Reviewed Sep 11, 2026This is a fabulous budget accommodation that clearly has been run by the same people for a long time. Jose and the other staff are super helpful and friendly with tips about what to see and do and where to eat and drink. The accommodation is very close to the bus and train stations and conveniently located to explore the old town. I booked this because of its proximity to the transport links, to both get to and from Algeciras but also the local bus service to La Linea to access the Rock of Gibraltar. The room was large with a full kitchen and bathroom, a large fridge and cool air conditioning. This would be a great room to base yourself for a number of days if you wanted to self-cater.
Nothing.

The location isn't great. While Algeciras is nice and this hotel is only a 20 minute walk from the port and a 5 minute walk from the train station the neighborhood definitely had weird vibes. I never saw anyone outside, even after Spain won the world cup. A 5-10 minute walk and there was some activity, a really nice park, and the city center, but this neighborhood was silent.
