Porfyris Hotel

This is a lovely, quite traditional Greek hotel. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the rooms are comfortable and the pool is a welcome feature. The WiFi is good, which was important as we had to do some work during our stay. We had a very relaxing few days here.

Bottled water in the room would be nice, although it is easily available from the bar downstairs so this is a minor thing

Excellent location. Very clean,and efficiently run by attentive family.

A few more amenities in the rooms, e.g., glasses. The breakfast would be great with Greek coffee and more Greek food options.

Bagaże zostały odebrane w porcie, wiec odbyliśmy przyjemny spacer główną ulicą do hotelu. Na basenie cisza, brak tłumów. Personel bardzo miły i dyskretny. Śniadania na tarasie. Bardzo czysto. Po check out mogliśmy korzystać z części wspólnych łącznie z basenem do czasu przypłynięcia promu.

Wyjątkowo przyjazny i pomocny personel hotelu i jego właściciele, do których można się było zwrócić z każdym problemem. Idealna wręcz czystość w całym obiekcie. Przyjemny basen z morską wodą. Śniadania bardzo smaczne (zimny bufet: trzy rodzaje wędlin, żółty ser, jajka na twardo, grecki jogurt, różne płatki śniadaniowe, dakosy, ciasto, pomidory, ogórki, oliwki, arbuz, melon i pomarańcze, dżemy i miody - jest w czym wybierać). Pokój z widokiem na morze ma niewielki umeblowany balkon; widok świetny. Mogliśmy zostać na terenie hotelu po wymeldowaniu z pokoju. A do tego wszystkiego uroczy i przyjazny pies.

Szkoda, że nie wiedzieliśmy wcześniej o możliwości wypożyczenia do pokoju czajnika elektrycznego. Ale to drobiazg...

とても良いホテルでした。 ホテルの人はみんな穏やかで親切。 お部屋も、電気がいくつもあって明るいし、とても綺麗で快適でした。 充電できるコンセントも複数あり、ベッドの近くなので就寝時に充電できます。 夜はとても静かで、毎晩安眠出来ました。 プールは、私は泳げないので利用しませんでしたが、プールサイドのテーブルで寛ぐこともできました。 また、港への送迎も事前に連絡しておくと対応してくれました。 ホテルの看板犬はとても大人しくて、ついに声を聞くことはありませんでした。 ロビーでお水やコーヒーも買えるので、スーパーから重たい水を買ってくる必要はないし、メインストリートまですぐなので、疲れたら気軽に部屋に戻れるのも良かったです。 It was a wonderful hotel. The staff were all gentle and kind. The room was bright—thanks to plenty of lighting—and was very clean and comfortable. There were multiple power outlets, including ones near the bed, making it convenient to charge devices while sleeping. It was very quiet at night, so I slept soundly every night. I didn't use the pool since I don't swim, but I was able to relax at the poolside tables. They also provided a shuttle service to the harbor when arranged in advance. The hotel's resident dog was very calm; I never even heard it bark. You can buy water and coffee in the lobby, so there’s no need to lug heavy bottles of water back from the supermarket. Plus, since it’s close to the main street, it was great to be able to easily pop back to the room whenever I got tired.

My friend and I spent two nights at this hotel and had a wonderful stay. Everything was very clean and well-maintained, and the pool area was absolute perfection. One huge bonus: since our ferry left after midnight, they allowed us a late check-out for just half the night’s price, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money on Nisyros—plus, there's a super cute dog 'guarding' the hotel!"

Breakfast was decent, though adding a few more local Greek options would make it even better! On the downside, the rooms weren't very soundproof, so light sleepers might want earplugs.

A beautiful place to stay. We couldn’t fault anything. The rooms were clean as was the hotel and surrounding gardens. Lots of choice at breakfast and so fresh. Definitely a must if staying in Nysiros

Very clean and exceptionally comfortable beds in a very good location within easy walking distance of all. The sites of Mandraki which is exceptionally pretty. Friendly and very good breakfast too.

The balcony at the back of the hotel was not private, the ones either side are only a couple of feet away so you feel you are sitting with strangers. The pool was lovely to have as it’s difficult to get into the sea but tiles needed repair.

A lovely family run hotel. Our room was clean, modern and beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was buffet, continental style offering sweet and savoury treats. The swimming pool was so refreshing after a morning of exploring. Nice views of the sea from our small balcony.

The hotel is in a great location, an easy walk to local restaurants. The hotel owners and staff were really polite and helpful. The included breakfast was excellent, a good selection and all really fresh and regularly topped up. The room was very clean and comfortable. Overall the hotel is good value and we would return.

