£20 for dog to stay, ouch top floor room with great views Staff lovely and work very hard Decor and bathroom tired Breakfast mediocre, more premier inn level than expensive hotel
Rally Friendly and efficient. Lovely Stay - would recommend. Fabulous portion and views
Excellent
Didn’t end up going due to my wife being poorly I tried to move dates again but was told I couldn’t and would not get a refund I tried explaining this 4 days before the trip but ended up losing the £205 I paid
Based my booking on the content of the Devonshire Fell website including impressive photographs of the rooms. On arrival we climbed 2 flights of stairs to our room on the second floor To our dismay the room was very small, dingy,a stain on the duvet and claustrophobic and a million miles from the images portrayed on the website. A complete “rip off” in terms of the overpriced rates they are charging. My wife and I booked out and requested a refund We were told to contact Expedia for the refund. We were celebrating a special occasion. Extremely disappointing A notice on the one small window instructed us not to leave it open as midges will invade. Contacting Expedia to resolve.
Location is not good, you have to walk up or down the car lanes about 300 yards to get into town, or the park. Much wiser to stay at the lion inn which is safe, has better variety of food and no stodgy staff. We left the fell and are now in a 2 bedroom suite at the red lion for under the fell.
Really enjoyed our stay. Only negative was that the dinner menu was the same each night. The staff were very friendly and polite. A very dog friendly hotel too - you had the option to have meals in a nice room with your dog - this isn’t the case in some dog friendly hotels. Would stay again.
Few niggly issues down to either inexperienced staff or simple mistakes. However, this is still a super hotel in a great location. Food excellent.
Particularly good dinner! Well done that chef.
Last minute booking, great find. Great food and friendly.
Excellent
Lovely place, very friendly and helpful stay.
Excellent service
Great Hotel , perfect location with stunning views .
Stayed one night after getting married the day before at home The service was fantastic all of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was fabulous
Stayed for a wedding. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to explore the fabulous idyllic surroundings.
Super spot. Great views. Excellent food and great service. Can't fault it.
Lovely hotel set in beautiful scenery. Staff friendly and helpful. Very clean and Covid rules in place
Great little stay in the Yorkshire Dale’s. Room a good size, comfortable & clean. Breakfast was really good. Everything COVID wise felt safe. A nice walk up the river to Grassington.
Absolutely wonderful top notch
Overall a very enjoyable experience. Food was excellent! Views /scenery - magnificent! Could have been cleaned better.
Good hotel excellent staff beautiful views Bolton abbey and walks fab
The views are amazing. Lovely comfy bed Good artwork on the walls Meals very good
We unexpectedly arrived here due to an error on an earlier booking. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived and we were given a complimentary upgrade to the suite, from which the views were stunning. Our dinner was so good we asked Alex the chef to come out and congratulate him on his skills. Our motif for our trip was to find a suitable venue for my wife's sixtieth birthday and the Devonshire Fell ticks every box for us and we will be booking it.
Staff really helpful and food was very good would recommend people to the Devonshire Fell with good views of the Yorkshire dales.
The hotel staff were just amazing . They went over and above in their customer service, I can’t praise them enough.
A lovely place to stay very relaxing and the staff could not be faulted ! .
We have stayed a few times. The staff make us feel like family from cleaners to management. Love them all.
Warm welcome at check-in continued throughout our stay. Dinner was high quality but would have liked more traditional options. Very comfortable hotel.
Smuk beliggenhed. Enestående udsigt. Hyggelige værelser. God restaurant. Glimrende morgenmad. Mulighed for fine vandreture i området.
Beautiful location with super friendly and helpful staff. The food is excellent. I would definitely recommend stopping here.
A mix up over dates on arrival was superbly handled with an upgrade and a bottle of champagne. Fabulous meal in the Burlington restaurant and lovely spacious room well worthy of a 5* hotel. Great walks from the door and even dogsitters whilst we had dinner and breakfast. We will definitely be back.
Very relaxing. The food was very good. We were well looked after.
Nice stay, rooms clean and spacious but a touch up to wear and tear would make this a true luxury room. Breakfast v.nice and will vary on request. Winter visits might be troublesome in bad weather as roads are tight.
