Samed Hideaway Resort

Housekeeping super efficient. Bed slightly on hard side for a farang. Layed back atmosphere.

Good cost performance.

We did not stay at this resort but ate at their restaurant 2 nights in a row as the food was so good. The setting was magnificent next to the sea and all the dishes were amazing. My brother and his wife are Thai and vouched for the excellent meals that they would travel from Bangkok to have again. The Tom ka Gai soup was a particular hit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A five star experience..thank you

Beautiful little spot, bit out of the way but still walkable if you don't have a bike

Property appears to be a little out of the way and far from town, but it is a walkable distance, there’s taxi trucks and motorbikes for rent at reasonable prices. So it really isn’t that far at all. It’s only a few minutes by scooter of taxi truck, maybe 20 minutes if walking, but can scroll up the beaches and over a few outcroppings of rocks and can get nearly anywhere on the island. There’s several other properties nearby with interesting bars and beaches to explore. I like the color scheme of the buildings as they blend into the surrounding environment. Has bar and restaurant that overlook a quiet beach. Breakfast was buffet style, with egg station, pretty good. We rented paddle boards from the property. Kayaks are also available.

Schöne, gute Lage, fast alle Zimmer haben Meerblick, bzw. seitlichen.Meerblick. Gutes Frühstück. Die Betten sind leider viel zu hart.

Good resort to stay at

Having spent the weekend at this resort, it was a very enjoyable stay. The tranquility of the surrounding area on this beautiful island where you need to escape from busy Bangkok. Staff are nice and courteous, also delicious food at the restaurant. It seems they have new Management team with smiling staff. We highly recommend to our friends.

Room ok but breakfast poor, sausage cold

Very disappointing. The rooms are very basic - max 2 star. The TV has bad reception on 8 Thai Channels and only 1 English Channel. The WiFi is slooooowwww. The food is average. The cocktails are terrible and service below par. If you want ice with your Coca Cola you will get charged and add an additional 20mims for delivery. From the “comprehensive” wine list of 16(!) wines only ONE(!) is actually available. The pool is nice but sun beds are very hard and no cushions are available. We won’t be back.

There is a road between rooms reception area and rooms. Advertising pictures are missing this road.Hotel is more a kind of a motel.

We stayed for 4 nights here. The location was pretty good and we were right on a beach, which made it nice for swimming. They do have a great pool too. It wasn't overly busy when we were there. But there were large groups coming and going, but they weren't that noisy. The breakfast is basic, but you do get to sit out and have a fantastic view looking out over the bay. The only problem I really had with our stay was the tap water, there was a slight discoloration. I didn't drink from the tap anyways and also had bottled water. It is relatively private too. Our room was spacious enough and we could sit outside on the balcony. For me it was relaxing and in a good location. The staff were very friendly and happy to help.

Beautiful hotel grounds and location, also the staff was excellent !

If you don't mind very noisy Chinese groups, getting up very early because of doors slammings, cold showers and very basic breakfast covered in swarms of flyes, then this place is for you. This place only catered for big Asian group and this is reflected in the resort. The staff are really friendly

Okay hotel but noisy guests. Hard to sleep in the hard beds and a lot of people yelling and banging doors. Slow service in the restaurant.

Booked two rooms on Koh Samed as a family of five travelling. Once you get off the boat that we paid 1000bht return for you are then greeted with a fee of 50bht per person to go through the port gate, you then get a taxi to your hotel, we were charged 200bht for a short ride up a hill to our resort. You are then advised that half of the island is a National Park so you have to pay 200bht for adults and 100bht per child to access the main areas of beaches and restaurants there seems to be a theme here!!! Upon arrival we were greeted with a smile and welcome drink, we were told that breakfast was served from 7am until 10am but advised to come after 8.30am as it’s less busy. We were then shown to our rooms. These were just as the photos on their website and were very modern looking and the air conditioning was great. We decided to head down to the main beach so got the taxi as the roads are very narrow with lots of mopeds wizzing around we didn’t feel it was safe enough to walk it with children in tow. A return is 400bht which isn’t huge money but if your doing this twice a day it soon adds up. Once at the beach which is lovely clear water and whiteish sand, we noticed huge amounts of speedboats coming backwards and forwards dropping off and picking up masses of Chinese tourists. This seems to be their chosen island destination. Unfortunately due to the boats whilst swimming in the sea there is a constant smell of fuel and noise of the engines revving which slightly ruins the tranquil setting. Had some lovely meals on the island although some restaurants along the beach allow the Chinese tourist to belt out karaoke numbers whilst you’re trying to eat your meal so we avoided these at all costs. Overall good hotel but is packed with Chinese who do make masses of noise whether its early morning or late evening which is a real shame. Also although there is a bar at the hotel you’re unlikely to get any service after 10pm so if your looking for a later night you need to head down to the main areas and taxi back. Breakfast was quite basic unless you fancy a full Chinese takeaway. WiFi ok in reception area as long as the Chinese have gone out as when they are around it slows down to be non existent also no WiFi in the rooms. TV in rooms had the odd English Channel the rest are yes you guessed it Chinese

