Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The food was superb, the accommodation was clean and welcoming and the customer service was excellent
If there is anything to suggest improvement it would be to have more comfortable pillows. Other than that, everything was great.
All the staff were excellent, professional, organised yet happy & friendly. Dinner & breakfast good. Full of atmosphere you only get in old buildings.
Left bedroom sash window open as room warm & lock a bit difficult so road noise did wake us up in the morning.
What an amazing find. We visited to see our son only for one night. The staff were polite and so helpful and friendly. The rooms were great with comfy beds and the food was delicious. We will hopefully be regular guests.
Old world charm yet with modern facilities
Only one downside you need to drive to any other place. In the area
Everything
Character of pub, ease of parking and the friendly atmosphere
Nothing
A very historic venue changed really well to keep the history but provide modern comforts.excellent food and staff attention was second to none. Friendly welcome and wonderful breakfast service.
Although it is clearly stated the pub is pet friendly. The common areas smell of wet dog. Thankfully the room didn't and was of exceptional standard. But it cannot be said of the common areas.
Great staff, nice spacious clean room, great food.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had good facilities and the room was large.
Very poor value for money. The breakfast in particular was very disappointing. No cereals available, or buffet, everything ordered from a menu. Whilst the menu was very broad and stylish, I waited 40 minutes for scrambled eggs on toast (despite there being only 3 other guests in the lounge) and what arrived was a small portion. I found out at check out that I'd been charged individually for the eggs, a croissant, orange juice and two coffees, totally £29.75. As a guest I wouldn't expect to be charged the same rate as a walk-in, especially for the coffee! The bed was hard and lumpy. The plumbing has issues; there was severe knocking through the pipes when another guest turned the water on or off. The bedroom door was so loose it banged every time another room was opened or shut. The acoustic "musak" all day was loud enough to be obtrusive and annoying even during breakfast.
Le cadre et la gentillesse du personnel.
Aspect a revoir
Such a wonderful Inn, beautiful room, wonderful staff, so attentive and helpful, great food. The location was awesome for what we needed.
Nothing.
very old and charming property very clean rooms are amazing very good food as well at reasonable prices
nothing
Location. The outside area looked ok
Carpets filthy in corridor & in the room , pillow protectors one missing one stained. Mattress protector looked shabby. Musty smell in room. More shabby than shabby chic Corridor to room very cluttered with cleaning equipment etc. the whole carpet in the Inn needs replacing. The music was loud in the room. The owner / manager ?? Didn’t introduce herself- said we should expect music ‘as it is a pub’. When I complained I was met with denial- we have an excellent housekeeping team and never have bad reviews. Sent them an email with photos- no response as yet
Excellent accommodation. Great food
Room was nice and spacious, staff very friendly and food was very good.
Breakfast was good, but having to pay for the coffee's to have with breakfast!! Never had to that ever before, especially when the bill was £16 for 2 coffees each
Everything! The room was magnificent. The location great and the staff so helpful and friendly.
Nothing. Everything was great.
The staff are fantastic, accommodation homely and luxurious, meals here are really good.
Nothing - it worked perfectly
great
gteat
Dinner and breakfast were not included in room price but very reasonable and food was amazing. Staff lovely and room too. Will definitely stay here again
Couldn't fault anything. Staff even informed us when the last time for ordering meals was. As we had notified them that we would be latish to arrive
Nothing
The location was perfect as we were visiting the aviation museum and air show nearby. It is a beautiful place to stay. Our room was fantastic and was very well appointed. The gardens were beautiful and inside the inn was really comfortable. We had the benefit of very hot weather while we were there, which was the icing on the cake. All the staff were really attentive and particular mention goes to Dilys and Rhs, who couldn’t do enough for us. They were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We can really recommend this place and we’ll definitely go back.
Nothing. Only have two suggestions: a more substantial kettle would be better and the room would benefit from a mirror opposite the wardrobe area as the one in the room is hidden by the tv and the one in the bathroom is too high for a smaller person.
