Tai Wah Boutique Hostel

This was an excellent hostel to stay in for a few days in Mirador Mansion! The receptionists were friendly and welcoming. I felt safe and secure here and my room and bathroom was very clean upon check-in. Also, hostel was walking distance to the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade & laser light show, subway stations, shopping and restaurants!

this will be the cheapest and neat accommodation you can get in Hong kong TST. mine was a solo trip in October 2019. this hotel is very near To TST metro station and walkable distance to avenue of stars. temple street and all. Room size is too small and bathroom is neat. we will get a common washing machine and hot water kettle for our use which is kept in the common area. no breakfast. if you are looking for cheapest and best available option- this hostel is for you. By the way this is the first time i tried a hostel.but I didn't feel any a difference between a hotel and a hostel. i got a separate room for a very cheap rate. there are lot of hostels in this building in different names under the same owner. even if you book an expensive room you might get a cheap room as per availability. so always book a cheap room in Mirador mansion.

The rooms are very clean and well kept. The rooms was very small, but it's pretty normal for Hong Kong, but the bathroom was very big. The hostel is in a mansion with a lot of food shop at the first floor.A very convenient position. A place to rest after your long day and it is just right beside the MTR station.

I booked this hotel because it had a 9.0 rating for location. Using Google maps, we walked from the ferry terminal for around 30 min to find mirador mansion. When the elevator floor on the 8th floor opened, we were all shocked! The floor was dilapidated. It was dark and dingy. There were wet clothes hanging along the hallway! We could not see any sign of a hotel or hostel. A Chinese man in a tailoring shop in front of the elevator directed us to go further in the hallway. When we reached the door, it was locked. There was a phone hanging so we dialed 3x but no one answered!. We were about to go after waiting for 15 to 20 min when a lady carrying a handful of laundry arrived and directed us to come inside. She was the receptionist. We stayed for 3 nights and grew to like the place because it got everything we needed...adaptor, hot water, slippers, toiletries and more! The room was crampy but very clean. And the place is just a stone s throw away from the TST MRT station! I will definitely stay there again if I need to be in Tsim Tsai Tsui!

Hong kong was the destination of this trip as my plan to join Marathon event on February 2019. Tai Wah Boutique Hostel was clean, cozy. This hostel was good for backpacker traveler, but not for family due to narrow space of the room. The hostel also near The Kowloon Mosque and public transportation.

This place is at the center of Tsim sha shui. If you're looking for some comfortable, clean and lovely price hotel, I think this is one of the best choices.

I stayed in Tai Wah Boutique Hotel for 9 nights in Hong Kong. I booked it through Agoda. The price seems reasonable for me compared with other hostels in Mirrador and Chankin Mansions. I also found a lot of good reviews about that hostel. I did a right choice when I went to stay there. Chankin Mansion is busier than Mirrador Mansion so you need to be very patient with taking life up to your hotel rooms if you live in Chankin Mansion. I was lucky that I chose Mirrador Mansion which is less crowded and easy to go up and down the elevator. Both house keepers are also very nice to all their guests. They are from Philippines and do not serve you just for business in the land of Chinese who only care about money. They are working with loving kindness and passion. I think her name is Jenny. She even went out to say goodbye to me when I was about to leave. During my stay, my room was cleaned every day. They greeted me like a relatives whenever I meet. I did feel like home staying there. I would like to recommend this hotel to any budget travelers. Go and stay there and you won't regret it. It is an Oasis in the expensive Hong Kong.

On the 8th floor of the Mirador Mansion. When you enter the building go to the elevator at the right side. There are to elevators, the 2nd gives access to the 8th floor. When you leave the elevator go to the left. You have to use the phone next to the entrance to call the receptionist. I had a double room with street view. Small room but everything you need is there. Right next to the MRT and walk distance to many city attractions.

As per the title, this place was exactly what we needed for a 1-night stopover. This place definitely stood out from some of its neighbours - some guesthouses/hostels in Chungking and Mirador Mansions are pretty scary so we were relieved to find a good spot to lay our heads for the night. It's in a great location, right outside the MTR, close to lots of good food, a 10-minute walk to the promenade/waterfront and 15 mins to the Temple Street market. The check-in lady was very friendly but a little confused and disorganized, although we ended up getting upgraded to a nicer room so we were happy with that. Room was simple with no frills, but tidy, clean, good AC, and just what we needed - we were very pleased with our stay here!

