Not grand, no luxury and definitely not a boutique hotel. Even the name, among all the hotel details is misleading. The room is tiny and uncomfortable. The worst part is the bathroom which is Spartan, has no tyles and the very little shower is, to say the list – uncomfortable. The reservation department changed my booking dates without my approval, at higher price, and when I asked to return it to the original date they said that they are fully booked and refused to return the money. Tiny room, third world bathroom and horrible reservation and reception. I would not even consider of going there for free.
My wife and I stayed for 3 nights. This hotel is far from luxury. Our room was a small double room with balcony. The bathroom at the most was 1.5m square and had a 76cm square corner opening shower. It was a real squeeze to get in and out of the shower with it's very narrow opening. There were no tiles on the bathroom walls so there was areas of broken plaster and mould. The wardrobe was made from cheap contiboard which had seen better days. One of the ring towel holders fell off the wall and we were concerned that if you touched the bedroom wall mirror that that would also fall off as well. The bedside tables were tree stumps. There was no tea/ coffee making facilities. Most of the hotel interior was painted white and it was all very bland with no paintings or photos to be seen. It just lacked any character. The concrete stairwells reminded me of our local football stadium The one thing going for it is it's location in beautful Argostoli. Pablo, who seemed to be in charge of the restaurant and bar was a real gentleman and very polite and helpful. Casandra in reception was also very nice and polite, helping us with our luggage when we arrived and left. Someone said it is minimalistic which is a understatement
Good stay right in front of the marina.
This is not a Grande Luxury Hotel When we booked this hotel it was advertised as a boutique hotel then the name changed omitting the Boutique There are no colours to the walls other than Black or White the floors were polished concrete as was the lift the shower room was 1.4m square with a shower a sink and a toilet with the door opening into the room if you are 16 stone with a chest measurement of 50 inch you cant get into the shower the hinges to the door were rusty as was the air con grill the Tv socket was hanging off the wall and the telephone never worked , no teaCoffee making facilities Tree stumps for bedside tables and although the room comes with a balcony (£30) per night extra all rooms have a balcony ?? The breakfast was on a table for you to choose for yourself but you could have something hot as long as it was egg or cheese, if the weather was hot the breakfast food is just left out and not on a cooled area. We stayed half board (not recommended) the menu changes every 5 days so twice in the fourteen days we stayed and ate in the restaurant twice the waiter Stakis is a pain, however Pablo at breakfast was a nice man all the taxi drivers refer to the hotel( as not so Grande) and i can only agree.
I would recommend this hotel. It’s very modern, minimalistic but stylish. The breakfast had a wide variety of fresh food (including cooked) which was presented well. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean with daily room service replacing towels, toiletries and bottled water. There was plenty of space in the bedroom and even a small balcony. The staff were great but in particular Casandra the receptionist was really helpful and delightful. The waiter named Paul was extremely efficient at his job and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Thank you for looking after us so well Paul. The location couldn’t be beaten as the hotel is within easy reach of shops, restaurants, ferry port, bus station, etc. Extra drinks and food purchased at the hotel was reasonably priced. If I had to find something to improve I would say more hooks are needed in the bathroom and the inside of the shower could possibly be tiled. The downstairs toilet in the reception area needs a lock on the door. I am being picky now! Overall, it was a great experience staying at the Grand Hotel in Argostoli and we are thinking of returning next year.
The staff were excellent, very pleasant and helpful. Check in was easy and we got our key before the allotted time. The room was very clean and the bed and towels were changed every day. The breakfast had everything that you could ask for, I had poached eggs even though they weren't on the menu. The view from the hotel was amazing. The only downside was the room was extremely small with very little space, so our suitcases had to go out on the balcony from which our view was of 11 solar panels and a corrugated roof. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will probably return.
