cater for us all. Would highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Camp Leopard. The location is truly exceptional, surrounded by nature and offering an incredible feeling of being immersed in the wilderness. It is a peaceful and unique place, perfect for an authentic and unforgettable experience. We would especially like to highlight the kindness and helpfulness of the entire team. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive and caring throughout our stay. We immediately felt at home, and every little detail was taken care of to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. The food was also excellent, with delicious, fresh and varied meals. After a day out in the wilderness, it was a real pleasure to come back to such high-quality cuisine. A very special thank you to our guide, whose knowledge of the wildlife, the park and the surrounding environment was truly impressive. He was passionate, patient and extremely professional, and his expertise made our safari experience even more fascinating. We also really appreciated the respect he showed towards the animals and their natural environment. We would highly recommend Camp Leopard to anyone looking for an authentic, peaceful and memorable wildlife experience. Nous avons passé qu'une nuit au Camp Léopard, mais j'en garderais un souvenir à vie grâce à Ruwan. La chambre (Tente) était comme je m'y attendais pratique, propre. Le repas ainsi que le petit déjeuner très bien et copieux. Le matin j'ai vécu un moment magnifique avec les singes, les écureuils, les paons, et une petite mangouste qui se promener. Merci à tout le personnel mais surtout à Ruwan.

The accommodation was lovely but the staff were exceptional. They couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating.

This is easily the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. The glamping tents are very comfortable, the food excellent, the staff wonderfully welcoming and the attention to detail is high. The camp lounge and outside eating, everything js great and the ambiance exactly what you would wish for. The safari experience is clearly excellent with very on point driver and knowledgeable guide.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Every single member of the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Even though this is a camp/glamping experience, the rooms were spotlessly clean, and the entire property was exceptionally well maintained. Earl served us delicious meals throughout our stay, and we loved every single one of them. We also joined the safari organized by the camp. Our guide, Rash (I hope I'm spelling his name correctly), was extremely knowledgeable, passionate about his work, and genuinely enthusiastic. Thanks to him, we were lucky enough to see two leopards, a sloth bear, deer, and elephants. It was truly an unforgettable experience. The night we stayed happened to be during the Perahera festival, and there was a parade at the temple in the city center. When the hotel staff noticed how interested we were, they kindly offered to take us there. Nicky explained the meaning and importance of Perahera to us and made sure that, as two tourists, we had a perfect spot right at the front to watch the parade. It was an amazing experience that made our trip even more special. We would like to thank Nicky, Earl, Rash, and all the wonderful Camp Leopard Yala Safari Glamping staff whose names we unfortunately can't remember. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. De ambiance en de sfeer waren fantastisch. De hospitality en service waren bijzonder goed. Echt een enorm fijn verblijf met super vriendelijk personeel. Enorm goed verzorgde maaltijden, afgesteld op het niveau van pittigheid. We hadden ook een geweldige Ranger (Nikki), met enorm veel kennis over de natuur en de cultuur. Hij sprak perfect Engels waardoor we alles goed begrepen. Bovendien waren er super lieve honden die van aandacht van gasten hielden maar ook goed luisterde naar het personeel.

En primer lugar hay que recordar que es un Glamping, no un hotel de lujo. Ellos te avisan de ello en todo momento. Aun así, es una maravilla. Es un lugar auténtico donde estarás muy bien atendido, con una habitación fantástica y buena comida pero sin piscina. Eso sí, con la sensación de dormir dentro de la reserva. El dia que estuvimos, se acercó un elefante a la misma entrada. Increible. Además, el personal es extraordinario y el safari organizado por ellos también.

Se puede decir que el precio es superior a los precios de la zona y te hacen dudar si estás en lo correcto. Pero yo repetiría sin dudarlo ni un segundo. Valió la pena.

