Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The facilities at the springs were good.
On site shop closed early. There was only one restaurant which closed at exactly the same time as the thermal springs closed, meaning that in order to eat, you had to forgo time in the springs which was the whole purpose of the visit. The menu choice at the restaurant was also not particularly diverse. The checkout arrangements were hopeless because everyone was checking out at the same time as the next day was checking in and the process was excruciatingly slow
Beautiful, relaxing
Lack of variety in restaurants on site
Beautiful views. God variety of hot spring facilities.
No soundproofing between rooms--could hear every word from next door. We reserved a room in the lodge but were instead moved to the farthest building and had to drive to all the facilities. Room was dated and dirty. Sauna was not working.
Sara recognized me from earlier visits. She gave me some great tips for my visit. The drinks at the pool are amazing.
Did not have breakfast at the resort. Ate lunch at the juice bar once and once at the Beirgarten.
The room was like a standard old fashioned motel room, although it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The higher classes of rooms were way too expensive for this senior couple.
The property was beautiful and had everything you would need there without leaving.
Yo tenía una reservación con una cama grande, y cuando llegué al lugar les mostré la copia de mi reservación, y dijeron que me iban a dar la que tuvieran con dos camas.
The pools were great
Rooms were a bit old and beds not so comfortable
Dining experience was wonderful. The food was excellent, and I had a wonderful hostess when I dined in for lunch. The check-in staff were very pleasant informative and went above and beyond to make sure I knew what all the amenities were and that I had all my questions answered. They were amazing!
Too expensive and there was not hot water in the spa showers and marginal hot water in my room. For $400 a night you have certain expectations and hot water being available is one of those. The stairs to the old bath house are in disrepair and pose a fall hazard. Overall, a little dated and it. Down. The dark haired lady handing out towels at the spa in the afternoon when I checked in, was extremely rude not just to me, but to everybody that came to the counter. Very disappointed in the service I received there.
Beautiful resort with so many pools. It was well maintained and clean. Loved our room and the location.
Slippery bathtub with no mat!
Love the hot springs here! There could be a few improvements. When you enter the spa and go into the adult only pool, there’s no sign that says adult only so they’re always kicking kids out of there. There needs to be an ice machine in the lodge not just keep asking the bartender to get Ice for you There is a 3.99% charge while using a credit card to check out of the hotel. No other hotel does this so be aware you can only use cash check or debit card for no 3.99% fee The young girls work in the spa need a little customer service. There’s a girl named Ella in there who will give you a dirty look if you give her a wet towel and want a new one. She gives you the stink eye. There should be a place that you can order food to go from the restaurant that’s inside the lodge There is nowhere that tells you how to buy a day pass people are always asking If you book a regular room with the NX room, the Annex room needs to have Its own fan or air-conditioning Each one of the Hot Springs pools should have a temperature next to it so you’re not guessing how hot it is
Hot spring facilities were nice. Public areas were crowded, so it’s great to have access to the areas that are for overnight guests only. Hotel room on the hill had a lovely view from its patio.
A bit crowded in some areas.
Beautiful location. Loved the adults only pool.
The beds are worn out. You can feel the springs coming through. There was dog poop on our patio both days of our visit. The toilet didn’t work correctly and the coffee pot didn’t work and had to be replaced while we were there.
Beautiful area, warm friendly staff (particularly Jan at front desk) pools were fabulous
Nothing special.
Rooms, pretty old and basic. Price, ultra expensive for what is it. Mayber in winter could be a better option, but we think is overrated and the prices are not worth it at all.
Very unique
Difficult to find room.
Everything
Wish didn’t have to drive to the pools
Middle of nowhere. No light pollution.
hot spring pools were very nice
Every offering on our vacation for the pools were spot on. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and views from our patio were beautiful.
loud music at night
Never stay at the lodge at Mt Princeton. The main lodge is in such disarray, old moldy dirty carpets, original dusty curtains from when opened. No microwave. No mattress protectors, just sheets. Furniture and woodwork is old and very damaged. The two bedroom unit was a joke. It has room for a bed in the second room but couldn't put luggage or no phone charger. Same old curtains and we couldn't close the door as there was no air conditioner in that room.also, The deck outside had peeling paint rotten wood, sagging arm rails and the outside furniture was too dirty to sit on.
