Salmon River Country Inn

A neat hotel with nice restaurant that has great river views. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was a bit small but comfortable. There is a living room. Breakfast is a typical German breakfast.

There was no room available. We came back to eat , but had to stay elsewhere.

Water view

Very clean

Just letting you know there is no TV, the internet was great though. We did request a queen bed and got two twins beds instead. The dinning room was good and food was great.

Friendly staff, clean property.

All rooms on second floor. No television in the rooms. But. Rooms were quaint and comfortable. Restaurant food was very good. We left early before breakfast was served so we can’t comment on that.

Friendly and helpful staff. Small but very clean rooms. Lovely view over the water with a beautiful sunset .Breakfast had lots of variety. Dinner with entertainment lovely treat.will recommend to anyone visitong the area.

Lovely place to stay and such welcoming hosts. Would definitely stay again

Very good food we were late getting in kitchen was closed and the ladies opened the kitchen for us and cooked us something to eat very quaint Victorian style home. Beautiful views rooms were small but comfortable.

The staff was amazing The restaurant stayed open longer for us. Cute place to stay!

Pleasantly surprised. It is a very charming place inside with a lot of history. Staff is very pleasant. However the bed was well broken in ( big dip in middle) and could use some curb appeal. It has more positive then negative features.

Nostalgic and chararistic

The inn and restaurant are in a historic house. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were helpful. The food in the restaurant was very good and featured some German choices.

Easy access. Close to Halifax. Good restaurant.

Just lovely. My only complaint is the bathroom sink was slow to drain. Enjoyed our stay.

The Salmon River Country Inn is a treasure situated near the Head of Jeddore. Everything that we wanted was within a short driving distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The food at the Mermaid Eatery was fantastic. All of the staff were approachable and accommodating. I highly recommend this gem of a country inn.

Great place. Good food.

Nice Inn.

Nice place and very clean. They accommodated me with a very late check-in too. Thanks

Unique family run guest house with great German food.

The place is extremely clean and the food is made by the owner who has her master s in cooking. The owner, Margit, is one of the most loving and gracious people you will ever meet. I highly recommend this place especially since it’s on the water.

No fridge or tv in room, beds uncomfortable. Nice bathroom and restaurant good tho’. Breakfast was good and they had entertainment when we were there - he was great.

Excellent view and good breakfast

Older home that once was the owners residence with restaurant attached, Molly made check in easy . Rooms are cozy and clean. Comfortable bed , being an older home there is no refrigerator in the room but a unit is provided downstairs along with coffee, tea making facilities. We ate at the restaurant in the evening, great food with a German theme. Entertainment provided by a local musician, Guitar and some self composed songs . If eating at the restaurant recommend making a Reservation as it is busy . Breakfast provided next morning.

Loved the historical B&B

Great location; just off of highway 7. Close to water, stores. The view is breathtaking. The friendly staff are welcoming and helpful. Margot's supberb food makes you want more. The room was very clean. Will definitely return.

A lovely old house. Cosy, comfortable and clean old building combined with a friendly greeting and elegant furnishings all make for a lovely stay. We stayed in room #7 which is spacious, with a king sized bed and a bath. A couple of other rooms were smaller and looked a bit cramped but still very nicely furnished.

The best thing about this property is its location - right on the river. The room could use a Reno - pretty old.

Very comfortable accommodation on the bank of the Salmon River. Very clean with warm, welcoming staff. Restaurant with great view and unique food choices, including traditional German foods. Excellent breakfast buffet.welccoming.staff

Great old-fashioned, no frills, place that provides the basics for an overnight. Restaurant in the facility was good and nothing to complain about breakfast either

Delightful experience

Peaceful, warm and unique

Large, clean room. A little dated but lots of space. Bathroom was big and more updated. Great shower! Comfy bed. A/C worked well and was quiet. Nice view. I would book here again.

Excellent

It was very lovely and the onsite restaurant was a bonus with a choice of Canadian and German cuisine and the owner is very sweet!

