Provider-sourced guest reviews.
We had our home honeymoon here, and wanted a lovely hotel for us and our dogs. This hotel is very dog friendly, also clean. We had a beautiful sea view which The pups enjoyed looking out from when we were in the room. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well equipped for dogs, even dogs bowls were included plus 2 beds. As well as the facilities for the humans hot drink selection. The Jacuzzi bath and rainfall shower was amazing. We where able to log in to our own streaming service along with normal TV. The facilities in the hotel were excellent, the food in the restaurant (which is also dog friendly) was good and very reasonable. We also enjoyed the spa which was a lovely relaxing day and the therapist was excellent. The location of the hotel is brilliant for long dog walks or a short drive to other beaches to take your dogs too. They are also very central for other attractions such as getting the ferry to Arran or millport. Would highly recommend to anyone and would love to come and visit again.
The only thing we didn't like was the rain and being from Scotland ourselves that is unavoidable. So there isn't anything about our stay that we didn't like.
Es sind große geräumige Zimmer mit allem was man braucht. Beim Frühstück war für jedem etwas dabei. Und das Personal war super Freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Lovely coastal setting, great stopover from Glasgow airport to begin our west coast road trip… comfortable bed and pillows.
Sadly, our room was to the rear of the property and adjacent to bin stores - the bin men arrived early and woke us up with the noise. Top tip would be to book a seafront room -there is a significant price premium , though may well be worth it! Breakfast was good , although as daily porridge eaters we were baffled to be told that it wasn’t available on that day, as ‘Chef’ had run out of oats and was waiting for the delivery later ! ( a staple stock ingredient everywhere/ especially Scotland ?!) Granola and fruit was good ( help yourself buffet!), and my husbands smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious 😊. The hot food buffet breakfast also looked good with plenty of options 👍🏼
Cleanliness and friendly staff
Overall nice location and the food was lovely.
Noisy dog next door, barked non stop for 3 hours. Also wish there was another way you could easily access the beach as you need to go through the restaurant and travelling with a dog you need to go back through the restaurant with a wet dog.

Everything
Service at bar was very slow and on one occasion we were forgotten
The hotel was lovely, and our room was superb. Bed was comfortable, patio was really nice (pity the weather wasn't ;) ), lovely modern bathroom, food was excellent.
The people were great, however, on both evenings the service was slow. This was down to staffing levels and they were very apologetic and friendly. My wife got the wrong meal on the second night, but was happy to accept it and the duty manager who was really nice gave us a discount for the inconvenience, which more than made up for it.
Really well planned and in a great location.
All round was exceptional, hotel, food, drinks, spa, location, view. Would highly recommend
The only thing was spa access was limited to 1 day if staying for 1 night, would be nice to have option of going next day and for this to be included within hotel booking
Great location views room
No gym
A nice relaxing stay with good food, friendly staff and a good standard of cleanliness
I was disappointed by the view from my room and the traffic noise but that was totally down to my forgetting to book a sea view room which I usually do. Otherwise everything was perfect!
Beautiful suite and family focused
No water in the room and dirty bath mats
Breakfast was good . Staff were excellent throughout our stay.
Having requested (I think)a room on the ground floor or near a lift the room we were given could not have been more inconvenient. My wife has mobility issues and the location of our original room exacerbated her pain greatly. The second room was slightly better . I could nit recommend this hotel as being truly accessible. I also found the issue of getting alcoholic or some soft drinks rather confusing. The lack of one diet drink in the function suite bar but availability of the same drink a few steps away seemed perverse, similar issues were in place regarding alcoholic drinks and cocktails with the service of cocktails withdrawn altogether later in the night.
Staff were very friendly and a big positive for this hotel. Food was lovely too.
Room 410 was awful!. Lots of windows but all frosted. Large TV at foot of bed, so had to actually be in the bed to watch it.
Loved the view and the doors on to the sea view. We sat for hours listening to the waves. Loved they had access to Netflix etc on there TV so when we wanted to relax we could watch our TV. Love the jacuzzi bath. It was bliss. Staff were so helpful. View was amazing. We will definitely be back.