Mieliśmy niesamowite doświadczenie z Camp Leopard i szczerze mówiąc nie mogliśmy trafić lepiej. Już od pierwszego kontaktu wszystko zostało za nas zorganizowane – transfer z naszego hotelu, safari oraz cała logistyka związana z pobytem. Dzięki temu mogliśmy po prostu cieszyć się wyjazdem, nie martwiąc się o żadne szczegóły. Samo safari było rewelacyjne. Nasz przewodnik był niezwykle kompetentny, miał ogromną wiedzę o zwierzętach, przyrodzie i funkcjonowaniu parku. Potrafił w ciekawy sposób opowiadać o tym, co widzieliśmy, dzięki czemu safari było nie tylko ekscytującą przygodą, ale również bardzo wartościowym doświadczeniem. Cały personel był bardzo życzliwy, profesjonalny i zawsze gotowy do pomocy. Camp Leopard świetnie łączy komfort z prawdziwą atmosferą safari, pozwalając poczuć bliskość natury bez rezygnowania z wygody. Największe wrażenie zrobiła na nas organizacja. Wszystko działało dokładnie tak, jak powinno – od transferów, przez harmonogram safari, aż po codzienną opiekę nad gośćmi. Widać, że zespół wkłada dużo serca w to, aby każdy pobyt był wyjątkowy. Dziękujemy za niezapomniane wspomnienia. Z czystym sumieniem polecamy Camp Leopard każdemu, kto odwiedza Sri Lankę i szuka profesjonalnie zorganizowanego safari, świetnych przewodników oraz prawdziwej gościnności.

Przed safarii o godz 4:15 rano pod nieobecność zarządcy obiektu obsługa obiektu obudziła nas muzyką techno. Tak czy inaczej zbiórka była przed 5 rano ale niestety takie rzeczy nie powinny mieć miejsca. Naszczęście było to 5 min przed budzikiem i nie doprowadziło nas to aż do takiego szału. Reakcja menagera ośrodka była prawidłowa, przeprosili nas proponowano nam zwrot kosztów ale odmówiliśmy z uwagi na niezapomniane chwile jakie przeżyliśmy dzięki nim.

Nous avons séjourné au camp pendant deux nuits et c'était exceptionnel ! Nous avons été très bien accueillis par le personnel. Le personnel était très attentionné avec une table très soignée et une nourriture incroyable ! Concernant le jour du safari, ce fut une journée magnifique qui restera à jamais gravée dans nos mémoires. Nous avons pris une journée qui était très bien organisé avec un déjeuner à emporter et des collations ! Je ne peux que recommander le camp ainsi que l’organisation très professionnelle pour aller au parc Yala.

The staff were amazing, the food was all delicious. The highlight was the 2 safaris we did, where we saw leopards, elephants, bears, crocodiles! Out guide Earl was so knowledgable about all the animals and birds. Could not recommend more!

The camp is great both location, atmosphere, and staffs. The house was clean and quiet, although some bugs can be observed. The service is excellent and the food is really organic and healthy. This place also provides safaris so you need not to arrange with other tours.

Loved the ambience here - Rustic charm. Rooms are very comfortable with great ac and shower. All the staff were friendly and our guide Nikki and our driver were brilliant. Nikki answered so many questions and gave so much information on our safari. I hadn’t realised that a lot of other safaris don’t include a guide and just have a driver. We saw jeeps pulling up with the occupants not knowing what they were looking at! The food is so delicious and so much of it - you won’t go hungry. Loved all the resident dogs too

We had the most incredible stay at Camp Leopard It was truly a magical overnight stay and without a doubt the highlight of our entire Sri Lankan holiday. The food was absolutely delicious, and they were so thoughtful in catering for our three little ones — even surprising them with s’mores around the campfire, which they loved! The property itself is stunning and really makes you feel like you’re camping deep in the jungle under the stars — such a unique and immersive experience. Highly recommend!

The staff and professionalism of the whole experience at Camp Leopard was amazing. Our Safari guide Nikki was just fantastic- giving us such insight into the animals. We did a half day and full day and were so lucky to have private tours both days so were treated like princesses.

After a full day of safari in the Jeep, my back and neck would have loved a softer bed. Dinner on our second night (after our full day safari as well) was a bit uncomfortable as we were seated at one table with 7 other guests but catered a 3 course meal. We were feeling too tired to socialise.

Reasonably priced compared to alternatives in the area. Our half day (evening) Safari guided by Nikki was great and we noted that most other vehicles in block A didn’t have a guide and hence struggled to spot wildlife. Some food was very good - especially the curries at lunch. We loved the set up for the dinner by the bonfire. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly.

