Staff & Service excellent. Friendly locals in the Bar area which is a great dog friendly area. Wine list selection very good and reasonably priced.
Severe mould in Shower and structural cracks in a main bedroom area wall. Standard of cookery, and complete lack of hot water on the second morning.
Location excellent. Great that we could all fit in 1 room. Would prefer interconnecting rooms but hard to cater for a family of 5 so that was great.
Sofa bed a little small for 2
Nice hotel. Nice room.
Just beware bar & kitchen all closed by 5pm & 3.30 pm respectively on Sundays. Nothing else in easy walking distance. Clear on their website (we later saw) but NOT on Booking.com that we booked through. That said dinner was very good (very early for us) & beer good until 5pm. Then nothing Breakfast was very hit & miss. Cooked breakfast covered in Garlic? Not for me & not requested. Waitress just disappeared off the face of the earth so did not get toast, tea refill etc. Not so good
Convenient for where we wanted to be. Breakfast excellent. Good car park.
Had to ask for new towels. Room 10 very dark.
the location. Have used the Coppleridge for c.20 years so nothing new was expected.
In a heatwave noticed there was no fridge. No a/c is understandable in a property this old but no fridge is unacceptable. Thought the restaurant had declined in choice and quality - main courses limited and breakfast included a whiffy sausage.
Having a dog, it was lovely to be able to walk her through the grounds & off the lead as it's enclosed. The gardens are great. The room was plenty big enough, quiet and comfortable. The en-suite shower was tiny, but it did the job!
Nothing
Excellent location, good sized clean room. Terrace with great views over the country side Friendly and helpful staff.
Unfortunately both days breakfast was a bit of a challenge. First morning about 15 people for breakfast and with only one waitress working my breakfast was barely warm and scrambled egg was really salty. Second day less people as we ate later but no bowls or side plates on the table and my poached egg still had part of its shell stuck to it.
Wunderschöne Landschaft. Sehr idyllisch gelegen.
Great location, lovely room and great food. Staff were very welcoming

A beautiful location, comfortable rooms
This is a gem - lovely place, rooms are built in what look like stable blocks surrounding a yard that doubles as an outdoor seating area complete with a bar - evidently used for wedding functions. Lovely comfortable bed (Room 4) that overlooked farmland - truly beautiful spot. Ate in the restaurant - had a Chateaubriand steak - simply stunning,
It's hard to be picky but there was mould on the ceiling of the shower and the spiders had moved into the corners of the room - minor attention to detail thing.
Location beautiful. Room And en-suite spacious and spotless

Nous avons adoré la facilite pour venir, se garer, le pub et le petit dejeuner, les tables dehors et les terrains de tennis, la région, l'accueil, et la chambre etait tres biena vec de lits confortables.

The location was lovely, the pub and food were great and lots of outside seating
Booked a king room but felt the bed was not a king size
Das Landpup liegt in einer hügeligen Landschaft direkt neben Schafweiden. Es ist herrlich friedlich. Man kann im Garten gutes Essen geniessen, das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Gorgeous location and views for miles! The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially giving us a priority check-in so we could get ready and leave early for a wedding that afternoon. The rooms were absolutely perfect for what we needed, accommodating five adults in a family room for such good value. Lovely breakfast, and we got some pizza's too which were delicious!
Can't think of anything!
Good sized room for family. Good shower. Nice pub. Friendly staff
Cooked breakfast a bit salty. Could do with more cereal selection.
Great location and a nice room. Food was also very good.
*The owners were really friendly on arrival and throughout, as were all the other staff we met. *I had called ahead for early check in and the team were able to get our room ready for us for midday. *The food in the restaurant was delicious. *The room was a nice temperature despite how hot it was outside. *They had the world cup on in the restaurant/pub at midnight and there was a really good atmosphere in there, but when we went back to our room we weren’t disturbed by any noise. *Loads of parking. *Lots of food options and areas to eat.
Wonderful location Delicious food.