The food.... why did everything have so many seasoning for dinner! The steak has crispy onions that are meant for like sandwiches or something. The chips has lots of seasoning. The onion rings were drowned in salt and vinegar seasoning that made them white and disgusting. We had to drink the jug of water supplied because it was too much salt and seasoning. It wasn't needed at all.
Location is stunning and the bedroom was huge. Great experience overall an the caramel wafers were a nice touch.
check in was perfect room was ready on arrival as were only booked for 1 night ,just perfect to enjoy the beautiful views dinner was very good as was the breakfast will be back
Good ingredients. Not warm enough . Burnt toast. No bananas
Great break . Lovely and efficient staff everywhere . Great dinner ! Superb evening meal and waitress ( Lixie) was super efficient and friendly . Definitely go back . Wish they did a Christmas package
The location. Love that you can walk straight from the hotel into the beach. Sea view rooms are fantastic
Nothing. All good 😊
Absolutely everything 😄
Nothing
Beautiful hotel Fantastic restaurant, beach and spa experience
Slightly strange layout in the extension area
Breakfast ok had smoked fish too big a portion. Partner enjoyed his said very good Location ok need a car though.
Nothing only let down was the weather
Situation and the spa was very good.
The sofa bed was so uncomfortable . 2nd time I’ve stayed, the breakfast was again cold and disappointing.
The views and surroundings were beautiful. Decor was lovely and very clean
Our keys kept on not working after a certain amount of time so it was quite an inconvenience having to go back to reception to get the number put back on. It happened at least 5 times. At the end of the night we had to get the guy to open it with the master key so that we could get in for the night but it meant we couldn’t leave the room as we wouldn’t get back in. He was extremely helpful though.
Room very spacious, large en suite and beautiful view.
We were situated in Room 415 and had to pass through 7 fire doors, very heavy, and a flight of stairs to get to our room. This was far from satisfactory. Self service breakfast was disappointing, nothing else was offered on first morning. Second morning we had a menu and self service. We were expecting waiter service for the price.
Staff were very helpful, excellent service. Situated almost on beach, very nice
Spa facilities
Lovely clean spacious room Helpful friendly staff Beautiful location Great food at breakfast and dinner
Room was very warm, a fan is provided but it didn't keep the room cool Would be great to get a longer spa experience 1 hour is a bit rushed
Hotel clean and tidy, great facilities, beautiful views , staff helpful and welcoming. Room amazinv very modern clean, tudy and spacious.
Food was a little disappointing for the standard of the hotel
Large, well appointed room. Staff at night and during breakfast were very helpful and accommodating.
Traffic noise outside the room.
We loved out room with the balcony, loved the spa and the staff food and drinks were amazing as was the breakfast
It was fantastic throughout
Accommodation furnishing, style just amazing. all the little attention to detail with the ornaments. The outdoor seating area and access to beach. The spa .
I loved the hotel and the suite , the only disappointment was the restaurant for dinner, it was just very bland and quality of the prawn in the tempura was like cheap frozen prawns. That was disappointing as not cheap but the breakfast was great.
View, the guys in the morning caring about the breakfast. Very good coffee from.the machine. Small continental breakfast possibilities
Too many (fire)doors. The doors to the room make "peng" every time somebody closes them. Less privacy in the rooms because you can see the lights from outside. And you can hear every word somebody talking in front of you room door.
Sehr freundliches Personal. Die Lage ist top.
Lärm von der Strasse. Preis/Leistung von Spa eher hoch.
The setting is beautiful and the Spa is a real bonus.
Nothing,all good
The thermal spa and additional massage treatments were sublime!!
Nothing, everything exceeded our expectations! We shall certainly be back!
Lovely staff beautiful big rooms food was first class
Not a single thing
Good location, great views, great staff, good food. Friendly and welcoming
Bedroom doors a little noisy when closing
The staff are exceptional, they are very kind and friendly. The location is great. There is no elevator but the staff are always ready to help.
The furniture is really tired. The shower is not the best but it is ok. I think changing the mattress will be a wonderful idea. It could have been of that particular room which I had.
It was a beautiful hotel in lovely surroundings.