The rooms - we paid for a superior with sea view and yes, the view is fantastic but the room is small and a bit tired to be honest. It was serviced beautifully every day though. There is no tea/ coffee making facilities but if you ask reception they will give you a kettle and there’s a fridge in the room to store milk. The staff are awesome - and super helpful. The restaurant is lovely and Pablo ( running breakfast ) is a star!! I work in hospitality and wish he was on my team!! Ditto Sakis at night, who knows his wines and is eager to advise, a lovely man. We ate there one night and it was beautiful. I had the most delicious mushroom risotto. All in all a great place to stay, would have given it a 5 but the rooms let it down to be honest
Wonderfully welcoming staff. Excellent location. Very pleasant breakfast experience. We would certainly return!
Property and location were wonderful! Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious.
Hotel is extremely clean, amazing staff from the reception to the chambermaids! a special mention will go to Paul in the restaurant quite unbelievable service with helping me to carry tea to the bedroom to serving breakfast etc nothing was to much trouble, we have been involved with hotels all our lives , he would be a member of staff that l would of liked to poach he is management material!
We stayed at this hotel before and loved it...4 years later we came back and it was just amazing. We had a room at the front of the hotel...yes it was small, as it is a boutique hotel, but it was big enough, spotlessly clean and very modern. The view was perfect. From the time we arrived Cassandra from reception took our bags to the room, she was helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The restaraunt and bar staff were always polite and helpful . We booked half board the breakfast was delicious and we could choose what we wanted from the main menu for our evening meal. The food was really good. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back. Thank You to all the staff for their kind hospitality during our stay and giving us such a wonderful holiday
Just back from a ten night stay at this fantastic hotel. It's located on the marina in the heart of Argostoli. Although it looks out onto the bay and the hills beyond the Grand is only a short stroll from the shops restaurants and bars that Argostoli has to offer. Everywhere in the hotel was spotless. The staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty to choose from at the delicious breakfast buffet. I can thoroughly recommend the Grand and am looking to book again for next year.
A lovely hotel opposite the harbour at Argostoli, with nice clean rooms, and very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was as much as you could eat and covered all tastes. Definitely would recommend this hotel.
Me and my friend and poet Garrett from Hawaii had a peaceful and inspiring stay at the hotel. We loved the spacious lobby, the waterfront restaurant, the modern design, the excellent care of the staff and the concierge. The food and the Kefalonian wines were the best selection of products we found on the island. Cannot recommend it enough. Would love to be back!
A lovely hotel overlooking the harbour in Argostoli. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and you couldn't be made to feel more welcome. The breakfast was amazing with lots of choice for all tastes.
This hotels strongest asset are it's staff. Cassandra and Isabel checked us in and we're great throughout our stay, as were the breakfast, bar and cleaning staff. Location is also great on the seafront a very short walk to the ferry and town center. Lobby and breakfast area are nice and rooms clean. Now to the rooms. They are clean but far from luxury. They are very small and in need of decoration, especially the bathrooms. They are also very noisy with very poor sound proofing. Conversations, ablutions and doors closing from other rooms can be heard with ease. We had a sea facing balcony which had a great view but again was extremely small with barely enough room for two people. All in all great staff but rooms disappointing at this price point.
We first popped in for a coffee & drinks and found it such a lovely place that we went back for an evening meal and we weren’t disappointed. It was delicious, great choice, very friendly and efficient staff & spotless. We will definitely be returning next year.
Just a wonderful hotel , really attentive and helpful staff . Breakfast was fantastic and the staff could not be more helpful in service and making you feel welcome
Amazing place!!!
Loved my stay at the Kefalonia Grand Hotel Amazing staff that treat you like family. Will definitely stay there again in the future
It’s was a very nice hotel, only a little noisy in the mornings.