Lovely old inn with fascinating history. Very comfortable and spacious room
Nothing
Traditional and modern at the same time Food and staff are excellent each time we visit 🥰🥰
Can’t stay more due to work
Had a one night stay here at the end of a business trip in the area. Excellent- exceeded my expectations bearing in mind the price paid. Large, comfortable and absolutely spotless room overlooking the garden (was slightly concerned this would be noisy), but despite being a sunny evening it was empty each time I looked. Had dinner in the bar area, vegetable curry was delicious- lots of flavour and ample quantity, also liked the ‘mini dessert’ option- perfect when you just want a little bit of something sweet. They even had a lovely dessert wine by the glass. They were able to accommodate my request for breakfast at 7.30am (need to request a time if eating before 9am), lots of choices and my poached eggs on toast with avocado were perfectly cooked. Large car park for easy parking and residents have their own entrance to avoid having to take luggage through the bar area. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
We were holidaying in the area and thought pub looked good but sadly of the six adults four didn’t have good food.
Great food, friendly , attentive service. Only very minor criticism would be a preference for more vegetables with the main meals. They cost very little to add but make plates look less empty.
Lot's of interesting choices for breakfast. Vary tasty too. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and staff are lovely. Nothing to complain about at all. Will definitely come back.

We had an absolutely excellent stay at The Leagate Inn. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well cared for. The room we rented was spotless, comfortable, and full of charm, with all the little details that make a stay feel special. The food was outstanding. Every meal was cooked beautifully, full of flavour, and clearly prepared with real attention and pride. It is the kind of place where you look forward to every course. A special mention has to go to Dylis, the front of house manager. She was amazing throughout our stay. Warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel looked after, she set the tone for the whole experience. Nothing was too much trouble, and her friendly approach made us feel completely at home. The rest of the staff were equally brilliant, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from start to finish. Overall, The Leagate Inn delivered on every level. Excellent room, excellent food, excellent staff, and exceptional service from Dylis. We will definitely be returning
Great location Cozy bar with real fires Great restaurant Plenty of parking
Went for breakfast (eggs on toast) was told sorry we have no gas so can't do any eggs!! Microwave ? Would have given it a 10 otherwise
Lovely spacious & clean, warm room. Bathroom was beautiful. Staff very friendly & helpful. Perfect base 5 mins from the viewing car park for Coningsby which is the reason we stayed.
Very friendly staff. Lovely property.
A little bit of road noise but nothing terrible. Bed was firm as against soft.
Wonderful setting with friendly attentive staff. Excellent food and superb accommodation
Very good
Comfortable, perfect location for what we needed
We enjoyed a 3-night stay at The Leagate in September as our chosen dog-friendly base when I was extremely fortunate to be treated to the VIP Lancaster Taxy Ride at nearby East Kirkby as a special 70th Birthday present (highly recommended incidentally!). Although adjacent to a busy road, the Inn's bedrooms are far enough away for there not to be a noise problem. Lots of parking space, but our experience was that the car park could be very full around 5-6p.m.'ish as the Inn is clearly a popular spot with locals who call in for a drink on their way home. Our room was very comfortable and we chose to eat-in on all three evenings. In our opinion, both the food and the service was excellent. The same was true of the breakfasts, which were generous and of very good quality. All in all, thoroughly recommended if you are looking for a reasonably-priced place to stay and/or to eat in this area.
The room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. However, the light switches for the bedside lights were behind the headboard which were slightly difficult to turn off when you were already horizontal in bed! Good selection of teas and coffee. The bath was lovely, likewise the showers and towels.
Plenty of parking space. Nice entrance doorway. We’re directed to the bar by a regular as we’ve never been before. Welcomed by a very polite and pleasant man with a pony tail and a polite and pleasant girl with blue hair. We both ordered the haddock and chips. We can both safely say that this was the very best fish and chips we have ever eaten. In our sixties, that can’t be bad!! Piping hot, crispy chips with the fluffy middle and no aftertaste of old oil. Perfectly cooked fish, crispy batter and moist big flakes of haddock. Absolutely delicious. We have lived in the area for many years, husband lifelong, but never visited. We will be back with our friends in January. Thanks!!
Absolutely everything. The setting, the hotel itself. The food was amazing as were the staff
Nothing
Great night, great service. Staff above and beyond.
Cheaper neck oil!!
Excellent location with a spacious car park. Loved the old character of the inside along with excellent food and real ales.