Pillows not very comfortable
The location was lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful
The room was tired and in need of redecorating
It had all the ammenities needed and a new pizza oven!
Location
Rooms dated, no EV chargers
Vast room, nicely decorated
Grouting in the shower could be refreshed. Would have appreciated a better quality coffee option rather than instant nescafe
Location was fantastic, with parking; buildings have great character and aspect, courtyards, terraces and views over the fields. Restaurant food, both for the evening and the included breakfast, was exceptionally good. Issue with TV in room (World Cup was on), but resolved as staff switched TV for us.
Nothing not to like!
The property is lovely. Rooms very clean. Food available in restaurant was delicious too. Great family room for a couple of adults and (large) kids
Pillows flat & hard. No early check out option for breakfast. That’s about it.
Everything about it.
So quiet! Friendly staff nice beds. Great food
Shower plumbing absolutely terrible but still a 5* overall.
Lovely pub and comfortable accommodation.
Nothing.
Delightfully located in beautiful Dorset countryside with magnificent views. Easy parking and very welcoming staff. Lovely food and very good value for money.
Soundproofing between rooms a bit of an issue - certainly the one we stayed in (Room 7).
Staff were lovely, great location, very comfortable room.
Rooms are ground floor with great views over the gardens and beyond, the downside is that people are constantly walking past and looking in so no privacy unless you close the curtains.
Idyllic setting with lovely staff and delicious food and drink
It’s a small thing but beds and pillows left a little to be desired.
The location is unrivalled. It is absolutely beautiful and sits in grounds of around ten acres. There are sheep and cows in the fields and it is absolutely picture perfect. At the front of the entrance to the room there are tables with parasols for al fresco dining. We stayed over and had breakfast, there was an excellent choice and it was well cooked and tasty. They have recently built a magnificent Wedding Venue and I can't think of a more pleasant way to celebrate overlooking the wonderful views.
There's nothing bad to say about the place.
Nice.
Nothing
Everything was perfect. There were sheep & little lambs in the surrounding fields, and beautiful views from our rooms. The dinner we had was exquisite, the outdoor seating perfect for a warm evening. Staff was all very accommodating and attentive and kind. Breakfast was generous and delicious. We loved nearby Shaftesbury, and really had fun there. Really can't wait to return to the Coppleridge.
We wouldn't change a single thing! This is obviously a place that is extremely well run by very thoughtful people.
The friendly staff and breakfast
Nothing to complain about!
Todo!! Lugar increible, recomiendo mucho visitarlo.
A very pleasant countryside inn and the restaurant has very good food.
Very friendly Staff and helpfull
Nothing
The room was clean, comfortable and in a lovely location. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. But what stood out the most was the staff - welcoming, friendly and they all went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Thank you!
Couldn't fault it.
Prachtige ligging, mooie gebouwen, leuke kamers, super personeel, leuke bar en een fantastisch ontbijt
Lovely friendly Staff Superb Evening Meal / Breakfast good too! Accommodation very clean and comfortable Plenty of parking
Nice, peaceful place to stay. Friendly and helpful staff.
The food was delicious and the pub was cosy and the staff were really friendly. We had a family room that fitted the five of us in one room which wasn’t luxurious but was good value for money. Countryside location, about 20 mins on foot to the village, nice views. Spacious outdoor spaces, including a walk through bluebell woods. We had a lovely stay
This was an absolutely charming little gem that we found when needing to find somewhere to stay to break the journey down the A303. Despite us only booking an hour before arriving, the staff were so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable and incredibly peaceful for an amazing night’s sleep. And the breakfast was excellent. Couldn’t have been happier with this find.
Nothing.
Close to my brothers home so very convenient.
We had a terrible cold when we stayed and that’s about it 🤣
The room was perfect, the view exceptional. The bathroom was well equipped with both a walk in shower and a bath.
Nothing
Food and breakfast exceptional quality
A few weodlice in bathroom but disappeared after a while
Charming property and staff who were all very welcoming for kids and dog.
None.