We had booked, via out travel agent, to stay for 3 nights in the Grand Suite and looking at the hotel online and the reviews (at the time of booking) we thought it was a great choice. Due to a mix up with a booking earlier in our stay at different accommodation (nothing to do with the hotel) we needed to stay an extra couple of nights which we were able to do, in 2 standard doubles. When we arrived we were met by the airy lobby and very helpful and friendly receptionist, Cassandra. The standard rooms we were initially in featured double beds, a small bathroom (just shower, sink and WC with mildew on the shower walls), small balcony with just enough room for a bistro set. There were no drinks making facilties in the rooms but there was a mini fridge and some complimentary water. The bathroom also had complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion plus slippers and dressing gowns. The aesthetic of the hotel is very minimal but overall it left the room feeling basic rather than luxurious with no more to offer than a standard hotel. After the two nights we were then moved up to the Grand Suite. Again overall it felt basic and not very special with minimal extras (robes, slippers, toiletries). The tap over the sink in the bathroom (again just a shower) was coming away from the wall. The aesthetics take pride over functionaility - no hook by the sink for a hand towel, no mirror in the bedroom area to get ready - the shower is also visible from the bedroom so there is no privacy. Again no drinks making facilties - and in both rooms there was a wall mounted tv with only a limited range of Greek TV channels - not a problem for us as we weren't in the room much but I know some would find this an inconvenience. Apart from our initial positive experience with reception overall the staff were not forthcoming. Often talking amongst themselves and I think in the 5 nights we stayed we got one 'good morning' - it was funny how one member of staff was very surly until we mentioned we were moving up to the Suite then she managed to muster a smile! The waiting staff at breakfast and in the evening were lovely, one gentleman whose name we didn't get, was great at breakfast, always cheery and personable. Breakfast offered both a cooked option which was brought to the table (very limited - omlette, scrambled eggs, ham/cheese toast, pancakes with honey, nutella or syrup) or a varied spread served buffet style. We wouldn't stay again, it definitely is a case of style over substance - and having seen more recent reviews I can see others have similar feedback.
This hotel was pretty pricey. You're really just paying for the location which is fabulous. The rooms were TINY and bare bones for this price point. Bed felt like a cot. No tissues in the room, no washcloths. I , as a average size woman barely fit in the shower, I couldnt even bend over to shave my legs! The breakfast was great, as was the man who served us in the mornings, he was the nicest man! This hotel looks nice from the outside, but inside the rooms is a huge disappointment. I wouldnt stay here again.
Excellent assistance from the staff
What makes this property extra special are the staff who go beyond to create an amazing experience. In particular Pablo at breakfast every morning, so attentive and excellent customer service who would bring me water after each morning run and Cassandra at reception. I would come back just to see them again. They made the holiday extra special thank you
Agree with the TA review summary, very well / centrally located, very clean and very friendly service by all staff. Our room ( a superior sea view ) had the essential amenities, but no mini bar, no face clothes or tissues. Air conditioning was very good as was their buffet breakfast. The staff on reception, especially Olga, were very good in helping us organise a private day tour in air conditioned minibus, which was exceptionally good. We did not have dinner here….preferred the outdoor restaurants on the water ( up the street ) or in the mall behind the the hotel. The room, the balcony & the bathroom are all very small for a superior classified room. Only enough room for 1 chair in a room for 2 people. Being 188cm tall, it was also very hard for me to use the toilet & the shower. This is a nice modern hotel …. Plenty of restaurants within 5 - 10 minute stroll. Most boat hires depart across the road….. but the superior classified room is over rated & expensive for what you get when compared to other Greek boutique / 4-5 star hotels Would stay here again, mainly for the location & friendly service.
Lovely reception and service. Room was nicely presented. Quite noisy with doors and the bathroom needed redecorating
A lovely little hotel in the port of Kefalonia. Comfortable room, good air con, nice breakfast. The staff were very friendly, offering tips on where to go and booking taxis. We ate at the hotel one evening and it was a nice meal, reasonably priced.
Wonderful hotel! Great staff. Great patio with a view of the sea!
Great hotel, position excellent. Staff so friendly, welcoming and informative. Great breakfast.
Everything about this property was AMAZING! 1000/10 would stay again! Already planning another trip here with more family members. The property was extremely clean, in a great location and the staff the so so kind. I couldn’t say better things about this hotel :) I felt extremely safe while traveling alone as a single female.
