Hampton Inn by Hilton Sarnia/Point Edward

Booking through this app I was disappointed that requesting 2 rooms with small children we would have been assigned side by side rooms but no, the rooms were on separate floors making it impossible for babysitting BUT the hotel staff went above and beyond to find us two rooms side by side, even connecting rooms.

Loved everything except the small glitch as stated.

Breakfast was adequate, with lots of choices.

Mattresses are in terrible condition, they need to be replaced. Consequently we did not sleep well.

Ontbijt was wat weinig keuze. Voor Europese begrippen geen echt ontbijt.

Breakfast was okay. No sausage patties.

I always enjoy a Hampton stay. Clean, cozy, comfy bed, soft pillows, and a nice breakfast. My favourite complimentary item, aside from the coffee, is the vanilla flavoured creamer. The ONLY way to start my morning!

It's not a deal breaker, but I don't love the barn style bathroom doors as it lacks complete privacy. It's not an issue when traveling solo but some may find it uncomfortable while traveling with others.

The room is big it’s just you can people talking from hallway even bangings of doors from other units. Barely little to nothing shampoo in our unit. Just couldn’t ask for refill as we’re in the middle of showering when we found out.

I think this hotel is overpriced for what it is. CONS: 1. There is a sliding barn door that doubles as the closet door and the bathroom door. It is set out from the wall by 1-2 inches. This means that any family member or person in the room can look through the gap and see you in the bathroom. This also means that if you are relieving yourself or stepping into or out of the shower, they can see you. There is no way to lock this door. Anyone can slide it open at any time. Unless you're the one IN the bathroom. There is no handle on the door. You have to figure out how to slide it open with the palm of your hand. 2. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. 3. The shower head appears to have a variety of settings, but I couldn't figure out how to consistently go to other settings. Give us some instructions, please! 4. One of the towels had something gross and brown attached to it. So, the bathroom gets 0/0 for me. 5. The room was really cramped. There was very little room between the beds and the fridge/TV/table area. 6. There was one dirty, stained chair to sit in. There were also two very low stools you could sit on. 7. Although there are plugs on shelf beside the beds, cords flopped out of them at the slightest touch. 8. Road noise from the nearby highway is pretty loud. 9. The elevator is very slow. PROS: 1. There is a shower curtain instead of glass shower doors. 2. The front desk people were nice. 3. There was hot water in the shower. FUN TIP! On the bed, there's a sheet, and there is also a sheet/blanket combo thing that contains SO MUCH static that when you run your fingertips against it, you can make all kinds of fun, bright, electric sparks. This kind of distracted me from getting to sleep because I was trying to take a video of the the sparkling static. Try it out!

Best hotel breakfast.

The room was clean and well appointed. The value was good for the price. The location was perfect for what we were doing in town. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

A few things made it slightly less desirable. I do not like that Hampton Inn hotels don't have a standard bathroom door. The lack of privacy with the sliding door with gaps and no lock is very uncomfortable. Also we were surprised that the breakfast is only available until 9am. 10am would be better.

The beds were so comfortable. Everyone talked about them for days. The breakfast had something for everyone, it was very clean and the lady running it was helpful and always cleaning! The kids loved the pool.

The location and the noise of the trucks backed up at the boarder made for a hard sleep in the rooms facing the duty side of the hotel.

Jay and Juanita were exceptional with help and assistance. The room was decent on the top floor. Great view of the bridge. We stayed here for convenience dropping our child off the next morning for school.

The only thing that could have been better was the selection for breakfast and our a/c was kind of loud

Well I did not like the barn door on the bathroom. Felt this was not private enough. Cupboard for clothes was very small. They should have used an air freshner in the room. It smelled of dirty socks.

The breakfast was delicious and they had a great selection of hot, cold, and baked good options. The room was clean, and smelled of fresh clean linens, and the beds are extremely comfortable. The staff that I spoke with were all very friendly, and helpful. The design of the hotel was very nice and modern and the colors they chose gave a welcoming sense. Overall its a great hotel, it's not too expensive, they offer some good amenities, and I'd definitely recommend anyone who needs to get a hotel to definitely check Hampton Inn out.

Excellent location, amenities & staff Kids & grandkids stayed and were able to use the pool each of the 2 day stay. The breakfast was a great extra too.

Dust in lounge area at breakfast. Every time we opened the mini fridge it smelled like pot. My allergies were very bad after staying in the room. They cleared within an hour of leaving the hotel.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I received text messages each day as a way to communicate with front desk for any needs. Super convenient. The rooms were nice and clean. I love this hotel and will stay here next time I am in town.

The showers need a redo - at least get the grout clean. The elevators went out, but that just happens and the staff responded well.

All staff were friendly. Breakfast was decent and coffee okay. Room appeared to be clean but we did find things on carpet not from us, and wash clothes from previous guest over the curtain rod in the shower. Bathroom was clean outside of the wash clothes but they were over the current rod, not a place many would look. Elevators were down in the evening for an hour or so but we were only on floor 3 so stairs were no problem. People on the 6th floor or with mobility issues would’ve been inconvenienced. Overall, I would stay here again.

Great location. Comfortable bed. Elevator down 3 times in 1 day...everyone including elderly had to walk stairs from higher floors. Tired condition...loose tiles in bath. Minimal towels and pillows. Could go on but you get the drift.....

We arrived for a very late check in - the middle of the night - and our room was still available. Very convenient location right over the border. Friendly staff, clean and spacious room, and they had a free breakfast in the morning.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well taken care of. The highlight was the excellent service, especially from Juanita at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Her professionalism and kindness really stood out.

Hampton is cutting corners on its facility and service. The shower did not have a tub, door, or curtail. Just a shower on one side of the bathroom, they have replaced doors with sliding doors that are clunky and leave an inch open on each side. The breakfast is awful. 5 day old bagels, white bread, and oranges as big as a walnut. NEVER AGAIN Will I stay in Hampton. It used to be much nicer.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The room was infested with bedbugs, and I couldn’t sleep the entire night because of them. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel. I strongly advise others not to stay here.