Great resort and restaurant. Trish’s aqua class was amazing.
We drove to this spot to check out the surrounding area and the hot springs. We paid for the day pass for myself and my family, kids aged 10 & 13. Altogether it was just under $160 for the day, which at the time I thought was speedy but we had drove 2 hrs to get here so no turning back now. Honestly I was underwhelmed. After paying the fee and getting to the hot spring river, the facility looked tired and not well kept. Minimal loungers around the river area and most where damaged. If I had stayed only at this 1 spot for the day I would honestly have rated the experience as a 1 star for the price. We did however move up to the pool with the slides. This area was much better kept with a bar area and good changing facilities, which is why I improved the rating, but for the price it’s just like getting into a heated mineral pool. Glad we went to say we went into the hot springs, but this for us was the most underwhelming day we spent in Colorado
Extremely friendly staff and nice lodging. Restaurant was very good.
We had a great time . It is a beautiful place to stay .The property is located in a gorgeous area. The pools are spectacular, and we loved water yoga in the morning
July 26th, 2026 at 8:45 a.m. The young woman at the front desk was unfriendly and unwelcoming. I give the resort and Nancy, the water yoga intructor a 5/5. I give the front desk woman a 1/5. Do better.
I loved the small pools in the river Enjoyed relaxing in nature. Really enjoyed our creekside suite along the river. Very peaceful.
From where we stayed which was close to the pools you had to walk on the road. I was surprised there wasn't a sidewalk to the main area.
Beautiful property, well maintained
I liked the creek. The groundskeepers seemed friendly.
The hillside room was very dumpy. It needs a serious refresh. Walls, carpet, beds were very soft.
The pool areas were clean and the staff was very friendly
Check out process is SLOW! There really should be a "drop the keys and go" option. I waited in line 20 minutes to check out today.
Hot Springs, nature, and relaxing atmosphere. I especially liked the Creekside Hot Springs and the Infinity Pool. Room was clean and modern.
Hope the Infinity Pool opens until 9pm same as the other pools. I checked in at 6pm so could not enjoy the Infinity Pool that evening.
The variety of hot springs/pools here makes it such a unique and enjoyable place to spend time! So relaxing with a wonderful environment and very nice and helpful staff. Staying there is definitely worth it for the convenience and the use of the pools for two days even if you stay for only one night. Would love to return!
Hot springs
NO umbrellas at any of the pools!
The front desk is understaffed. For the price one pays to stay here there should be 4/5 star service and there is not!! The best service we received was at the juice bar! My massage from Chrissy was wonderful but once again the staff that work the spa desk left something to be desired. And to close some pools at 5??? The breakfast was very good. The views are what makes this place!
Beautiful room overlooking the river. All the pools were clean and so much fun. The location is beautiful tucked away in between mountains. The front desk was so nice and the breakfast was very good at the restaurant there.
Fam of 7 drove up to the hot springs and pool for a few hours. Everything was great, pools and bathrooms were clean. At the end of our time we witnessed a small child fly off the water slide and begin to struggle staying afloat and clearly needed assistance. Guests in the pool had to grab him because the lifeguard did not jump in, despite having a full view of the incident. Life guard in question, and most the others as well, were wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants despite the weather being in the 90s. Additionally, the top of the water slide has no height or age restriction. While parents do have to sign a waiver before entering, this is unacceptable when a lifeguard's job should be to prevent these situations. The apathy from the lifeguards was disappointing and we would like to return if that is worked on. The views were incredible and we, other from that unfortunate incident, had a great time.
The accommodations were very good! The amenities were just right. We will be back for another visit!!