I can only review my personal experience, the kefalonia grand is advertised as a 4 star hotel, i was flying solo so opted for a double room which i paid extra for a lateral sea view, on arrival i was greeted at reception and immediately asked for an extra 100 euros for my 10 night stay, I had to wait and hour until I could get to my room, I was briefly shown around and told i get a free small bottle of water per day, On closer inspection the room was bland, double bed, wonky tv, shower room and wardrobe which contained a tiny fridge and safe, light fittings were in disrepair and the shower room was disgusting, paint peeling of the ceiling and floor, mold stains in the shower and toilet, no considering this was supposed to be a 4 star grand luxury boutique hotel i expected a lot better, tea and coffee making facilities at least, Having complained to the receptionist I was told nothing else similar was available so I contacted the operator who just wasn't interested, The breakfast was fantastic as were the staff but I never dined there as a protest, Argostoli is a beautiful place but the hotel ruined it for me , the room had an air-conditioning unit but after 3 days I developed a raging cough and cold which further compounded my misery, having returned home i contacted the operator who is still investigating, the pictures show the issues and also the fact that the hotel isn't quite finished.
We visited the hotel restaurant for brunch and had a lovely meal. Everything was perfect and the service was great. The bathroom facilities were also of a high standard. I would recommend that you give this restaurant a try and have a great eating experience.
We had the family room and it was spacious and with a fantastic view. I didn’t mind the old fashioned furniture and bathroom but what I didn’t like was that the bathroom flooded every time we had shower (with shower curtain closed). It wouldn’t drain all day so had to wait for cleaners
Paid extra £320.00 for a “superior” double room with a sea view needn t have bothered as this is the same as the double room no difference as informed by receptionist . We went half board , the breakfast was minimal and poor choice and dinner was even worse had very few choices so for a seven night stay very repetative and really poor quality , after complaining to jet 2 rep were informed it was an ongoing issue with this hotel they were told to sort out the half board menu immediately as it was not acceptable so the next day two more dishes were added, the most basic options possible . We paid £2900.00 for a 4 * experience definately did not get it , if you enjoy getting ripped off and eating very little this is the hotel for you . They make a big deal out of giving you 2 free bottles of water every day which cost 25c in the shop next door you will be constantly watched by the waiters making you feel very uncomfortable , the toilets downstairs have a glass door with a half inch gap running down the side ! Have stayed in alot of 4* hotels and this is definately at the top for the worst definately not 4*. Do not understand the good ratings at all .
We just returned from a week-long stay at The Kefalonia Grand and can’t say enough nice things about it! It’s in a great location. It’s across the street from the palm tree-lined harbor where you can go for a stroll or take pictures of the Loggerhead Sea Turtles. You can walk to many shops and restaurants as well as the ferry. They offer a full buffet breakfast as well as lunch, dinner & a full bar. Olga & Marika (concierge) are very helpful with booking excursions, renting a car or calling a taxi. Our "Superior Double Room with Seaview" had a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table.
Very good hotel in the middle of Agrostoli with free parking and good breakfast and dinner, and very good customer service,we will definitely go back there
As a travel agent and a guest at the hotel, I can truly say this was a special experience. The reception team, Kassandra and Olga, were warm and welcoming. Kassandra is full of energy, always smiling and helping everyone. Olga really knows the island and loves what she does – you can feel it when you talk to her. At the hotel bar, Maikis and Sakis were kind, funny, and gave great service. In the morning, we met Matina in the dining room – she was friendly, caring, and always smiling. A lovely way to start the day. The hotel design is beautiful – a mix of modern and boho style, with soft, relaxing colors. The best part is the location: very close to the main square, and the sea view from the rooms is amazing. Even my room with a side view had something special. No doubt – when I come back to Kefalonia, I’ll stay at this hotel again. Big thanks to all the staff for a great stay!
The Kefalonia Grand is situated on the front of Argostoli harbour. It’s location is ideal for all the amenities. The bus station and the ferries are in easy walking distance. My wife and I had a great time staying their. The balcony sea view rooms are a good size and highly recommend. They are cleaned every day and the towels are changed along with your dressing gowns for you comfit. The pillows are superb The breakfast provided had a large variety of food on offer, along with a hot food menu of good quality. The staff at the hotel are fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and they always had welcoming smiles. Highly recommended. Ged & Cathy Latham.
Had a fantastic stay here, lovely comfy beds and fluffy pillows, spotlessly clean, great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast, the staff are all lovely and helpful. Special shout out to Marika who was very helpful on our arrival. The hotel is in an ideal place, a minutes walk to the turtles and 2 minutes to the main square and shops. Highly recommended and we will return.