Location
Spa arrangement a bit odd. Travelling from abroad you can not plan time slots for an hour in the spa, which was included in the room rate. But was refused on the second day later on short notice.
Gardens and beach are very good, location good, staff very friendly.
No evening entertainment for socialising around the bar.
Lovely comfortable new rooms
Restaurant overpriced for what you got fish and chips, burger and chips both around £ 20 and modest portions.
Location and spa facilities - both superb.
Wee bit pricey.
everything
nothing
Rooms were modern and clean
Lack of soul.
Mooie kamer, ligging aan strand, Spa, restaurant
-
Excellent breakfast both cooked and continental
The coffee was too strong and the tea was weak and tasteless
We had a Seaview room in the new extension. It was lovely. Very comfortable.
Nothing
Over priced for a very averge experience
Food was poor and prices were high - not a great combination
Great rooms and position, lovely views to wake up to. The service was great but as usual the staff were under pressure because they were always shorthanded. Food was fine with nothing too elaborate, but the length of time it took to appear wasn't great. Nice break but definitely could be improved.
Kitchen
The relaxed atmosphere was comfortable and the beach location was brilliant for our dog.
Lovely views. Good sized room. Excellent breakfast.
I think the duvet could be replaced. It was a bit lumpy.
The room and view were lovely
The runner along where the hard floor and carpeted area meets in the room we had was a very odd shape and sore to step on so had to consciously avoid it but other than that it was fantastic
Room was spacious Excellent staff Breakfast good overall no complaints
Bar closed at 12 o’clock
Staff amazing, location wonderful. Have stayed here many times and will continue to return
First time staying at this hotel. We stayed Monday to Friday. We took our boxer dog. Our room was perfect, sea view looking out to Arran. Bed was comfortable and room was a good size with a small sofa and table and chairs. Bathroom was huge, bath with jets and a big walk in shower. It is a very dog friendly hotel. Breakfast was good and we ate from the lunch menu and had two night time meals which were delicious. The outside gardens have lots of seating and tables which is lovely on a nice day. Through the gardens and straight onto the beach. A beautiful location. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. We will definitely be back and would recommend. We never used any of the spa facilities.
Room and location are the reason for staying stayed before
Stayed before earlier in the year and the staff and food needed looked at but just reopened so give them the benefit of the doubt .But on this occasion not staff poor do not know if its waiters service or bar just don’t engage with the customer and spend most of the time trying to to dodge customers one or two good but most need to be brought up to a standard where they understand that they are in the service industry . Manger needs this also . Food has improved and can only get better . Prices are totally wrong asking 5 star prices not 4 . I no as i stay lots of 5 star .
Everything was exceptional 👌🏻
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our spa afternoon at Si Spa. Facilities are spotless and there’s a very relaxing atmosphere. We had the Rasul experience which was lovely. Poke bowls were more filling than expected and delicious. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.
So lovely. Peaceful and relaxing - just what we needed!
Visited the Waterside Spa for the 1st time after receiving a voucher for a massage. Treatment was fantastic and very relaxing. I used the thermal suite for an hour before my treatment. Spa is modern and clean and i enjoyed the use of the sauna and hydro pool. There is seating inside and outside with fantastic views of Arran and Ailsa Craig. The spa is small but has everything you would be looking to use. I really enjoyed the spa however for improvements would recommend the hotel staff be a bit more visible at times to clean away empty cups and glasses and take orders for drinks. I pressed the bell which was outside but nobody came and another guest went and got someone to take our orders. I also felt there was a bit of hesitation for some odd reason when i asked for a coffee even though there was a menu which listed coffees. They also need a more visible water station in the thermal suite. I would use the Waterside Spa again but the experience at the Gailes was far superior. The position of the relaxation room at the Waterside is really odd. You have to walk through the spa restaurant to get to it and as there is no door you can hear guests dining. The headphones they also supply weren’t great. Spa is very good but staff just need to make some small changes to make it better.
We went for my friends 40th and tbh the experience was slightly ruined by a rude staff member. The therapist was lovely but the manager was very awkward and unpleasant and everything we asked was a problem, it would definitely put me off returning or recommending. The complete opposite experience to their sister spa.