Large comfortable en-suite bedrooms all with outside access. Excellent food served in either the restaurant or intimate pub rooms all with real fires. Friendly, obliging and hospitable hosts who took over in August 2025 and who have great plans to upgrade and improve the facilities. We look forward to staying again.
We liked everything about the place and our stay.
The owners and staff were amazing and went over and beyond !
The rooms were little tired
Great location lovely countryside Big room and comfortable and clean Great breakfast
Location
The staff pressured me during dinner to take our orders then got the food selection wrong all in all not worth the £88 spent
Loved the room and very comfortable bed. Lovely and warm. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits.
Very nice shower but the bathroom was spacious with a stone floor which was freezing, the only heating came from a towel rail.
From the moment we walked in it was an absolute pleasure to be greeted by one of the owners of the Inn, she was so helpful and kind and even went out of their way even though lunch had passed to get us some hot soup, bread and a drink. You could ask for anything more The food in the restaurant was absolutely first class although a bit expensive it was well worth the extra money. I found I was about to leave and found I had a puncture two members of staff i.e. the manager and another gentleman called Bob took the trouble of changing my tire for me to get me out of this problem. All I can say about the staff and our stay was it was well well above average. Thank you so much for all that you did for us. Everybody that is going in that direction should stay there. It’s amazing.
The atmosphere, the staff, accommodation, were all above above average well well above average.
Breakfast was fine. The stay would have been fine too if our arrival had been dealt with in a manner one would expect from any reasonable and professionally run hotel. As it was we arrived at 3pm - the time stated for arrivals and after confirming that by phone. We were told that the room was not ready and to sit and wait for 20-30 minutes. We were tired after a long journey and due to attend a funeral 'celebration of life', a couple of hours later, so said we weren't happy with this. About 10 minutes later we were told another room had been found for us, but then were told it wasn't available after all! At this point the owner appeared, told us to follow him to our room, enroute announcing that the cleaner would still be there for 20 minutes or more! Having responded that that was not practical for anyone, he told us firstly that we were lucky that they were not a 4pm arrival hotel like most others, and that we were lucky that his cleaner was prepared to work a longer shift in order to clean it for us! I could not believe my ears!! The term 'Faultyesque' ( Basil Fawlty) came to mind. We were furious at his audacity! We told the cleaner it was not her fault and had to wait for another 20-30 minutes before accessing the room, having been told to sit in the garden and enjoy the views! I am afraid that initial incident ruined what could have been a short but pleasant stay.
See above.
Breakfast meal ok, pleasant young lad serving. Bed was comfortable.
Shower door did not shut without a good hard slam. Main door into the room had a big split down the middle Bathroom door massive gaps top and bottom Wardrove door not finished rough edges NO heating available chilly at even/night time
i live in herefordshire but work in fovant two days a week. i stay away once a week and a fast simple check in is perfect. key left in the door is fine for me.
Ambience service and meals
Nothing. I enjoyed a good night's stay
The guest bedrooms were cute, the bar was accessible and the breakfast was quaint.
It was freezing, genuinely, so cold in the bedrooms, heating unable to be accessed ourselves. We arrived late after a family bereavement and left for breakfast early, soooo cold.
The staff were excellent a wonderful breakfast with all we wanted or needed .nothing was beyond to make eating a pleasure .the accommodation was clean but tired but the price was great so for what it was we were very happy it housed 4 adults and 2 children was heated bedding supplied with milk and tea and coffee sugar etc there for us on arrival .
Nothing to be honest
Staff very friendly. Could not do enough for you
A fantastic place to stay exceptional and friendly staff great food and beer
Nothing to dislike
The staff and service were impeccable. The room was cozy and spotless

Fabulous room with excellent pub & restaurant, The owners and staff were amazing
A wonderful stay at this fabulous Inn. Perfect room with amazing views. So convenient for our visit to family.
Nothing, only that we wished we had booked two nights stay .
Overall, it was a really lovely place. Perfect find for a family with 3 children, with a room big enough for all 5 of us to stay together. Really delishious food and very friendly staff too.
very friendly staff,
room a little dated