Good location, lovely staff, rooms a bit small.
Excellent service. Rooms comfortable (a little small though) with very helpful staff. Location is very near to the main square and many restaurants and stores. It is also in front of the water with great views. Kefalonia is a very beautiful island.
Perfect location for seeing the turtles and close to the main square for restaurants. Facing the harbour it is the nicest hotel in Argostoli. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Our room was large, and the balcony had a sea view.
Food variety , quality, service excellent . Public area and bar/ restaurant areas excellent . Service attentive and engaged . Handy to waterfront and pedestrian areas . Bedroom linens cud use an upgrade to keep up with the public area quality . Coffee maker would be nice and in keeping with 4 star level . Overall a great choice in Argostoli
The staff are lovely and really make this hotel. They’re always so cheerful and helpful. The room (superior side sea view) wasn’t what I would call luxury by any means but the bed was comfy and the shower was good so overall we thought it was fine. The rooms just looked a bit tired and small.
The most beautiful hotel by far along the strip, u are right near all the necessities, not to mention the turtles which are 30 seconds away from the hotel. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a superior double room with side seats view and it did not disappoint, sizing was perfect 22m2 and view was phenomenal. Breakfast was quite limited but it was the case everywhere in kefalonia. Amazing location to stay at as you are in close proximity with everything and get greeted by turtles every morning
Lovely hotel on the harbour in Argostoli. Clean, comfortable rooms and well kept public areas. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and the morning staff made us feel very welcome, offering cooked dishes and refilling coffee etc. A central location with plenty of places to eat and drink close by. Would recommend.
Just had a week at the kefalonia boutique hotel and could not fault anything ! The room had a view of the port , that was very nice. The room was spacious , clean and had various shower wash , shampoo etc replaced daily free of charge. Breakfast was amazing with full continental and a menu for eggs cooked anyway you like ,again all included in the cost . All of the staff were polite, welcoming , friendly and very helpful . Location is perfect for all local restaurants and the beach was a short taxi ride at 8 euros. Don’t forget to see the turtles at 9.30 am opposite the hotel , I will be returning next year !
This hotel, despite the excellent reviews, Is certainly not 4*. The location was excellent & we had a balcony over looking the sea, so no problem there. We had paid far more for this hotel than usual, so expected a higher standard. How disappointing! The rooms are very small & you can hear conversations in the next room. We had a damaged hairdryer & a rusty fridge. Before we arrived I had contacted the hotel when realising there was no pool & was told that arrangements could be made to take us to another hotel for a swim. Not so! When we arrived were told we would have to either find a beach or get our own taxi. What we were most disappointed with were the breakfast selection with cold meats, cheese, butter & yoghurt not in or on a chilled shelf/cabinet & left sitting on a table in the heat. We could not fault the staff who were very friendly & helpful. We having been travelling overseas at least twice a year for the last 30 & have never complained, so make of that what you will!!
Wonderful staff and great location.
Beautiful hotel and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Just wish there was tea and coffee available in the room and a fridge.
Just had a lovely stay in this hotel for 2 weeks lovely sitting having breakfast facing the harbour and sitting in the evening having a drink all staff very friendly from reception, waiting staff in a morning always nice and polite and the cleaning lady doing our room everyday we was there they all work very hard ,breakfast very nice different to the usual breakfast, greek yoghurt ,pancakes ,omelette fresh fruit bread & pastries would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again
This hotel was great with very friendly staff. The breakfast was lovely with a menu for cooked food which was waiter service and also the option of cereals, and continental breakfast too with croissants, cheeses, fruit, and much more. Pavlos and Martina were really efficient and attentive and friendly and smiley at breakfast. The reception staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful we dealt mainly with Olga and Cassandra and they were very nice, friendly and informative. The lady who cleaned our room did a great job keeping us well stocked with toiletries and clean towels every day. She was always very cheerful and friendly. We had slippers and bathrobes in our room which was a nice treat. We paid extra for a sea view room but it was well worth it, the view was spectacular there was a bit of traffic noise but it did quieten down after about 11.00pm again this didn't bother us either. The reception area is bright, clean and modern, the room was a little small as was the bathroom but that didn't bother us. We would recommend this hotel.