There are no tea & coffee facilities in the room, the WiFi was poor and didn’t work in our room. Most of the sunbeds by the pool did not have a backrest, i.e. you can only lie flat, no sitting up to read a book!

Piccolo albergo essenziale. Spazi pulitissimi, collazione semplice ma buona. Proprietari e personale gentilì. Qualche minuto di passeggiata da monastero, porto, spiaggia, ristoranti buoni. Tornerei volentieri.

Nella fascia della categoria era tutto perfetto.

Colazione molto soddisfacente, ampia scelta di dolci frutta e yogurt, tutto comodo e a portata di mano, tavoli con splendida vista mare.

Le camere sono molto pulite e comode ma un po’ datate, Come anche il bagno, in ordine ma non moderno……

Άψογη συμπεριφορά κι εξυπηρέτηση του προσωπικού με ευγένεια και φιλικότητα αλλά πάνω από όλα ευελιξία στις ανάγκες μας. Πεντακάθαρα τα δωμάτια και οι κοινοί χώροι. Τα στρώματα ύπνου ίσως τα καλύτερα που έχουμε κοιμηθεί. Το πρωινό αξιοπρεπές, χωρίς να λείπουν τα βασικά αλλά επιδέχεται βελτίωση σε λεπτομέρειες. Μπόνους η πισίνα με θαλασσινό νερό που καθαρίζεται τακτικά όπως μας ενημέρωσαν. Σίγουρα θα πρότεινα το Πορφυρίς και θα επιστρέψουμε.

Nous avons passé 4 nuits au Porfyris Hotel et nous en sommes ravies. L’hôtel est idéalement situé, en plein cœur de Mandraki, ce qui permet de tout faire à pied. La chambre était simple, propre et offrait une très belle vue sur la mer. Le petit-déjeuner est copieux, varié et propose tout ce qu’il faut pour bien commencer la journée. L’ambiance est chaleureuse et familiale, et le personnel est accueillant et toujours disponible. La piscine est un vrai plus : parfaite pour se rafraîchir après une journée de plage ou de découverte de l’île. Un excellent rapport qualité-prix que je recommande sans hésiter pour un séjour à Nisyros. 🌊🇬🇷

Es ist ein sehr schönes Hotel, in der Nähe von Zentrum und Hafen, wirklich nur paar Minuten zu Fuß. Das Personal ist äußerst lieb und hilfsbereit. Wir haben Probleme mit Stornierung für ein anderes Hotel und der Chef hat es für uns alles telefonisch von Ort erledigt und er kocht ein Ersterklasse Kaffee:-) Das Hotel ist sehr günstig, sauber und alles hat funktioniert. Wir haben spontan an Nachmittag eine Nacht zum übernachten gebucht und alles hat reibungslos geklappt. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend auf Nisyros. Liebe Grüße

I loved the location, as it was near to everything. Mandrakion isn’t very big so everything is near. The hotel has a lovely pool and beautiful gardens. The rooms were fine and the beds very comfortable with great aircon and really good shutters along with a cute little balcony. Breakfast was a continental offering but everything was fresh and lots choice and plenty of seating outside. Takis, the manager was a really nice chap. The epitome if Greek kindness. We stay in kos and next time we’d love to try Tilos, however, if we return we’d definitely stay here again on Nisyros. It’s been a wonderful “holiday in holiday”

Sehr freundlicher Betreiber. Holt die Gäste an der Fähre ab. Das Frühstück war toll, das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist prima. Ich brauchte für meine Schulter zusätzliche Kissen zum Lagern für nachts. Hab ich sofort bekommen. Und die Unterkunft liegt gut. Abends kann man zu Fuß das Dorf erkunden.

Alles: Die Lage, das Frühstück, es gab alles was das Herz begehrt, die Sauberkeit perfekt, Technisch auf dem neuesten Stand, man wurde von Hafen abgeholt und zur Abreise zum Hafen gebracht,Personal sowie der Chef sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir können das Hotel nur empfehlen.

Hier war einfach alles prima. Hervorzuheben das freundliche Personal, die persönliche und vertrauensvolle Atmosphäre, Kofferservice zur Fähre, für mich das Bett / die Matratze ein Highlight - und die anderen Gäste dort, ruhig, höflich, interessiert.

Ihana henkilökunta! Hotelli oli ihanan rauhallinen ja sijaitsi hyvällä paikalla. Huone oli tilava ja vasta remontoitu. Parvekkeilla oli pienet pyykkitelineet. Altaalla oli joka päivä tilaa ja allasalue oli viihtyisä. Aamiainen oli maittava. Meidät haettiin satamasta autolla hotellille.