Great location with beautiful views from the Hotel. Lovely walking right outside the front door! Cute village within walking distance with nice pub. Food at the hotel is excellent we had dinner, bed and breakfast included. Lovely staff and the other guests were friendly. Really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Note: There was no Elevator so luggage has to be taken up and down the stairs. Staff will help but if elderly or disabled make sure you ask if there are rooms available for you.
Fantastic team and service, a little gem.
We were warmly welcomed by staff and shown to a lovely room with excellent bathroom and soaps etc / tea coffee etc. I had to work the next day so they arranged an early breakfast which was excellent as was the next Morning. At all times staff were cheerful and helpful. The surrounding area is staggeringly beautiful. I couldn't speak more highly of staf, venue and area
We had a lovely stay at this perfect little hotel after a long drive up from Brighton. The staff were very welcoming and the place is idyllic.
A lovely hotel set in beautiful surroundings, had a drink in the garden looking out over the river Wharfe and across the valley in the stunning Yorkshire dales. Hotel was very comfortable, staff very helpful and dinner in the restaurant was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would consider staying again, may even take the dog next time as the hotel is dog friendly and they provide maps for some walks you can do.
Room was small for a double, too much furniture. Bed not very comfortable. Bathroom very good. Service in restaurant and lobby poor. Appeared to be a number of inexperienced staff, lacking in training/common sense.
Excellent hotel. The room i had was lovely, plenty of room, comfortable bed and a big bathroom. Had dinner every night slightly expensive but food and choice was very good and worth the money all with excellent service. breakfast was a real treat all cooked to order with a choice of full traditional, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or continental.
Wonderful views. Nice and warm Good food Plenty of parking
Friendly welcome on arrival. Room very clean and comfortable. Lovely food. Overall a very pleasant stay
This hotel is located in a beautiful part of England called the Yorkshire Dales. The view from my room was breath-taking and the staff did go the extra mile to make sure I was happy and comfortable. I didn't want to leave!!
Receptionist was pleasant and helpful. We stayed one night only. We had a drink at the bar. The bar was quiet which we enjoyed. The rooms themselves are large with huge comfortable beds and pillows. We liked the tea and coffee making facilities, with the delicious mini shortbreads and small bag of fudge. We appreciated the artwork on the walls. Breakfast was excellent.
Hotel is in a lovely location and we received a very warm welcome from Helen who was super throughout our stay. Our bedroom right at the top of the hotel was beautiful with the most stunning views. It might benefit from a fresh coat of paint and the carpet cleaning but the views and comfy bed more than made up for that. We ate dinner in the hotel on our second night and that was lovely and very good value.
Make sure you don`t book room 8 you will have the hum of a fan from the kitchen till late at night. Like sitting over a aircraft engine. First thing we spotted was a cob web , and then the brown marks down the toilet, looked in the draw and had multiple peoples hair where the hair dryer went. I had the view of the side yard ,not the Yorkshire dales.when sitting near the bar close to the conservatory, i could not help notice the floor probably never seen a clean. Great shame nice hotel, well placed but cleanliness let this one down. Breakfast was good and you knew it was on as that fan got turned on, room 8 with built in alarm clock.
This hotel is situated in a most beautiful part of Yorkshire. Lovely and quiet overlooking the village of Burnsall alongside the River Wharfe. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was really enjoyable in a lovely setting. A very comfortable bed and the room was sweet . Only downside is the that the decor for a luxury hotel in the the stairway was a little shabby. Apart from that we loved it. Thank you
Comfy clean room, amazing views and great food
Staff are not friendly !
Very enjoyable. Beautiful setting. The staff are knowledgable. The access to the facilities at the Bolton Abbey spa was great.
The Devonshire Fell Hotel is a very friendly and comfortable hotel in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Our room was extremely comfortable, and the service and food in the restaurant were excellent. An added bonus was free use of the spa at the nearby Devonshire Arms Hotel at Bolton Abbey. This was the perfect hotel for our short break in the Dales.
The hotel is in a beautiful part of burnsal and we had some lovely walks around the area. The horel staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We are looking forward to going back.
