Very friendly check-in, super comfy bed and excellent breakfast
The breakfast was good. The staff was good give all the information that was needed. Room was very clean
Nichts.
Very clean and welcoming
The green emergency light actually in the small bedroom felt like we slept with the light on all night. I get it being an emergency light but in the bedroom
Staff couldn't help enough. Needed to leave before breakfast so they had pre prepared it for us and left in a fridge. Incredibly helpful thank you
For full transparency the mattress wasn't the best. It was lumpy and noisy but it didn't hinder our sleep. I'd still give full stars for our stay.
All the staff were helpful and friendly. I arrived early and was able to leave my bags whilst I explored the local area. My room was at the front, number 3. It was quiet. You can log in to your Netflix and Prime on the TV. The room was comfortable and clean. I came by bus from Machynlleth. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk away. After my stay I got the bus to Blaenau Ffestiniog by the Oakeley Arms. I enjoyed the Sunday carvery and also the outdoor seating area for a drink.
This isnt anything the hotel can fix but I do find that, even in such stunning locations, the freedom to walk about is severely curtailed due to cars and busy roads. I was on foot. There was a lovely walk if you turn right when exiting the hotel then cross over and go up the hill. However if you try walking up on the same side as the hotel the road has no paths and is too busy with cars to walk up with any enjoyment. You can enjoy a lovely wooded walk with lakes just pass the Oakeley Arms, a 10 minute walk away. However this requires walking on the side of the A487 and having to cross it. Like I say, not the hotels fault but something for walkers to bear in mind.

Room 5 was noisy over the bar.. Music untill 11
Everything
Noisy delivery lorrys first thing in the morning
Very clean and comfortable

Location was lovely, food was outstanding ,staff were friendly and helpful, very clean and tidy
We didn’t sleep very well at all , to noisy, could hear the noise from the room and guests next door to our room , definitely need to sort out sound proofing the rooms
We were two travelling motorcyclists and the two rooms allocated were wonderfully located separate little mini suites with entrances right by the car park where we left our bikes overnight which made moving luggage very easy. They were very compact but suited the purpose. The restaurant was good, service excellent and the view from the terrace while enjoying early evening beers was excellent. Location also was perfect for our route up into Eyri.
The shower extractor fan did not work which I forgot to mention. The bedroom and bathroom were very compact - 2 people would have been a squeeze.
The room was very clean and new. We had kettle and could have a tea in the room. There was also free car park. We had breakfast and dinner and both very filling and delicious. Staff was very helpful .
The owner and staff were amazing, great chats about how the place came to be and why it is so popular as a restaurant, pub, beer garden, and small inn. Food was delicious and has a good variety of locally sourced ingredients and options for meals. It was so quiet and comfortable in the room as well.
Fabulous location, close to major attractions & landmarks. Food for both breakfast & dinner was good. The staff were friendly & helpful.
Cottage 1 needs a mirror in the bedroom & the hair dryer needs to be fixed to the wall. The rusty towel radiator needs to be replaced in the bathroom.
Very friendly and welcoming staff and free parking. Well stocked room (coffee/tea/chocolate and multiple milk - which I like etc) although I didn’t try them. Newly decorated large bathroom with nice bath. Good breakfast menu and very nice staff then as well.
Bar was noisy and easily heard from room, but did stop at 11pm. Thin walls/doors and noisy road outside and waste pipes noisy as well. Double bed small and spongy and ? Room felt on a bit of a tilt.
Great place to stay, good location for out purpose en route to Ireland. Nice restaurant and great hosts.
A bit noisy first thing in the morning with delivery vans
Lovely location
Room 5 is very noisy, extractor woke us up every morning before 7am and the walls are very thin. We could here the next door resident snoring every night and it wasn't the same person.
Couldn't fault the hotel, bar staff were great, and the food was lovely ... Breakfast was superb. I will stay again
The rain
Stayed at the grapes hotel for 2 nights, staff friendly hotel was very clean, location for us was remote
Everything, from the staff, the lovely cottage room we had, the food just everything. Nothing was too much everyone was absolutely lovely. The room was so clean and just smelt so fresh and clean. Every fine detail was amazing at this place. Would recommend to anyone we will definately be going back! Thank you
Honestly couldn't fault this place
The Location was amazing, nestled in the heart of the mountains.
No much all good.
Great stay and well looked after by incredible friendly staff
Location. Food. Friendly staff. Big shout out to Seren, what a star......literally.
Nothing
Very clean, nice hot chocolate. Lovely bed and linen. Excellent breakfast . Great view
Lovely place in a beautiful valley, fab set up and great food, reasonably priced. Guinness was good and had a pool table too.
It was busy when we arrived and the parking was a bit crazy. We eventually got a spot. Only other issue was the delivery man who arrived at 6.30am. He managed to make an unreal amount of noise for 30 mins or more and we were staying in cottage no 1. End of nights sleep, 2 hours too early!!!
