Byron Traditional Hotel

The pictures don’t show how actually beautiful this place is. This hotel (and Nafplio) has been the highlight of my trip in Greece. Beautiful, impeccable, and well-located hotel. I slept like a baby in that comfy bed. The front desk and cleaning staff were super attentive and helpful, with great recommendations. Couldn’t be happier with my stay!

It is a traditional, classy hotel at the heart of the old city of Nafplio, it was very easy to book and check in and staff at reception were very friendly. The building is typical of the architecture of the city, with a very classic look. The room was fairly well-furnished. The hotel is also next to a very historical spot, where the first head of state of Greece Kapodistrias was assassinated. Overall, I was satisfied with my stay there

I thought I had booked a room with a balcony but that was not the case (my bad) and when I asked if any such room is available, it wasn't. I was hoping the room would be brighter, with larger windows for proper views of the city but that was not the case (not the fault of the hosts). As it is, some people may find the room a bit dark or claustrophobic. The shower overflowed easily and made the floor wet. Also, somewhere to hang clothes and towels to dry (e.g. after coming back from the beach) would have been helpful.

location was very good although difficult to climb all these stairs to reach the hotel. The room was well proportioned and clean,with a little balcony with amazing view, breakfast was ok.

the room was in the 3rd floor and there was no lift-surely not suitable for elder people or people with walking/climbing the stairs problem. There was not any mention of it in booking. There was no choice in breakfast (it was a preset tray with breakfast)and when we asked instead of the hard boiled egg in the tray to have a fried egg it was not possible. In the TV there were just greek channels, no international channels or any platform(!!)

Such a beautiful old fashioned hotel! We stayed in the upper floor in a room with its own balcony and it was probably the most beautiful stay we've ever had. We slept with the balcony doors opened and fresh sea breeze was flowing in, even in August we didn't have to use AC! Then we were waking up with the view of beautiful Nafplio center and the ocean under us. Someone mentions here that it could use some renovation but in my opinion the thing that it's not modernized adds to the charm of this hotel and I definitely prefer it this way than some soulless bland modern interior. Still very comfortable and super cozy. We had everything we needed. Staff was nice as well. We're seriously considering coming all the way back to Nafplio just to stay in Byron hotel again.

L’emplacement est parfait ! Au cœur de la vieille ville et pourtant très calme. Le personnel est attentif et prévenant. La chambre est petite mais avec tout le nécessaire. La literie est ferme comme j’aime. La vue de ma chambre était splendide. Le petit déjeuner est varié et bon. L’hôtel est décoré avec goût.

Les taches de rouille sur le radiateur de la salle de bain mais il était très propre. Cela reste un détail très mineur.

Location was fab - what a magnifiscent city - magical actually and the hotel's location was perfect to walk around the city. We found it hard to find by car but eventually parked at harbour and walked to it - once we got our bearings it was all perfect and our host was great - very helpful and kind and always there to help with any questions. Our room was not massive but was perfect for us and the views spectacular with a lovely courtyard to enjoy a drink and watch the cityscapes. There was live music in the square one evening which was fabulous to listen to as was classical and very calming.

Nous avons passé quatre nuits dans cet hôtel et avons apprécié l’ambiance, la gentillesse du personnel et la beauté du lieu. Nous avions une vue magnifique depuis la fenêtre de notre chambre. L’hôtel est particulièrement bien placé et nous a permis de découvrir la ville et ses environs.

Notre chambre était bien sombre, n’était pas dans le charmant bâtiment principal mais dans une annexe et qui demanderait un rafraîchissement surtout pour la salle de bain par rapport au prix payé !

Très mauvaise insonorisation, speciallement quand des personnes irrespectueuses parlent fort de 5 a 6 h du matin...et qu on entend tout....le matelas dure.

Ιδιαίτερα μικρό δωμάτιο, αυστηρά για 1 άτομο, για δυο θα έλεγα πως είναι αρκετά στενό, αλλά κάπως μπορεί να λειτουργήσει.

Breakfast very poor choice and quantity

Fantastic location in the middle of the beautiful and well preserved Nafplio Old town. The hotel is located exactly opposite the famous church where Yiannis Kappodistria was killed. Every morning we could hear beautiful bells from the Orthodox Christian church.

Our room did not have a balcony which is needed to dry towels after the whole day spent at the beach.

Loved how characterful it was and location was perfect!

Breakfast was a bit measly

Excelente localização, quarto limpo e aconchegante, com uma varanda, que tinha uma vista maravilhosa para a Fortaleza Palamidi. O pessoal do hotel era muito simpático e solícito. Café da manhã farto e muito gostoso.

Pena que tive que vir embora

I liked everything, just a superb, pleasant stay, run by a friendly family. Superb. Nothing was a problem. I stayed in 4 different rooms during a month in Nafplio, and it felt very relaxing.

