Nice hotel in the centre of the town. Bar and food were great. The courtyard was a lovely bonus, as was the pool.
Not air-conditioned and therefore was very warm
Staff were amazing literally the town is next to the hotel cooked breakfast was stunning
Room and location very good.
Staff not over friendly.
Staff are very helpful and position is good.
Lovely building but needs money spending on it to bring it up to standard. Tired. Needs air conditioning in all rooms too.
Friendly staff, room was comfy albeit no aircon but fan worked well. Nice bathroom.
Nothing
No soundproofing. Kept awake all night by noise from adjacent rooms.
Lovely clean room in a great location
Breakfast was a let down. Good choice of cereal, jam toast etc but the hot buffet items were disappointing. The bacon was hard and rubbery, eggs hard and baked beans unappealing and stodgy.
Beautiful, large room. Very enjoyable stay.
The breakfast could be fresher, the hot food was quite dry, the potatoes were undercooked, the milk and butter was warm and the pastries were soggy. The breakfast was ok but not great.
Great hotel. Glad we stayed there
Not happy that they charge you for parking in their car park when you are a staying guest.
Excellent staff Location close to all amenities
None
Hotel was just right for our requirements, good value and in the centre of Chippenham so good for italian restuarant opposite and shops--we stayed for two nights whilst attending wedding nearby
The property, main building ,is very old,so decor not great and room lacked air con so quite warm at night
The hotel is a pleasant old coaching house. Rooms are large and comfortable, however, with no Aircon a little warm in the hot weather
Location, old fashioned but well mai tained.
Price was high.
Location
Room allocated had no view and the hotel generally seemed very warm
Good location. We stayed one night. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable, everything we needed. Highly recomended!
Lovely stay, thanks.
Very convenient for an event close by
The staff were very indifferent and lacking direction from someone in charge.
location

Great central location. Good breakfast. Pretty gardens. Comfortable room.

Clean and comfortable, as usual
Guest breakfasts not possible as so many "walk ins" had already been accepted. This was at 9.00am, with an hour still to go on service. Despite having booked a breakfast room rate, we sought alternatives.
Location was great
Service was average and in some cases sadly poor.
The new bit looked nice and the grounds outside were pretty.
Our room was really hot (Langley rm) with just one fan to keep cool. The bed sheet had rips in it. The corridor outside the room smelt of damp/mould. Whoever painted the room did a terrible job - there were splatters of paint everywhere and the door frame had been partially painted the wrong colour. There weren’t any UK sockets by the bed. The room (and whole hotel) was dirty with dust on the skirting board and door panels and cobwebs in the ceiling. When we sat down to have a drink in the bar, the entire couch was covered in crumbs. At breakfast they ran out of bacon and eggs so people were standing around waiting.
comfortable room, nice staff
Good location and a lovely hotel
No facilities in the room coffee or tea making facilities
Staff were pleasant , it was functional
I asked for a quiet room and it was noisy, lots of different noises particularly in the morning with corners basking around and hoovering loudly.
Location
Room was a little dark
Me and my family had a great stay. Flew to the area for a funeral, the hotels space and different areas accommodated us all wonderfully, the court yard was a lovely space and breakfast was tasty with plenty on offer
Breakfast was a good varied selection, and breakfast staff friendly , Hotel is in a good location with ample parking, room has tea/coffee facilities along with Iron and safe
Although booked in advance , i was given a room for wheel chair users, so the sink was at knee level ,there was a rusting chair in the shower ,and the handle on the toilet was broken , when asked if any other rooms were available was told no the hotel was fully Booked , i checked myself on their own web site to find rooms still available for the night . i was only staying 1 night so made do with the room , but will not be staying here again , as a side note there is no air conditioning in any of the hotel rooms ,my room had a free standing electric fan that was in need of a good clean
Road signage helped me to find the hotel, car park with a "disabled" parking bay, found that this (impressive) entrance was at the BACK (!) of the hotel as the front opens onto a pedestrianised street. Offerred a room on the second floor (no lift) but "Mine Host" was nearby and changed me immediately to a ground floor near the rear entrance (No I had not complained!). Room was a "complimentary upgrade", pity that the excellent illuminating mirror in the bathroom was fitted so high (and I am 5foot7 inches), pity that the table/beaureau was loosing its venear trim; GOOD that the excellent oscillating floor-standing fan was so silent that it could stay on through the hot and sticky (August) night. Breakfast (mine was Continental) was good and value for money.
Mirror in bathroom was too high.
Amazing had a great stay
Nothing
the staff were very good
our tea making milk was not renewed and cups were not cleaned and replace and breakfast with eggs being left to go hard and bacon also hard and plates very small not good all round
Not a lot. A wedding going on until 01.40 didn’t help me sleep.
Very poor food in restaurant. Old and overcooked, probably been lying around for ages. Not acceptable in a hotel of this standing.
Good location, nice hotel with great facilities.
Vicino a molte zone attrattive.
It looked ok from the outside but was very tired inside.
Very tired. No hot water on the Sunday. Very disappointing considering it was an expensive hotel.
Self service
The dispenser holders in the bedrooms for shower gel were grubby. Tiles in the shower need cleaning
Good location and the room was confortable.
Food was not great and was expensive.
Everything!
Dust on the fan in.our room but the room itself and the bathroom were very clean.