Το συστήνω ανεπιφύλακτα. Η τοποθεσία του ειναι πολυ καλη και ο ιδιοκτήτης ειναι πολυ εξυπηρετικος ευγενέστατος και καλός επαγγελματίας.

Personalen är vänlig och tillmötesgående. Gör vad det kan för att vi gäster ska trivas och må bra. Rummen är bra planerade och många av dem väter ut mot havet. Hotellet ligger centralt men lugnt. Frukosten är bra. Hunden Joy symboliserar hotellets vänlighet och omtanke. Vi är mer än nöjda.

Om man ska nämna något så är det lite för lite solskydd i poolområdet

Simple but wonderful room with a cute little balcony and everything was spotlessly clean. The pool area is lovely and plenty of beds in the sun or shade. Great breakfast which you can eat out on the terrace. Everyone is so friendly and relaxed - even the very cute dog. Highly recommended.

Excellent breakfast

I originally booked a room at Romantzo but left after one night… luckily Porfyris had a room for me which was so nice. It was super clean, had a very comfy bed and a balcony with an ocean view. It’s just a few steps to the ocean and many restaurants but also very quiet. The staff was friendly.

The breakfast was very basic which did not fit into the very nice hotel. Also the pool was empty, which I didn’t mind but might be important for people traveling outside of main season.

The hotel is run by a very welcoming and friendly family. It's in the centre of the town and only a 10 minute walk to the port. The hotel was quiet and we enjoyed the breakfast. We booked a sea view room so that we could be sure of a room on the top floor. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay on Nisyros and it's much better to stay a few nights than join a crowded day trip from Kos. Mandraki is a delightful Greek town and the volcanic craters are fascinating. Do visit the ancient acropolis just above Mandraki as it's in good condition, not often visited and free! The nearest restaurant to the hotel is the Captain's House and they serve excellent food.

We had a wonderful stay at Porfyris Hotel in Nisyros. The hotel was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our visit. What really made the experience special, however, was the outstanding service. The staff were always friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. As a family-owned hotel, it has a warmth and authenticity that is increasingly rare to find. There is no unnecessary pretence, just excellent hospitality, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to make guests feel at home. The simplicity, familiarity, and personal touch create a relaxing atmosphere that perfectly suits the character of Nisyros. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and authentic place to stay on the island.

Spacious hotel with a good view of the ocean. Short walking distance to a fabulous group of restaurants, all with a view of a western setting sun! One restaurant is well known for the best sea food around.

We loved the relaxed feel of the property. The grounds and seating areas were perfect and kept very well. The location was perfect with easy walking to restaurants and bars. The breakfast was limited but the cake was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cleanliness of the rooms was excellent.

Unfortunately we arrived before the pool had been filled but we knew this information beforehand so not a problem.

Super Lage

This is a great place to stay when you visit Nisyros! When we got off the ferry, our bags were picked up by the hotel, which was a great service. So we just had to take a short walk to get to the hotel from the ferry. It is nice and quiet but there are lots of restaurants nearby. The breakfast buffet was generous. We rented a car at the ferry and were able to park it in a parking lot right next to the hotel which was a great advantage.

Es ist ein solides,gepflegtes Mittelklassehotel mit einer schattigen Frühstücksterrasse und einem zufriedenstellenden Bufett, auf dem kleine Leckereien wie bereits belegte Schafskäsekanapées zu finden waren, die appetitanregend präsentiert wurden. Es verfügte über einen großen, sauberen Swimmingpool, auf den ich mich den ganzen Tag im Gebirge schon sehr gefreut hatte. Leider,leider durfte er nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit bis morgens um 8°° h nicht benutzt werden : als Grund gab mir der durchaus freundliche Geschäftsführer Takis an, diese Regelung bestehe aus Sicherheitsgründen, denn Gäste könnten sich u.U. alkoholisiert in den Pool begeben. Ich traf noch bei Tageslicht (~19.20h) ein, war aber bereits von dieser strengen Regelung betroffen. Schade! Vermutlich hatte es in der Vergangenheit negative Vorfälle seitens der Gäste gegeben---- Wie könnte es dazu in anderer Weise gekommen sein,eine solche Bevormundung zu installieren ?! - Ansonsten gab es nichts zu kritisieren.-

Das bereits ab halb acht abends für zwölf Std. gesperrte Schwimmbecken (s.o.)

We were picked up from the Port - which is always nice, the room was clean with a (distant) sea view balcony. Breakfast was great and we were able to eat it on the terrace by the pool. Loads of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance

Room could have been larger

We couldn't get off the island due to the wind, the hotel kept us informed and went above and beyond with their help. Loved the extra night . 😂