Softer bed
A country inn, centuries old, full of warmth and character. Large comfortable bedroom, looking out onto the RAF Coningsby runway; what an alarm call, a Typhoon taking off at full chat! Bathroom lovely, a huge freestanding bath tub that made the shower redundant ( for us!). We slept very well The food was first class; we had an exceptional couples dinner in the bar area,,a Xmas dinner with a group in the restaurant, and two a la carte breakfasts What made this hostelry really memorable was the staff. All remarkably young, universally polite, helpful and welcoming. They have clearly been well trained/ selected, but in this age of multiple complaints about everything in life, this team deserves all the compliments we can offer ! Thank you 🙏
The slightly ramshackle property lends itself to’shabby chic’, but we did notice that really some of the carpeting in the public areas is in need of renovation
The staff and the cosy feel
Staff are outstanding as is the welcome!
Staff and food faultless room was good size and clean.
While dogs are allowed in rooms, my bed must of been slept on by dog/dogs and didnt get any sleep due to itching all night as im allergic to pets.
The Leagate Inn was a wonderful place to stay and to eat. The service was excellent and the staff were wonderful. The food was excellent and a wide range of dishes and also speciality food nights. The Staff were so welcoming and very friendly. The inn felt homely and inviting. This is a fantastic place to stay and to visit. When you visit the area you need to visit or stay here, as you will not be disappointed.
Lovely open fires, food was lovely, the room was comfortable, and the staff were amazing.
Lovely friendly pub/hotel with nice atmosphere. Rooms recently renovated with good decor.
Generous sized bedroom with comfortable bed and good bathroom. Garden view was very nice - but probably more relevant in the summer rather than on a wet November day! Plenty of parking. The building was full of character. The food was excellent. The highlight was our breakfast of burrata on sourdough bread with poached egg and pancetta - not cheap but really delicious.
The busy road was a bit noisy overnight - bring ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper! The decor was nice, with a couple of light hearted pictures.
The Leagate Inn has wonderful old world charm , fabulous rooms and an excellent restaurant and bar area

Atmospheric, comfortable, welcoming with excellent service and food
Clean and picturesque Beautiful place
We aren’t near it to use it more
Location. Very near to where we wanted to be.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were all fabulous, so helpful and attentive, friendly and very welcoming. The food is excellent, delicious breakfast with so much choice and variety and the restaurant and bar menu was perfect and again delicious. Our room was lovely with a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. We initially had some problems working the the bath taps ( a nice water temperature was difficult to achieve and they were difficult to turn off fully) but we got the hang of it and a plumber was due to call to fix it. The gardens are very pretty and there is plenty of parking. We would definitely highly recommend The Leagate Inn and would love to stay there again
We had a great stay at the Leagate Inn. Check in was pleasant and we were showed to our room which was lovely. The bathroom was in great condition but there wasn’t any bath mat or grab rail in shower area so it was quite dangerous when wet. The rest of the room was good although the vines outside windows need a trim. The only issues we encountered was that a number of the common areas had badly worn and grubby carpets, which need to be replaced. We ate here and the food and service was great and the restaurant was full, so it is obviously very popular with visitors and locals alike. We would have no hesitation in returning but would hope the carpets would be replaced in these common areas, as it doesn’t do the rest of the place justice.
Lovely big room very clean, great food
Nothing
We stayed here inbetween a couple of days golfing and what a gem of a hotel. The girls who work there couldn’t do enough for us, the hospitality and the food were 10/10. The girls even sourced a fan for us with the warm nights. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
The staff were lovely and so welcoming. The room was lovely too, the large ground floor window opened onto a view of the garden. The bathroom looked amazing, but, see below.
The bathroom and walk in shower had a marble floor which was so slippery when wet we had to put towels down. There was absolutely nowhere to put toiletries except on the cistern where they fell into the toilet. The shower was so difficult to work out, (and we’ve stayed in many hotels) There was absolutely same in the room, there was nowhere to put anything. There were two cupboards to hang stuff, but nowhere to put underwear or other stuff. We didn’t ask for a quiet room as stated above, but if we had we might have been disturbed by the constant squeaking of floorboards above us
all very friendly exellent service made guests feel at home, clean and refreshing room very comfortable
Went for lunch after being recommended by the owner of the cottage we staying in food was perfect and a lovely atmosphere on the terrace service was excellent to would highly recommend
Very friendly and cheerful staff. A character inn with excellent facilities and very attractive garden.