The food at the dinners was very expensive and rather disappointing. I also felt they made a bit of an over performance of check in needing to be at a specific time. And by not having a jeep on site, you are essentially trapped on site where prices are very high. I did see a small lane on the far right of the property, which according to maps would be a 5min walk to the main road and I believe the staff were using this route. Perhaps this is just to make you feel a bit more rural than you actually are. We also did not like the upsell pressure to try to get us to do additional safaris/ create large packages.

Amazing experience with lifetime memories. Everything is up to expectations and more because they focused on small details that makes all the difference. They knew our names before we arrived, they knew I am dairy intolerant, the whole place is simple and at the same time it has an Indiana Jones feeling and we had the chance to see the Leopards so it was truly a wonderful experience. The place is very clean and the food was excellent ! Thank you very much!

Camp leopard was a wonderful tented property near to the entrance to yala national park. You have to book your safaris with them once you e booked at camp. The standard of vehicle and guiding wa superb. The meals in camp were excellent and the meals out on safari were also fab. The camp also organised to go to Bundala bird reserve for a morning bird safari and then dropped us at our next hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. We loved every minute of being with them. We saw leopard, sloth bear, elephants and plenty more. The bird life is amazing.

Abbiamo trascorso una notte al Camp Leopard nello Yala National Park ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. Abbiamo alloggiato in una delle tende del camp: semplice ma molto confortevole e soprattutto pulita. Lo staff è stato estremamente carino e accogliente fin dal nostro arrivo, facendoci sentire subito a nostro agio. L’atmosfera del camp immerso nella natura rende il soggiorno ancora più speciale, perfetto per chi vuole vivere l’esperienza del parco in modo autentico. Un’ottima scelta per chi visita lo Yala National Park e vuole provare l’esperienza di dormire in tenda senza rinunciare al comfort. Consigliato!

Lovely scenic setting. So peaceful. The tent we stayed in made you feel you were in with nature, but was clean and AC was a nice touch. Loved all the dogs too. ‘Rash’ was a great tour guide around The National Park. The evening meal was fantastic with Sri Lankan food and the chance to cook your own Hoppers and smoores. Nice touch.

We had a great stay! The Tents are comfortable and clean, felt very luxurious. The staff is so attentive and friendly, especially the Managers is very detail oriented and so helpful! He really ensures that you have the best time. Our Guide for the Safari was amazing and so knowledgeable! He and the drive both made sure all the animal encounters where in a respectful and ethical manner. We can definitely recommend Camp Leopard! (The food is absolutely amazing too!)

Heerlijk verblijf in Camp Leopard. We werden heel vriendelijk verwelkomd, de tenten waren super goed uitgerust, het sanitair was uitstekend, zeker naar Srilankaanse normen. Het diner buiten in de tuin was zeer lekker maar ook heel gezellig in een mooie setting met veel sfeerverlichting. We werden tijdig gewekt voor onze ochtendsafari. Net genoeg tijd om een tas koffie, koekjes en banaantjes te verorberen alvorens te vertrekken. Bij aankomst aan de ingang ( niet ver van het kamp) reden we al de jeeps voorbij zodat we snel aan de safari konden starten. Na aanvankelijk weinig dieren te zien zie de chauffeur dat we ons moesten schrap zetten en zette hij een ware rally in naar een plek waar een luipaard gespot werd. Heerlijk om eindelijk een luipaard in het echt te zien :) Ook nadien nog heel wat andere dieren gespot met uitleg van de gids. Na de safari genoten van een lekker ontbijt. We hadden nadien nog ruimschoots de tijd om ons uitgebreid te douchen alvorens onze reis verder te zetten.