The outside area was lovely and the food was good pub grub
The property was a bit old fashioned and could do with being a bit more up to date but it did not deter us from staying again
Very good overall.
Access from the car park is not easy
In the most idyllic surroundings
Just the couch in the cottage
Good location, friendly and helpful staff, clean facilities, delicious cooked food, powerful shower and comfortable bed. We’ll stay at the Grapes hotel again. Definitely recommend it.
N/A
Character and welcomed by the staff .
The fact that we were room opposite to a very noisy man snoring all night might aswell be at home with my husband 🤦🏻♀️
Beautiful location with comfortable clean rooms
Matratzen etwas durchgelegen.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Good food at restaurant.
Our room had a sewerage smell, which was a bit disappointing.
The food and breakfast were excellent. I had the ribs which were brilliant quality and value.
Staff very kind, the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Very good the breakfast and the dinner too.
Very friendly staff, lovely breakfast too

The location
We were sold this location as a bungalow cottage but when we arrived, there were extremely difficult and narrow stairs making their accommodation unsuitable. This was extremely upsetting as a disabled person and particularly after an extremely long journey. We understood from the hotel that the advertising was incorrect on the side of Booking.com and not the hotel. The hotel did find an alternative room, but this involved stairs as there is no lift. Whilst we could navigate the stairs to some degree to access the room going up and down was not an option so one of us missed out on breakfast as the latest serving was 9:30 am with checkout at 11 am. The staff in the hotel were extremely kind and did their best to accommodate what was a very upsetting and embarrassing situation that should not have happened. This was particularly upsetting as it was our last night of our holiday. I could not, I ever felt the hotel for able-bodied people as the location, staff and food were lovely, but we do think in this day and age attention needs to be given to accommodating disabled people in this hotel to ensure fairness and equality of treatment and experience.
Great location. Lovely rooms with fabulous views. Staff really welcoming and the food - both breakfast and dinner - was exceptional! Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended 😊
the breakfast was beautiful, and the location was amazing for views
Excellent staff, accommodation and fantastic breakfast
Nothing it was fantastic
Very nice room, friendly staff, great location to explore the area.
The food was poor quality and don't seem freshly made.
We loved everything about this hotel. The food was fabulous, the views were stunning and the people were so so friendly. Room was incredibly comfortable and the shower was good. Great selection of tea, coffee biscuits in the room. Outside eating area had incredible views.
Only negative was the noise from the passing traffic during the night at the front of the property. It was surprising as it’s such a quite village. Can’t be helped though.
Lovely scenic area, and the staff were very friendly. Food is lovely, a nice, relaxed atmosphere. I was over from Ireland Hiking, wasn't able to make breakfast the morning so the barman who checked me in organised a packed lunch to bring with me the next day, very thoughtful, Nice clean room and great shower
The Bed was too soft for me. Soundproofing in the rooms doesn't exist. My room was over the Bar so what goes on below , above or either side of your room, your going to hear it. You have to take into account it's a very old building, but very nicely restored.
Good food and prompt and friendly service.
Food and location
Room was very hot
Personnel accueillant. Séjour agréable.
All was great and the food was exceptional A+++
Nothing
Room was clean and had everything we needed. Parking was good. Food was exceptional. Friendly staff.
Loved the location, view, food, general vibe, wonderful host, easy to find and park and the mega Welsh cider 👌
Leaving
Brilliant location. Great food (plenty). Brilliant staff.
The staff were so attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast, and restaurant
It was rather difficult to park the car. Had to park on the road, however we did arrive during Sunday afternoon on a very hot and sunny day
Great location. Lovely restaurant and friendly staff. Free parking
Comfy beds nice view
Nothing really
Nice little cottage alongside the main premises with very easy access. Car parking excellent though can get busy in the early evening, but then plenty of parking on street in front of premises.
The Grapes is in an excellent location, easy to get and handy for all local attractions. The staff are excellent, very friendly and very efficient. The meals are served in quick time and of very good quality. All round well run and welcoming.
Beautiful location and excellent friendly staff 10 out of 10
Window blinds
It was a convenient location. Lovely looking pub/restaurant, shame we were only able to come for the breakfast so we can’t comment on the pubs food. But the breakfast was fresh and lovely. Our server was so attentive and helpful.
Stayed in room 1 for one night. The staff were really nice. The food was delicious. My partner and I ate at dinner, breakfast and returned a few days later for Sunday lunch.
My partner and I barely got any sleep. Guests staying in the suite which was the floor above us made a lot of noise, running around at 03:30 in the morning. The bed was also hard and lumpy. There doesn't seem to be any sound proofing between rooms at all and this room is situated right next to the stairway.
Beautiful views, friendly staff, excellent food choices
The property was in an amazing location with fantastic views. The bedroom was large as was the bathroom and it was very clean. The food was good and the staff friendly.
