Beautiful location, large rooms and friendly staff.

Food was served cold at dinner, breakfast was average, television in the room didn’t work, bars at the swimming pools shut at 630 pm and the bed wasn’t comfortable.

È stata un’esperienza fantastica dall’inizio alla fine. Siamo stati accolti con grande calore e attenzione: il personale è sempre stato estremamente gentile, disponibile e servizievole. Abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo i piccoli dettagli, dal drink di benvenuto alle cartoline, fino alla salvietta calda offerta all’arrivo, particolarmente gradita dopo una giornata di pioggia. Anche la gestione dei bagagli è stata impeccabile, sia all’arrivo sia al momento del check-out. Siamo rimasti piacevolmente sorpresi dall’upgrade che ci ha permesso di soggiornare in una splendida villa con piscina privata. La camera era semplicemente meravigliosa, con un bagno molto spazioso, una grande vasca e una doccia che fungeva anche da bagno turco. Abbiamo apprezzato moltissimo anche i prodotti alla cannella, il minibar molto ben fornito e le attenzioni speciali, come lo champagne con la frutta e tutto il necessario per un aperitivo direttamente in camera. Un servizio davvero eccellente anche grazie alla chat personale su WhatsApp, disponibile 24 ore su 24, che rendeva ogni richiesta estremamente semplice e veloce. Il resort è bellissimo: piscine spettacolari, spiaggia splendida, giardini curatissimi e una struttura mantenuta con grande attenzione. Abbiamo apprezzato molto anche la zona bar, con il biliardo e i libri, che rende l’atmosfera ancora più piacevole e rilassata. Il servizio a bordo piscina è stato notevole, con addirittura tre asciugamani a persona. Molto bella anche la palestra. Ottimo anche il cibo e semplicemente eccezionale la colazione, molto abbondante e con una scelta incredibile di piatti ordinabili. Nel complesso, un resort curato in ogni dettaglio e capace di offrire un livello di ospitalità davvero raro.

Absolutely everything. One of the best hotels and rooms we’ve ever stayed at. Location was stunning. Service and food was amazing. Rooms were fabulous. Honestly was fantastic.

Only 2 minor things 1) In Aug the mosquitos were quite bad. Wearing repellent is absolutely necessary especially at night. But it didn’t ruin our stay - just something to be aware of 2) The dinner menu for younger children is a little fancy - if your kids are fussy. Food though as mentioned was amazing

The villa was very spacious and had all facilities including a steam room. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, service was excellent and our requests were accommodated. All staff from the restaurant, housekeeping, front office, pool were exceptional.

Everything was amazing! The service was next level and everyone couldn’t help you enough. Was so relaxing and the kids loved the forest school and star gazing. Food was superb! Had the best time.

Este é o hotel com os melhores funcionários onde já estive. Definitivamente que são a alma do hotel. Desde os funcionários da receção, dos restaurantes/ bares e os empregados de limpeza, foram todos 5 estrelas. As instalações também são espetaculares. O quarto é muito bem decorado e limpo, o ginásio muito bem equipado e as piscinas incríveis.

A comida no restaurante Atlas e nos bares da piscina e praia está claramente abaixo da qualidade do resto do hotel, especialmente pelo preço que se paga.

A very beautiful hotel, very calm and peaceful. The staff is very attentive and did everything to ensure our stay went well. The beach is semi-private, which makes it very pleasant. The hotel offers several facilities. The view from the restaurant is incredible.

Die Zimmer sind riesig und sehr schön eingerichtet. Das Essen ist sehr gut und wird auch sehr schön präsentiert. Es gibt kein Frühstücksbuffet, sondern man bestellt a la Carte. Man kann soviel bestellen wie man möchte. Der Mondpool ist sehr hübsch angelegt und man hat eine tolle Aussicht aufs Meer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, Davinda ist besonders hervorzuheben. Das Gym ist auch gut ausgestattet. Das Resort ist ganz ruhig gelegen und für Erholungssuchende der perfekte Ort.

Der Strand war sehr klein und nicht besonders gut zum Baden. Wenn man ein paar Schritte weiterlauft hat es einen besseren Strand.