Our visit to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort ended with one of the best examples of customer service I've ever experienced. Late Thursday evening, we found ourselves in an unexpected situation and were unable to stay at the resort because they were fully booked. Even though they had no obligation to help us once they knew they couldn't accommodate us, Joyce, Jen, and Tonya went far above and beyond. They took the time to call local hotels and transportation services, helped us find a safe place to stay for the night, and even arranged to make sure we could get back to the resort the next morning to retrieve our vehicle. They treated us with genuine kindness, patience, and compassion every step of the way. It's easy to review beautiful hot springs (which absolutely live up to the hype), but what truly sets this place apart is its people. Employees like Joyce, Jen, and Tonya represent the very best of hospitality. Their willingness to care for guests—even when there was nothing in it for them—left a lasting impression on us. I sincerely hope their leadership recognizes them for the exceptional people they are and the care they bring to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort. Thank you, Joyce, Jen, and Tonya. We won't forget your kindness, and we'll absolutely be back.
Nice and comfy
A little bit small for family of four.
The upper pools is the place to go with children of all ages. There are two large water slides, one almost entirely enclosed and one open, but the queue to get on one is a consideration. It's $7 for all day use of the slides. The changing rooms/locker are pathetic, with no place to sit other than on a toilet. There is a nice variety of pools, mostly of the same bath-warm and lightly chlorinated water. Bring any food with you. It took almost 50 minutes in line to get a hot dog or hamburger when we were there on 8 July 2026! Only one person was selling food from a small building and one person was cooking. That is inexcusable. Towels are rented for $7/towel--we brought out own towels. There is a 4% surcharge if you pay with a credit card.
The water and the spa
It was a 50/50 meaning only half of the staff was friendly.
Everything was easy to access. Friendly staff
Trails marked in map that was given at check in were not well marked and very rocky.
Beautiful views from the Cliffside room
Way to crowded It has turned into a lovely family destination but for older folks who just want to relax and enjoy the warm “forget it”
Family Friendly FUN - all ages! So glad we paid $7 extra for the Slides and Upper Level Pools . Enjoyed the 700ft Open Slide and the quiet adult pool with the amazing background scenery of 14k Mts . Also enjoyed the geothermal water in the rocky creek side but recommend wearing water shoes .
Absolutely gorgeous setting. Loved the lower pools and slide. Restaurant and bar were beautiful, had drinks no food. Nice perk for early swimming to customers.
Big bug squashed in bathroom. Pillows were terrible. Room just ok.
The staff at Mt Princeton is exceptional - EVERYONE was pleasant and worked to make things problem-free. Come for the water but stay for the friendly and helpful atmosphere. Thanks Mt Princeton staff!
Crystal took my call and gave me advice i needed to book our four family members for the services we each wanted. i am sure i will be writing more reviews after our spa services with a day of enjoyment. Thank you....Crystal....thanks for patiently holding my hand!
Scout, In the bathhouse is delivering exceptional service! Friendly, caring. The Creekside was nice to hear the river at night. I love the cold plunge thank you for having that. Beds are comfortable
The various pools were great. The food at the restaurant was outstanding. Our only complaint was our bed was like sleeping in a pit. The mattress needs to be replaced. If we would have stayed more than one night we would have requested another room.
Very cute setting. Hot springs , pools were nice and hot. The best part was the natural rock springs where the sand and rocks were hot. One thing I did NOT like was that random people can buy passes so the pools get crowded fast. ESP the kids pool w slide. Cabin we stayed at was nice, beds comfy. Steak house was good , expensive but kids enjoyed it. BV is super close for better food options and shopping. I can’t compare this to any other spring but it felt less “special” with pools being filled w people who were willing to pay for a guest pass. Ran out of towels one day.
For a special resort, the experience was way below standard. My family and I stayed at the resort for 3 nights in June. It was not a great vacation. They advertised daily fitness classes, but only had one or two classes a couple of days of the week. Also, walking to the various hot springs, the steps were uneven, some broken, with no railings. When we asked where the fitness room was, the first 3 staff members had no idea where they were! As an aside, the tissues in the rooms were the roughest, cheap brand. Definitely, not somewhere that I would return, nor recommend.
The resort offers a first class restaurant, mini market and beautiful grounds along a creek as well as scattered hot mineral water pools . We stayed in the Cliffside section. We had a spacious room with a beautiful view of the chalk mountains and valley below. The front desk staff took time with each guest to give a thorough orientation to the resort. Water yoga and core exercises were offered in spa club area. It was quiet. Our room was spacious.