We booked to stay here for 2 nights as a stop gap from Bangkok to Koh Chang. After a long taxi/ferry journey we were pleased to arrive at the resort. On first impressions it all looked fine, we were welcomed by a friendly/smiley member of staff which was nice and some of the other staff took our bags to our rooms. The rooms were very clean and well presented, the air conditioning worked a treat, the swimming pool was within arms reach so from that point of view no complaints. On the negative side..... The resort beach is complete rubbish, almost no existent. The breakfast buffet is not great. The place almost shuts down by 10pm so no chance of getting anymore drinks unless you go to 7 eleven. It’s a fair walk on a evening back from the main strip so a pick up is pretty much your only choice and at 200 baht each way it can add up if your backwards and forwards. The worse part of our stay was the masses of Chinese people who were so loud that it ruined the experience and they swamped the place so there was little room for anyone else. On top of that I don’t think they have ever seen a swimming pool before!!!! 👎👎👎👎

The stay was not bad, but the WiFi is really weak.

The staff was great. Hotel is very nice. Breakfast includes was really good with omlets and good selection of food. Bed can use improvement to be in my top 10. Overall a great place to stay and would return in an instant.

This hotel is about 3.30 hours from Bangkok , before I choose this hotel I read comments from many website , I just worry about Chinese group tour in hotel , but when I check in this hotel staff reception very good and friendly with welcome drink and Chinese tour group is no problem they not make noisy for us , this hotel is new and good location for me about 1 Km from pier , I like swimming pool , hotel room big and clean , but 1 thing I'm not happy in this hotel and make me really angry , because 1 staff ask me for tips, OMG I stayed many hotel first time have this experience, I still tell all tourist this hotel is good for holiday , just 1 staff is not good and I not complain to hotel

We stayed at the Samed Hideaway for a couple of nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was wide spread, good quality and abundant. Room was smart, clean and had a comfortable terrace. Pool area was very attractive with well maintained landscaping. Been around the whole island and the Hideaway appeared to be one of the best non luxury hotels in ko samed.

Nice hotel with pleasant staff and very eager to please. The price is high for the location and the breakfast is not that great. The beach is not the best compared to other beaches and resorts. The rooms are clean and comfortable.

I was aware of the remoteness of the hotel from the main beach. I chose to stay due large to that reason but it was so loud of Chinese guests. It was not clean or the facilities weren’t up to par with the amount of the hotel. There are hotels on the island that are less pricey and better accommodation all around.

The hotel was fine, but the area is not ideal for the island as hotels further down have beaches you can swim on but you can't swim in the sea here. We hired a scooter to get to the beaches. Also, there were a lot of noisy groups here. Wifi was terrible.

very friendly welcome and pleasant to be there...helpful staff

Nice, beautiful place with good services. Comfortable rooms. Clean big swimming pool and hotel area. Very kind staff. Private pier. But need more supervision at kitchen, I found cockroach in my breakfast =( Also need to fix water pressure in rooms (temperature always changing from cold to extremely hot).

Got this room last minute as every other room was basically sold out on the island, save a few that were in the running with this one. The staff was very helpful and the room was pretty much as described, though a slight bit smaller than I thought it would be. Check-in was easy and my room was ready earlier than expected! There were no hitches in check-in or check-out, nor did I have any other kind of issue during my stay. The staff spoke English very well and were accommodating, though I didn't require much.