We had a wonderful holiday at Cape Weligama. Our villa was beautiful and always wonderfully clean and perfectly prepared.. All of the staff were extremely friendly, responsive and flexible. Andjana, Ranga and Vipul were all a pleasure to meet down at the Beach Cove, as were all the staff in the cocktail bar and Atlas restaurant. Finally, Devandi and the general Manager were very attentive and if ever there was a small problem they were immediately dealt with. We will definitely return again in future.

The location was beautiful and the staff super friendly. Our butler/ contact person Salman was exceptionally good. Totally accessible and responsive and great. The staff were all great too. We loved it.

My only very minor gripe was the coffee machine was a bit temperamental. Hardly a major issue. There really is not much to complain about at all

it’s a bit hilly so lot of walking up and down steps club cars are available and arrive pretty quickly and this is the worst thing I can say about cape Weligama

The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views that make the stay truly special. The resort itself is beautifully designed and very well maintained. The restaurants were excellent, offering delicious food throughout our stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive, and they made everything feel effortless. They helped us with bookings and reservations very smoothly, and even the drivers arranged for experiences outside the resort were trustworthy, kind, and extremely helpful. Overall, the service, atmosphere, and experience were outstanding. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Sri Lanka for the first time.

Die Anlage ist wunderschön, das Personal sehr freundlich. das Essen war sehr gut und auswahlreich für Gäste die gerne Fisch und Kurustentiere essen, Für mich als Vegetarier war die Auswahl eher bescheiden. Was uns ins Auge gestochen ist, war der Preis für die Suppen. 18 und 20 Dollar für eine Gemüsecreme. Als Schweizer sind wir uns hohe Preise gewohnt, eine so teure Suppe ist aber sicher selbst in der Schweiz selten zu finden.

Beim Einchcken mussten wir die Nummer unseres Mibiltelefons angeben. Kaum im Zimmer, erhielt ich von einem Reisebüro eine ganze Menge Whatsap-Meldungen. Das heisst, dass das Hotel meine Nummer an ein Reisebüre weitergegeben hat. Das ist etwas, das ich in keiner Weise billigen kann!

Great location, beautiful nature and surroundings, wonderful staff (very kind, attentive, polite), very spacious and comfortable rooms, Forest School (kids’ club) is a great idea and the staff there is wonderful, swimming pools are very nice, the beach club has a nice vibe.

Food is mediocre but overpriced, staff (while lovely) needs significant amount of training to meet 5-star resort standards, there was unbearable noise every day mid-day coming from the loading dock next to our room which should have been better handled by the management, then they decide to cut the grass with a noisy machine right next to the swimming pool.

My time at Cale Weligama was exceptional from start to finish. The room was remarkably spacious, and designed with a sense of calm luxury that made it effortless to unwind. What truly distinguished my stay, however, was the level of service. The concierge team was outstanding, consistently attentive without ever being intrusive. A heartfelt thank you to Brenden, who was an absolute standout. He anticipated my needs with such ease that it felt as though he was thinking on my behalf, allowing me to simply relax and savour the beauty of the hotel.

There isn’t one single thing that I can think of.

Connecting the smart tv applications was disabled so the kids couldn’t watch. The entrance is a bit deceiving - it looks very simple. Only when you get to the Villa you see the great luxury of the place.

Disappointed by the food

This resort is next level, from friendliness of staff, quality and options in dining choices, we were privileged to be upgraded to a pool villa that was simply huge and stunning and on our last day were given a late checkout that exceeded expectations. Our only disappointment is that we have to leave however we will definitely be back. Thank you Shan and team for such an enjoyable stay.

High-quality establishment. The villa we stayed in was spacious, very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The views from the restaurant were stunning, as were the various viewing points around the hotel grounds.

We weren’t told ahead of our booking that the accessible beaches, and the beach bar by the family pool would be closed (the former due to it being rough seas and the latter because it was undergoing reconstruction).