すべてが特別な体験でした。 ヤーラでやりたかった本格的なサファリを楽しみたい方は心からおすすめします。レンジャーの方もドライバーの方も、スタッフの方もみなさんとてもプロ意識を感じて素晴らしかったです。またスリランカディナーはオーガニックでこだわりを感じました。サファリは夕方と朝の2回は最低でもいくことをお勧めします。雰囲気は特別でディナーだけでも来る価値のあるステイでした。とても良い思い出になりました。友人や家族にもおすすめしたいです。

寝具はベッドに沈みがあり、夫婦2人だと少し狭く感じました。綺麗にされているのは感じましたが、わたしは少し寝心地の悪さを感じてあまりよく眠れませんでした😅ですが、外でキャンプをしていると思ったら十分だなと感じますが、潔癖の方やベッドにこだわりがある方は少し気になるかと思いました。シャワー圧はかなり弱かったです。

The set up of the small scale camp is charming and camp manager Earl was lovely. We booked a half day dusk safari with a knowledgable guided and this was of course the best (but unpredictable) part of the experience. We saw elephants, buffels, many birds and even a majestic leopard. For our exit we arranged a taxi through Earl, who also brought us back to the meeting point, which is a bumpy 10 minute ride.

We had thought to stay closer to the park, but it was still half an hour to the entrance of block 1. The tent is comfortable and even offers AC, but the mattressess are very tired. During our stay, the bbq was not possible and the dinner did not have the quality the price suggested (like crisps on a plate, kottu and ready made dessert).

Camp Leopard has been the highlight of our Sri Lanka trip. Ruwan and the team were all excellent - so hospitable, friendly and knowledgable, and the camp setup is perfect. Their passion for what they do comes across with the excellent guided safari tours and the attention to detail at the camp. We would definitely recommend for anyone looking to do a safari in Sri Lanka!

Wir hatten im Camp das A-Frame gebucht. Es ist neu, großzügig, sauber und ruhig gelegen. Sehr netter und interessierter Guide, danke nochmal an Earl für die tolle Morgensafari und all das Wissen, was er uns vermittelt hat über die Tierwelt. Auch das Essen war sehr gut, wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und wurden toll versorgt. Alle sind super nett und freundlich. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlungen!

The owners constantly made sure we were as happy as possible. All food locally made was excellent. We especially liked BuBu, the local camp mascot (a German Sheperd).

Power outages which made the room impossible to be in. A young puppy nipped our legs upon arrival. Not an issue for us as we are used to dogs but people should be aware.

Our stay at Camp Leopard Yala was truly special. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome..kind, attentive, and genuinely lovely throughout our stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing, generous, and beautifully prepared, setting the perfect tone for the day. The camp itself is incredibly unique, surrounded by nature and full of wildlife, creating such a peaceful and magical atmosphere. Staying here with my friends made the experience even more memorable We laughed, relaxed, and truly connected with the calm of the surroundings. Waking up to the sounds of nature and spending time in such a serene environment was unforgettable. If we ever come back to Yala, this is definitely a place we would love to return to. A truly beautiful experience from start to finish. 💚

Ein kleines Camp mit 3 Zelten und einem Haus im Zeltstil. Wir hatten ein Zelt und zwei Safaris gebucht. Ruwan der Campmanager hat uns an einem Treffpunkt abgeholt da das Camp im Reservat liegt. Wurden gleich von einer Affenfamilie begrüßt - tolle Atmosphäre mit Lagerfeuer beim Abendessen . Die beiden Safaris waren der Knaller - mit einem Privat Guide Sudheera der uns mit Begeisterung über jedes Tier und jeden Grashalm etwas erzählen konnte. Etwas teurer als die Massensafaris aber jeden Euro wert. Gerne wieder.

Die Ausstattung ist zweckmäßig aber man darf keinen Luxus erwarten

We absolutely loved our stay at Camp Leopard. The staff was incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, which immediately made us feel welcome and at home. The camp blends beautifully and sustainably into nature, offering many quiet spots to retreat and relax. The tents were very spacious and felt surprisingly luxurious for a camping experience, while still preserving an authentic connection to the surroundings. There was a truly family-like atmosphere throughout the camp, enhanced by the adorable dogs that belong there. The food was outstanding and exceeded all expectations. The safari was an absolute highlight – our ranger was exceptional, knowledgeable, and clearly committed to animal welfare, always keeping respectful distances and prioritizing sustainability.

Nothing at all – we truly didn’t miss a single thing.

Es war eine außergewöhnliche Erfahrung. Wir haben noch nie einen so hohen Grad an Professionalität gesehen. Das Team rund um Ruwan hat einen extrem hohen Anspruch an sich selber, um den Gästen eine bestmögliche Erfahrung zu bescheren - sowohl im Camp, als auch auf Safari. Danke dafür!

