Breathtaking views from the property over the lake and mountains. Great communication with the owners over a late check in and everything you need and more at the property. Wish we could have stayed much longer.

Pristine condition historical building perfectly located at the end of the road, right before it transitions to the Queen Charlotte Track. Good access to the pier, the water, and there is a limited-hours trailer cafe on the property. The place was spotless, spacious, with a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining area. Good parking, with paddle boards and kayaks available - including and especially lifejackets. It's an easy walk across the road to put a kayak or paddle board in. The second bedroom is a cozy converted woodshed with its own entrance. Two bathrooms. More or less midway between Havelock and Picton, about a half hour each way.

Excellent position close to the Queen Charlotte Walk. Very peaceful & beautiful setting with lovely hosts.

Amazing location, facilities, VIEW and price. Shayne & Tania are lovely, they are committed to your best interests. This was my second stay and I hope to stay again. I was stoked that both the bioluminescence on the water and gloworms 5 minutes walk up Queen Charlotte track were still as active as ever. Having the bike wash next door is a massive bonus.

Only gripe and it's a very small one, there is some noise from the upstairs dwelling.

We chose this property for its proximity to the Queen Charlotte track: it literally at the entrance. The flat is comfortable and has everything one needs to self cater. We enjoyed our BBQ on the small deck, overlooking the water. Our hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the region snd we had appreciated their warning us in advance about buying food. Our bed was large and comfortable, the shower was hot and the room heaters very efficient.

Looking out the big front window at the bay, the boats, the mountains, and the manicured front yard is spectacular. Very well equipped and thoughtful touches. Spotlessly clean. Easy access to the Queen Charlotte Track, the waterfront, and a reasonable drive to surrounding towns and attractions.

Room arrangement is OK with large spacious en suite bedroom with the TV and large spacious kitchen/dining area with the fantastic views, but no actual sitting/living area.

Loved free and easy access to kayaks and associated gear. Also good tips about glowworms and bioluminescence. It was a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Beautiful, peaceful, idyllic location right by the water at Queen Charlotte Sound. We enjoyed walking the last leg of the famous Queen Charlotte track, which was a wonderful, relatively easy track offering superb views. Jumped off the jetty for a swim in the sound and within 2 mins having a hot shower at the apartment. Tanya and Shayne could not have made us more welcome. They clearly enjoy sharing their piece of paradise, and their enthusiasm is addictive. Very comfortable bed, great shower, well equipped kitchen, peaceful sleep. Don't hesitate to book and stay as long as you possibly can. You won't regret it! We've stayed in some gorgeous places in the South Island and this one was our favourite. Lovely hosts. Bay view apartment was very clean and comfortable. A good size and amazing view from the table when eating. If you like somewhere off the beaten track which is quiet with stunning views, then book with Tanya and Shayne. Very well equipped and we loved it there.

Everything. The welcoming hosts, their beautiful 100 year old lodge, amazing setting, the stunning nature abd walks, the peace and quiet, the incredibly comfy apartment with fabulous views and garden. I wish I could have stayed longer. My best stay in NZ by far!

Out of the way with beautiful surroundings; walk, swim, relax. Take your own food and enjoy the ambiance.

Try to prebook water taxi or shuttle as a bit cheaper. However, Picton taxi immediate and driver full of information so not a negative.

This is the perfect apartment in the perfect place for a relaxing base for the Queen Charlotte track. Even if you are not, the local area is just bliss. We have discovered our new destination….

The only thing peculiar were the bedside lamps, not really effective.

If you want peace and quiet this is a gem of a place with absolutely fantastic hosts . You have everything you require . View brilliant from bay apartment . This is great go walking or cycling Queen Charlotte Track . Swim in the sound or kayaking . I didn’t use my rental car for TWO days . Fully recommended

Tanya and Shayne were the perfect hosts. We did an organised kayak trip locally and they were good enough to drop us down to the start point, as we were travelling without a car. the accommodation is clean and comfortable and perfectly located at the start of the Queen Charlotte track and right opposite the jetty, where water taxis stop. highly recommended.

The apartment was very spacious and well equipped. We enjoyed returning to it's comfort after a downpour on the beautiful Queen Charlotte track.

This property is beautifully situated, especially the garden. The equipment of the kitchen is very best, therefore You may enjoy Your stay.

Nice waterfront setting, far away from any public places. Tavern on 7km is nice, good and cheap food. Room is next to public area with just a glass panel door in between. If you are looking for very basic, this will be to your enjoyment, no seconds for us....

Fantastic quiet spot overlooking the start of Queen Charlotte Sound. Very peaceful and picturesque. Stayed the the bay view apartment which was well equipped with views over the Sound. Private patio space allowed outdoor bbq, would love to return and stay for longer. Ideal for people wanting walking,biking and kayaking and peace and quiet.

Host was very friendly. We only stayed 2 nights but the location is fantastic in the sounds and did the Queen Charlotte Walking track (part of it ). Thanks Beverley Kay Mickan

Great stay and locstion, lovely settings, friendly hosts.

We enjoyed our one night stay. It is located right by the walking trail. The place itself is nice, clean and comfortable.

Could have had a high shelf at end of bed, to put duvet on hen not in use.

We had two lovely quiet nights at Anakiwa - the bed was comfy and the kitchen well stocked. We walked the Queen Charlotte Track for one day and were dropped off by private boat - very convenient and enjoyable! Thanks!!

Stayed 2 nights. Quaint, peaceful, and relaxing. The owners were gracious and helpful. A totally different and better experience than staying in a hotel! Full kitchen to use along with fresh herbs and lettuce from the garden!

Really friendly owners, lovely scenic location at start of queen charlotte track. Communal kitchen but no one else was staying when we were there - if others were there it could depend on what they were like.