We were an early time slot which I was very glad about because when we were taken for the treatment it became very busy and noisy. The place was very clean and the therapist was fab. I chose massage and the lady was very good at this. The afternoon tea was delicious. The downside was the small locker rooms. And what I found bizarre was how you have to cut through the spa area when people are relaxing. When new people arrive they get shown the facilities whilst wearing their outdoor wear whilst guests are trying to relax within spa area with swim wear on. Not ideal. Outdoor vitality pool was good but would definitely have been good for one to have been indoors too. I think tranquil Tuesdays may be a bit busy and overfilled with people which can affect your experience and enjoyment.
The location is fantastic. The sea view from our room was great. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. After a long walk along the beach we relaxed in the hot tub and sauna. All the staff were very professional and friendly. Thank you to Ryan for going the extra mile. Only drawback was that we were only there for one night. Thanks to all the staff for the friendly welcome and great service.
Loved everything.
Great location and a lovely sea view from the bedroom. Clean room and good parking.
My only grumble would be about the thick pillows. I prefer a thin soft one. Purely personal preference.
Spa and view
Restaurant pricing and standard of food presented
Staff are so friendly, location is superb, food in restaurant lovely
The whole vibe, the friendliness, the accommodation of needs, decor, background music, location, ease of access to beach
We loved it all
Really gorgeous spa. Facial was perfect and a lovely afternoon tea. Loved the full set up of thermal suite.
What a wonderful and relaxed afternoon. Facilities are spotless. We went for a Tuesday treat- we had plenty of time to enjoy the thermal suite area which was lovely. My massage was wonderful. Then a perfect salad meal to finish the day. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Would recommend to anyone
Property facilitated an early check in to allow us to attend a wedding. Went above and beyond. So helpful
Rooms were lovely and the staff we interacted with were very welcoming & friendly.
I thought the £20 per hour for entry to the spa was a bit excessive.
Location is amazing obviously better in the sunshine but even in the rain is amazing. Staff are lovely and everything is clean. We have visited twice already and will definitely visit again
Everything from the stunning views to the fabulous facilities
Nothing
we loved everything about our stay, could not fault a thing from the lovely staff, fabulous food, great room and the Si spa was superb
I visited the spa yesterday with my daughter as part of a birthday treat. I booked the package which included use of the spa/2x 25 minute treatments (massage & facial) and the poke bowl food option. I was aware when booking this was a more expensive treat, than I would usually book but feel it was worth every penny. I have visited many spas in Glasgow/Edinburgh/Ayrshire areas but feel this was by far the best. I’m not sure if we visited on a day when it was not fully booked, but the atmosphere was lovely and quiet whereas some spa locations I have visited have been packed with clients. The spa is beautifully decorated and the location looks out of Arran. When sitting in the outdoor Jacuzzi or in the sauna you look out onto the beach and Arran. The changing rooms are gorgeous. As I said to my therapist, Jo, this was the best massage and facial I’ve ever had! She explained everything to me before proceeding and the whole session was very professional and calming. Afterwards you were taken upstairs to a relaxation room which is very calming and there is choice of teas/ flavoured waters & you are offered headphones which play a selection of relaxing sounds. The meal was in the dining room again with views of Arran. We chose the poke bowl – there were options of meat / fish / vegetarian a selection of different sauces. We could see other people had the afternoon tea which also looked very good. If you’re looking for a spa experience. which is that little bit more expensive than I would thoroughly recommend this
Waited over 5 minutes to be seated on a quiet Sunday morning with my family. Staff made eye contact but were too busy chatting about what went on in their weekend, we decided to go elsewhere. Poor service
As a coeliac I thought I'd be fairly safe here ordering the sea bass, king prawn & curried lentils as a main course although when it arrived it was plain that there was something missing on the plate. As a coeliac I'm used to items being omitted due to wheat or cross contamination and we 'munched on' awaiting a server asking us about the meal..which never happened - finally we caught the bar manager and enquired about the missing king prawn(s) on the plate. Apparently the chef 'forgot' to include them. Missing a main ingredient of the dish it just became fish and lentils which was not appetising, nor worth £21...we were duly offered free coffee which we accepted and went on our way. We paid using a gift card I had received at work so we suffered no financial detriment for the missing food/forgetful chef but I don't think we'll go back in case it happens again.....