Located in Tsim Sha Shui. This place was pretty good. We stay for 2 days and the next day we went to Disneyland and went back to this place again. The room is quite small since we carried 3 luggage. How to get there from Airport ? Using A21 and it cost 33 HKD and half of it for the children, stop at #14. Walk a bit and you will find Mirador Mansion. In the Mirador Mansion, you will find lift that bring you to this place. The receptionist Miss Jenny was so helpfull. One thing that we really appreciate, when we leave the hotel to Disneyland, we ask Miss Jenny if we could put our big luggage there and carry the small one, because the day after that we would be back again in this hotel. Luckily, the hotel didnt charge us. Anyway: Recomendded, very close to MTR station, Very close to Light Show, Very close to market and surrounded by mall.

The rooms are small, but they are clean and well kept. The beds are comfortable, so it’s perfect for a couple of nights of rest while visiting HK. Overall a decent place to sleep while touring for a couple of days.

Room were sort of more spacious than the ones in Chungking Mansion. The filipina staffs were kind and helpful. They always change our bedsheet and towels everyday. The only downside..they don't have a water dispenser and only provide water in pitcher.

Location is good but room is very small, TV not working. Inside bathroom very small, difficult to move. No breakfast, no water dispenser. Poor hospitality. staff not friendly. First day stayed, they did not clean the room and not change the towel. Lift very crowded.

Though located in Mirador Mansion, this hostel is neat right from the hostel entrance, to the reception until its rooms and bathroom. I booked through Agoda and they respond to all of my questions. The room was just right for 2 persons but nothing beats its cleanliness and modern interiors. Reception and staff -Hostel Manager (not sure) is a Filipina as well as the staff I saw. So I am sure rooms are well cleaned. Room -stayed in room 805 a room with windows. i have low expectations but I was really surprise that the room is above average compare to other hostels in Mirador. My friends in other hostel and i can say this one is way better. -they are using key card -has hair blower -aircon and water heater is working well -tv with cable -fast wifi -with daily house keeping, we have clean sheets and towels everyday :) -clean bathroom, has glassdoor separating the shower -with tissue, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste -they provide power adaptors. They use uk standard power plugs Others -they dont have water dispenser. They just provide water in a pitcher and a hot water in a kettle. But all in all i would love to go back here whenever im in hong kong. I still give perfect score because it was just a minor issue for me that they lack water dispenser. I recommend this hostel.

Best

My sister and I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights in the month of July (2017). For the price I paid, I found this accommodation reasonable👌🏼. Mirador Mansion might be daunting (but is definitely better than Chungking Mansion) at the oustide or at the ground floor but the hallway and the lift is just alright. Not too crowded during the morning and evening. The room I booked is the double room with city view (not really a city view because you'll just see the windows of the adjacent building when you open the curtain) which is relatively small but just perfect for me and my sister. AC was okay, TV- no English channels (I really dont care-I like watching local shows when I'm abroad), the bed wasn't too comfortable with only two pillows but was just fine for us. New towels per day 👍🏼. Heater in the shower was good for me I think when it's a colder season. Imelda, the receptionist who was also from the Philippines , was very accommodating and friendly. She even gave us discount when we bought our Disney tickets from the hostel. Overall-👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼 4.5/5

The room was small but it was perfect for a couple and really cosy. The people there were friendly and they clean the room and towels everyday. Perfect place to stay if you are visiting Hong Kong for more than 5 days. There is a 7-11 and the mtr is directly below the hostel. Good location.

We said here for 4 nights. The room is very small, but apparently most places in HK are small, in fact smaller. The room was cheap by HK standards, clean, bed was really hard though, there was hot water though which was nice. This is not in HK island but the subway is very close and easy to navigate. We had a little trouble finding the exact location but once we did it was all good. I would recommend staying here if you are trying to keep cost down but know it is not in HK proper so you may have to travel a little to get to some places.

I can say that this hostel has exceeded my expectations. Although the room was small which is normal in Hong Kong, it was just enough for us. We were two in the room. The room was clean. Rooms are being cleaned every day and towels are also changed evert day. The staff which are Filipinos are also very nice and accommodating. I will still stau in this hostel next time. Plus, the location was perfect.

Take the bus A1 from airport and get off at the 13th stop called Caneron Road. Walk towards the same direction with the bus, look for the building Mirador Mansion. The hostel is located on a small part of its 8th floor. Surrouding area was ghastly but we sure were relieved once entered the hostel's lobby. Our room was small but good enough for sleep, and very clean. Great eating places out the back door such as Kai Kee noodle and Hung Lee congee. MTR Tsim Sha Tsui is also out front so that's super convenient.

