JUST FANTASTIC
NOTHING
Dinner options were good, standard pub fare. We had fish and chips. The batter was a bit too crispy, for our liking, but otherwise good.
Well run, great food, helpful staff
Very friendly staff , good choice and quality food and service in restaurant , lovely grade 2 listed building
Maybe an extra shelf or storage for toiletries ,
Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. Ate in the restaurant which was very nice, the food was good and reasonably priced. Overall a really good stay.
No cask beer on.
We had dinner the first night which was good. The wine was a little pricey. There was a lift which is an extra that we appreciate at our age. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable although the windows were in need of a good paint. The bathroom could do with an upgrade.
We had continental breakfast which was rather lacking in choice. There were no croissants the first two days and on the last day there were only chocolate croissants. The toaster was complicated to use and took 4 minutes to properly toast the bread. It would have been nice to have more choice of bread (white & brown sliced) and perhaps some cheese and ham.
Rooms were very comfortable Staff very friendly Food all freshly cooked & very tasty
Checking in was chaotic. A Sunday afternoon with others checking in and only person on the desk (after moving from the bar). Rooms were then misallocated and a room had to be vacated before midnight due to your error.
Check in
Great proximity to Cadwell Park track. Great staff.
All great, nice big rooms, nice and clean, all good.
Nothing, all great.
Mouldy windows and smelly
Room was spacious and very clean with plenty of storage space and Bed was comfortable
Nice size rooms and very good quality ‘pub’ food.
The creaky floors in the bedroom
Friendly welcome. Checkin and checkout was efficient. Most of breakfast decent. Room fairly comfortable.
Definitely could be so much better. Restaurant staff are friendly enough but need training. We ordered red and white wine and both bottles were plonked on the table unopened. The white wine wasn’t cold. When we challenged this we were told that they had run out of chilled! Breakfast was decent but the baked beans were horrible. Tea didn’t turn up until halfway through breakfast after several reminders.
Spacious rooms, good bar and eating area, good parking facilities
All of the staff were very friendly & welcoming apart from one behind the bar, she must have had a bad day lasting a week, think she’s needs to change her job
Great location, lovely atmosphere, amazing food, good size room and lovely and clean. Friendly welcoming staff.

Noting
Very warm welcome by the receptionist. Lovely room, great breakfast and evening meal
Nothing
Nice old /new coaching hotel with some old features still visible.
Nothing to not like about the place. Not the hotels problem but no taxis available in horncastle after 5 pm hotel could do well if they provided transport after 5 to local venues
Easy check in, easy parking, friendly staff, nice breakfast. There wasFriendly note from housekeeping and the radio wason when we arrived. Nice touch.
Room was very warm despite Fan. Bathroom was somewhat cramped and the shower was awkward to operate and delivered a Very powerful jet of water which was uncomfortable.
The rooms are well equipped with all toiletries, hairdryer, iron etc, the beds are super comfy, there is ample parking and the breakfasts are delicious with many options to suit your taste.
The rooms could get rather warm on particularly hot days without air conditioning.
Dog friendly. Great staff and restaurant
Staff were lovely and so welcoming and the food was exceptional
We requested a quiet room but the loud music coming from downstairs could be heard very loudly in our room until 11.15pm
We stayed the night and seven of us had an evening meal, food was good, the staff were great very happy and always happy to help. It was a Saturday night and it was busy. Again the staff in the (Same people) were very good and helpful and the breakfast was good.
I booked all the reservations for the group, One couple had room 207 and the bathroom and toilet where very tight and not a great experience, In the morning one of my family showed me brown stains on the base sheet, not up to normal standard as having stayed at the Rodney three times. Great to see you had Hawkstone on tap
Staff , main areas
Room itself smelt & felt damp
Convenient location, good parking
Breakfast was good, I opted for the full English which was okay but I think the sausage and black pudding were quite bland. The food was well presented on the plate and everything was cooked perfectly. There were croissants, bread, yoghurts, fruit etc which you could help yourself to so that was a nice touch. On the whole it was really quite good. I would definately stay here again.