Hi we wanted to stay here for 4 nights but unfortunately they only had 1 room for 2 nights as they are fully booked so I'm on my 2nd night before I check out tomoro but I really like this place it is new and has about 50 rooms which are pretty much all see view the rooms are very nice good Aircon big TVs nice balcony huge comfy bed free wifi in rooms it's just perfect it's about 50 metres off the beach and has its own private beach with a jetty but the beach isn't very nice but the pool makes up for it nice clean and warm water with fresh towels on the sun beds daily!!! The free buffet breakfast is the usual basic menu but it's hot and plenty of food which is good the staff are very friendly the whole place is very clean the only problem is the place is full of horrible dirty spitting Chinese people they are noisy arrogant and spitting everywhere they so annoying but the hotel is very nice I will come here again on my next trip very nice hotel

Bon rapport qualité prix.

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, Very nice clean rooms, nice pool area good wifi, breakfast was included, didn't have a wide variety. The location of this hotel is bit annoying, about a 20 minute walk to the bars and restaurants, Would stay at this hotel again, I Recommend hiring a scooter stay here.

Ein schönes Hotel etwas abseits vom Trubel. Erstklassiker Service, sehr ansprechende Zimmer. Mich hat hier nix gestört.

The hotel is in a good location, but you will need a moped as its to far to walk into town and back, unless you get a taxi which are expensive. My only moan is the breakfast could be a lot better for very little effort. Nice hotel with good friendly staff and great pool.

Nice hotel, decent room with balcony, adequate shower, ok bed, nice pool, decent breakfast, nice helpful staff. 15 mins walk to the pier around 25 mins to Saiquew beach. The restaurant is pretty good and well priced. The beach is quite small and poor and the location is a bit remote from the main areas. Nice place for a few days peace and quiet.

I did stay here for 3 days. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The resort is very well taken care and the staff is friendly and service minded. Lovely swimming pool in the tropical garden. A few minor things ... 1. Breakfast buffet not really good 2. Beach not good 3. Do not rent motorbike here

The location is a bit far away from Saikeaw beach need to rent a bike or so. The room is great everything meet the standard value for your money.Only the breakfast have a few choice that disappointed me.See you again next time Samed hideaway

Do not expect to see what is on their website. The rooms are ok, staff is friendly but the location is horrible the hotel is not on the "beach" you have to cross a road. The beach is 50 cm wide, not very clean. Prefer their sister hotel Samed Cabana far better, located further South much more friendly.

OK but nothing more. Dirty beach and bad breakfast.

My husband, my daughter and I went to stay at this hotel on 14-16 February 2016. From its website, it seems to be a nice and quite hotel, and good for family. It turned out that this hotel accept booking for group tour, especially from China. Therefore, the rooms are fully booked and the swimming pool was crowded. When I checked in, it was surprising to see that some parts of the hotel was under construction. It made the hotel looked "unfinished". There were a lot of flies at the restaurant (open air restaurant). It was amazing that there were clouds of flies only at this hotel. I decided to have lunch and dinner at the restaurant near by such as a Baan Ploy at Sea and at the Bed and Bar. Those places did not have clouds of flies like this hotel. My daughter and I also had rash on our faces. I understand that we got it from dust mites or lice from pillow or blanket. I think the standard of hygiene is not acceptable.

We did a last minute one night stay here on a weekend Bangkok getaway. Very new resort, they were still decking out the main area when we got there. Rooms were clean and inviting, as were bathrooms, each with individual balcony overlooking the pool, which was also well maintained. Breakfast was ok, mix of Thai and some more western options ( but Thai style don't expect proper sausages and bacon!) . Would stay again, had good nights sleep!

My partner and I stayed at the Samed Hideaway Resort for 4 nights in December. The hotel was pleasant and located a short bike ride or 15min walk from the main beach with restaurants, bars & shopping. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms are very modern and cleaned daily. This hotel is good value for money & we would certainly visit again.

The hotel is clean, a nice pool area centrally located under shady trees. Open plan dining area overlooking the ocean. Only 2 displeasures 1 was the very hard bed (2 beds puched together) the other very average breakfast.

The location is very nice but the island itself lives in a dark shadow of all the other islands I've been to in Thailand. The taxi service from the harbour dropped me at the complete opposite side of the island and then when I went to the taxi office to complain, they just tried to charge me again but even more. The hotel itself is very nice (nice pool area, friendly enough staff and breakfast is served looking out over a picturesque sea view) but the WiFi crashed for much of my time there and my reason for coming to the island was to get some work done during the last few days of my holiday. Overall, the hotel was let down by the island and I certainly will tell everybody I speak to not to bother with Koh Samet! The achilles heel of Thailand, very sad because it has potential.
