The staff were very nice, the room was clean and it was nice a quiet.

Continental breakfast was awful, we went out for breakfast.

The staff was great and very helpful. Bagged breakfast was nice. Meals were very good. Great linens, towels and comfy bed. Wonderful shower.

Price was high considering the location. Wifi frequently cut out and/or lagged. A handful of times every night.

This is a old property that has been remodeled . It is clean and nice . Not bad value for the money

People were very nice. The hotel is a bit old. Limited dining options. However overall was a nice safe place to stay.

The second night an alarm rang in my room from 1:30 am on. The night attendant could hear it too. But nothing to be done about it. I asked for a refund or something, as I never slept the rest of the night. I didnt get anything.

The place needs some TLC and attention to detail with cleaning. Allegedly there is new ownership currently transitioning. An ad is up for staff for various roles but no answers as to more details on the roles. Hopefully whoever takes over has an eye for the maintenance details and upkeep. Night staff member was very helpful and kind.

The reception staff were friendly and kind. The hotel is old and has been smoked in for years; even though there has been a renovation, you can’t remove the smell of smoke and must. If you have breathing conditions, it’s not a good choice. There is no additional locks, no peep holes, just a key. A pedestal sink; no counter tops. Cafe was closed in the morning. No elevator.

The outside of the building is in bad need of repair the place was very clean inside curtains need replacing and the bath tub needs to be replaced

It was very old and outdated

The hotel is a lovely unique building with very clean and comfortable rooms. The bed was SO comfortable, room was bright and mostly quiet (the AC/Fan unit drowns out highway noise) and the restaurant and tavern on site were convenient and tasty. Staff were all super friendly.

The fact that the only locking device on the room doors is a basic doorknob push lock was mildly concerning. A deadbolt or swing bar lock should be absolute bare minimum on a hotel door for basic security. On a more minor note, a towel rack for the sink area would prevent wet hand towels having to sit on the tiny sink counter.

The bed was very comfortable.

No elevator, only a single mirror with no counter space for personal items, only one garbage with none in the bathroom. No instructions on turning on the TV or how to call down to the front desk. The vending machine was empty.

Downside bathroom ceiling paint peeling which didn’t affect my stay. No desk or mirror in main part of room. Bathroom is tiny, sink and small mirror outside bathroom. Not ideal for more than one person to get themselves ready for there day. UPSIDE staff were amazing everything was clean and comfortable

We did not stay because of the smell in the room. It was so bad, My spouse was dry heaving.

Staff friendly and helpful. No elevator. Not handicap accessible. No electrical outlet near bed to plug in CPAP or phone charger.

Excellent service by restaurant and front staff. The room was comfortable, albeit a bit warm upon arrival. Our room faced the highway and was a bit noisy. The room was clean and had no strange odours. It would have been nice to have a microwave, but the fridge was appreciated. A bag breakfast was included, which was a bonus.

I really liked the morning breakfast. the staff was amazing and the room was clean. this hotel is deceiving from the outside but i truly did enjoy my stay.

no one warned me that the water smells so bad in hythe. I couldn’t take an enjoyable shower because i was greeted with sulfer smell every time i turned on the tap. The water being so stinky is the one thing that would make me not want to go back.

Great staff and good food!

The only comment i have is the water. It stinks, and since it's hard ,yoiur skin is still slippery after lots of washing.

Clean. Nice sheets and comfy bed. Great staff. Only complaint was terrible wifi and no TV, “satellite lost communication.”

Loved the grab and go breakfast bag

The water was very hard. Cant even wash the face with this water. The customer service was amazing. During booking the website mentioned free breakfast but it was false info. The breakfast was a bag with two tiny muffin, a yogurt and fruit. I was disappointed on the wrong information.

I found the staff pleasant and professional. Food was great. And found it was a good value

Check in process was wonderful and my associate was so accommodating! Would highly recommend staying at the Grand Marshal Inn as you travel the highway through Hythe.

The hotel is an older small town property, It needs a little polish but it has it where it counts. The staff is very professional, its clean rooms are well appointedand quiet, the food is good.

We had a comfortable stay. Friendly people!

Let’s start with this. The ladies we encountered while our one night stay were the friendliest people you could ever encounter. The check in was as pleasant as one could hope for and truly made you feel like if there was anything you need, they got it handled. The tavern was exactly what we had hoped for. Nice big and open. We had some drinks, played the machines and had a good supper. Waitress overheard my gf and I talking about how we wished we had a deck of cards to play some rummy, within a minute we had that deck of cards along with pen and paper. Now with the negatives. What self respecting establishment in northern Alberta doesn’t have Sportsnet or some way to show the Oilers games? Hey owner, maybe that’s why your amazing bar is always empty? Also, not having the option to have breakfast onsite is a major downside to this place. But as a whole, we enjoyed our stay. Oh, the pillows on the bed were perfect. I greatly considered stealing these pillows.