Bed and breakfast style inn with a few rooms. the dinner we had out on their deck was the best part. the food was very good. the included breakfast was basic, not much to say on that. wifi was good, the room was small, and the bed needs replacing. there are no TVs in the rooms, so we watched stuff on my laptop after dinner. the sunset over the river after dinner on the deck was amazing.

Second year that I've stayed at this Inn. Pleasant, quiet surroundings, clean room and excellent meals. Great spot to venture out to Clam Harbour or Martinique Beaches.

Check-in was a bit awkward on a Tuesday-- but overall experience was great. Room was beautiful with home-made quilts, and deck/grounds were an AWESOME sunset spot watching loons diving for dinner in the Salmon River. Shout-out to staff for making laundry happen!

We had such a wonderful experience at the Salmon River Country Inn! We felt so comfortable in the space and welcomed by the staff for the duration of our stay. Beautiful surrounding areas too!

Funky, unique, out-of-the-way. Tight, tight bedrooms. Great dinner offerings. Wonderful staff. Owner on site and in control of every aspect for guests. Fun. Great sunsets just off back deck.

Amazing quiet place beside the river; very hospitable owners that make very delicious food!

I loved staying here. It’s quite the restaurant is downstairs, and had great food, the staff were all wonderful, the bed and room was comfortable. Only downside was I arrived during dinner and had to park my motorcycle off to the side. I moved it closer about two hours later.

Very nice inn with relaxing deck and Adirondack chairs by the river. Comfortable room and nice staff. Restaurant on site had many options to choose from. Dinner was fantastic! Breakfast only had a few options but was good.

Well located, in a convenient and lovely area. The staff was very nice and the diner we had there was good. The bedroom was cute however the mattress was a bit too soft for us.

The river view. Old historic building.

Very clean and quite place to stay, right on the river with beautiful scenery. On site dining was very convenient. Very country and nostalgic feel to it, simple yet clean and very well organized. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

酒店交通方便，早餐不错

Very clean and very homey environment. Really liked nostalgic feel to it and the location by the river was amazing. The staff were great and very accommodating.

Delightful hotel with amazing river view. Room very small but just ok for one night. Excellent German beer

Beatiful deck. Scenic sunset. Great food staff service. Ultra friendly. Personable. Homestyle ambiance. Variable international friendly guests.

Great quiet gem in the middle of nowhere.

The facilities were excellent. the dining room was great, the hosts were wonderful.

The property has a wonderful atmosphere. It is set beside a very nice river and offers a unique dining experience. I would highly recommend staying here and the value is incredible.

Convenient location. Room was a bit cramped. A bit of highway traffic. Lovely water view. Accomodating staff.

The service was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful

Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful setting.

Beautiful, quaint inn, friendly, down to earth staff, delicious food.

Enjoyed a delicious supper at the inn and a quiet comfortable sleep in the cottage.

It is the people that make this a memorable place to stay. Everyone is so friendly, kind & helpful. Very quiet at night despite being next to a major road. We stayed over a Sunday night & it was only at breakfast the next morning we realized we were not the only guests! Be aware this is an older property, there are stairs to climb, & no tv although wifi is excellent. Make sure to take in the sunset from the deck, it really is spectacular.

We didn't stay. The accommodations did not meet our needs.

Very nice place, friendly staff, and they serve great food. An apple strudel was something to write home about!

Bed was a little uncomfortable but it was a very Cute place to stay

We liked how attentive the staff was. Our only complaint was a noisy get together one night that kept us awake.

No TV in rooms Service was great.

We had an excellent stay at Salmon River Country Inn. Clean, quiet rooms, excellent staff and great food. Just minutes away from excellent beaches and walking trails.

Salmon River is by far the nicest inn (of four) that we stayed at during our NS vacation. Our room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the river. The grounds are gorgeous with ample room outside to enjoy a drink or delicious supper from their restaurant. Their staff ensured we had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Thanks!

A small, family-run inn. Fabulous location, friendly staff, good food. The owner actually walked down to the sea to get water to boil our lobsters! If you are looking for an authentic experience that is NOT a chain hotel, this is it!

Wonderful place. The owner takes great pride in providing a fantastic place to stay. The breakfast was perfect , and what a setting overlooking the water! Would definitely stay there again.