Our room was fairly small and only had a small double bed, we are used to a super king size at home so this was a little disappointing. The room was on the 3rd floor and owing to the weather being really hot, this was unbearable at night. there was a small fan in the room which did little more than circulate the hot air in the room. Worst nights sleep I have ever had in a hotel. The next night was far cooler so we actually slept really well on the 2nd night.
The thoughtfulness of the staff .the curtains were closed and fan on .It was lovely and cool .
The menu has been cut down . Beautiful food but sometimes I struggle as I can’t do spice or onions . I should have asked but wasn’t sure if changes could be made
Well presented and convenient for most things.
Not enough to comment .
It’s always our first choice for a hotel when visiting that area . Never been disappointed and we have stayed a few times .
Everything, room great everything you need. Bed very comfortable, bathroom / shower excellent and very clean. Brilliant cooked full English breakfast to top it all off. Sad to leave could have stopped a few more nights.
Excellent breakfasts.
Disappointed no walk in showers available. Also only one bedside light in the room.
Very quirky and beautiful rooms
Great value, large comfortable clean room. Nice breakfast.
I’d prefer a better shower. And although it didn’t affect us witnessed slow service.
Breakfast was adequate, nicely cooked and presented. Staff very helpful.
Location, staff, comfortable bedroom and food delicious
Nothing
Very comfortable room
Dirty window frames
Room was very comfortable and well stocled
There was nothing unlikeable
The character, the food and the quiet rear beer garden.
Creaky floorboards are part of the character of these older buildings, but in my room every board creaked. I hope it didn’t disturb other guests. Also, I found the guest Wi-Fi was very temperamental and weak at times.
The facilities were all good
The rooms were very warm due to the weather, there was a fan in the room that was needed and windows open but due to this was quite noisy as we were road facing.
Room excellent Flagship suite. Good breakfast. Staff great even maintenance man help to carry cases upstairs
All good need to replenish yoghurts and bread for those having a later time breakfast
Property was warm and welcoming di
A lot of animosity between staff Service very slow waited over 20-minutes for drinks Waiting over an hour for breakfast I am diabetic and was told far too busy for a sandwich.
The staff has been very kind Room clean and well equipped Excellent breakfast and dinner at the hotel
Spot on from start to finish, very pet friendly and we were catered to brilliantly. The evening meal was outstanding and the room itself was charming and clean. Dog bed and bowl were supplied for our furry companion and treats too !
Friendly staff, comfy furniture, good location
There were not enough staff in the restaurant as they were trying to look after the bar and the restaurant. The bar was very busy as a wedding was also taking place.. we waited over 2 hours for our meal, which is not acceptable. Management should have provided more cover, as they would have known in advance that it would be busy
Beautiful and relaxing
Staff falling out Really poor service with food & drinks
Nice location, very helpful staff. Particulars mention to Millie and Ruth who were great.

Having stayed previously we really like the room size , decor , room amenities and cleanliness, The location is perfect for us as close to Woodhall spa and 40 minutes into skegness.and we consider it good value for money with good quality food if you choose to have breakfast or dinner
There was a large group dining on sunday evening and even though we booked for dinner when we checked in and it wasn't particularly full except for the large group andxa handful of tables the service was very slow and staffs attention was focused on the group. Similarly in the morning you were left stood for some time before being shown to your table fir breakfast despite the dining area not being very busy . Staff were polite and friendly but not very attentive.
Building had character.
Bar staff who didn’t appear to be enjoying their work. Not too welcoming.
Evening meal and breakfast was excellent
Staff and food
The restaurant food was lovely and breakfast..The room was comfortable..The staff were really nice..
You could hear the traffic outside..you could hear people walking around upstairs..