Lovely breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool and gym were great. Big comfy bed and bathtub.
No complaints.
Pleasant hotel, nice room, comfortable bed, and friendly staff. I did not eat there except for breakfast, which was fine on the Saturday, but on Sunday morning the croissants were stale. I did not have a car with me but people should be aware they charge £7.50 a day for parking, which when you have paid over £160 per night for B&B just seems an unpleasant add on.
Stayed for the weekend 1st room was very very small and very dirty asked to be move and our next room was fine except it was still quite dusty and could have done with a good thorough clean breakfast fine waiting staff could have been happier doing their job garden lovely except we had to clear tables ourselves take glasses back to bar where /staff were looking bored ,if they were my staff I would have not been happy when the tables were very untidy in the garden our lunch plates were still there when we left the hotel that evening ,asked for a taxi the next morning one girl was playing on her mobile and the other never acknowledged us unable to get a taxi think management need a meeting !!
Eten was prima
Smerige kamer en ramen die al eeuwen niet schoongemaakt zijn. Geen enkele dag is de kamer opgemaakt. Foutieve factuur, koude douche, verrotte kozijnen, geen airco.
Excellent location and good facilities
Extra charge for parking, communication of staff at reception sub par
Stayed here several times now. Ideally situated in the town centre, on site parking, nice seating area for the bar outside, plenty of pubs in the town.
Depending on the room, some beds can be a little more uncomfortable than others.
il giardinetto interno la sera: molto tranquillo
la camera era caldissima, senza condizionatore. Migliorabile la pulizia del bagno
Nice town centre location, modern, clean and comfortable facilities. Dog friendly. Good menu and lovely staff.
Good location, god parking and friendly staff

The location is perfect ,very easy to get around the town as is in the centre ,the rooms are very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable
At breakfast the bacon ran out and was told they wouldn’t be replenishing ,other than that no complaints
Reception poor; staff just didn’t really care. Arrived 9.10pm after long journey. No food at all available. Advice as to where to eat was very poor No air conditioning in stiflingly hot room.
Good location, friendly staff, nice courtyard.
Old building, rabbit warren of stairs. Ridiculously hot and no air conditioning
A nice hotel I loved the courtyard garden
Very nice Hotel, great location, plenty of on site parking but could do with a little more information on how to locate the parking site. Breakfast was really good and the Garden area was very nice.
With the current climate changes Air conditioning should be considered. The room was extremely warm and the fan supplied didn't really have much effect
Town centre location, but wasn’t noisy at night. Large, comfortable rooms. Off-street parking connected to hotel - particularly useful as we had accessibility needs.
Directions to parking were only provided after arrival, would have been easier to go directly there.
We have just returned from yet another lovely stay at The Angel Hotel, we have stayed there several times and we can't praise the Hotel enough. We went with my Daughter and Husband who also enjoyed it very much. We book with Great Little Breaks two nights offer. The Hotel is in a great location at the top of a beautiful Market town with many good shops, and a stones throw from Bus Station where you can get a bus to the must see Bath and other locations. The room are very nice a good size with comfortable Beds and lovely Bathroom. The first night offers, include a Meal and bottle, my son in law and myself had the most amazing dinner that can only be described as Fine Dinning! the presentation and taste was great, the other guests had a good meal also. My Thanks as always go to Sherrie on Reception for always looking after us as I always request a certain room. all the staff and Manager are very friendly, it has a lovely lounge area and a bar if you need a drink. we are looking forward to our next trip, as its a guaranteed lovely break in a very pretty market town.
Good location, easy to park, comfy bed, helpful staff, reasonable space in room ( we have had more space on previous visits on the same class of room )
The room was quite awkward with low beams, the shower sideways onto the bath wasnt great. Breakfast wasnt the best we have had , coisants were not fresh, very limited choice of fruit. Didnt try the cooked...too hot!
Bien en general la recepción bien
Me hicieron pagar la cena antes de servirmela eso me molestó
Good room. Hotel is lovely building
I thought for the price there might be air con in room.....Hard to keep room cool, even with fan on. Was hoping car park would be free unclear on Booking.com.) Breakfast a bit expensive, and not great (orange juice from concentrate? Coffee from auto machine
Great stay the staff were fantastic
Great location
Great location, comfortable and quiet. Very capable and friendly staff
Car park expensive for guests
The hotel is located in the city centre, making transport and getting around very convenient. The room is quite spacious, but compared to the hotel’s facilities and comfort level, the weekend price is really a bit expensive!
Appearance with courtyard and old building blended with new felt like being abroad.
Room smelt horrible but aired it and once personal fragrances used, we didn't notice.
Clean. Spacious. Comfortable. Asked for a ground floor room situated close to designated smoking areas due to mobility issues and the room was so perfect I could of literally climbed out the room window into the smoking area
Nothing.
Right in the centre of local amenities. Near the station The architecture, & Decor Staff were friendly, polite, & helpful