The TV reception kept dropping out due to bad internet connection. Not ideal during the world cup :)
Staff were exceptional, the room was spotless, the food was outstanding.
No
Staff and food were excellent. Accommodation really good also.
Everything to like here.
Prima hotel met uitstekend restaurant en terras. Gevarieerde menukaart. Heel vriendelijk personeel, hardwerkend en service gericht. Mooie kamer en ruime badkamer.
Smal bed.
The location is good
The service was rushed and felt like they just wanted to get rid of the customers asap. We were there two nights and both times there were big celebrations were it was loud but the big group didnt get secluded so it was a loud atmosphere. The portion sizes are huge, but the quality was not great
Welcoming hotel and staff and food was great
Bed in one bed cottage not very comfy . Not a lot of parking for how popular the hotel is/ food is .
Cottage war nett, wenn auch sehr klein.Der angrenzende Pub war gemütlich.
Schlafraum incl. Bett sehr klein.Badezimmer könnte mal Renovierung vertragen.
Fantastic hotel, very helpful staff Food excellent
Nothing
The location of the hotel is in a beautiful setting and the staff were very friendly.
There was no hairdryer in the room and breakfast was a bit limited.
Leuk hotel met uitstekend ontbijt en restaurant. En mooi buiten terras. Mooie groene locatie!
Very welcoming and clean. So comfortable
When getting rid of empty bottles in the bar please place them in the bin instead of throwing them !! The constant loud crashing noise makes customers jump and the noise of them hitting other bottles is ridiculously loud, reverberating all around the bars !!!
This place has the best beer garden in the uk by far Everything was brilliant Food was excellent and so were the staff
Alles bestens! Sehr gute Getränkeauswahl!
Es gibt keine Kritik.
Kostenlos Parken im Hof. Sehr gutes Abendessen im hauseigenen Restaurant. Grosses Bad.
Loved the location and the spacious big clean rooms with big bathrooms that include showers and bath. The staff were really nice and friendly. Food was also really nice
The location and the outside seating areas are excellent.
Cottage 2 the bedroom was very very small little room for storage or luggage. upstairs seating area sparsely furnished a coffee table would be a good addition. The whole cottage needed reftbishing Closing the conservatory area to eating at 7.30 was disappointing on a lovely sunny evening
Location, clean, tidy, warm.
Pillows were very flat. Very tiny, couch not very comfortable. Furnishings were a bit basic.
Locatie is geweldig, supervriendelijk personeel!
We had a lovely stay at the Grapes Hotel. The hotel was very clean throughout, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location was excellent for exploring Snowdonia and visiting nearby attractions. It was the perfect base for our weekend away and we really enjoyed our stay.
There wasn’t much to dislike. The walls were quite thin so we could occasionally hear noise from neighbouring rooms. The room also became quite warm during the night, and we found the bed a little softer than our personal preference. These were only minor issues and didn’t take away from an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Lovely outdoor seating area. Large restaurant
One of the rooms was a small double, very small and not comfortable
Great staff, comfortable room, and excellent breakfast.
Nothing
The staff were lovely
Nothing
We had a great stopover, everything was quality, really enjoyed our stay.
All was great. no complaints.
Breakfast very all cooked fresh. Excellent location for zip world or short drive to the beach
Nice bed just felt it was a little to big for the room we stayed in.
Beautiful
Great hot breakfast. Lovely staff. Nice range of beers.
Only the cost, it was just overpriced for a (very decent) pub/hotel.
The location was great for hiking and outdoors activities. Also the historic train isn't far away. The food at the hotel was nice and the breakfast large. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite small but clean.
As the rooms were quite small we did miss hooks in especially the bathroom to hang our towels.
Beautiful location, 50 mins from mount Snowdon. Staff are fantastic, very helpful and friendly. Lovely room, great food, both at dinner and breakfast. Nothing negative to say about this hotel, only stayed 1 night after climbing Snowdon, but would highly recommend it.
Very clean and friendly staff. The lady who served all the meals and did the cleaning was excellent. She made our stay amazing and I’m just sorry I forgot to ask for her name. All the staff were accommodating and friendly.
Nothing
Beautiful building with lovely view from the front and back. Room 2 (twin room) was spacious, clean and everything we needed. The staff are EXCEPTIONAL, friendly, helpful! The breakfast included was brilliant and all in all it was a terrific stay. Nightly recommend despite the slightly tired bathroom suite.
The bathroom is a little tired, but very clean and did not affect us at all. The shower was AMAZING. This is the only reason for 9 not 10
Good views, great patio area, car park. Breakfast was very good and tasty. Good view across to the hills. Obviously very popular with the locals, food was delicious. Lovely staff, very clean, good range of tea, coffee and chocolate in room.
Only downside was it was in the middle of nowhere, only the pub and a church to see in walking distance, ok if you have the car.
Lovely location Exceptional staff
Bed was a bit stiff