We chose to stay at the Kefalonia Grand for the 5 days around our wedding and what a stay it was. The staff are so friendly and incredibly helpful. Rooms are kept clean and fresh. The views from the rooms at the front of the hotel are truly excellent. The only slight (very slight) challenge we had was when checking out, one of the charges was wrong for one of the rooms. The lady on reception though did all she could to help and eventually the error was rectified. This was a minor poiny. All in all an absolutely brilliant stay. We can't wait to stay again when we come back.
We have just got home from a perfect week at the Kefalonia Grand Hotel. The hotel is absolutely lovely and in a beautiful area facing the harbour. We had a double room with a balcony and it was brilliant, we had everything we needed n the room including a fridge. The toiletries were the best I've ever had, they smelt divine! We made use of the balcony at night and morning. The room was kept very clean by a really lovely housekeeping lady! She was very bubbly and replenished the toiletries and towels daily. The receptionists are amazing and very welcoming and helpful! We received welcome drinks on our arrival which were lovely! The food and drinks are delicious and served by some really lovely waiters and waitresses who are so happy and cheerful and really look after you! They work long hours but are constantly happy and smiley. The hotel itself is lovely with beautiful decor. I am so pleased that we chose to stay there, it was the most perfect setting for our holiday and completed our perfect week. I honestly would recommend the Kefalonia Grand Hotel. We will definitely be back and will recommend it to our family and friends!
Lovely hotel with great staff. Breakfast was really good with both a continental buffet and a menu to chose hot food from. Special mention to Martina and Pavlosh who served us at breakfast, both very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We ate from the evening menu on one night which was also very nice and reasonably priced. And the cocktails were delicious The location is great for exploring the island and for seeing the turtles every morning. No pool or beach close by but this didn't bother us. The hotel and rooms are spotless and staff on reception are lovely. A great week and we will definitely be back.
The hotel reaches out to us (telling us to call them) the same morning of the reservation start date. They told us the hotel was overbooked and that Expedia never reached out to us. We where in the middle of a tour on the Acropolis and it made our experience very bad. The person in charged tried helping me find another hotel but just sent a few names of hotels in the area. Be careful and confirm with the hotel before being sure your booking is confirmed
We were so excited to be staying at this hotel but sadly on our arrival we were told our room wasn’t available as the previous occupants were sick and couldn’t be moved ! They had nowhere to put us ! We had to go to another hotel in lassi for a few days. The reception staff were hopeless to say the least no manager anywhere to be seen. After a lot of work by our jet2 rep we eventually arrived at the kefalonia grand only to be told the room we had paid for ( a suite with a sea view) didn't exist and had never existed !!! We now could only have a room with a side view. We were furious our holiday was one fiasco after another ! Reluctantly we took it after we had no other choice ! We noticed that other guests were having the same problem not getting rooms they had booked and paid for or rooms being small and substandard. Honestly on reading previous reviews I wondered if we were at the same hotel ! On the plus side the morning breakfast staff were outstanding and maybe management and reception staff should take a leaf out their book ! A good spot to explore kefalonia but I would check and double check to make sure you know what you’re getting before you arrive.
Very nice property in a good location
Avoid these reservation crooks!! . They will take reservations and payments for your chosen room but when you arrive they will casually give you another room and hope you don’t notice it is not the room you booked. They have another trick of trying to convince you the room they have allocated is an upgrade because it’s two square meters larger Or convince you that is you staring your neck you can see the sea somewhere for it is a sea view room- which it most definitely not. . Get rid of the reservations department as they are giving your hotel a bad name which is a pity because the hotel is beautiful and the breakfast staff is amazing. Daily, guests are fighting with reception because the reservations teams have totally messed up the bookings. This is certainly not the way guests want to start their holiday. As said- pity your reservations department has pulled this hotel name through the mud.
We came here twice during our holiday. We would Highly recommend to anyone wanting an evening meal. Service was impeccable. Food delicious and Coctails heavenly. The surroundings and ambience relaxing. Fantastic location on the harbour, thank you !……………..