Die Safari empfanden wir als professionell, der Preis war absolut gerechtfertigt. Alle waren bemüht, trotz der schlechten Wetterlage viel zu ermöglichen - und das mit Erfolg!

„Glamping“ ist zu viel versprochen und trifft es leider nicht. Wir empfanden unser Unterkunft als muffig und mäßig sauber. Während der Preis für die Safari absolut fair war, halten wir den Preis für die Unterkunft und das Essen für überteuert. Es ist einfach gehalten, was auch ok ist - dann sollten Preis und Wording aber nicht auf „Glamping“ lauten …

We arrived at the camp in the evening and it looked beautiful with all the lights, the room was really comfy it it has a really nice camp / jungle / safari vibe. We had an amazing 4 course dinner and got to try making hoppers too, Ruwan was a lovely host. We did the safari in the morning with Nikki and went through the less busy entrance to block one really close to the camp. We saw a leopard and sloth bear, elephants, water buffalo’s and loads of birds. Nikki is really informative and was a great guide, he knew so much! We also had a packed breakfast which was delicious! They also let us check out a bit later so we had time to shower when we got back. Definitely the best experience you can have for a safari in Yala!

It was a unforgettable experience. We did two half day and one full day Game Drives. Our guide was one of the best we had in our safari career. Very helpful, experienced and friedly. The driver was also great. Food and tent: excellent. Extremly high hospitility! We can highly recommend such Camp!

L’emplacement de Camp Leopard est parfait, tout proche du parc de Yala. Ruwan a été un hôte parfait, extrêmement prévenant, passionné par son métier. Le repas du soir était absolument délicieux !

El personal es muy simpático y amable! El conductor y Nickyy , el guía son super expertos. La experiencia del safari fue perfecta! La cena muy buena y la habitación, teniendo en cuenta que es un campamento en medio de la selva , tiene todo lo necesario. Realmente se respira paz!

Wir hatten einen wahnsinnig tollen Aufenthalt im Camp Leopard - große Empfehlung! Anfangs waren wir etwas skeptisch, da man aufgrund der Lage in der Bufferzone des Nationalparks vollkommen auf die Angebote des Camps angewiesen ist und die Preise im Vergleich zu den Angeboten vor Ort doch sehr teuer erscheinen. Allerdings müssen wir sagen, dass sie jeden Cent wert sind! Unsere Ganztagssafari mit Nicki war traumhaft! Er ist ein super erfahrener Guide, der jederzeit darauf bedacht war, dass wir so viele Tiere wie möglich sehen und dennoch das Gefühl hatten im Park alleine unterwegs gewesen zu sein. Nicki und unser Fahrer haben jederzeit die beste Entscheidung getroffen, sodass wir stets mit sicherem Abstand einen tollen Blick auf alle Tiere hatten! Trotz der eher niedrigen Wahrscheinlichkeit im Oktober haben wir in Block 5 drei verschiedene Leoparden, zahlreiche Elefanten, Krokodile und viele verschiedene Vögel gesehen! Generell ist die Ganztagssafari mit Frühstück & Mittagessen im Park sehr empfehlenswert! Auch das restliche Camp ist magisch! Wir hatten das Glück, dass wir am Anreisetag ganz alleine im Camp waren und das Abendessen an einem gesonderten Platz mit Lagerfeuer und Lichterketten stattgefunden hat - sehr romantisch! Alle Mitarbeiter sind unfassbar zuvorkommend und sehr nett und darauf bedacht, dass man einen einzigartigen Aufenthalt hat. Insgesamt einfach zu 100 % empfehlenswert!

Nos gustó la tranquilidad que se respira, que si te gusta andar, tienes caminos cercanos al parque de Yala donde te vas a encontrar con un montón de animales que campan a sus anchas. Las tiendas tienen aire acondicionado y en general es una experiencia que no había vivido antes.

A tener en cuenta: no hay nada cerca para comer, por lo tanto hay que hacerlo todo con ellos, no olvidarse de pedirlo.

Everything was superb from the hammocks to the wildlife just metres away, the fire pit at night while we dined, the excellent safari organised by Camp Leopard. We didn’t see a leopard but the abundance of animals and birdlife made up for that.