I purchased this gift for my mum. It is not the forst time we have ised the facilities, but first time getting a treatment. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant and the place looks and smells amazing. My mum got tje £50 head, neck, shoulders massage and we were not expecting her being allowed to ourchase items up to the value of the massage. Overall excellent experience and I am already sharing it with my friends and family.
Booked the hotel for my wife’s 60 th birthday ,spa great dinner service brilliant big let down was breakfast ,no leadership ,all food was look warm ,trying to get tea or coffee not good
The spa area is gorgeous with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The outside area has lovely views. My treatment with Sophie was amazing and she was very good at her job. The disappointing part of our experience was the Pokey Bowl we had for lunch. The salmon was freezing and the rice was so moist that it was inedible. It was a shame that this spoiled the experience
Booked a room with view from booking . Com , when we arrived we got a room with no windows, had to sleep in a box, no other rooms available, hotel didn’t care.
A relaxing coastal spa which has been so well thought in the planning, with large picture windows overlooking the ocean over to Arran and access to the sea, for a walk or dip. All areas were very clean, comfortable and conducive to a relaxing day. My only negative was that we had to share a lounger in the relaxing room with music, perhaps timings could be better to allow everyone to experience this immersive relaxation. Afternoon tea was tasty, well presented and warm.
Amazing time at the si spa! We went for my mum's 70th birthday. The facilities and treatments were brilliant. Staff also fabulous. Thank you so much!
If you are looking to completely unplug, recharge, and be pampered within an inch of your life, look no further. My recent overnight stay was nothing short of extraordinary—a five-star experience from the moment we arrived until the reluctant moment we had to check out. The ambient scent, gentle acoustic music, and warm welcome from the reception team set the tone for a completely seamless retreat. Speaking of the accommodations, our room was an absolute haven. Spacious, impeccably clean, and lovely view of the sea. The thermal suite and facilities are so relaxing. Everything is immaculately maintained, and truely relaxing. We also got the high tea and it was the best high I have had in a long time. Just the perfect amount. The real standout of the trip, however, was the treatments. I opted for a facial and massage, and it was hands down the best massage I have ever had. The therapist was exceptionally skilled, taking the time to ask about my preferences and targeting every single knot of tension in my shoulders. I left the treatment room feeling like jelly in the best possible way. To top it all off, the food, dinner and breakfast was amazing. An overnight spa trip can often feel too short, but the level of care and detail left us feeling as if we’d been away for a week. We are already planning our return visit.
The spa and treatments were amazing. The massage was the best I have had in years. The new spa is gorgeous and relaxation area so peaceful! The only downside was lunch, although it was a poke bowl the rice was like it had been in a freezer and the chicken looked like it was from a cooked chicken packet. The kitchen had also ran out of two/four options of dressings.
The setting at Waterside is spectacular, the staff couldn't be more helpful, perfect!
The spa facilities at the Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride were of a very high standard and I loved the outdoor spa pool overlooking the sea and Arran! The Spa restaurant is a gorgeous, cosy place to enjoy your food. The Therapist was lovely and she provided a fantastic 40 minute deep tissue massage which I really needed and enjoyed. I had the Tranquil Tuesday Package which is great value and ideal for those on a budget or who may be new to a Spa experience, though there is a choice to upgrade to 55 minutes for a small additional fee. I thoroughly enjoyed my Spa experience there and will definitely be back! Caroline W
Lovely room with a sea view
We were told to take the lift to the first floor for our room. But when we went round that floor we had to go down several stairs with a buggy to get to the room. As there was no other way to get to the room. Cold water in the shower in the morning. Fire alarm went off early in the morning and woke us up. The price of the room was pretty high. We saved about £50 booking on Booking.com but it was still more than £250 for the night.
Proximity to the beach, modern looking and a good decorative theme. Enjoyed that it is pet friendly.
Noise from the road, the side of the bath was too high and the hot water was off first night so cold showers in the morning!! Staff did sort it out next day.