Great location. Beautiful hotel and amazing friendly staff
Front desk and morning breakfast staff were lovely. The location is centre of the main town. For the price paid, there are better options with better facilities/ locations.
Room tiny, looked tired, didn’t complete our stay
We stopped here for a drink while out in Argostoli, our baby was sleeping in the push chair so it was great to have huge fans blowing out on the terrace and the flow of air con from the reception lobby it kept us all cool! Drinks came with some crisps and it was lovely sitting here watching the world go by. The hotel lobby are toilets are beautiful! We will visit again :)
The property was accesible around the area....did not like when other guest slanmed their doors and we could heard it in our bedroom suite late at night
Stayed there for a full week. The air conditioning in my room leaked on two separate occasions. The front desk did nothing to remedy the situation for the inconvenience it caused me to have to stay around to have their strange “handyman” “fix it”. His “fix” was to replace the bucket of water from the ceiling under the AC to a bigger bucket. I booked a king bed, they gave me a full. The bed itself was very uncomfortable so it was likely an old mattress. The bathrooms are cracking and smell of sewer. There is zero insulation so I could hear every person in the hallway walking and talking. Overall not by any means worth the price. The lobby and outside look new and grand but the rooms are all 2 star worthy. Also make sure you ask for receipts. They refer out to local companies (boat charters, taxis, tours) that also won’t give you receipts either. Even when asked, they make excuses as to why they can’t generate a receipt. I told the manager that I legally have the right to a receipt and she said she would eventually email it to me.
Great location
We had such a fabulous stay! Ideal location, excellent breakfast and the staff were just lovely! Thank you so much.
Very nice property right on the promenade with the town square on your back. Hip and greek vibes all over. For the price, i wish they would offer guests vouchers for beach access since the hotel doesnt have its own beach facility. I have a billing issue with them that is still pending. I got charged twice on my credit card which got me overdraft by the bank! I also contacted expedia about this.
The property is beautiful and in close proximity to all shopping and dinning areas, the staff is very friendly and attends to all your needs promptly.
Great location in Argostoli. Breakfast was great, rooms looked out over the harbor.
Perfect location and lovely views. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Would have been nice to have tea/coffee facilities in the room and at least 1 English News Channel on TV
We only stayed one night as we had to change our initial arrangements. Reception arranged taxi pickup from airport (30eu). Ok, a bit expensive for a short ride but enabled us to travel hassle free and get to know the route for next day when we picked up a hire car. Lovely surprise to have an upgrade for room. Excellent facilities and wide balcony overlooking harbour. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Breakfast was amazing. Wide selection of fruit, pastries, cereals, cheese etc plus omelettes made to order. Good coffee. Easy walk to bus stop for airport. This is also where the ferry goes across to Lixouri about every 30 mins. Watched lorries, cars and vans backing into it. A bit scary. We drove instead.. highly recommend staying in this boutique hotel
Amazing staff! So friendly, especially at breakfast each morning and check in. We loved our stay and would definitely come back !
Very smart hotel. Friendly staff and perfect location and size. Only downside was the aircon in the room was not nearly powerful enough. I’d stay here again though
Hotel is on the waterfront. Easy strolling from there around Argostoli. Staff very helpful. Excellent breakfast. We had a water view which was worth the extra. The daytime restaurant / bar snack menu isn’t very Greek but there are other nearby options if that’s your thing.
A very nice boutique hotel! The room was lovely and clean! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is hard to beat at you are right on the bay and in the heart of the town. Breakfast was a large buffet with a choice of ordering off a small menu and the restaurant at the hotel was very tasty for dinner as well. I would absolutely stay here again!
This is a great boutique hotel located on the waterfront. There are many restaurants in the vicinity and all within easy walking distance. Staff are very helpful and were very gracious in accommodating a late checkout for us. Breakfast is excellent and hotel offers indoor and patio dining. Special thanks to Olga and Iro at the front desk and Pavlos and Martina at the restaurant.