Not a fan of Nespresso coffee makers. Lack of privacy in the patio behind the rooms. It’s one long patio.
The cliff side room was spacious and updated. It was comfortable. The hot springs are nice.
The hot springs were very crowded with hotel guests and day guests. Long lines for everything. The private events with pool closures are not fair to guests who are paying to use the facilities. It used to be that Mt Princeton was an upscale place to enjoy and relax. Now it’s about making money.
The views, the different pool options, the staff.
I wish food was available and facilities were open later at night. Even an hour would have made a huge difference fur our stay.
Great for families
Room was Super 8 quality
Beautiful and comfortable and love the restaurant
Always enjoy MPHS. Pools are relaxing. Grounds are very pretty. Lunch on the patio is nice too.
The pools and restaurants were very good.
There were several places that could have used railings on steps. Wished there had been a set of steps on one end of natural hot springs to allow better access for elderly. Was too afraid to climb down large boulders to access water.
Water classes: Have had many over the years, Trish’s Thursday class was one of the best ever. Really opened all the joints while having fun!
Girls trip group of 6 ladies attended a stretch class with Trish in the spa pool at the resort. Absolutely incredible. The pool and the stunning mountain setting was so perfect. The class was absolutely amazing. Trish had great music, friendly chatter with the entire class making everyone feel welcome, and worked us through a series of exercises to stretch almost every area of our body. Highly recommend Trish and her class to enhance your Colorado experience.
Took a great stretch class at the spa pool today with Trish. She was so experienced that I thought she might be a PT! Her class was very fun with lots of step by step instruction. Can't wait to go again!
No reading light in living space. The first unit we were to be put in was totally unacceptable with a room off a parking lot. No charm, no place to enjoy outdoors, no kitchen, and expectations for $400 a night. I wouldn’t pay $200. The next was $75 more but at least we had a place to sit outdoors. Plumbing in shower exploded when I turned it on. Mineral pools were crowded and full of kids. We should have been instructed to go to spa pool. No bath robes for the high price of the room. Food in dining room mediocre and expensive
Beautiful place, great facilities.
I’ve been a few times now and always find that the mattresses and pillows could be better and of a higher quality. This is not a cheap resort and such basics should be 100% right.
There are very steep rough rocky steps with no handrails going down to the bathhouse and spa area and to one pool. They make you sign a multi page waiver beforehand. Also those pools don’t have good access to enter or exit those pools one no benches in the pools to enjoy sitting and soaking. Also the quiet pool by the spa was closed for cleaning. We weren’t aware of this when we arrived. The day we left, we found out about the much nicer pool across the street.
The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The Hot Springs pools were unbelievably clean with many options to enjoy. The food was exceptional (must try the Wagyu pastrami Reuben (the absolute best)
The pool areas could’ve had more covered spots to escape from the sun
The views and natural surroundings were breathtaking. We mostly stayed around the adult only and spa area. Nice, calm and relaxing. Sara, who handled our reservation and was at the front desk when we checked in was amazing - extremely thoughtful, helpful and overall joy to work with. Thank you Sara! Had dinner at Mary’s - it was ok and a bit overpriced. I understand the remote location factors into that. The gym stayed at 86 degrees and the staff said they had no control over that. I would suggest outside activities to maintain your fitness routine.
Un endroit incroyable et reposant. Nous avons été tellement bien accueillis, avec même un surclassement si apprécié. C'était magnifique.
Room was nice and big and the upper pool was nice. The staff in the gift shop/food store were great.
We had to drive to the pools every time bc we have little kids that can’t walk that far. The upper pool closes too early. And stuff wasn’t very helpful at check in /check out.
No shade, no umbrellas… just to bake under the sun. A lot of the reclining chairs are broken so be careful not to fall off. The cottages have dusty dirty floors, The dishes, cups,… all remain in the dishwasher and not on the cupboards.