Très bien situé, à 10 min des restaurants de bord de mer, à 5 min des rues piétonnes. Un hotel de charme, bien décoré, très confortable. L’hotel est très calme et il n’y a pas de bruit la nuit. Le personnel est très gentil et accueillant.

The hotel is located in the center of the old town a short walk from either of the free parking lots in Nafplio. It's quiet at night but still right in the center of the shopping and restaurant part of the old town. A short walk to Palimidi or the beach, it was really ideal as a location. The building itself is also very charming and the staff was helpful and attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. One warning: it is up several flights of stairs. Nothing difficult but something to keep in mind if you're a heavy packer.

Excelente, La habitación es muy grande y tiene camas cómodas e individuales. Excelente ubicación y la atención es estupenda.

The location was excellent. Close to cafes and restaurants, a short walk to the beach, close to the KTEL bus drop off/pick up.

Mi sono trovata benissimo in questo hotel nel centro storico di Nauplia. Si trova in un edificio antico, ristrutturato. La camera e il bagno, anche se piccini, sono ristrutturati con cura, così come le parti comuni. La vista dalla camera è meravigliosa, la zona tranquillissima, il personale gentile. È molto carino anche il terrazzino dove si può fare colazione

Very clean and comfortable and an excellent location even with parking just a few minutes away at the port. The view from the balcony was really wonderful for sunrises and nice afternoon shade. The staff were superbly kind and helpful which made the stay that much more pleasant in this warm and cozy old town.

ΠΑΡΑ ΠΟΛΛΑ σκαλιά που δεν αναφέρονταν πουθενά. Δε θα εμπιστευομουν το μπαλκόνι με ξύλινο δάπεδο για να κάτσω για ώρα.

Μια μικρή παρατήρηση, χωρίς βέβαια να ρωτήσω αν υπήρχε ταμπέλα "μην ενοχλείτε" ή να ενημερώσω την διεύθυνση, ότι καθημερινά αν δεν φεύγουμε νωρίς από το δωμάτιο, να μην χτυπάει την πόρτα η υπηρεσία δωματίου. Μπορεί να θέλουμε να κοιμηθούμε λίγο παραπάνω. Με τις καλύτερες προθέσεις και με συγχωρείτε αν κάνω λάθος.

δυστυχώς, όντας στην παλαια πόλη, είναι πεζόδρομος και δεν επιτρέπεται η διελευση οχημάτων, και το πάρκινγκ είναι αρκετά μακρυά. δεν θα το συνιστούσα σε όσους έχουν αρκετες αποσκευές

L’hotel Byron était très bien situé au centre de la vieille ville, dans une petite rue charmante. J’ai eu la chance d’avoir une chambre avec une petite terrasse, et la vue était magnifique !! Le lit était confortable (matelas et surmatelas) et la clim fonctionnelle (ce qui est tout ce que je demandais :)) Le personnel de l’hôtel était aussi très gentil et aidant ! Merci !

L’équipement était un peu vieillissant, notamment dans la salle de bain (lumière qui clignotait notamment), mais rien de vraiment problématique !

Die Lage des Hotels ist perfekt. Wir hatten von unserem Balkon einen fantastischen Blick über die gesamte Altstadt. Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

The location was right in the heart of the old town and central to everything, the beach five mins away, walking distance to the bus stop, local attractions and many cafes and restaurants. It was spotlessly clean and the staff were sensational, friendly, kind. Couldn’t do enough for me. My room had an amazing view and small deck. I would be back in a heart beat. The bed was more comfortable than my own plus the bedding was crisp white sheets. It really was one of the best stays I’ve had in my 50 years of travelling the world.

Nothing at all - it was superb in every aspect.

Location was great. On small street, right across church where first president of newly founded Greece was assassinated. We had the family room which was even better than the pictures. Large, with cute balcony, air conditioner, four bed and very tastefully furnished. Breakfast was served outside on a roof terrace. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

l'accueil est sympa, notre chambre donnait sur les toits de la ville et sur le port, le petit déj était varié et excellent. chambre et salle de bain plutôt petites, mais bien suffisant pour une nuit... Avantage de l'emplacement près des rues piétonnes et donc grand calme!

Il y a juste un problème d'accès par un escalier raide (quand on est chargé, c'est sportif). Il faut laisser la voiture sur le port, mais ce n'est pas un vrai problème et bien d'autres hébergements sont dans ce cas...

Mooi hotel in oudere setting, maar toch nieuwer dan je op het eerste zicht zou denken. Rustig gelegen. Zelfs met 's nachts de ramen open een stille locatie. Heeft voor de rest alles dat het moet hebben

The location is impeccable, so close to so many things! The view is lovely, nice small town. I didn't pay to have breakfast included but when I checked out around 6am the staff gave me a free sandwich, much appreciated.

When I arrived, I asked the available staff to help me organise transport to my next stop and they said "we'll do it later". Ended up having to figure it out on my own.