This was a very nice homie hotel. Enjoyed our stay.

I have booked a number of trips over the years in expedia. This is the first time I felt like taking the time to write a review. What went from being just a place to stay to check out the area, ended up being a highlight of our trip. The property is amazing and has no shortage of character. The property owner and staff are some of the nicest heart warming people we have ever met. Some of the scenery around the area was very nice. But the stay was definitely a highlight. We will come back again the next time we are in the area. I feel Salmon River Country Inn is under rated and if any group of people deserve a visit, its these folks.

A

Such a sweet little place! Very welcoming and with me being celiac I was very surprised with the special accommodations for the continental breakfast! The price was amazing for the quality of the room and service! Also has an amazing view! Thank you for making my sisters birthday stay a special one! :)

The property is clean and beautiful. Margret, the owner was very nice. Only downside is that it is not close to anything and there are no tv's

Very nice

Quiet gem. Near the water always awesome Wonderful hospitable staff and owner and great food Good coffee

On site restaurant always serves guests even on days closed to the public!

The view was very nice. Being able to eat there and having options was great. Staff friendly

Quaint beautiful spot

My wife and I had a great stay. We will most definitely come back!!

A comfortable Country Inn. Great food and every staff person was lovely, friendly and helpful.

It was a really nice place to visit. I only wish that the rooms had televisions and a fridge. It ended up raining quite a bit during our stay and there wasn't much for entertainment.

The people and the view were the best part of the stay. Unfortunately, we were not there for dinner - the menu looked superb!

It was the best little place to stay overnite at quiet right off the highway owner was very accommodating to us and it was close to where I grew up as a kid never stopped there before always drove by it wondering what it would be like to stay there and now I know it’ll be on our list to stay over again

This is a lovely little spot. The service is top notch. Excellent value. I would happily stay there again.

What an amazing Inn! The owner of this inn was fantastic. The cuisine was delicious. We would love to stay there again in the future. The inn is over 100 years old and delightful.

quiet and comfortable place to spend time with family

Nice clean, quaint Inn next to the river. Was lovely as was our complimentary breakfast.

Lovely hosts, comfortable and clean

Beautiful quaint inn situated in an idyllic location.

Wish we could have stayed longer! Hospitality, STAFF & service 5 stars. Beautiful setting. Best value during our two week visit to the Canadian Maritimes.

I loved how quiet the property was, not busy with traffic, but no tv’s on the property

Friendly staff - beautiful property - very comfortable beds - lots of extra thoughtful touches - amazing restaurant with delicious food.

The staff are extremely polite and very friendly. Great breakfast also

It felt like home away from home!

We loved every thing about this stay. Quite little room nice view. The restaurant down stairs had great food and really good live music on a Friday night. The staff were friendly and professional would love to try to come back and stay again.

This is a very cute gem of a find. My wife and I booked this room as she had business nearby the following day. We were greeted by welcoming staff at what seemed to be a very cool dinner event (unfortunately we had other plans so needed to sit the event out, but was very welcoming to walk into nevertheless). Our room, while smaller than expected was very cozy with a large bathroom attached. The breakfast the next morning was fantastic; an excellent assortment of food and prepared for the time you specify, I was very inspired by the work the propreitors put into their guest satisfaction. I highly recommend a stay here. To note there are no TVs in the room (wifi connection is good however so you can easily stream with a mobile device), plus it is a beautiful spot along the number 7 hughway, really theres lots to do anyways. The jetted tub room has a nice large tub as well, really great for a romantic getaway Thank you for a pleasant experience!

We lucked into a reservation here. The staff was fantastic, especially for cooking (try the fish and chips) and service (the recommended beer was just what we were seeking, dark and rich and smooth). The view of the Salmon River from the dinner veranda and room was first rate. I appreciated the king bed and the motion sensor quiet light in the bathroom. Good wifi. The restaurant was at that point only open for lodgers, so was serene.

My stay at the Salmon River Inn was the best! Friendly and helpful service with knowledgeable staffs. The food at the dine in restaurant was fabulous and generous in portions. Margit the owner is now my favourite person on the Eastern Shore.