This was very central and easy to get about the local area plus there was a decent car park and all the staff we met were friendly and helpful
It was a very hot day and because the room was small we could not sleep. The hotel did provide a fan but this wasn't enough - I think it would be worth it for them to install aircon for the future.
Quiet location and good parking in the centre .
Breakfast could of been earlier on the Sunday.
Breakfast was lovely good selection. Location was excellent only 10 minutes from caddwell park race circuit. Food was excellent and good selection.
Everything was excellent no dislikes
Really everything

Car park is great and has CCTV , hotel has a good feeling every time I visit , which is why I always come back. Staff are very polite and funny. Food is exceptional, always hot and delivered with a smile.
Dining Tables are sticky , if that could be addressed, then it would be spot on.

Room too hot
Clean, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Very hot room, noisy whenever someone opened door or walked down corridor, plus traffic noise as window had to be left open. In first room allocated shower did not work and door did not lock. Hard to see how that could have been missed. Heatwave, but one fan not really adequate. In both rooms the shower was dripping into the bath noisily.
Staff were excellent as per previous visits. Restaurant was excellent as usual. Location was well chosen. .
Ok, it’s been very hot but to walk into a room with no ac, shocking. What is the cost for a basic air con unit, maybe £200? I’m told every room at a Travel Lodge hotel boasts AC. Come on, step up.
The rooms were well appointed, large and airy with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were well supplied with quality shampoo and shower gel. Breakfast had a wide variety of options both continental and cooked. The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner had a wide variety of options available and the quality of the produce was very good, with generous portion sizes. The chicken wings were exceptional.

The staff were friendly, the ground floor lounge and dining areas were open and airy
Our room was unbearably hot and stuffy It overlooked the car park and the lights shown into the room at night
The decor and ambience of this hotel are really lovely. Our room was comfortable and clean. We had booked an evening meal which was delicious and great service. Breakfast was also really good. We will definately choose to stay thete again when visiting our relatives.
Only thing we were a bit disappointed about was... we had requested aircon or a fan in the room as it was the hottest day of the year 25 June. They put a fan in the room but, it was sqeeking and kept my husband awake, but we needed it on as it was just too hot.
All the staff were professional, kind and helpful. The food, both breakfast and evening meal, was excellent with plenty of choice. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
Staff were welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Roast dinner was 10/10. Cracking outside area for a drink.
The staff were fantastic. The food was very good. 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 evening meal.
Room 217 is very noisy due to traffic. The room was stifling and due to road noise the windows had to be closed. A fan was provided but air-conditioning is required. We have stayed before but not on the front of the hotel. It has put us off staying again.
Good location used many times before and great staff
Live music
Parking. Ambiance. Good sized room and comfortable bed.
Room overlooking courtyard. During hot weather so had to open the badly maintained window for air. Could hear the noise . Could also be seen by guests. Fan in room inadequate
Good but had run out of croissants on first day. Second day all good..
Fantastic base for a couple of days antique hunting. The room was great and the food delicious.
Spacious Family room
WE liked everything from arrival to departure Hannah and her staff are amazing We have been to the Admiral several times now and cannot wait to return The breakfast is excellent and is served to the table to us it is definitely an added bonus It is a beautiful hotel ,Parking is easy, the conservatory is charming ,and the sun terrace is so well situated The hotel is also well situated for the town
Nothing
Location, parking, food, bar, room comfort (superior room)
Nothing off hand
This hotel needs a lot of money spending on renovation it’s tired and tatty, the staff were very friendly and helpful.iwas dissapointed with the price I payed, and would not choose to stay her again.
Lovely rooms, very comfortable bed
Nothing
The decor and quality of furniture were lovely. We were upgraded and our room was beautiful, with a huge bath tub. Great location to explore the pretty town of Horncastle. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. We had a very peaceful night’s sleep.
Nothing!
Been many times and found the staff excellent. Rooms very good with some updating of the en-suite. Food good but possibly need more choice.