Great location within a few minutes walking distance from the main square with access to plenty of cafes, restaurants, bakery and shops. The hotel is average. Small room with very small bathroom without windows but it was cleaned every day. The breakfast was poor especially when considering a Greek hotel. No local products or fresh fruits and vegetables, no selection of savoury or sweet dishes. During Easter it would be good to offer traditional sweets to introduce a local flavour.
Location was nice. Lobby was nice. Staff exceptionally kind and attentive. Rooms were tired and lower quality…needs refreshing. The seaside rooms were better. Best description of the rooms would be bohemian industrial. Could hear the shower and toilet flush from the neighboring room. I am sure they could hear ours also.
Great
Fabulous breakfast, great sea view from balcony
Gave our room to someone else so we stayed in a much smaller room for the price of the larger one because they were totally booked out. Hotel is in perfect location, very walkable. The food was decent. It was clean & well laid out. Parking outside wasn’t bad unless you drove late. But, we were very disappointed that the room we paid for was not what we received. Hotel pointed to Travelocity saying they hadn’t been paid. Travelocity couldn’t do anything about the room.
The rooms are the size of a shoe box. They do not specify true measurements of rooms. The staff is good.
We stayed for six nights as part of our honeymoon and wished we had more time at the hotel in Agostoli. Their Breakfast bar was very generous and amazing (must try the local yoghurt), can’t fault the lovely staff and service was excellent everyday. We had a sea view room which showed us the lovely island nature and at night sitting on the balcony having a coffee and seeing the vibrant streets which came alive! We will stay here again, thank you
I did not like the smell of Javel/Bleech throughout the hotel. Room was too small. Get a room with view. Staff is great.
Staff was amazing very welcoming very accommodating I highly recommend this hotel for an amazing stain location was excellent
The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom it was very small don’t accept room G2 it’s bathroom is unacceptable at all.
Absolutely wonderful staff & location. Staff were incredible, and made every effort to make our stay a memorable one.
Short break
Kefalonia Grand Hotel is perfectly situated on the seafront in Argostoli with easy access to the town, bars and restaurants. The staff go the extra mile to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The breakfast is excellent. The rooms are clean and well appointed though a little small.
Great location right by the waterfront, which has restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. Also, even though the hotel does not offer parking, we could always find a free parking spot right out front (May 2023). The hotel is modern and very well maintained. Breakfast was included and it had a good selection of cereals, fruit, breads, baked goods and sweets. Also, a limited menu of eggs/omelettes (however, would not recommend the pancakes). Last but not least, the staff are wonderful. Joanna at the front desk was very helpful; Timos in the dining area was charming and informative; and all the others were always friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend visiting Kefalonia, which has AMAZING beaches (you could walk to Costa Costa beach which is about 40 mins walk - very pleasant in May although likely brutally hot in July/August) or drive to either Antisamos or the magnificent Myrtos beach.
Wow! Words can not describe the experience. The staff, I mean everybody, were amazing. The location is perfect. Nicest hotel along the port in our opinion. Don’t hesitate. Book it!
Fantastic friendly and helpful service! The corridors and doors are noisy if you like a nap or early night. Our standard double room was very small so upgrade before going as it was full when we went and couldn’t change to a bigger room.
We had a fantastic stay at the Kefalonia Grand Hotel. The rooms were beautiful, the location excellent, and the staff (especially Marika) went above and beyond!
This hotel is perfectly located, staff is very professional and amicable and the room was amazing…spacious, comfortable, modern, nice view…
Quick and easy check-in - Marika was extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. We stayed in a jetted tub suite on the top floor. The room was absolutely stunning with a fantastic terrace overlooking the harbour area. Fair selection of food on breakfast buffet - with coffee served by friendly staff (coffee making facilities in the room were not available but would have been useful). The hotel itself is a 2 minute walk from the lively main square and shopping area with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. We took the ferry over to Lixouri one day and also a taxi over to Makri Gialos beach which was absolutely amazing! Marika also organised our private transfer up to Fiskardo at the end of our stay when we made good use of the day with a tour of the island taking in many beautiful sights with a fantastic driver called Harris. All in all we had a great stay at the Kefalonia Grand ❤️