Excellent value! Great location, very comfortable and convenient. We loved the spacious, well-equipped room and the patio. Lovely breakfast.
I stayed at the Best Western Angel Hotel in Chippingham on the 27th of June for one night. Upon arrival, a staff member was helpful in giving us initial directions, but her instructions were a bit confusing, and she didn’t smile much, which made it awkward to ask for clarification. After parking, we had to wheel our suitcases about 20-30 yards through the garden area to reception and once inside, there were a couple of steps, so we had to lift them then all the way back then to our room. The room was on the ground floor and, while okay, it was quite dated. The windows could open wide with no safety locks, so we felt a bit unsafe. There was no air conditioning, just a fan which made a clicking noise when it turned, so at night we had to keep the fan locked on still (no rotating) it was a very hot day. In the morning, after I showered, my cousin was mid-shower when the water pressure dropped completely—she couldn’t rinse out her conditioner. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown, especially given the heat and basic safety expectations.
Location and facilities
Expensive @ £179
The location in the centre of Chippenham and the courtyard garden. As there was a heatwave at the time of our stay, there was a nice touch of free water made available to passersby. The Receptionist (Sherri) was exceptional in the face of a difficult morning.
I had expected a characterful propery based on the photo's on Booking.com. Instead, our room was in a seperate building overlooking the car park which could have been any bland corporate hotel room anywhere. The windows were not clean and the window frames were in serious need of maintenance. In addition, it was stifling hot (see above comments re heatwave) and although a fan had been provided, for this price I would have expected airconditioning. On our final morning there was a problem with the water supply meaning we could not shower or use the bathroom at all (for which a 20% refund was given on one night of our stay). Breakfast was a very average buffet, the dining room boring and gloomy with unwashed windows.
The staff were nice, the room was clean and on ground floor for my disabled husband.
For a disabled room the wet room was ok but you had small low chairs in the room my husband had to sit in his wheelchair for 2 nights. Not acceptable. You need a tall chair with arms to help people who struggle to get up and sit down.
Everything
Nothing
The lower floor and gardens are well thought out and an attractive area.
Rooms in the older section of the hotel are dated and have poor ventilation.
Take care you register your car! This place is in need of an overhaul, not just the building but the management too. Staff are only as good as their training. Not to be blamed for their inability to do their jobs, as they are not trained. Shame on you management.
The restaurant was near empty in a town that was rammed. Every other restaurant was booked out. Make sure you take all your belongings. Within a half hour of check out, forgotten items in a drawer had gone missing!
Great staff , friendly and meal was very nice

