Pettifers Freehouse Hotel

The welcome was exceptional, breakfast great and the curry we had on our first evening was amazing! It was a great location for us to meet up with friends on our motorbikes and I'm sure we'll be returning!

Just a personal preference for a softer mattress :-)

I propietari sono per me stata la parte migliore. Così accoglienti e così gentili, sembrava di essere a casa loro e non in un hotel. Alloggio in perfetto stile campagna inglese da sogno. Colazione eccellente!

A me non hanno disturbato, ma essendo in campagna ovviamente in camera ci sono alcuni insetti.

I liked the people and wished I ciuld have used the Indian diner. I tjink it offers excellent value for money by delivering what we needed without fuss. We were at a wedding and it hit all the buttons on the basics

Sehr Gutes englisches Frühstück. Sehr sauber. Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Gastgeber. Die Unser Zimmer im Courtyard war etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber sehr sauber und alles hat funktioniert. Gutes indisches Restaurant am Abend. Im Ort ist nicht viel los, aber die Lage ist günstig, um die Cotswolds zu erkunden.

The welcome and fair well was very nice, extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast was exceptional.

There was little to no hot water on the night of our stay and the water pressure of the shower and temperature the next morning was very lacking. The room was a little tired and not really representative of the website photos, I guess that room 4 is a room on the list for a refurb.

Great food, the Indian restaurant was really a cut above and the breakfast was exceptional. Dogs are treated like royalty with loads of room for them to play outside.

La terrasse est parfaite pour boire un verre ou déguster une très bonne nourriture indienne. La famille qui gére l’hôtel est d’une gentillesse extrême.

Lovely spacious room. Clean and lovely garden view. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and very helpful.

In hindsight I should have requested a ground floor room as I had lots of bags with a 1 year old and lots of stairs and doors to get to my room.

El personal muy amable y la ubicación está muy bien si quieres visitar esta zona. Nosotros alquilamos un coche y desde aquí hemos visitado algunos pueblos de la zona (cotswolds), Bath, Oxford, Salisbury y Stonehengen. Nuestra experiencia ha sido muy buena.

Large room with 3 beds and large bathroom. Excellent Indian curry dinner in the hotel was the best we have had! Complimentary breakfast included in the room rate. Plentiful onsite parking.

Everything was as we expected.

Location is perfect away from the hustle and bustle of the main highways, with good parking facilities. The staff were very polite and accommodating, and the food was good. Beds were comfortable and clean.

Our room did not look like the picture. Very basic. Mattress thin and hard. Pillows flat. Walls thin. It was okay for our purpose of 1 night stay after a gig but would not want to go for long stay. We had to leave early so didn’t eat breakfast so can’t comment on that.

Big comfortable bed, tired but perfectly functional bathroom. Newly opened Indian Restaurant within the hotel, enjoyed a good curry and interesting menu. Plenty car parking, and nicely located in centre of Crudwell village.

Breakfast is very slowly served and very basic. Hotel is old, rooms could do with a makeover.

Excellent Indian restaurant on site. Food superb. Hot water took ages to come through in my room, both sink and shower, unfortunately. No USB socket in room but was kindly lent one by a staff member.

Room door gap allowing a lot of light to come through. Noisy doors outside my room. Suggest 'soft closing' doors would help.

The location made it easy to visit nearby towns. The room was very comfortable and all the staff were lovely and very friendly.

We have a lovely stay at Pettifers with our family and dogs. We will be returning and would recommend.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Pleasant surprise that breakfast was served and not buffet style: there was a reasonable choice though nothing included to make it extra special. A common observation of mine ,being elderly, no grab rail in the bath /shower.

Used as stay for a week with motorcycle. Perfect location to visit the Cotswolds as well as Wales. Friendly owners and staff. Clean room, good breakfast. Pub with top food 1 min walk from hotel.

No longer regular busses available allthough busstop close to hotel, only bus on demand but the app doesn't work with foreign phones. Used taxi instead to go to Malmesbury on rainy day.

Sadly the restaurant wasn’t open but it didn’t affect our stay as we were late arriving. Great comms though from the owner. There is a lovely gastro pub almost next door that serves great food.

The location was spot on for a stay after leaving the Kemble office down the road. Plenty of parking available. The room was large and the bathroom. Lovely breakfast in the morning.

The pub a short walk away must have had a karaoke night on or something as it was really noisy until quite late. I had to keep the window closed (Could still hear the music). The toilet flush was a bit temperamental, and the toilet roll kept falling off the holder as it wasn't tight in place. The caterers were in the process of being changed, so there was no food available at the hotel or a bar like there had been on a previous stay.

Nice village, with a superb pub for dinner located only a short walk away. Friendly welcome at check-in. Large property, shame it’s so tired. Good garden area with outdoor facilities.

Sadly rundown and not worth what we paid for the night compared to other places in the area. Bedroom dated. Mould and cobwebs in the bathroom, shower was either extremely hot or move the dial a 0.5mm for cold, also shower was not very strong. Took over 30 minutes to wait for our cooked breakfast (but was tasty when finally came), milk was off - lumpy bits when put in the coffee, dirty floor in dining area.

The welcome was fabulous and the recommendations good. The room was comfortable but slightly cold. We turned the radiators on a bit which warmed the room up brilliantly. Everything was great and the breakfast in the morning delicious.

Our large room in the courtyard block had a super-king-size, and very comfortable, bed - which is always our main consideration. Also much to our liking was the large wet-room bathroom. Breakfast was cooked to order, and we were offered a good selection of quality foods. We also enjoyed the Indian Fusion meal in the restaurant in the evening - always good to find something different and of good quality.

The sink in the bathroom had a dodgy plug that got stuck, and we couldn't get it sorted till the next day; it was a minor but annoying inconvenience. Parts of the bathroom looked a bit tired, the mirror in particular, but we were assured this is on the management's to-do list. Also, the Internet simply did not work in the room, though it was fine in the main building.

Bella la reception e la sala ristorante/colazione, che però non abbiamo provato. Ristorante indiano. Il signore che ci ha accolte era molto simpatico e cordiale. Ci hanno fatto un upgrade gratuito ad una stanza molto spaziosa. Arredamento minimale e un po’ vecchio stile. Parcheggio comodo, ma non siamo uscite in paese perché non c’era illuminazione e sembrava neanche negozi…

Fabulous hosts in a lovely rural but central location. The rooms were really comfortable and clean with really good towels - soft and sized generously in comparison to the skimpy towels you can get in some more expensive hotels. Breakfast was really good too - would recommend the full English. I was travelling in a group of 6 and everyone got exactly what they ordered to a high quality and service.

The location is excellent, and the hotel is good value for money. The room was a bit cobwebbed and could do with updating, and the breakfast is basic, but the atmosphere is pleasant and the hosts friendly.

I would say that a bit of improvement is in order - better quality coffee for a start and cleaner rugs.

Great location and lovely Indian restaurant on site. We stayed for a long weekend for my wife’s birthday and took our baby. We were well looked after and the hosts and staff were very friendly. They also gave helpful recommendations on local places and walks we could do with a pram. Would highly recommend.