Was not happy with the general manager I think Hannah. We brought to her attention the the shaver socket was not working so my wife's toothbrush couldn't be charged up. Her attitude was dismissive and over breakfast she made us feel uncomfortable.
Reception welcoming. Room good size with full amenities. nice dining room. Good choices for breakfast and good portion sizes - excellent service by Ruth. Large carpark at rear. Didn't have dinner but menu looked good and prices for mains generally under pounds20.
Hotel and staff brilliant 👏
We stayed at Admiral Rodney Hotel for 2 nights, our stay was lovely from arrival to leaving. The staff was so friendly especially Emily, Shannon & Aysha. We did notice in places the hotel needs some TLC; however, we did eat in the restaurant and had a lovely meal. The breakfast was really nice as well. Our visit was for as few days away and to visit a few antique shops, some of these were a bit disappointing, but we would recommend The Big Chair Company with some outstanding items also a lovely coffee shop inside.
We think there could be less furniture in the rooms to release space for a bigger bed, ours was a double bedroom but this was on the small side. Also, the rooms needed upgrading ours was a bit dated.
Good location
The bedroom had a foul smell, staff tried to avoid giving another room. Had to point out to them that rooms were available on website
Breakfast and food ok
Room facilities toilet broken and despite complaining it wasn’t fixed
room very good,breakfast very good.
nothing,all went well.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
All of the properties was very good
Location was excellent. Horncastle is a lovely little place and the hotel was at the heart of it. We were in one of the least expensive rooms but the quality of facilities and furnishings was not compromised, we were very impressed. Ample parking, great beer garden at the back of the hotel.
Being at the front of the building on the main route through Horncastle with single glazed windows meant it was a bit noisy from quite early in the morning. Old building also had squeaky floors so were a bit disturbed by the floor above.
A beautiful hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The evening meal was delicious. Perfect night away
I liked all of it.
Lovely hotel staff were so helpful. Loved the choice to go green with the towels and bedding
Breakfast was expensive. And we would need a healthy option. Would have paid for a cheaper healthier choice
The hotel is in a very good location, right in the town centre, with convenient transport links. The room I was given faced the street. It was quite spacious, with a good view and plenty of natural light.
Lovely place spotlessly clean staff very pleasant all in all gr8 stay
Nothing wrong with the hotel onky downside is you can't get a taxi for love nor money. I did suggest the hotel advises guests if they require a taxi the need to pre book & pre pay.
Friendly staff, clean, great location with parking
Room at front was extremely noisy from road traffic and drinks very expensive
Staff were pleasant
Adjoining rooms meant noise from the next room was unbearable so we left.
Some of the staff were great but there was a mix of 'it's just my job' and others who really tried to make our stay great. Ruth and Cerys in particular were brill. Convenient location.
These comments are intended as constructive feedback. On checking in, the room did feel it had been prepared in a hurry with some lack of attention to detail. One of which was only two bath towels were available, for two people for two nights. we requested extra towels on arrival and had to ask again later in the evening. We had specifically requested a quiet room and had previously stayed in Room 401 with no issues, which is why we were pleased to be allocated the same room again. Unfortunately, on this occasion, noise from the room above was quite disruptive to our sleep. We could clearly hear conversations and frequent foot traffic across the very squeaky floor (ceiling of 401), both late into the evenings, during the night and early in the morning. While we appreciate that some noise transfer between rooms can be unavoidable, it did affect the quality of our stay and was disappointing given our request for a quiet room. It was a shame at checkout that we were told sorry but there was nothing to be done. We hope this feedback is helpful and can be taken into consideration for future guests.
A nice welcome at reception, appreciated when you turn up on a motorbike, lovely big room and comfy bed, its a really nice place and the pub and hotel combined works well, food is excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful Also a reasonably sized car park
The only thing was, we were on the ground floor which was great but the people in the room above us must have had a child with them and it was running around the room a lot in the evening and the noise was really irritating especially at 7am on the Sunday morning! we understand that it's not the Hotels fault but maybe it could be something to address