Wonderful place with spacious rooms and plenty of swimming pools. Shame can't visit the beach whilst we were there. But the spa make up for it. Mega and her colleague are both wonderful therapists. Breakfast french toast is th best I've had.

We had the most unforgettable stay at Cape Weligama while celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality stood out — and to our surprise, we were upgraded to a stunning luxury villa room with the breathtaking beach view & pool. 🌊🌴 Every detail felt thoughtful — from the anniversary cake to the little celebratory touches that made us feel truly special. The staff made us feel less like guests and more like part of their story. It’s rare to find a place that balances luxury with genuine care. This one does it beautifully. Can’t wait to return — with a few more reasons to celebrate! 💙

View, gardens and tranquility

No beach access

This is the most beautiful resort we have ever stayed with. The views are amazing, the food is delicious and abundant. The bar area has a gorgeous old world feel to it. The rooms are huge and perfectly appointed. I cannot rate this resort high enough, wish we had stayed longer!

Exceptional stay! staff were amazing.

When we arrived with two adults and 2 kids in a suite we were surprised to find a large room however very dark. The staff and in particular the front office manager Udith were super in addressing the issue and relocating to me to a superior room for most of the stay. I think it related to the allocation of families with kids next to the kids pool but that wasnt what we were looking for as our kids are a little older than those in baby pools. Rest of the facilities were amazing. the property and the breakfast were top notch. As well as the early Yoga sessions with monkeys overhead :)

Other than the dark room which we moved out of the only thing i can say I didnt like was the cost of the food which was very expensive. We had lunch there once but other than a few drinks, didnt eat there again. There were also many smaller issues with the rooms which had to be sorted my maintenance. Safe and Door lock not working, one of the overhead fans and at one point the Wifi. But they were all fixed pretty promptly.

What a view! The moon pool is stunning! The Forrest school for the kids is perfect as they learn a lot vs traditional kids club. The breakfast is up to Relais and Chateaux standards with a view over the Ocean. We also experimented the SPA and the quality of the treatment was excellent. I would come back and highly recommend it for couples or family with kids.

Best time with my little family. So quaint, so relaxed, so easy and unpretentious. Everything was lovely, especially the staff.

Very calm and peaceful. The people who work there are very nice and friendly. They gave us an extra upgrade, so we had our own villa with pool. We love this place with the wonderful garden and animals.

Apart from food and beverage prices. I only have small things / suggestions rather than not liking about the property. Surf board rental would be good. Having cold coconuts rather than warm ones. Fix steps that have been washed away to the pretty west beach.

Wonderful villas with so much space. Excellent staff and service. We loved the wildlife and waking up to see peacocks at breakfast and monitor lizards and monkeys to entertain us. Stunning views and lovely watching the surfers on the beach from the clip top position of the hotel

Nothing. My only comment would be that it wasn’t clear that you could walk down to the beach (perhaps because it’s a public beach with quite strong surf).

An immaculate resort. Fantastic food, service and facilities. We have been before and will certainly come again.

First of all, every member of staff tried their very best to make our stay memorable.Special mention to Nissanka and Devindas who went out of their way to accommodate our request. Secondly, the villas were extremely large and comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the large covered patio and garden / pool area.

No private beach, it's a small shared beach with the public. Luckily, very few public visitors.

The beach area was too small.

The resort is gorgeous, the garden is beautiful, nicely maintained, with many pools (all with warm water) and also the beach is very nice (no big waves so you can enjoy swimming). Steambath was great in the shower. The staff was very kind and professional, we got a free upgrade upon arrival to the best room of the resort with a great view and a private pool. There was unlimited water supply in the room. Breakfast was amazing, so many choices and very delicious. There is a beautiful view on the ocean from the restaurant and bar.

Beautiful location, private feeling villas within nature surroundings of the resort, fantastic comfort and facilities, brilliant staff who went out of their say to make my stay comfortable and organised many excursions, fantastic spa treatments with Mega, and complimentary yoga, brilliant organisation for my stay by Davinda my direct contact team member and Samantha who drove me to all my excursions and went above and beyond to organise authentic and personal touches to make these outings fabulous, I look forward to returning I cannot recommend more