It's clean and very convenience to subway station and 7/11. otherwise the staff is not friendly but still helpful.

the rooms are bigger than other hotels with the same rates clean bathroom good hot and cold shower clean towels, bedsheets good air conditioning really very close to MTR and bus stops close to shops, restaurants and tsim sha tsui landmarks they let us leave our things at the reception when we checked out so we can further comfortably explore Hong Kong before our flight at 11pm most of all, the Filipina receptionist, ms melda is very nice and accommodating. we enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again on our next visit we just wish they will have more english channels on their tv.. lol thank u tai wah boutique hostel!

they don't forget to clean our room everyday. they always change the towel and bring another roll of tissue. they even change the bed sheet because we stained it with noodles.Ms. Melda and Jenny is very friendly, they helped us print our disneyland voucher because we lost our copy(we sent the email to the owner and delivered the print out to our room).you get what you pay for when it comes to room size especially to us, Asians.very good location. i will definitely stay here when i get back to HK.

Went to HKG with my sisters. I have to say that I love my stay here. The 2 Filipino staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was super clean and they will clean up for you everyday. They even changed the towels everyday. The toilets are clean and I was happy because it was way bigger that I've could imagine. All in all, everything was great.

everthong was fine

Unfriendly rude staff. Room too small. Place too dim. Toilet very small.

The location is very strategic near MTR station, but at certain hour the lift was full due to many hostel also at Mirador Mansion. Because of the great location, it's easy for exploring the city. The room was small if you bring a lot of luggage, but its clean and comfortable. The staffs are friendly and we can store our luggage after we check out until 6 pm. Nice hostel!

Our check-in was a very uncomfortable/rude experience. We arrived at 12pm and check-in wasn't until 2pm, but we asked politely if there was any possibility for an early check-in. We were expecting a no, but "if you don't ask you don't get" i always say. Instead we were given a filthy look and made to feel like children, by the way the lady at reception spoke to us. She then demanded our passports to scan very rudely and impatiently. After that was completed she shouted at us countless times to leave our luggage at the hostel and come back after 2pm. I asked to use the toilet and she huffed, it was clear that she didn't want us there and to use any of the facilities before the official check in time. At that point we were literally shooed out of the door. In the lift on our way out of the building, my wife and I looked at each other in shock questioning ourselves if "that actually all just happen". We couldn't believe it! The same women still remained rude throughout our stay, but as we were so busy seeing the sights and friends we didn't have to see her much more as we were out all the time. Apart from that the room was no more than ok. If you get claustrophobic, maybe don't stay here as its so tiny and 8 floors up in a extremely grotty old building. We personally would never stay there again!

The hostel is located on tsim sha tsui near MTR station. It's about 5-10 mins walk from exit D1.It's near the shopping mall K11 and restaurants. The hostel is a bit difficult to find so u should ask someone around there. It has only one elevator and so crowed.Inside the hostel,The room is a bit tiny but comfortable. There are towel, bath gel, shampoo and hair dryer. You can connect wifi in your room but sometime it's not work. The room is cleaned everyday but it still has dust in the bed.The hostel has luggage storage. You can storage your luggage until 6 p.m. in that day.If pass after 6 p.m.,it will be charged 100 hkd. However, this hostel is reasonable price for me.So if you find a hostel is comfortable and near MTR station u should choose this hostel.

The mattress and quilt are quite comfortable for me, so that i've got a nice sleep. Although the room is a little bit small, the cleanliness is good enough~ Will stay in again in future.

This 16-floor building contains many other hostels. TaiWah Boutique is one of the well-kept and clean hostels. The room and en suite bathroom are more spacious as compare to that of Tai Wah Guest Hostel (under the same management). Comfortable bed with air-cond, tv, hair dryer, hot water shower, and a small chest to keep your belongings. FOC of daily cleaning service. Drinking water is available at pantry. Staffs are friendly and can speak English. Security guards station at building entrance, where guest registration is required after midnight. Expect to queue up to use the building lifts. Many foreigners come in and out, and hang around at the street at night, but still feel safe.

The room was a little dirty with a noticeable clump of dust at the corner of the bed. The size of the room was quite small - we had trouble fitting our luggages in the room. Service was good as the lady attendant was generally helpful in helping us change toiletries as well as providing us with potable water.

This place is a bit hard to find as we were coming via taxi (and if you are being dropped off by a taxi service, be prepared that HongKong taxi drivers' will refuse to take you to destinations at their discretion.) After asking passersby, we finally locate this place as part of one big building (the building looks run down.) The lifts downstairs are crowded and it's difficult to bring in luggage that isn't a hand carry bag size. Tai Wah is actually very tiny and the reception area can only fit 1 person (if he she stands side ways from the reception), the rooms are tiny but clean. The toilets are also clean. This place provides you with towels, toothbrush and warm drinking water from a cooler that is located in a storage type area. There was one male staff who was friendly, but didn't really speak any English, the other 2 female staff were not so pleasant. The location is great though - close to MTR, ISquare etc. If location is what you are after, then this is the place to stay, however if you want to have a comfortable stay, there is a Holiday Inn across the road which would probably cost 10x more than this place, but give you a decent night's sleep.