Good location. Helpful reception staff. Easy parking. Swimming pool.
We were put in the old building, 2nd floor up, but when we entered the room, it was small, cramped, smelt and we couldn't even open the window....bearing in mind it was 34 degrees and we had a dog. She panted as soon as we walked in. I asked to change and was given a ground floor room in the new part of the building. This was much bigger and cooler, and had a fan....a godsend! The receptionist was great ang helpful. Room 105 was very noisey though. Next to the main door and another main door to the other block! Both spring back!! Just a warning.
Excellent location, comfortable big room, helpful staff, good breakfast
Nothing. in the middle of an exceptional heatwave would have loved aircon, but they did provide a fan
Awesome location. Literally is THE CENTER of the town. The car park was very good value for money at only £7.50 for 24 hours. Room was ok. It's a three star hotel that is also trying to be a restaurant, pub and community hub by the looks of things. Overall, chippenham isn't well served for hotels - so this is probably about what you'd expect. Not amazing but not terrible either.
The room was in a separate side building, had to walk through a beer garden to get to it - bit weird but, not terrible. It could have used a bit of a repaint and new windows. Bit tired and old fashioned. Holes in skirting boards, marks on the door. Wish it had a fridge. The lack of aircon was brutal though. There was a good fan, which I was glad of because it was 25 degrees when we stayed - but any hotter than this and I can tell it'd get uncomfortable at night. Bit pricey for what it was - but it was the last room available and there was a folk festival event on which I think jacked the price a bit.
Location was good . Staff friendly . Access was fairly easy .
No lifts although we did have ground floor room but stairs would have been tricky . Heating was either full on or off no temp regulation and no aircon. Limited complimentary milk tea coffee . Bed a bit lumpy.
Location great - in the centre of town. Simple standard room but clean and very comfortbale bed. Good linen. Parking is £7 for overnight stay, which is reasonable for centre of town. Pool area looked clean and was mostly empty.
Receptionist not very welcoming. Quite grumpy and felt like we were putting her out when we checked in.
Had a two night Great Little Breaks stay at this hotel recently. First impressions were good. Checked in by a friendly, helpful receptionist. The hotel is situated in the centre of the lovely town of Chippenham. The railway station was a 15 minute walk (uphill) and from there it was easy to get to Bristol and Bath. Our room was spacious but there were no drawers, even though there was plenty of space to put a chest of drawers. The exterior of the window was extremely dirty. The room was very dusty. Nice garden area but the garden furniture needed replacing. Breakfast was average. Greasy bacon, overcooked fried eggs and very little fresh fruit. Our biggest issue with the hotel, however, was cleanliness throughout. It could be a lovely hotel if more attention was paid to cleaning and food served.
Location in the centre of town is great. The courtyard is very pleasant to sit in.
Management blamed inexperienced staff for some of the issues we encountered. We feel this was unfair on them. They clearly had not had the training and supervision from management to do their jobs. Very evident was in the bar/dining areas. Due to large events in the area, the hotel was at full capacity. However, the bar and restaurant were very quiet. We were still on two nights of our three nights of our stay turned away from ordering food. Firstly rudely told, despite, observing others ordering and being served food in the lounge, we could not eat in there....there were menus on the table. The second night that they had stopped serving. Although the manager pursued us as we walked towards a very busy but welcoming and accommodating restaurant metres from the hotel to apologize to us by blaming his staff, the whole experience left us very disappointed. The room was ok. A cleaning issue resolved quickly but it was tired, in need of fundamental maintenance, the windows rotten, the floor in the shower felt unsupported when standing in the shower. The bed had been badly fixed at some stage too.

The staff were extremely helpful and the location of the hotel was very convenient for us. Beautiful building and lovely garden area too.
Just home from a lovely Great Little Break at this hotel. Good location-Walking distance from train and bus station with ample on site parking. Clean, comfortable room with brilliant shower., and pleasant outside courtyard area, and a spotless pool. Very obliging and friendly staff, but best of all was the amazing restaurant dinner! The food was absolutely faultless and anyone who ate elsewhere missed a real treat. It was good quality, beautifully presented food and completely delicious. Would highly recommend and Can’t wait to go back!!
I liked the room, which was huge, both bathroom and actual room. Staff has been lovely, I ve asked for an early check in because my best friend was getting married at 12 and didnt have a place to change; I let them know and they managed to check me in at 10.30 which has been an absolute blessing. Everything was perfect.
No elevators so it is a little tricky to carry your stuff up and down those steep stairs. Some dust on the window curtains. The whole room is kind of dark and has just a small window I had to close because of construction workers on the opposite building
The room size was good, but that's about it.
Where to Start? The room was dirty, paint was flaking, and the general level of cleanliness was quite poor. We booked a superior room as this was a weekend getaway with the wife. The room was bigger - that was it! There was no chest of drawers to put clothes, just one tiny wardrobe. The Fitness Centre was very very limited 5 rusty machines and that was it. The much vaunted swimming pool is tiny, and most of the time it was full of children. The breakfast was poor and tasteless, and the food was recycled from the day before, stale pastries and a very limited selection. The most annoying thing was that we had to pay an additional £15 for the car park (on top of the £185 per night) which on the first evening was full due to a function. They agreed to refund the car park - but this didn't happen. Very disappointed with this hotel - don't bother staying there are much better options in the area.
Bra beliggenhet! God frokost i fine lokaler!
Vifta på badet gikk hele tiden, opplevdes støyende.
Not much staff was friendly though
Not clean at all in my room.
Staff were friendly
Big spider in my pillow case. Moth in my room. Buzzing noise every few minutes. I checked out after 30 minutes
Location
Food - breakfast in particular and unhelpful with food in bar area
Little Easter break. Chippenham town was rubbish so drove out to a national trust house. Hotel staff especially evening staff helpful. All lager was off with poor substitutes in bottles. Went to the Italian restaurant over from hotel was fantastic. Room clean single beds put together left a hard ridge mattress topper and sheet came off. Breakfast good, coffee in machine Luke warm. £7.50 car park charge!