Mount Princeton Hot Springs is a beautiful resort with incredible pools. The full moon yoga class in the Infinity Pool is something everyone should experience. The morning water yoga class with Sandy is wonderful as well.
Everything.
Handicap signs too low. Handicap was used by everyone.
Beautiful property and resort nestled in the mountains! We went for a wedding anniversary trip and we left soooo relaxed! Didn’t want to leave 😊
Gets dark at night
We had a great time at the resort. It was so nice that we could stay the second day as well after hotel check out.
We truly enjoyed our time at the resort. The views are beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. Trish led water yoga and was an absolute delight. The accommodations are step above glamping, but perfect for a family or couple getaway. Great hiking near by to enjoy.
Excellent stay! Trish’s fitness class Thursday morning was fantastic!
As always a lovely experience! Bathing in water that is heated in the belly of Mother Earth is a nature miracle in itself. Great customer service and happiness abounds!
Friendly staff
The resort itself is gorgeous I've been there once before just for the day and I had a great time I had heard nothing but good reviews about this place but I had a horrible experience I had booked a reservation months in advance drove all the way out to Mount Princeton got there to find out they had giving away my room and they were having water issues so they didn't have another room for us besides a crappy room that we did not pay for so we ended up having to just cancel our entire reservation and drive three and a half hours back home because there was nothing they could do for us it was really shitty and I have never experienced bad service like that before. They then told us WE had to figure out how to get our money back for the room through what we booked it from instead of them doing it and then we had to go and find a whole new hotel back in Denver. I was not at all please or happy with how this turned out.
I have been staying here for the last 10 years and the quality of my stay has improved so much! Love this place!
Stunning location and the water is amazingly warm. It was Mothers Day weekend when we visited so really busy but the resort coped with this well. If you don’t have kids make sure to use the changing facilities on the spa side of the bridge across the river.
Nothing! Oh yes - no swimwear spinner on the family change side (and we were dashing back to Denver International so flying with soggy swimmers - not so great!).
Had a wonderful pool work out with Trish! Her positive vibe permeates the entire place. Lovely human.
I love taking the Fitness Classes at Mt Princeton Hot Springs. Especially when the instructor is Trish B. She is an excellent instructor and an even better life motivator. Always leave feeling Better than when I Arrived. Thanks so much!
Our experience was completely ruined by an extremely unprofessional front desk employee named Joey. We were wrongly charged for a robe that we had already returned to the spa after spending a significant amount of money, and instead of addressing the issue like a professional, he immediately became argumentative and raised his voice. When I tried to explain the situation, he told me to “watch my tone,” and then began to berate me as if we had done something wrong then refused to remove the charge which was completely inappropriate considering we were the ones being overcharged and trying to resolve it calmly and explain while he just repeated himself over and over. I told him this needs to be fixed or id be writing this review he said go ahead he doesn't care not his business. His behavior only got worse from there. He was rude, dismissive, and clearly incapable of handling even a basic customer service situation. When we asked to speak to a manager, he refused, threw his hands up, and walked away from the counter to hide in the back rather than take responsibility or help resolve the issue. That level of disrespect, lack of accountability, and complete avoidance is unacceptable, especially from someone working at the front desk. I told him this needs to be This was not an isolated incident either. He had also checked us in earlier and was just as short, rude, and unwelcoming for no reason at all. It immediately set a negative tone for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend for our family of five. There was absolutely no effort to provide a welcoming or professional experience at any point during our interactions with him. On top of that, the room we were placed in #66 had almost no privacy. The door had only a tinted window that could easily be seen through, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. For a hotel charging the kind of rates they do, this is completely unacceptable and far below standard. As someone with years of experience in the hotel industry, I can confidently say this level of service is unacceptable. His attitude, appearance, and complete lack of basic manners reflect poorly on the entire property. Quite frankly, Joey needs an attitude adjustment and should not be in a position of authority or dealing directly with guests. The only reason this situation was resolved at all was because Evelyn stepped in and handled it properly. She was professional, respectful, and actually did her job. Thank you, Evelyn, for stepping up and taking care of the issue when no one else would. Management seriously needs to address this. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated, and significant improvements in customer service are clearly needed.