Traditional inn feeling with excellent food and relaxed environment. The Lancaster and Eurofighter flyover was a bonus
Hot water slow to come through
Been before. Enjoy staying there.
Nothing
The food (breakfast and evening) was excellent. The staff were most obliging and friendly. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
The one thing I didn't like was the state of the carpet in the "corridor" that links the bedrooms with the bar/dining areas. However, the staff said it was going to be replaced.
Staff were great could not do enough for you and were very friendly
Everything
Rooms was very comfortable, well decorated with a garden view. Good tasty breakfasts.
Drinks in hotel bar were very expensive. Carpets in public areas were dirty looking and need replacing.
Really lovely surroundings. Pleasent and helpful staff.. excellent food and service
Nothing
The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very nice, food is pretty good too.
There was no hot water in our room when we checked in. It took some time to figure out what to do about it. They moved us to a different suite, where there was hot water, but we lost a lot of time because of this issue and were late for an important meeting. The water temperature still was a bit uneven and tricky to control. It was very annoying and the hotel didn’t give any compensation. I was upset with paying that money for a room, going into the shower, not being able to take it, having to dress again, wait, move rooms etc. The hotel did move us but I felt it wasn’t enough. However the staff were friendly and polite.
The staff were lovely, so pleasant.
Nothing, all good.
Nicely presented , well cooked
No
Bedroom and bathroom clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant.
Disgustingly dirty carpets in the downstairs area. Table at breakfast felt unclean. Noisy road.
We did not ask for a quiet room. Think you are confusing us with someone else. Room was comfortable and clean. Ironically ideal for a dog stay.
We did specify we had a dog with us and would take advantage of pets go free it was highlighted in green and advertised on booking.com. This we stated on the on line form. However when we arrived the young lady claimed no knowledge of this. When we checked out the breakfast waitress said they had on going problems with booking .com advertising pets go free which it was not. It was £15 not what was advertised or what we had booked. We were unhappy about this but paid up. We contacted the Leagate with a current ad from booking.com showing highlighted pets go free. They refused a refund. Buyer beware not good enough. If we had known we would not have booked the Leagate at all. They need to sort this out to save misleading their customers.
We'd had a very difficult day. On arrival the sign confirming the presence of Timothy Taylor beer made my day. It's my favourite beer. When we got inside, the staff were really welcoming. Got us booked in quickly and showed us to our spectacular room. Very comfortable bed, roll top bath and en suite. In the restaurant we were served quickly and correctly and the food was great.
.
Staff lovely food excellent service excellent
No thing bad
The room we had was spacious and big enough for a family of 5. The bathroom felt pretty new and good amenities were provided. They were thoughtful about us having a dog with us and had a dog bed, water bowl, treats and a very sweet booklet with good local dog walks detailed. Every single member of staff we encountered was a complete delight.
The lack of soundproofing. We were kept awake until 2am by an energetically amorous couple in the room above us. It was unbelievably loud - the building is very old and there is no soundproofing at all meaning our room was practically shaking and we heard every single detail - quite unpleasant with a small child and none of us got any sleep. Not the pub’s fault per se but something to bear in mind if you’re travelling with a small person.
nice and quiet, good food and good staff
Lovely location and comfortable rooms. The service and staff were excellent and everyone very friendly. Definitely stay there again
Couldn't open room windows
Very nice stay on our way to visit the east coast.
Location good, close to family, breakfast facilities not used
The pipes that were on till 11pm by the bathroom in the room
Dog friendly Lovely staff Good food
Carpets in public areas worn Dog friendly eating area for breakfast “like a corridor “
Great stay at this welcoming inn. The rooms are spacious and comfy ( lovely pillows!) Food is super. Imaginative specials and good value all round. Beer garden in the sun is lovely too. Dog enjoyed her stay with a bed and treats provided. The staff are very good with exceptional service from Jake in the evening and Kyrie at breakfast who was so efficient with a good memory for detail. We felt very cosseted. Thanks. We hope to return soon.
Service was exceptional and every member of staff we dealt with was lovely. Both the evening meal and breakfast were delicious and great quality food. The room was so nicely decorated, clean and the bathroom in particular was stunning.
The mattress on the bed was rock solid and the springs could be felt, we didn't sleep very well on it. This was the only negative thing about the whole place and experience, but had to be mentioned as it is more than a minor issue that can be easily overlooked.