Room was very well appointed and clean. Lovely comfy bed.
One member of reception staff ( a younger girl) seemed disinterested in guests
Beautiful hotel, scenery, food, staff were exceptional. I was staying for a friend's wedding and the staff were amazing. So friendly and helpful. I hope to be back soon. Beds were so comfortable. Was sad to leave.
Everything was 5 star
Location, overlooking Arran, is beautiful. Deluxe sea view rooms with patio on ground level or window doors on first floor are lovely. Spacious, with table and chairs positioned to enjoy the amazing views. Si Spa outside space, in this warm sunny weather, was great, but small so best enjoyed at a quiet time. Lovely big sauna with huge picture window. Thumbs up on spa treatments and relaxation areas. Easy access to the beach immediately in front of the hotel. Great for a cold dip. Beach clean, water clear. All staff encountered were helpful and friendly.
Evening meal and breakfast disappointing. Good choice at breakfast, but hot buffet not hot enough. Evening meal was overpriced and mediocre at best. Garden area was looking a little unloved. No canopies, outdoor heaters, planting etc to create ambience. But again, fantastic sea/Arran views. Use of spa thermal area an add on and limited to one hour. There were 3 of us, no single rooms or rooms to accommodate 3, so paying almost the same for second room single occupancy made it more expensive.
MY 2nd time at Si Spa and it was even more sublime! I made full use of the pool and saunas plus we ventured down to the beach and enjoyed a cold water swim. My facial was amazing and my skin was radiant afterwards. Our afternoon tea was devoured with our coffees looking out across to Arran. It's such a fabulous setting and all the staff are attentive and friendly. I'll most definitely be back.

I like location and that hotel was near to beach🙂
We wasnt happy about service on restaurant, because managment dont eaven care about guests,i feel there was couple of new staff, them need more help and explaine what them should do. Me and my husband are working on hospitality and we see so many things what was wrong... Morning time manager wasnt so happy that we ask to move from inside to outside! She told as that we need to take all staff out without any help, wich wasnt hard for us,but she dont eaven offer any help or etc. On reservation page was option about SPA,we made reservation and we add 2 kids, but they still offer SPA for extra cost 1 hour free SPA.I took this option, and i didnt understand that kids cant use swimingpool, because when i made reservation there wasnt add straight information that kids are not allowed ,ofcourse i understand about SPA treatments but i mean about Swimingpool. And when i make reservation for SPA there was saying that SPA robs will be in bedroom in bed,but there wasnt. Also when i make reservation i add option kids cot and extra bed make ready for us,but when we areived there wasnt what we asking for. I went to reception and ask for baby cot. I can make extra bed for my Son but there wasnt any extra duvet left or sheet! We were 2 adukts and 2kids,but towels was only for 2 ppl .I can say that they dont eaven check that we will arrive with kids and will be 4ppl total, they just expect 2ppl. There was also dirty socks behind bed from previous guests. Food want good for this place, wasnt tasty at all... I ordered king prawn tempura, but they were made with pizza flower, not how should be... This place is very beautifull, but service and food wasnt good for this place...
Amazing location and rooms are lovely. Food is very disappointing...hard to believe a chef has cooked the food. We ordered the prawn pil pil and it was just tasteless prawns in cooking oil...had a slice of lime in it and slither of a piece of chilli but certainly no taste of chilli or infused oil. Steak pie was beautiful and roasting but the potatoes and veg were stone cold. The next night the arrabiata linguine with king prawns was also stone cold and I had to ask a waitress to heat it up for me. That was also absolutely tasteless and just tasted like plain passata with no seasoning. Staff on first night didn't know anything about the menu and 4 things weren't available. Breakfast was underneath air conditioning and was also freezing. The lady who was dealing with breakfast service is brilliant and heard us mention poached eggs and said she will get them made for us, which she did. The spa is beautiful with lovely staff. I wld say it could really do with relaxing music playing through the different relaxing areas as all you hear is folk coming and going and listening to everyone's conversations. Be nice to have mood lighting too. The pool is lovely, would be nice again to have spa music playing there too. Cocktails were nice. We would return to hotel as rooms are lovely but we would skip the food.
